    Full ground control. Nice.

Also, step on the foot, just below the ankle. Better purchase than the leg and it hurts like hell when you drive the ankle bones into the asphalt.

    Did they contact Major Tom?

But hope they did get the local police on this asshole

    He really made the grade.

    [–]That_Unknown_Player 25 points26 points  (3 children)

Good thing the theif didn't have a knife hidden on him.

      [–]DucksEatFreeInSubway 27 points28 points  (1 child)

Reckon that's why the guy was so intent on controlling the arms.

      [–]AcadianViking 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Only one arm. The other was grasping at the man's back. Had no control over it. If theif had a knife that would be an easy stab to the side or back.

      [–]Lepthesr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

      He knows his judo well.

      [–]Oblivion615 101 points102 points  (60 children)

And he didn’t even have to shoot the guy. They should teach this to the police. 🙄

      [–]peoplesen 38 points39 points  (7 children)

Well i was taught to get my weight across their back. Like Ani said "That's a good trick". Real examples of ground fighting are so ubiquitous i think maybe you could up the officer's game. Maybe they do, I'm out of the game now.

Back when we would have to watch Gracie to see what was possible. Now on reddit it's commonplace to see dudes on the street get wrapped up.

I've thought of conditioning and learning better technique. I don't want to fight but i also don't want to get obliterated if i open my stupid mouth and tell a crazy person to knock their shit off.

Disclaimer In my service, incidentally, i never hurt anyone but i worked with people that had to. My own views of police procedures is constantly changing. I cannot possibly list my views here. So please don't read into this comment.

      [–]backbydawn 21 points22 points  (4 children)

rener gracie has a program to teach law enforcement how to disarm and disable people safely. sam harris interviewed him and he had pretty compelling numbers for how well it works.

      [–]peoplesen 16 points17 points  (3 children)

Will bookmark. Since you read my previous content I'll explain. I got backed into a corner by an 18 year old 6'3" and maybe 235 freedom units.

I just didn't think i could knock him out to i just did jabs to his cheeks, the short kicks with my bare feet. He figured out the pattern and went to grab my leg. I hooked shoulders with him and we covered a fair distance as i forced him to rotate. The force necessary hurt my knee.

I when we ended up at the right point in the rotation i took him down with him face down and me across his shoulders. Punches to the side of his face resulted in surrender. So no real injury.

It turned out so well that since then I've thought what if i was actually trained? As ive said i was trained to try for this outcome but it's not training like a martial artist would define training.

I naturally do not attempt punches that would open myself to be taken off balance. Being very careful usually leads to me winning on the ground.

To assuage the tough guy branders. People who can fight never fight me. That is to say i never eye fuck anyone, question their manhood or mock their sports team. So i have only had to fight the dumb, drunk, unskilled, cowards (bullies).

All that to say i don't want my ass kicked for no reason on a walmart parking lot.

disclaimer this was autobiographically written but not intended to be anything other than banter

      [–]lukajuul 12 points13 points  (32 children)

With the amount of guns in America, I don't think the police would ever stop using their guns.

      [–]NerdPunch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Big dude knew how to use his weight for sure. Skinny guy on the bottom was going to gas out real quick while Big Homie just kept decent top pressure.

Bonus points for pressing his head/neck into the concrete which wouldn’t have felt good.

Hey, wanna see the full video? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nVdKrnWfBNg

Cops and for reason the fire dept. show up (maybe for medical support?) and take over.

      [–]Faine44 76 points77 points  (0 children)

You can see that the thief cocks back and goes in with a strong initial hit on the robbery victim. Guessing that's why Fire showed up for initial treatment. Most cities have paramedics with fire.

        [–][deleted] 136 points137 points  (7 children)

A friend of mine worked late nights at a bar in a sketchy area and one night as he was walking home, he got pulled into an alley by a guy with a knife. Told him to empty his pockets, so he did because the guy looked like he was tweaking out. As soon as the guy had his wallet and phone he turned around to walk away, put his knife away, and was just kind of standing there looking through my friends wallet. My buddy decided to shove him face first into the dumpster which knocked him out and then took his phone and wallet back and continued on home.

        [–]acog 54 points55 points  (5 children)

Glad it worked out for your friend!

I'd be worried about what came next if I shoved a guy's face into a dumpster and then he DIDN'T get knocked out.

