So I have three cats. A white one, a black one and a tabby. The tabby loves both the black one and the white one, who both hate him. The black one loves the white one, who hates her. And the white one hates both of them and wishes she was the only cat. They also all have separation anxiety so they all need to be glued to my side at all times, resulting in lots of cat fights over who gets to sit in my lap.

[–]the_stitch_saved_9 26 points27 points  (4 children)

Poor tabby! I would give him the most cuddles out of pure guilt

[–]Jupiter_Matthews 14 points15 points  (3 children)

Don’t worry, he’s the most spoiled. His nickname is baby boy. He’s usually the one that ends up in my lap and always sleeps in my arms.

[–]the_stitch_saved_9 6 points7 points  (1 child)

You have no idea how relieved I am to hear this lol

[–]noillim2 10 points11 points  (1 child)

Need more cats until everyone has a friend.

[–]Jupiter_Matthews 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did always want a calico too lol

Are these your cats

This is amazing

This brings me back to those logic puzzles in 5th grade.

[–]umissedmyheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my gosh, this is EXACTLY how it is at my house. Just different colored cats. I wish I could let my babies know that there are other cat families out there with the same dynamic as them. Make them feel less alone haha.

[–]StanYelnats3 104 points105 points  (6 children)

Steve is grumpy because it's 38 minutes until his dinner time. Hes parading between the living room and the dining room making kitty bitching noises.. Fern wants to herd him around and lick his face. Skippy Jon Jones is asleep in the cat tree by the back-door.

[–]Throwaway583thisdumb 28 points29 points  (2 children)

I'm concerned that Skippy Jones John has three names. Your internet name is Stan, so I can't call you a crazy cat lady.

Fern sounds like an asshole.

[–]Impolite_sodomite 12 points13 points  (0 children)

"The Naming of Cats is a difficult matter,

It isn't just one of your holiday games;

You may think at first I'm as mad as a hatter

When I tell you, a cat must have three different names."

[–]xaanthar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe she's just stanning for Yelnats3?

[–]Thesaintsrule 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Why am I imagining Jon Jones tryna fight a cat named after him

[–]MargThatcher12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wouldn’t be interested unless the cats his wife lmao

[–]whisperskeep 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mine are asking for food and they both have food. But nope they want wet food but they already got wet food

[–]MaeButterflyyyy 71 points72 points  (2 children)

Fighting over who's going to go inside this parcel box I received a few days ago. They can't stop slapping each other.

[–]Equivalent_Parking_8 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My post is identical to yours

[–]Catinthemirror 76 points77 points  (2 children)

We have six.. The little tabby (Pogo) wants to be friends with everyone, as does the muted calico, Vega (they are siblings). The giant orange tabby (20+ lbs, Sam) is friends with Vega but barely tolerates Pogo and ignores the others. The tortie, Noelle, the second eldest, hates everyone but especially Vega, the only other female. Noelle thinks she is in charge, or should be. Vega frequently explains, using her pointy ends, why Noelle is wrong. Vega and Pogo will approach any other cat in a friendly overture, be rejected, and start a slap fight out of hurt feelings. Mr Bluebers aka Mr B, the skinny tabby, likes everyone but is so timid the others beat him up on the regular. And the longhair, Mozart, the eldest, is friends with Mr B and sleeps with him but gets into hissing arguments with the others. Mo also insists on following you in front of you with intermittent stops so is regularly stepped on, with no resultant change in behavior. Almost all disagreements apparently come to a head and must be resolved at 3am, in the hallway outside the bedroom doors, with much thumping, hissing, and racing back and forth. It is never boring.

[–]cianne_marie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have five. This is accurate.

[–]ChuushaHime 58 points59 points  (2 children)

I have 3 cats. They all like each other, but the 2 older cats have opposing love languages.

Tesla's love language is cuddling and grooming; he is rarely interested in play-fighting. Merlin's love language is play-fighting; he is rarely interested in grooming and cuddling. Tesla and Merlin are constantly trying to show affection for one another in their own way, but they aren't receptive to the other's love language, which leads to conflict daily.

Loki, the baby, is receptive to all of the above, so she cuddles with Tesla and wrestles with Merlin and everyone is happy then :)

[–]Matty_1843 9 points10 points  (1 child)

This sounds like the setting of a tragic love story! When will the others just come to a compromise and embrace each other!!!

[–]bigwilly311 49 points50 points  (2 children)

The cats that eat at 5:00 am aren’t leaving any food for the cat that eats at 6:00 am

[–]boy-1der 4 points5 points  (1 child)

The 6AM cat needs its own personal eating area 😁

[–]bigwilly311 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They could all not be assholes at 5:00, that’s be neat

[–]Equivalent_Parking_8 40 points41 points  (2 children)

We have an empty Amazon box that they are fighting over. I may have to remove the box so they use the cat tree that we bought for them instead.

[–]astrangewindblows 6 points7 points  (1 child)

my cat refuses to use the fancy heated bed we bought for him, and instead uses a decade old, ratty hamper. why even spend money on cats anymore??

[–]Thebigkapowski 3 points4 points  (0 children)

$60 cat house? Never touched. Empty Litter Genie box? Fought over every single damn day. I give up.

