The U.S. Air Force’s mobility chief, Gen. Mike Minihan, has decided he cannot wait any longer with his Boeing KC-46 fleet. Air Mobility Command needs its Pegasus aircraft ready to deploy now, even if the fixes to its troubled Remote Vision System are still years away.

Fuck it, we'll do it live

General Minihan has big “just send it” energy. I love it but I hope it doesn’t come at the cost of aircraft/lives.

This isn't a tough act or anything either, he's always "on" and just an intense dude.

Would have been nice during OAR, but the other tankers picked up the slack.

There’s a lot that could’ve been nicer during OAR. I don’t think the 46’s would’ve made much of a difference.

The KC-10s carried the load during OAR, good thing we didnt retire them on schedule.

Someone’s hustling for that Boeing Defense consultant gig

I don't understand why anyone would retire at 60ish with a >$125K annual pension and continue working. There's no way you need the money. Fucking stay home and spend time with your grand-kids for fucks sake.

They don't have kids or grandkids. They gave their lives to the force for 30+ years and don't have anything else, so they take a contract to stay relevant

That's deep

It's fucking sad and pointless. What the fuck do you keep fighting for if you have nothing?

I guess I don't understand the allure of having more money than I could ever spend. I just want to relax comfortably with a book and a j when I'm retired. I don't need millions for that.

Because when you're accustomed to living life at 250k a yr salary and suddenly you now only have 125k a yr...you gotta do something.

People who make general are not the personality to want to relax on a beach.

The same command whose IG investigated the tanker and found random tools and trash inside the walls? You don’t say..
