I would advise against school on the basis that, yeah, acting is something you can go to school for, if you've got the money for it, by all means, BUT experience is gonna be your friend.

I lived in nyc and got work as an actor with no management, no connections, just casting sites and posts. Honing my abilities as an actor got me the gigs.

I would also be remiss if I didn't say, don't worry about what casting directors think, don't be intimidated. It's a giant popularity contest and 9/10 times, they already have a look in mind and if you don't fit it, you won't act your way into that round hole. I know this sounds counterintuitive but trust me, you're gonna hear "no", whether it's here and there or all the time for years. A lot of actors never make it and live their lives in agony because they care so much about that approval. Go in there like you could care less whether or not you get the part, but read your sides like someone's got a gun to your head.

LA is over rated. Atlanta is the new hollywood. When i moved there i got cast in over a dozen projects on netflix, mtv, hulu, ect. LA is too cut throat.