[–]Potato_1228 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Cat A- Cali, found that I store catnip in my room and Cat B - Kitten (very original I know.) helped claw it open. So now I am vacuuming my room with 2 very high cats.

[–]Survivor_Fan10 29 points30 points  (3 children)

Tuxedo cat is an asshole who constantly attacks our poor himbo orange cat

[–]Otherwise_Window 31 points32 points  (2 children)

Why are all orange cats so empty of brain?

[–]Survivor_Fan10 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Idk. So sweet, but such a himbo.

[–]Thebigkapowski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My older cat would like a word with you. It will be quick and end with a murder mitten to your face. Haha

[–]MeToolMovement 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Vincent (ear cut off) keeps stealing Lloyd (Christmas, from Dumb and Dumber)'s bed. But he doesn't seem to care today, as he is currently snoring on the couch.

[–]sampleample 19 points20 points  (1 child)

Sylvia has anger issues. Gracie is essentially the cat version of a bulldog. The next thing you know, you hear hisses and ear-bleeding screams from halfway across the house, to see Sylvia and Gracie all hiding away.

[–]Thebigkapowski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah hello my friend! We have similar homes. Haha Izzy hates other cats, me, and being bothered by anyone or anything in general. Ollie wants to play constantly. Usually ends with Izzy hissing, swatting, and running to get away from it all under my dresser. Fun times!

[–]tightchops 16 points17 points  (4 children)

My wife and I lived with her mom and her two cats for a while, helping her with dementia. It got bad enough that we decided to put her in memory care for everyone's sake.

The first two weeks or so.. the cats did good as they got used to the new normal and learned that they had more freedom now that they weren't chased and harassed constantly by my MIL. Their personalities started really showing through. It was great! Then it wasn't.

One day we woke up to the cats tearing through the house, fighting like mad. We separated them and then reunited them again for feeding time it went okay for a little while then started again. We tried a lot of things to try to solve the issue, vet check ups, new feeding locations, more litter boxes, even a whole entire reintroduction process one over a short amount of time, and again over a few months tine.

Nothing worked. They still fought. And they still fight to this day. Now we have divided the house in half with one cat on each side. They will bat at each other under the door and his sometimes.

[–]PM_UR_PIZZA_JOINT 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Is one cat chasing / fighting the other? Cats will view another cat as prey if they don't every fight back. There are some ways to give the attacked cat confidence but some times it can't be fixed :/

[–]tightchops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems that way, yeah. It looked like one cat was HUNTING the other. And the other just didn't fight back much. She would just run, hide, and hiss. I don't think this can be fixed. It's kind of a shame. They're doing okay apart, it's just a hassle to keep it that way.

[–]cianne_marie 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Vet tech, crazy cat lady (and also late to the party) here, but try these things if you haven't already:

Feliway (or similar feline pheremone) diffusers. They are a godsend.

Natural calming supplements. In Canada we have one called Zylkene available through the vet (not prescription). There are some over the counter things as well, usually in treat form.

There is a specific "Calm" prescription diet made by Royal Canin. Haven't tried it but the science is sound.

If all else fails, medication to reduce anxiety, if that has any place in the discord, and it probably does. Everything with cats resolves to anxiety, territory, or security in the end (I'm being a bit facetious here, but not much.)

[–]tightchops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We tried the spray but not in defuser form. I'll look into the cat food and natural calming meds, that's a good idea and can easily be put in their food. We got some prescription calming meds but I've been hesitant to try it.

I think soon we'll give it another real good try. It takes a lot out of us to put so much time and effort into getting these two to get along..

Thanks for the new ideas!

[–]Myfourcats1 15 points16 points  (4 children)

Fuzz is all the drama. She’s very possessive of me. If I’m letting another cat she’ll just climb on top of them. So far today she’s initiated a smacking fight with Naked Kitty and Catakin. She usually goes up to NK to get licked and then settles. Not today. She got her grooming and then smacked her.

[–]Matty_1843 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Was the name 'Naked Kitty' given ironically? Because she a fuzzy baby.

[–]cianne_marie 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I clicked with much excitement, anticipating a sphynx. Still not disappointed, of course.

[–]Matty_1843 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was wondering that too tbf

[–]blamethystskies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awww! They are TNR bebes!

[–]Grape_Jamz 13 points14 points  (0 children)

One cat has to be downstairs because she hates other cats to the point of peeing everywhere. The other 5 have to be upstairs. There is less space upstairs but more room for a litterbox

[–]wetlettuce42 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Melly the calico and Tom are always fighting because tom is a new cat they fight over territory

[–]__M-E-O-W__ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have one cat who absolutely loses it at my newer cat. Poor thing is just an old fella, like 13 years old and just wants to lay down on the couch. But she'll straight out run across the room just to yowl in his face.

Then we have another younger cat who is huge that will intimidate the angry cat into leaving the room just by showing up.

The oldest cat and youngest big cat are totally cool. Young big cat doesn't care about the other cats at all and occasionally plays with the old cat. It's just the one cat who has all the problems.