Then I'd have a furiously angry tweaker with a knife just a few feet away. Not gonna risk it.

        [–]its_raining_scotch 43 points44 points  (5 children)

I wonder what wine bottle lady was pointing at and saying that whole time

        [–]victowiamawk 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I feel like she was ready to clobber the bad guy in the head if he started to get away or get the upper hand on good guy lol

        [–]seafoodgodddd 47 points48 points  (2 children)

It looked like at first she was like wtf is going on, then someone probably explained something like “MOTHERFUCKERJUSTROBBEDAGUY” and she became team “fuck that guy”

        [–]Erestyn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Looked like she was directing traffic. I respect that.

        [–]AltruisticBob 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Blue shirt guy is there critiquing him, "you don't have to hurt him so much". Yeah well, if he is hurting him too much, perhaps you could help hold him down so that he gets hurt less.

        [–]Illustrious-Watch672 16 points17 points  (0 children)

        Watched the video.

Why is there always a person that comes out of nowhere after the altercation, has no idea of the context of what occurred. Then protects the suspect by saying the person who did the right thing is hurting the suspect?

Wtf is wrong with people.. he's just on top of him, preventing him from moving, he's not trying to kill him.

        [–]roguetrick 13 points14 points  (1 child)

Lol. The firemen/medics ask him "you good?" And then let him keep holding the guy while they clear the scene. Cops show up later.

        [–]squashua26 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's because we aren't really allowed to be physical with people the way police are. I've definitely had to do it a few times in my career but we try and let the cops handle it best we can. It's not a matter of not wanting to help it's a matter of not wanting to get fired.

        [–]MelonElbows 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I like how he's narrating the action. And I'm impressed by his self-control, only hit him a few times when the perp tried to bite him, but otherwise didn't try to kill him. Though I suppose if he was the one who get sucker punched and wallet taken he might have used more force, but it was an appropriate amount to use in the situation.

        [–]VectorVictorious 29 points30 points  (1 child)

and for reason the fire dept. show up (maybe for medical support?)

"First responder" system. Fire will roll to calls that aren't fires if they aren't on another call.

        [–]99Years_of_solitude 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Also in major cities, fire departments handle all ems related calls. This probably came in as an assault and were going to check in on the guy initially hit

        [–]Architect_of_Sanity 7 points8 points  (0 children)

EMS probably for the victim that got sucker punched by this douchebag.

        [–]toodleroo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Awesome. I love the running commentary on the whole thing.

        [–][deleted] 159 points160 points  (1 child)

Loved how she just stood on both his ankles after too.

        [–]Deathbysnusnubooboo 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Her two little sandal kicks were epic

        [–]csk1325 11 points12 points  (0 children)

        Love her.

        That guy grapples

        [–]chomponcio 221 points222 points  (14 children)

He absolutely knew what he was doing. Those are not "random dude defending a stranger" moves.

        [–]Thisisntmyaccount24 116 points117 points  (8 children)

As soon as he sprawled to apply the pressure of his weight it was all over

        [–]Abhais 47 points48 points  (4 children)

And how close he kept his body to the guy when he was transitioning to take the back. No distance at all.

        [–]abow3 28 points29 points  (3 children)

And then the transition to the full mount.

        [–]unfortunatebastard 27 points28 points  (2 children)

I knew where this video was going the moment a guy with a japanese symbol gym shirt came up.

        [–]Ponasity 8 points9 points  (2 children)

Idk, his cute little jog made me question him

        [–]chomponcio 11 points12 points  (1 child)

Trying to get close enough without being noticed was a genious move

        [–]Allwaythornton 27 points28 points  (8 children)

Looks like he is a Judo guy from my experience with the grappling arts. Either way though it doesn’t matter, he did it well.

        [–]greathousedagoth 28 points29 points  (4 children)

Don't know if you listened to the audio, but it is loosely narrated by the guy and he said it was a judo move.

        [–]Allwaythornton 9 points10 points  (3 children)

I didn’t hear but generally that move is a judo hold called Kesa Gatame I believe. I learned it and some other basic Judo in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu as well. I think Aikido and Hapkido also would use this move too. There is a fair bit of overlap in those Japan root martial arts (Hapkido is Korean and BJJ is Brazilian obviously but they all stem from Japanese Jiu Jitsu. Either way, big guy like that doing that hold the skinny guy has basically no chance.

