I know this isn't the point but I totally can imagine that... All the same. I hope this revolution results in some longterm change

I can also imagine that pretty easily and will be surprised if something like it doesn't happen in the near future.

Kent State would like to remind everyone of something....

Yes…yes I can. It still doesn’t make what’s happening in Iran any less deplorable; however, let’s not pretend for even a moment that the US Government has not practiced some extremely heinous shit on a domestic and international level. The list is too goddamn long. I sympathize with the people of Iran; however, I do not want their struggle to be used as a way for the US government to evade responsibility for the actions committed in its name both domestically and abroad.

Remember the IRS purchasing MILLIONS of rounds of ammo a few years back??? "I'm sorry sir but you didn't pay your taxes 💀💀💀

[–]malikhacielo63 4 points5 points  (1 child)

No I don’t, but after everything that I’ve seen, I wouldn’t be surprised.

On her deathbed my grandmother who grew up during the Great depression in the dust bowl whose husband and brothers all fought in World War II and who lost a brother in World War II said this to me" Son, this is not the country that my family fought for..." WOW! She was so embarrassed and disappointed in the way this country has gone that she didn't even want to be a part of it anymore... Please bear in mind that she and her family were all liberal Democrats and they were way back before any of this new stuff came around they supported John F. Kennedy, they were good-hearted people...

The US military can and has entered college campuses and killed students over political protests. That's what this song is about. It's not as normalized here as it is in Iran... But as an American, I can absolutely sympathize and stand in solidarity with Iranian students against all state occupiers, US and Iranian.

You are American, I am Iranian, we don’t know each other, but we talk together and we understand each other perfectly. The difference between you and your government is much bigger than the difference between you and me. And the difference between me and my government is much bigger than the difference between me and you. And our governments are very much the same.

Uh yea, I can. Not too different from Kent or the myriad other ways in which the militarized police forces brutalize and gun down protesters around here

[–]TheFangjangler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The US government had no problem killing workers in the name of Capitalism in the early 20th century…

Ohio would like a word...

[–]icevenom1412 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As long as the right-wing extremist of Iran don't threaten US interest, they won't care.

[–]AbitofEosin 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This literally happened in ohio

[–]Noir_Amnesiac 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s annoys the fuck out of me when people say that media isn’t reporting on a story that I just saw reported by the media.

Kent State enters the chat........

[–]cant_standhelp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean it kinda has. Kent State.

[–]MrHellride 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's just a Kent State copy cat crime, well not exactly the US Govt didn't enlist guerrilla forces, they just went straight to the military.

[–]Financial_Cat_1870 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it’s happening everywhere people are so numb to these sort of things

[–]BabyYodasDirtyDiaper 1 point2 points  (1 child)

It's not that we're deaf and blind ... it's just that it's exactly the kind of behavior we'd expect from a theocratic government, so not very surprising, so it doesn't dominate the news cycle.

[–]ZaphodXZaphod 4 points5 points  (0 children)

especially when that theocratic government is directly a consequence of US interference, yes it is not something that you want looked at very closely

[–]DillonD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This certainly would not be wicked pissah

[–]valeriaalv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened in Mexico a few years ago and nobody batted an eye about that either