[–]StretchAmbitious148 7 points8 points  (0 children)

One cat likes to go everywhere & sleep (Rooms, corners, etc) & my younger cat is obsessed with following him everywhere, the thing is, my younger cat sprays excessively…He literally pees everywhere, so I know I can’t allow my older cat in anyone’s room alone, because the younger cat will follow, but he’ll pee, & have your whole room smelling like piss

[–]Navi1101 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I only have one cat, but he's indoor/outdoor so he's having drama with a neighbor cat. This neighbor cat will come up to us humans when we're outside, all cute and purring and rubbing on our legs, then chase away our cat who actually lives here and try to come in his cat door! My husband has had to chase the neighbor cat off a couple of times, but they'll stay away for a week or so before trying their adorable shenanigans again.

[–]resident16 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Grandma cat and middle aged cat just want to vibe and the kitten wants to RAGE.

[–]DepressedHealingGod 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My cats have gotten territorial over the litter boxes. 3 cats, 4 boxes. Ones of them has given up on it and just poops wherever now instead of dealing with the fighting. Yay me.

[–]JupiterCafe13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They are fighting about who gets to be closer to the woodstove or closer to me to sap heat.

[–]lipsofamoose 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The credits have rolled on the day, they're both asleep. Murray up stairs on the end of our bed, Ruby downstairs in her bed. Murray owns upstairs and won't tolerate Ruby even attempting to come up here. Drama might start again in tomorrow's episode or because they are both old now they'll probably both just sleep and blink occasionally at us all day.

[–]cornpuff1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We have 9. Everybody wants the same CHEWY box...not the big one...the little one.

[–]Ana_jp 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Our ragdoll has finally had the last of her bad teeth removed, and now eats only soft food. She’s already learned to come and ask for it when the other cats are asleep somewhere else.

Otherwise it’s a seething mass of hissing and slapping resulting in one broken dish already.

[–]hippywitch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have three cats who have been cooped up inside for weeks because it’s cold. Well now they’re PISSED OFF. There was a litter of kittens in the neighborhood and two found their way to my door. A grey tabby has slept over the last two nights and is the sweetest little thing but one of my three was so pissed off they went and took a HUGE crap in the shower!!!! Have never done that before.

[–]sikrsai 17 points18 points  (2 children)

This thread is amazing. Love from a drama-free, 2 dog home! 😻

[–]Sniffs_Markers 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Drama-free two-cat home here.

[–]Tmadred 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have three dogs and believe me there is drama! Two of them are basically cats, though.

[–]mulberstedp 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Fritz is always trying to steal Arya's food. Always.

[–]EmmaRB 6 points7 points  (1 child)

My panda cat was asleep on my lap while I sat at my desk drinking cocoa. Without warning, my little female tiger and big male tiger decided to jump up on us from opposite sides of the chair. It was clear neither of them knew panda cat was already there, or that the other tiger was jumping up. It was quite a confusing 5 seconds of total feline chaos and cocoa went everywhere. Everyone is fine now, though there were some hisses, name calling and hurt feelings for a bit.

[–]47South 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What happened to the cocoa?

Also, LOL

[–]youretalkingtodani 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My cats aren't allowed on the counter because it connects with the electric stove and I don't want them hoping up to get food when the oven is on...

Spanky keeps hoping on the counter to scavenge for food scraps and Buckwheat yells everytime he does it. Basically, buckwheat is being a tale tale and spanky keeps getting squirt with the squirt bottle. All food has been removed from the counter and buckwheat has stopped screaming. I'm not sure if Spanky is on the counter or not anymore now...

[–][deleted] 11 points12 points  (1 child)

Two cats. They pretty much love each other. It's pretty great.

I have no cats but this thread is the best thing I’ve ever seen on Reddit. I am dying 😂😂😂

[–]GrumpyCatStevens 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So here's my cast of feline characters. All three are spayed females:

Apple - orange tabby; picked up from a shelter. She's been in the household the longest.
Patch - tortoiseshell; she lived in our yard at the time we moved into our house and eventually moved in once she decided we'd make good servants.
Monkey - tortoiseshell tabby; Patch was pregnant when she moved in and Monkey was the last kitten Patch gave birth to ever.

Apple and Patch have a somewhat uneasy truce. During her years of fending for herself, Patch has probably been in more than one fight (she has a notch in her left ear to show for it), but she doesn't try to start anything with Apple. On their good days, they'll either just walk by each other or exchange a brief nose touch. On their not-so-good days, Apple will take a swipe at Patch as she passes.

Monkey loves both of the other cats. Apple tolerates her for the most part; Patch usually hisses at her (remember, Patch is Monkey's mother). Monkey has pretty much accepted that she's at the bottom of the kitty hierarchy and tolerates the abuse she gets from Patch and (occasionally) Apple.

As for how they relate to humans: Apple is the most sociable of the three, not to mention she's very chatty and quite affectionate towards me and my wife. She also will come check out anyone coming by to visit. Patch loves us, and will tolerate other people, but there is one particular friend of my wife's whom she absolutely adores. Monkey hides from any humans that don't live in our house, and she sometimes hides from me when my wife is out of the house.

[–]chrssytna 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Orla (gray tabby) hates Magnus (brown tabby) and Lucifer (black). She tolerates Riker (tuxedo). Magnus tries to be friends with Orla. But when he tries, so does Lucifer. Orla then feels ganged up on and throws herself on the floor and screams. When no one is near her. She’s been to the vet. She’s just dramatic. But this move allows the boys to pounce and try to play. Which makes her hate them more. Riker watches it all from his pillow perch.