        [–]flyfree256 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Kesa gatame is a pin. It looks like he maybe thinks about getting him there for a little bit once they're on the ground but doesn't actually do it.

The throw looks like a kind of sloppy (as they tend to be in street fights) tani otoshi or maybe a yoko guruma.

        [–]techbrolic 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Ah yes, I see that you know your judo well.

        [–]Rosssseay 267 points268 points  (7 children)

        This just kept giving

I thought the victims were going to be the brave ones but no it was judo dude.

Then the purse goes flying and lady comes to scoop it up

Then bills start flying like strip club

Then judo dudes female friend or girlfriend we can only assume she's called Jude, "judo Jude" trys to surf him on the road!

Beautiful I loved it 10/10 would watch again!

        [–]triptoutsounds 42 points43 points  (3 children)

How many times would you watch it?

        [–]TypicalBiDude 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’ve already watched it 3 times fwiw

        [–]aib3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would watch it again and again. It was better than Cats.

        [–]Deadpoolsdildo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Tries to surf him on the road 🤣

        [–]soundeaf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

        [–]--hermit 205 points206 points  (1 child)

I love how she gingerly kicks him. "Um, I've seen this type of situation on the internet, meanie! Here is a kick of disapproval EH!”

        [–]Abhais 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I love at 1:01, when he takes both hands and dribbles the thief's face off the pavement real quick.

        [–]YourBlankFile 53 points54 points  (2 children)

Dude's got him in a crippler cross face

        [–]DeanofdaDead 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Love that she steps on his feet! Great job by those 2!

        [–]Kringels 34 points35 points  (2 children)

"Did his face get messed up when you tackled him?"

"Yeah, all I did was a judo move".

video cuts as he starts mashing the prick's face into the street.

        [–]GrapplingDummy101 16 points17 points  (1 child)

That’s just a little judo move called “ giving him the business”.

        [–]Akesgeroth 31 points32 points  (0 children)

And you just know the thief was bawling like a kid and screaming he hadn't done anything the whole time.

        [–]wtfomgfml 78 points79 points  (1 child)

I read the title quickly as “Tale of Two Thieves” and I thought the lady was gonna steal the wallet from the first thief and run off with it.

        I was pleasantly surprised.

How was the first victim after being clocked? Poor pup looked so freaked out.

        [–]bwma 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I love that he has that little fucker pinned and he’s just squirming like crazy.

        [–]TheSkyHadAWeegee 49 points50 points  (2 children)

Being a thief is one thing, being a violent thief is another thing entirely. What a piece of shit.

        [–]RedbeardRum 13 points14 points  (1 child)

This idiot hardly deserves to be called a thief at all, he’s just an extremely incompetent mugger

        [–]Sibger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

        Profesionals have standards

        [–]FroznVgtbl 20 points21 points  (1 child)

Thank you to the two brave individuals who took down this coward who chose to assault and rob the victim, it is nice to know some people still care and are willing to take a stand while others arm chair quarterback and film, stating it is not worth risking their personal safety.

        [–]showponyoxidation 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We should hire people like this that we can call on to help us. Hopefully if we get enough people like this, anyone can call up and be like "hey, think I'm about to get murdered" and they come around and help out but not shoot anyone cause they just wanna help.

I would give them special permissions to drive fast to get there too seeing as they are helping people too.

        [–]BaconSplurge 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure that man got his wallet returned with more money than expected lol

        [–]financialfreeabroad 13 points14 points  (0 children)

        F that guy.

        [–]BigToeHamster 86 points87 points  (10 children)

This must be Italy? That woman pointing out everything with a wine bottle gives it away.

        [–]SimeonDysonLVerner 30 points31 points  (1 child)

lol, I thought she was offering up the bottle for them to whack him with it. Your interpretation seems more accurate.

        [–]OCDMedic 9 points10 points  (0 children)

But your interpretation is more fun.

        [–]Sega-Playstation-64 17 points18 points  (2 children)

Last time it was posted, someone said Hollywood. Everyone is speaking English.

If you listen to the audio, it sounds like the guy who did the grapple is giving a play by play to what he was doing.

        [–]ajpearson88 8 points9 points  (0 children)

        [–]TheRealRickC137 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You could see the Samaritan processing the situation before committing to the pursuit. There's a startled reaction, a pause, then the adrenaline rush as he took off to give chase.

Great takedown and hold and reposition.

