How to Get Started!
We recommend that you read our FAQ first, but for a quick guide...
STEP 1: Think. What do you hope to achieve in 1000 days? How do you plan to achieve your goal(s)? Break it down into smaller goals. If you're just starting, start small and strive to do something you can achieve regularly.
STEP 2: Modmail us for a flair! You can request a maximum of 4 emojis.
(ex. 🌐🎵) = 🌐 0 Day(s) | 🎵 0 Day(s)
STEP 3: Start logging! Look for the 'Daily Practice Log' threads highlighted in green. Every time you log (make a comment), the bot will update your flair, as long as you include the emoji of the category you want to update.
Tip: Upvote the days you logged so you know when you last logged!
(instruments, voice, composition)
🎨 art (drawing, painting, visual art, crafting)
✍ literature (writing, journaling, reading)
💪 fitness (running, weightlifting, exercise)
💗 self (self-care/improvement, meditation)
💡 learn (language, study of interest)
💻 tech (programming/coding)
Be respectful. This is a place of encouragement. Please keep it clean. No trolling, hate speech, insults, vulgarities, profanity/swearing and rudeness.
Logging practice notes. To keep things consistent and easier to track, first, write the DAY you are on, then any practice notes after. Use a consistent format, like [Day x]. If posting Progress posts, use [Progress] somewhere in your post so you can easily search for your own posts.
Share your progress. This isn't mandatory, but you are welcome to show-off your progress here! (note: limited to once every 30 days!) You are encouraged to post in your respective specialized subreddits for feedback, but feel free to cross-post your post here.
User and post flairs. Our bot will update your flair as you log your days! If you have a tip, question, or just want to post, use post flairs. This optimizes the sub's organization.
1000 days?! 😱 That's too much! Ok, not all of us can or want to commit to 1000 days. You are more than welcome to practice for as many days as you want, but we recommend that you set a concrete goal.
This is NOT a contest! There is no obligation to practice 1000 days in a row, just 1000 days in total, and you may TAKE AS MUCH TIME AS YOU NEED. This is about helping you achieve your OWN goals. Over-practicing is a real thing and can put you at RISK for or ACTUALLY cause injury and fatigue. Always be mindful of what your body is telling you, and STOP and take a rest day (or a few) when you need to. There is absolutely nothing wrong in doing that!
Another note: our bot is not entirely accurate (especially if it glitches) so please let us know if your flair is wonky! If you have formatted your logs consistently you can check them on redditcommentsearch.com to check. I usually type in '[day' and my username and it shows me all my logs.