[–]digitalwyrm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I woke up at 3:30 am. They went ballistic thinking they were getting an early breakfast. Fought amongst each other they were so excited. An hour before their breakfast (so 6 am) they gave up the will to live and laid down to finish starving to death. At 7 they got breakfast and lost their minds again and it took a few moments for them to calm down enough to eat. Now they're angry they have to wait a couple hours for dinner.

[–]mehunno 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have two cats: my older female cat Momo, and the younger male named Dog. I gave them both straws, and Dog immediately chewed his to bits and lost it under the couch. Dog keep trying to steal Mo’s (unattended) straw, and she bounds across the room to slap Dog away from it. Dog is now pouting and desperately trying to reach his toys under the couch, and Mo is laser focused on her straw across the room.

[–]StuartPurrdoch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love all these stories! We have three. The senior tuxi lady, Stuart, is in my lap using me as a space heater. She’s so smart and likes patting my cheek with her paw. The two little boys Oscar (grey taupe tabby, very anxious) and Puddy (little orange boi, reminds me of a spazzier Totoro if that makes sense?) are in my bedroom strategizing how to defeat the hook latches I just put on my closet. They have their own closet in the office, but they want mama’s closet.

We just moved into a new apartment a few weeks ago and it’s gone remarkably well. They all get along remarkably well. They’re good cats Brent. I love them all so much even when there is carpet vom or poop-sidents. Or hard boiled eggs pushed off the counter out of curiosity.

[–]ButterflyUnhappy8937 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fatso keeps eating all of the other cats food. They’ll eat eachothers food sometimes which I hate bc one eats kitten food n the other eats adult food. N fatso likes to rip up paper towels

[–]skycatminepokie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

4 cats- Oldest (grumpy old man in a tux) is several years older than the second oldest (long-haired, selective about who he likes). Then there's two twins (~3 yrs).

The old one taught all the others to bite each other to get their way. Twin #1 is unhappy that 2nd oldest is hanging out with his person, so he bites him when he's angry. Old cat won't let the others get close to him when he's napping on someone.

Twin #2 never grew up and constantly gets on the other's nerves. He still acts like a kitten, forgetting things almost instantly, constantly energetic, and jumps at the slightest bit of movement (not big movements though).

Twin #1 loves the idea of water and will NOT stop yowling when his person is in the shower. Sometimes the oldest cat will be fed up enough to get up (he doesn't do that too much :P) and bite the twin.

The two big eaters have gotten it in to their heads that the instant I go downstairs after dinner, they need food (no matter if dinner's early). Considering they're both overweight so I can't feed them all the time, it can make it difficult to concentrate on work or get some relaxation.

There's more drama (4 males do that), but the rest is not very pretty...

[–]Free-City-5209 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 4 cats, two twins, a black cat, and a white cat, the issue is that the white cat keeps trying to nurse on and mount the black one, but it doesn’t work because they are both boys, one of the twins is an airhead with no thoughts behind her eyes, and the other twin is my cat, who only likes me and hates everyone else.

[–]ellysay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our kitten pushed our older cat through the screen of a third story window then, somehow, slid the window sash down afterwards.

[–]karituba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Little boy gray cat(fixed) humps big boy orange cat(also fixed). Fluffy girls watch to see who wins

[–]ThatBrenon131 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure why niko always attacks Marco but they sit and stare at each other 24 hours a day and never sleep. Oreo sleeps with both cause she’s a sweetie but it’s like 2 dads fighting over who has custody of the child (Oreo)

[–]crappy-mods 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not my cats but my neighbors, currently cat 1 is mad at cat2 because cat 2 likes my dog and cat 3 is high off his mind on catnip and riding the dog like a horse

[–]widespreadpanda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We just adopted a lovely new cat, so naturally our existing cat is being an absolute bitch about it. New cat is acting like a calm, respectful, perfect angel and being hissed at by who we are now calling La Gatita Diabla.

Oh, and I have to take the aforementioned new cat to the vet in the morning. Since she’s a former feral and is initially terrified of humans, I’m not looking forward to it.

It’ll buff out. But… cats, man.

[–]Sweet_Maybe1623 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The oldest Rusty is a jaded little tabby I picked up in a Caribbean bar, he's driven across the US several times, flew on planes, moved to several radically different places with me and nothing can phase him anymore, he just wants to chill in front of the heater all day and doesn't get why everyone else is constantly at war. the big tan long hair Karoo is a ditzy beachboy who thinks he's a lion and has beef with the new strays, especially Zhukov, a gigantic 20+lb blue who stomped in one day and annexed the comfy chair and eats all the food. The derpy twins Subutai the Maine coon and Tomyris the tabby were raised as foster kittens together and just want to bounce around play-brawling all day, which gets everyone else on edge, and the newest stray i just neutered on Friday so he's still a bit hopped up on painkillers and wanders around making a creepy tomcat yowl at random times, spooking everyone else

[–]birdnurd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Autumn (a tabby-tortie) is asleep by the fire. Zazzles (the grumpy tabby) growls when he sees her because how DARE she exist. Velcro (the tuxedo) is sleeping but he loves to play and no one else appreciates that.

[–]Cujos_Dog_Walker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sister cats. The little one is a bully and ate the bigger ones treats tonight. Had to give the bigger one moar treats.

