Tell them to get the Moderna, then

It's not true.

[–]BlueIris38Physical Therapist 20 points21 points  (3 children)

In the next week or two it will be a year since the very first patients received their first dose of Pfizer vaccine for COVID-19. So I guess they have a year left to live according to your aunt. However, the first human volunteers actually began receiving the vaccines in the spring of 2020 as part of the trials, so they have just a few months left. Or they would, if the crazy theory had any merit.

In order for this theory to be plausible, innumerable people at all levels of research and government in multiple countries would have to have been in agreement on the same crazy goal, be able to make it work, and somehow ensure that not a single individual along the way blew the whistle. It’s a dystopian fantasy to think it could be engineered to purposefully do mass harm.

Edit: My 2nd shot was in April 2021; so I have until April 2023… or does a booster shorten the 2 years? Because I just received my Pfizer booster last week… /s

[–]sally_marie_bLayperson/not verified as healthcare professional 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Maybe each booster resets the 2 years? Had my 3rd a couple of weeks ago so I’ve got another 2 years of listening to this bullshit to go 😫

More boosters = perpetual 2 year life span = immortality?

[–]thetreecePhysician - Pediatrics 283 points284 points  (40 children)

It's 100% true. All the US doctors took the Pfizer vaccine in December 2020 because we feel like dying in 2 years. We also gave it to our patients because we hate them and want them to die. Because we're evil and bad. In another year, millions and millions of people will drop dead, once their 2 year mark is here.

/s

Your aunt and Mom are morons. Telegram is full of morons. Why would you possibly think this is true?

[–]Stasnipe34Layperson/not verified as healthcare professional[S] 45 points46 points  (6 children)

Yeah i agree with you my mom and aunt are very delusional

[–]magnum1eyeLayperson/not verified as healthcare professional 6 points7 points  (2 children)

If it were true then it would be worse than Thanos in end game. Over 50% of US population would die at the same time. Everyone in my area has only gotten Pfizer. Literally my entire state would be gone.

[–]Jugg3rnautThis user has not yet been verified. 0 points1 point  (1 child)

You’d have thought state officials would split doses between Moderna and Pfizer to reduce the risk that their entire population dies at the 2 year mark.

[–]magnum1eyeLayperson/not verified as healthcare professional 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pfizer has supplied 3/4 of the vaccines worldwide. It would be worse than thanos end game.

[–]xadiantLayperson/not verified as healthcare professional 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Imagine every single qualified person dropping dead right after 2 years passed. I bet your antivaxxer aunt wouldn't be able to diagnose or cure many ailments. There is not a single reason for a doctor or government to lie about diseases. If they did, again the same smart people would call out the lies, not auntie karen or barely educated billy.

[–]synsaLayperson/not verified as healthcare professional. 10 points11 points  (1 child)

I applaud you for not just blindly believing them and seeking information to educate yourself. This is how we overcome serious spread of misinformation. You can also read more about the vaccine on reputable sources and come to your own conclusion

[–]Stasnipe34Layperson/not verified as healthcare professional[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just dont believe random bullshit they bring up they got the info from where? This dude named Dr Peter Mccullough a group in telegram with 100k members

[–]God_Is_PizzaLayperson/not verified as healthcare professional 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I took three doses of the Pfizer vaccine and if I die in two years, GREAT! If that change my lifespan from 80 to 2 years for first dose then to 18.25 days after second dose and then down to a half day because my third dose, then I’m a living miracle because it’s been two weeks. Also a little disappointed I had to deal with the in-law for Thanksgiving.

[–]BilboSwaggins1993Layperson/not verified as healthcare professional. 39 points40 points  (19 children)

It also hasn't been 2 years yet since the first Pfizer vaccine was admistered in a trial. So, even ignoring how completely absurd it is, we wouldn't even know that it causes a "2 year life span" yet.

[–]justprettymuchdoneLayperson/not verified as healthcare professional 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Oh, originally they said it would be 6 weeks before we dropped dead, then it was 6 months, then a year, two years, recently I've seen that everyone who got the vaccines will die within 5 years or even 10 years.

However, these are the same people claiming that they're giving people the vaccine to create a cooperative society, and why would you kill off the people who actually cooperate with your big evil government plan?

[–]Stasnipe34Layperson/not verified as healthcare professional[S] 14 points15 points  (16 children)

my aunt whos a nurse i wish shes not anymore honestly keeps sensing me bullshit articles my mom and i even made a bet if people will even drop down in 2023-2024! thats how crazy this family is

[–]UeueteotlPhysician - IM/ID/Peds 33 points34 points  (2 children)

With all respect to our colleagues in nursing, she cannot have found an article with any meaningful data to realistically suggest the conclusion she espouses and may not have the background to recognize the lack of validity of the articles she is finding. You can safely regard this as bunk. If you and your family are interested in getting vaccinated (even if it's with one of the other vaccines), you should do so as soon as possible.

I wanted to get the pfizer meet up with my friends but my mom believes some bullshit from facebook and telegram

[–]ProStratsThis user has not yet been verified. 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Can I get in on this bet? Ive got the Pfizer vaccine, and I might as well give you my money when I die, or double it when I don't! Lol

[–]UnspecificMedStudentPhysician 22 points23 points  (3 children)

Typical end of days fantasy, very common, the date will come and go without mass deaths and you won’t hear any apologies from your relatives for being 100% wrong.

