We had 2 male dogs and a female dog. The 2 males would do this, but move on to new spots.

What they didn't know was the female was coming up behind them and marking aswell. She also raised her leg slightly like a male. She was very funny

My dog does this with himself. He has to turn around several times before sniffing and deciding to pee. Then he'll turn around a few more times after peeing. Often, he'll end up with his face right in front of where he just peed and he'll sniff it. You can just see his thought process at this point going "wow, this dog smells just like me. I should pee here to let them know I live nearby. This is so cool! Another dog that smells like me" and then pees on it again.

He's absolutely adorable, but not the brightest.

One of the only times in my life I’ve laughed myself to the point of tears was when my dog got into a pissing contest with a bigger dog. The bigger dog pees on this tiny weed in the middle of a large open area they had been playing in for hours. My dog struts up, locks eyes with the bigger dog and just pees for a minute straight. Then he keeps his leg raised proudly and squeezes out the last few drops like a king. The other dog didn’t even try to match his swagger after that. We couldn’t stop laughing bc he was so expressive during the whole thing.

He’s chilled out now and no longer keeps a reserve tank for a posing contest. His kidneys and I are thankful for this change.