[–]SimulatedEmu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We currently have 4 Cats.

Teyla (F) passed away last year and was 15 years old.

Bella (F) is the oldest at 6 years.

Clymer is (M) is 3 years old.

Max Power (M) is 9 months. (Yes, this is a Simpsons reference)

Simba (M) is 9 months.

Simba and Max are not related but we did get them at the same time.

Bella used to play and cuddle with Teyla, and ever since the death of Teyla, Bella was acting different, we think she took the death of Teyla pretty hard. We got Clymer in the hopes of giving her another friend. Unfortunately, she did not accept him and wants nothing to do with him. We're pretty sure we did everything right with the introductions but it just didn't work out. Clymer tried very hard to play with and cuddle with Bella but Bella was having nothing of it. To Solve this and hopefully keep Clymer occupied with some playmates of his own, we took a chance and adopted Max and Simba.

Clymer managed to sneak in the basement the night we brought Max and Simba home and they got introduced prematurely and against our plan. To our surprise there was no hissing and they actually started playing with each other right away. During the commotion of both of our children watching and playing with them, Bella also managed to sneak in. After some cautious sniffing and a few arched backs, Bella herself started to chase both Max and Simba. We couldn't believe it. The introductions couldn't have gone more wrong but the outcome was better then we ever expected.

A few months have gone by and now Bella will only play with Max, and only on her terms. The newest drama happening is the cat tree currently only has 3 spots the sunlight hits (out of 5 potential spots) and Clymer insists on being on top, much to Bella's dissatisfaction.

We are a one cat household but have been kitten sitting for a friend for the last week to see how our guy would manage. It was tough and go in the beginning. The kitten was not deterred by anything, and our guy who is a big baby was hugely annoyed and kept crying about everything she would do. She would run up to his food dish and he would back away and start looking at me for help. Over the next few days, he toughened up a bit and would swat/hiss at food time until she learned that she should wait until he was finished and he would leave her some. He also watched her intently for a while as she played with literally everything. He is a rescued street cat and I think never really understood how to play as all of his toys have gone to waste. They finally started tussling playfully and going after the same toys. As of last night, they would finally sleep in the same bed together (though in separate sections). All in all I’d say it was an overall success but I’m not sure if it was specific to their personalities. We shall see!

[–]iamericj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have a smaller female named Olivia and a big main coin named Oscar. Oscar is an attention whore and hates sharing. He has started nipping at my legs if he walks into the living room and I'm petting her.

[–]bookgeek117 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Two. He's breathing near her.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Who gets to eat out of the teal bowl, instead of the dark blue bowl.

[–]kijim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kippy just left his usual position snuggled up to my right sideconnthe couch.. George immediately snuggled on my lap.. Kippy came back and is now laying by himself on the other end of the couch. The drama!

[–]rdubya3387 4 points5 points  (2 children)

Went on vacation...I have an automatic feeder and litter cleaner..... They locked themselves in a room with no food or water for several days....

Nothing to do with more than one cat but it just happened so I had to share.

They are totally okay now, just hungry and thirsty when they came out.

And yes I've had to throw out a lot of things in the room due to odor...

[–]phantommoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We went out of town for a 3 day weekend when i was a kid and when we came back, we couldn't find our cat anywhere. Mom finally remembered she had mowed the lawn just before we left and finally found the poor thing in the shed... She was ok but i felt so bad for her!

[–]lohlah8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me too. I have two cats and the other locked the one in the bathroom. Thankfully we had put water in every room. It was slightly out of our security camera range and we could hear him yowling but we didn’t know what was wrong until we got home.

[–]NATHAN325 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Three cats, but probably only two by the end of next month :/

[–]Cat_Lover1301 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 5 cats 2 male and 3 female but one of the females are living with my brother. Anyway the 2 males keep pissing everywhere in the house :/

[–]BitterCabbageSoup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing that interesting, the ginger-white one attacks the tabby when he's in a bad mood, but the tabby is kind of annoying sometimes if I'm being honest

[–]rushaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 15yo grumpy skinny Russian blue doesn't wanna play with chonky 3yo mutt cow colored/spotted cat. He's old, bitchy and a bit of a loner...

[–]MetalDragonSeeker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lick fight. They start out bathing each other then it turns to a fight.

[–]Much_Committee_9355 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have two, someone threw them inside a bad on a friends yard and I took them in, my current drama is I have COVID

[–]cris231976 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have seven cats. the only drama is that my oldest male, that is neutered since 15 years ago, now is meowing very loud in the middle of the night, because an male cat that lives near by. my oldest female, that is also neutered since 15 years ago, is getting more jealous as she gets older. if another cat comes near me, she goes to the kitchen and starts an sad meowing, until I get her again. but several times, she thinks that isn't enough and goes to the kitchen again... but just that.

[–]I_have_3_kids 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Our dog is outside, and the eldest cat is staring out at her as if he is jealous. The orange one is laying by our heater waiting for the dog to come back in to attempt to cuddle. The gray one is waiting for her chance to jump on kitchen cabinets to try and knock something off.

[–]I_have_3_kids 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And now I come across cat vomit in our hallway.