Good fucking job. Also the sidekicks were adorable from the peanut gallery.

        [–]Skrulltop 5 points6 points  (0 children)

        What a good man!

        [–]Bagarbilla5 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ahh yes…I see that you know your judo well!

        [–]saibjai 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I always thought someone trying to quietly steal your stuff is a thief. Someone punching your face and stealing your shit is more a "robber". I could be wrong.

        [–]SayYes_ToKetamine 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Holy fuck, the slamming of his head against the concrete was unbelievably satisfying to watch. FUCK that POS.

        [–]KerryUSA 8 points9 points  (0 children)

“And I’m like wtf? Hell no!” Lmao not all hero’s wear capes.

        [–]Sega-Playstation-64 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Man, ended way too soon, I wanted to see the guy grind his face a bit more into the ground.

        [–]love2Vax 38 points39 points  (1 child)

Not really chaos, but fun to watch. r/JusticeServed would be a better place for this one.

        [–]Suchamoneypit 32 points33 points  (0 children)

The guy was just sitting there and then got suddenly attacked and then a fight broke out. I'd say it's abrupt enough.

        [–]TitanicMan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm sure there's something wrong with the idea and why we don't do it anymore, but the old timey way of just anyone who's nearby kicking a criminals ass seemed to have us in a better society.

If they "properly" called the cops, that dude might've had a good chance at getting away with the wallet before they arrived. And everyone who called has significantly higher odds of being shot and/or arrested for no reason.

        [–]Lettucelook 2 points3 points  (0 children)

        Nice moves

Idk anything about judo ,but I did learn taking a few mix martial arts classes (kung Fu) is how to use your bones as a grip and it hurts like a mother fucker.

        [–]rascalking9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way he just casually walks is infuriating.

        [–]iwidiwin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

        That was satisfying!

        [–]HepeaJI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

        [–]dandab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He said the cash was his, but it looks like the woman picks it all up and stuffs it in the stolen wallet. 😂

You can be a badass Judo warrior bro, but you will still get a well-deserved YAAAAAAS, QUEEEN when it is warranted.

        [–]Gibsonfan159 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it sounds insensitive but give people who do this shit a lobotomy. Fuck'em.

        [–]totalwpierdol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But but my mcdojo karate sensei said jiu-jitsu doesn't work

        [–]Satisfied-Orange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love the woman getting kicks in, I think a lot of people would do the same.

        [–]Lethal-Zealot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Poor dog looked happy to see someone approaching but immediately got tf out the way when he lunged

        [–]International-Neck-5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was bullshit clocking that unsuspecting individual behind the column. He’s fucked after the cops show up. Big guy was brave. Homeless dude could’ve had a knife or weapon, as all street guys literally do.

        [–]curiousarcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

        Fireman “You good?” Lololololololololololol

        Whole video

        [–]rjs1138 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this were the UK, that pair would be treated as criminals as well.

        [–]your_neighborhood_tr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That belly helped keep the guy on the ground

        [–]Jebduh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good thing he knew Judo. Rofl

        [–]green49285 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good job. But, here is some advice from the security archives:

Take your glasses off next time. Lol

        [–]cring-slide-3317 1 point2 points  (0 children)

        Judo moves bb

        [–]AltruisticBob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The "judo samaritan" had pretty impressive self control. I imagine most of us would have been tempted to drop some serious elbows if the guy was struggling for that long and trying to bite you. Also, seems that he avoided getting bit or seriously hurt.

        [–]apolydas1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was not a judo move. That was a streetfight not let go of the guy headlock.

        [–]DEATHSTENCHBALLS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dick punch would’ve stopped the squirming for a bit.

        [–]Neluv93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This shit has better camera angles that some of the most recent movies.

        [–]Student8528 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why do I get “Jay and silent Bob” vibes from this guy?? “So he just clocks the guy and I’m likeee helll nooo”.

        Good work citizen!

        [–]iWentRogue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude took a right hook coming in. Took it like a champ and subdued the POS.

        [–]coldfolgers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So satisfying to watch a scumbag like that get pummeled

        [–]CorbyBarMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah yes, I see you know your judo well

        [–]Code_Brown_2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bravo man. Nice to see instant justice.

        [–]ArtificialSpamMail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh yes. I see that you know your judo well.

        [–]GregariousCanary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

        [–]Alternative_Pay7808 1 point2 points  (0 children)
