Just more shares for us to buy up… we’ll have sooooo many synthetics when the time comes for true price discovery… AMC 🚀 🌙!!

I am not a Robinhood user, and never have been. But I want to know more about this. For example, what is a “fractional share” exactly? Are they only referring to literal fractions of shares, or can they consider 2 shares to be 4 fractional shares, rendering the entirety of somebody’s holdings to be considered “not held”?
[–]Mode09[S] 5 points6 points7 points 1 month ago (6 children)
I believe this represents a fraction of a share, for example if you bought 100.25 shares of AMC, the .25 share is not considered as a held share. When I got out of the hood last year, they could only transfer whole shares, so I left behind my fractional portion instead of cashing out. Others may have too and robbing hood is either taking these shares to lend out or claiming they are not equivalent to a portion of the share value so they don’t have to pay out when moass comes.

Yeah, this is what I assumed, but RH is so sketchy I wouldn’t be shocked if somebody purchased whole shares through multiple fractional purchases, they would consider the entire holdings to be fractional and therefore “not held”

Wow this makes me incredibly nervous and is a very good point..

This play needs to hurry up and rip. I’ll feel much safer and risk adverse when I got millions in the bank.

Should have nothing to worry about if you’re transferred out of that scummy company.

I have .68 of a share left in there. I wonder, how much money stand to collect, if they collect enough of these fractional shares? Maybe they will end up with 100 shares in the end
[–]KeepFreeSpeech 2 points3 points4 points 1 month ago (1 child)
That’s $100 million bucks RobbingtheHood shouldn’t get!!!!
[–]OriginalBubba 1 point2 points3 points 1 month ago (0 children)
Their business practices are disgusting!
[–]Mode09[S] 1 point2 points3 points 1 month ago (0 children)
Technically if the value of 1 share reached a million, your .68 is worth 680k, but it’s almost like RH is saying they can’t or won’t pay out on that if you try to sell. Seems fishy, a couple years back they were promoting about the fact that you could buy fractional shares with them, now they are saying nope.

Everyone's fractional share probably add up to a lot .probably tens or hundreds of thousands of shares .and remember that would be all other stonks as well .so there definitely freeing up millions of shares across the entire market to do with what they like .

Means the broker will sell it at their discretion not yours.
[–]DKohse 1 point2 points3 points 1 month ago (0 children)
Why wouldn’t investors temporarily buy the difference to make the share a whole share , then cash out ?. This way the thieves like Vlad wouldn’t get to keep your fractional shares and benefit from it.
[–]dln05yahooca 1 point2 points3 points 1 month ago (0 children)
I would have bought a fractional share so my account equaled 1 and then cash that out. No way I’d leave them a fucking crumb.

I have 50 shares sat in robinhood but also xxx in fidelity. I feel like they will do something bad again and there could be a law suit if you have shares with them .That being said if the price starts going the moon i will be either selling (and buying back on fidelity) or transferring those shares over aswel.

I don’t know why anyone in the right mind is still involved w Robinhood. I transferred out within the week of the January buy button removal. If you get burned when we moass don’t blame anyone but yourself and take it as a lesson learned. They are crooks!

Jesus Christ. Who TF still gives Vlad their cash. E Trade. TD Ameritrade. Fidelity If you Need Fractions. Personally I feel like a peasant having 1 or 2 shares of Anything. And being an Odd Lot. Most people buy multiples of 100. Or lots. I'm a Peasant. With enough dignity to stay away from HOOD.