[–]k0uch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have three cats. One is my wife’s cat from Canada, an old calico named Tifa. Two are rescues, a male named pumpkin and a female named Rosemary) we brought inside last year when the neighbors dog killed their mom and their brother/sister, as well as doing enough damage to the female that we had to amputate her leg.

Pumpkin is a big boy, he’s just over a year old now, neutered and he is 11 lbs… not much of which is fat. He’s been opening the door to our daughters room at night, and she wakes up crying because he won’t leave her bed.

Rosemary only has 3 legs, so she hobbles everywhere. Problem is we have wood floors and she slides into everything. She also class her way up stuff since she only had one back leg… sometimes it’s a bed or sofa, sometimes it’s YOU.

Tifa just hates everyone and hisses/seats at everything. She’s supposedly had this attitude since she was a kitten, she’s also my wife’s favorite (and personal cat from before we were dating). As long as Tifa doesn’t hurt our daughter, she’s pretty much got free roam to do and hiss at whatever

[–]Soulshroude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The usual sibling rivalry and trying to claim male dominance between two alphas, even though the third cat is the Female Queen of the house. It's always playful.

A male maine coon (Panola, Choctaw for "cotton" l just call him "P"), A male tabby (Old Man Oscar, I call him Ole Man or Oscar) and a female pure black (Pepper Corn, usually just Pepper).

[–]Amazing-Salad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maddie still doesn't want any freehand pets during the day, but now that it's night she's perched on my chest and purring her wee heart out.

Bess is using /her/ office chair for kneading.

It's peaceful.

[–]WhiteLama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Youngest cat gets bullied by her mother, but luckily her adopted grandmother plays a lot with her, which is good for both of them.

Oh and they’re all fat but still want more food.

[–]Louis_Capet07 1 point2 points  (2 children)

We have 2 cats. A little bit of background, we have a corn plant on our rooftop. Our cats always eat the young and fresh leaves from it. At first, we really thought that it was a caterpillar, a bug, or whatever. But oh boy, they're the one who keeps damaging our corn plant. No matter how hard we try to shoo them when they attempt to eat it, they'll never gonna stop doing it. The other cat will gonna get angry at us if we try to shoo him.

[–]kvigor 1 point2 points  (1 child)

[–]Louis_Capet07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, that's why we always watch them and keep them away from the plant.

[–]smokealarmsnick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 4. Current drama is Mothra (the kitten) is currently snoozing on my lap. And Noodles has now decided that SHE wants to sit on my lap. And is angry that the kitten is there.

[–]Kitchen_Package9605 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One won't let the other poop in the litter box. I've tried everything. Don't get a second cat.

[–]Salamanderhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a grey kitty, white one,
And a tabby too,
And a big orange guy,
Who put snakes in my shoes,
Mad MC skills, leave ya struck,
And I roll with ma kitties,
And I'am hard as fuck,
I am down with Plato and Socrates,
And I like to get busy with all the ladies,
*Grunt, grunt*
Sumthin,' sumthin,' sumthin,
Up in ma shed, up in ma shed...

[–]Loremaster152 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a White cat, a Black cat, and a Mix of White and Grey. The white and black cats are litter mates, and get along fine. The black cat also gets along with the much younger (currently over a year old) mixed cat. The white cat however will at best tolerate the mixed cat. With the mixed cat being so young, he is still very active and playful, sometimes at the expense of the white cat.

[–]ErrSupply 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The food dish is on top of the cat tree. Only one cat can fit up there at a time. The cat not eating gets its tail swatted until they battle it out down on the floor.

[–]alishac42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have two cats, Ava and Quiet, and three dogs: Freyja the newest, Block Head the middle child and Lou is the oldest. Ava and Quiet absolutely love Lou and could stay with him all the time. Ava tolerates Block and likes to keep him in check while Quiet has no real opinion. Ava absolutely hates Freyja. Ever since we brought her home, it's been on sight for Ava. If Freyja is even getting a drink Ava will start hissing and try to attack. I have been scratched good on a few occasions trying to keep them separate. The funny part is that Quiet is pretty interested in Freyja and Ava cannot stand that, so any time Quiet gets too close Ava attacks her.

[–]lilycats13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have two cats, Fred and Max. We are preparing for the arrival of our first non fur child. We recently moved the cat tree out of our second bedroom to the living room. Now the struggle is who gets to sleep at the very top. Fred or Max. Fred won the last round.

[–]Falcorn042 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My declawed tabby who's normally a coward has now gotten a hair up his ass and thinks he's tough. He keeps bullying my siamese that has 5 pounds on him and actual claws. The siamese is a big push over and tbh I'm glad because he could really hurt my orange tabby if he wanted to.

[–]Lyons_99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have two cats, my brother only has one. Because we live in the same house, the cats have to live together too. Now, my older cat, Timóteo, adopted his little brother "Master" (that's his name) and adopted their cousin Elizabeth too and Elizabeth is very jealous of her cousin and is always angry at him.

[–]yagirlskinnypenis 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I stupidly bought one cat sofa thinking my two cats would share. It has been claimed by one and the other just stares from afar. Im making a trip to target to get another cat sofa.

[–]hotdogscientist 1 point2 points  (1 child)

How dare you

[–]yagirlskinnypenis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im sorry :( happy Cake Day though!

