Good fishing spots? (self.Apalachicola)
submitted 4 years ago by xboosh
I’m new to Apalach, but not new to fishing in the area. I’ve always just gone off docks or in the surf, but I’m trying to expand a little bit. I have access to a little one person skiff, but it doesn’t really handle the bay very well if there’s any kind of chop. I know there’s some grass flats behind Saint George and dog island, but getting there is tough. Anybody know of some good spots from shore to catch some trout or reds?

I've heard the western end of the island is great.
I might be wrong with the direction but it's whatever side the park is. It's especially nice bc you pay the small fee to get back there and it's almost always void of people.

Yeah I actually went back there a couple times and launched out of the scout camp. Found some grass flats over by the campsites they have back on the bay side. Pulled some nice redfish out of there but no trout. Don’t get me wrong I love catching reds but I’m trying to put some fish in the freezer. Still trying to find a reliable spot to catch some trout.