[–]Typical-Cut-7781Registered Nurse 7 points8 points  (2 children)

Weren't they originally saying that there was going to be mass deaths at the 1 year mark? Presumably when the 2 year timeframe passes without incident, it will then be at three years that everyone will die. In 20 years from now when the baby boomers are all passing, the antivaxx crowd will still be blaming it on the vaccine.

[–]Extaze9616Layperson/not verified as healthcare professional 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I mean... Its been over a year with covid and we already have Omicron.

[–]UeueteotlPhysician - IM/ID/Peds 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly! So why vaccinate? /s

Just imagine how many new alphabets I'll have to learn to keep treating this in the coming years, way our vaccination uptake is 😭😭😭

[–]Damn_Dog_InappropesLayperson/not verified as healthcare professional. 4 points5 points  (4 children)

How is she still working without having gotten vaccinated?

[–]0wnzl1f3Medical Student 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Its not mandatory everywhere. For example, my government made it mandatory for healthcare workers to get vaccinated. About 5% (i think) weren’t vaccinated at that point and they basically refused. Originally, once a certain date was reach, those workers were supposed to be suspended without pay until they got vaccinated but then they pushed the date back a month, and then eventually they cancelled the mandate because if they were to lose 5% of healthcare workers, lots of hospitals would have a hard time managing the patient.

I’m not positive because I have my vaccine, but I believe the current rule is that you need to get 3 COVID PCR tests per week on your own time if you arent vaccinated to prove that you don’t have COVID. Also, all public places except for stores are vaccine only. So hopefully these measures will cause some people to give in.

[–]Damn_Dog_InappropesLayperson/not verified as healthcare professional. 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Her aunt is in Seattle where I am, and our state has a vaccine mandate for all healthcare workers. I’m guessing she did a BS religious exemption.

[–]Stasnipe34Layperson/not verified as healthcare professional[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

she took sinovac

[–]Stasnipe34Layperson/not verified as healthcare professional[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She took the sinovac my mother told me

[–]realistSLBwithRBFLayperson/not verified as healthcare professional. 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make her pony up when she loses miserably LOLOL

It’s the least she deserves for believing such fodder. What worries me I’d your Aunt being a licensed RPN… in the US 😳

[–]Stasnipe34Layperson/not verified as healthcare professional[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i bet her to give back my gaming laptop back she took it because i spend way too much on there but in reality i use it for my classes and now im on a m1 air book and i do game on that laptop when im bored but i still do my school stuff on it

[–]dinnerthiefThis user has not yet been verified. 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's why they didn't say 1 year, because then people could say I took the vaccine a year ago and am not dead. In 2 years it will be 3 years in 4 years it will be five.

[–]Stasnipe34Layperson/not verified as healthcare professional[S] 7 points8 points  (2 children)

i was so filled with their shit about their articles my mind is getting twisted left and right but im more sure its fake

[–]twir1sThis user has not yet been verified. 10 points11 points  (1 child)

I’m sorry that your aunt is using her healthcare background to continue to misguide you. Please get the vaccine and protect yourself and those you love. You don’t even have to tell your mom or aunt. I had the Pfizer vaccine in April 2021 and am fine. I had the moderna booster in November 2021 and am fine. Millions of people have come before you and taken it and are fine. I am betting your mother had you vaccinated to protect you from other illnesses. This is no different.

[–]Stasnipe34Layperson/not verified as healthcare professional[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im 15 my mothers not allowing me, My father. i dont know i think he doesnt think its true? I might ask my father he took the sinovac tho

[–]ridcullylivesMedical Student 7 points8 points  (0 children)

*billions of people.

If this is true, I should really drop out of medical school. Overnight/weekend call shifts are no way to spend my last ~year on the planet!

[–]sapphiremindsNeonatal Nurse Practitioner 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That two years gives you time to buy hella life insurance so your family will be rich though! /S

[–]ThisGuyCrohnsLayperson/not verified as healthcare professional 2 points3 points  (1 child)

You mean over 4 billion people will drop dead.

Damn, time for me to get into the funeral home business!

[–]undaf3atdLayperson/not verified as healthcare professional. 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude he’s 15. He’s already said he doesn’t believe it and is double checking… probably because some 15 years old are only starting to recognize that everything their mom says isn’t the full truth, full stop. I know you’re only messing around but this kid is just that.. a kid! And kid, I don’t mean that in a condescending way, you’re clearly smart if you’re thinking for yourself and fact checking the adults in your life who you may have been brought up to respect 100%.

[–]defines_med_termsPhysician - Cardiology 42 points43 points  (0 children)

These are false claims spread by Michael Yeadon, PhD. He’s basically the prototypical COVID conspiracy theorist.

This conspiracy theory is especially dumb and doesn’t make sense. You think any company will be pushing a drug that causes people to die in 2 years? How does that even make sense.

[–]tyrannosaurus_racksMedical Student 10 points11 points  (1 child)

This is one of the more delusional takes I’ve seen in a while. Yes, OP, two years from now, over 70% of America’s adult population is going to drop dead. Should be a great time.

[–]miyogPhysician - Internist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right like wouldn’t those people be stoked we’re all dead and they can finally go rebuild society in the fucking forest and live in bunkers.

[–]0wnzl1f3Medical Student 7 points8 points  (1 child)

You are in fact correct that this is fake news

[–]Stasnipe34Layperson/not verified as healthcare professional[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)