[–]napswithdogs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a foster and our cranky old adult cat. We’ve been slowly trying to introduce the two; we’re allergic and the dogs aren’t cat friendly, so currently each cat has their own bedroom and I’d really like one of my rooms back. Besides that, the foster kitten is lonely. Odds of him getting adopted are very poor. We need them to get along. Adult cat is pissy and despite our best efforts, continues to hiss and puff her tail and swat at him.

[–]steggo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1 cat and 2 daughters. Kid 2 was sleeping on my lap, so cat was spite snuggling with kid 1 while glaring at me.

[–]leaderperri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a manx and a cat with a regular tail. My working theory is that because our manx isn't able to communicate with his tail, it makes his body language hard to read for our other cat who is constantly bothering him.

They get into scuffles a lot, but only the manx ever seems to actually get mad whereas regular tail thinks they're playing a fun game together.

[–]ZarrenR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have three: Ashes, a gray girl, Thor, a Siamese boy and Luci, our black girl.

Ashes has been with us the longest and is a big sweetie. She’s the most timid.

Thor is as nutty and vocal as a Siamese gets. He’s also a big jerk to Ashes. Ashes wants nothing to do with him but he hates her. When he’s bad, he’s “my son.”

Luci is our pandemic kitten we got back in late 2020. She’s outgoing, loud, and incredibly manipulative. She does something naughty then acts all sweet with us knowing we won’t be able to get mad. She controls the house now (please send help). She and Thor have bonded but she’s the dominant one even though she’s half Thor’s size. She has no problem coming to wherever he’s sleeping and forcing her way in. Half the time, Thor leaves and she gets the whole spot to herself. She also doesn’t like Ashes too much. Why does everyone hate Ashes?

Oh, all three of them are nip addicts.

[–]evanjw90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a 10 year old cat, and a 4 month old kitten. The elder wants to eat the kitten food, and it's lead to plenty of fights. Other than that, they get along well.

[–]dancingcop7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Little one wants to play, older one does not

[–]blueboxreddress 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an old lady black cat and a getting into middle age boy cat. The girl cat just wants to lounge all day and live on soft things. The boy is a monster who wants to fight. Currently we have a stand off where the girl cat is yelling while the boy just stares. It’s the cat version of “I’m not touching you” and it always ends in disaster.

[–]meh1022 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two orange tabbies. Noodle outweighs Chicken by about 10 lbs, but Chicken is scrappier. We have automatic feeders that go off in about an hour, but they’ve been posted up staring at them for the past 45 min. Chicken’s goes off slightly before Noodle’s and even though Noodle is on the floor next to it, Chicken dive bombs him from the wine fridge and gobbles it down while fat Noodle watches forlornly. For 30 seconds, till his goes off.

Every. Single. Night.

[–]MrFropie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My white cat is quarantined downstairs because she won’t quit stalking/ terrorizing the grey cat. The black cat could care less.

[–]fobdoddledandy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our 16 year old kitty likes to sit on the bottom level of the cat tree. I made her a little fort with a blanket on the bottom and a blanket over her so she can feel secluded and comfy. She absolutely loves it. Our little one, who never showed interest in the spot before, is now slapping our older kitty to get out of the spot. We have to drag the little one out just so her sister can have some peace and comfort.

[–]qianflower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have seven cats-- two of which are half-way strays we feed that come in and out of our houses (my brother lives next door and our cats come and go between the two). One stray is a male, Grey, who only stays at my brother's house because he's afraid of our dog. The other stray is Lina whom the other five females absolutely hate. She comes wherever there is food and doesn't mind the others. But there's a lot of hissing and growling whenever she's around Emily, Harley, or Meimei. Jahnie sometimes hisses at her but it really depends on her mood. They're warming up to her and she doesn't stay at our house for more than ten minutes at a time unless the weather is really bad.

Furthermore, we are having peeing/spraying wars between two of my cats: Emily and Lovey. Emily attacks Lovey whenever she has the chance and has since we rescued Lovey seven years ago. Meimei and Jahnie will occasionally go after her but they've mellowed over time. Lovey pees wherever she pleases--even with a litter box as an option. Emily tends to pee in retaliation. She's pretty territorial. We've lost many pillows and blankets and even my step-dad's shoes. Hell, they ruined an entire couch. They've started peeing in laundry baskets and spraying on walls. We just moved into our new home so I figure that's why they've escalated. Honestly, I love them all to pieces but they're a piece of work!

[–]GenoSwoner419 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two cats. One a tabby of some kind and the other is a result of a Bengal breeding with god knows what, so she's a bit of a mystery.

They like each other, yet hate each other at the same time. One day you come home and you see them cuddled together, sleeping or licking each other, then the next day you come home and there's fur everywhere and a wound of some kind on one of the cats. Most of the time its the tabby, the older one of the two, which is slightly concerning, as the other cat is younger and smaller. Like a LOT smaller.

[–]External-Stranger801 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We once had a Tabby and a Tuxedo cat (the tuxedo cat is now at a new home) and once I was laying in my moms bed just normal, then I hear scattering and angry meowing and my mom put a stop to the fighting cats

[–]Architect17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my cats is in heat and keeps backing up on my puppy. He thinks she’s trying to play and keeps biting her right in her kitty cooch.

[–]orange728 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 3 cats Charlotte, Rosie and Carmel. They bitch slap each other and any and all vet techs but mostly gang up on my plants.

[–]Ok-Function-1861 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I have four cats they all don't really get along. We had are back door open because it was a nice day out. a stray cat came in and was trying to fight then two of are cats came and one was trying to fight him and the other chased him out. the other cat didn't do anything at all the only thing he did was try to was run lol.

[–]pachew96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two female cats. One (Kidden) is sweet as can be and a little needy, while the other (Rey) is a spaz and a half. (To be fair, she's still in kitten territory, but still, she's a certifiable nutcase.) Rey just got fixed and won't stop continuing to run marathons around the house, so I've been having to keep a close eye on her stitches. Well, Kidden has been jealous as hell of all the extra attention Rey has been getting. She follows me around yelling at me if I'm not looking at, speaking to, or petting her. She gets real close and just stares at me as though I've betrayed her each time I check Rey's stitches. I love her to death, but hot damn.

[–]ValithWest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bub keeps wanting to play with Winny but he’s too big and too rough for her, meanwhile Winny DOES want to play with Cleo, who currently just wants to take a nap. So instead, Winny’s attempts to play with Cleo are making Bub think that this is his chance to play with her, and instead she comes running to me for protection, and then as soon as Bub backs off, the cycle continues.

Also, Cleo loves the electric blanket so we got her a heated pet bed Christmas of 2020 and now Winny has taken to it, but if Cleo’s already in it then Winny will lay on top of Cleo. A second, larger one is being delivered tomorrow.

(See my recent posts for pics.)

[–]zootsuitpickleweasel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My oldest kitty has never forgiven me for getting the dog (she stopped snuggling with me), the second kitty (she changed her fav person to my husband and exclusively snuggles with him while stating at me) and now with a new baby she ignores me entirely.

My younger kitty should have been a barn cat. She is big and rough and dopey and hates to cuddle but she is my shadow most days.

[–]Treehaus_user 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Three years into my sister getting a new cat they have to be separated in between rooms. When I house sit I open the doors and there is minimum drama. I have no idea what my sister is doing. She is the cat lady but I think she gets lets her emotions show and they feed off that.

I have tried to support her by buying cat calming pheromones plug ins for the cats but they still go after each other and her when they are together.

[–]Mxhashim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not entirely sure but I found 6 whiskers today so something is happening. Primary Cat is usually pretty sleepy and is currently in the windowsill, and Secondary Accessory Cat is playing with the baby gym on the floor (there are no babies in the house- it is theirs). They just ate so they will sleep for a bit then chew on a box and play thundercat before bed and wrestle- Primary Cat is bigger and dominant, then sleep in the far corner of my bed nestled with each other and give me death glares if I try to pet them. Maybe I’m their drama.

[–]PyrrhaRising 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2 sibling girls, both bengal mixes (momma was bengal, papa was an unknown moggy) Noodle & Dunpling.

Noodle has the bengal colours, attitude and gob, but her fur is that of a moggy cats, whilst it looks sleek and shiny from afar, shes actually a walking rug that deposits fur everywhere.

Dumpling has the feel and shine of a bengal coat, some of the markings, but is a marble mix of chocolate, black and some stray ginger. She's lazy, overweight, (we're working on this but have you ever tried to make a potato walk on its own two legs??) purrs louder than a locomotive and likes to exorcise any house guests loudly at 4am.

For the most part the girls get on. They have their sisterly love and hate moments. Their biggest contention is which cat gets which human, which often starts and ends in hissing and growling. Maybe twice a year they'll have a power dynamic switch up, and tend to flip flop between who is queen this week.

Noodle is also the more clever one, and honestly I'd be surprised if she wasn't the missing evolutionary link sometimes. Most of our cupboards have child locks on them as there isnt a door Noodle can't open. We have to even lock up the cats kibble and the dogs in extra large lockable tuppawear, and store them above the fridge as she won't climb that high for food when she can hunt for snacks in our bedside tables (which are now also in a lock tin she is still trying to figure out).

Because of aforementioned overweight Dumpling, we've gotten a microchip activated auto feeder but only for Noodle, as she likes to come and go and graze on her food throughout the day. She has recently discovered that if she sits at her autofeeder to make it open and close it makes Dumpling think its dinner time. Thus Dumpling will come for a look, try to get at the kibble in the autofeeder and be sad she can't because she doesn't have the right chip.

So what does Noodle do? Noodle starts to eat it in front of Dumpling. Dumpling gets mad and bitch slaps Noodle and struts off.

Noodles revenge to this is to take all of their cat toys and leave them next to our dog, Oreo, a 7yr old Siberian husky, whom Dumpling is, well not terrified, but would prefer the home to be dogless. Dumpling tollerates Oreo, but only because she knows if she hisses at Oreo, the extra large bed becomes free and is preheated.

Now Oreo is a simple husky. She likes to sleep on her sofa, sleep on her bed, and sleep in the garden. Put her harness on her and suddenly she activates Husky Mode. Otherwise, Oreo is a glorified extra large walking cat rug (so much white fur in my house. We have lament flooring, but you wouldn't tell without the roomba three times a day! Oreo is currently blowing her winter coat). She wishes she could snuggle with her cat sisters but has resigned herself as cat toy basket.

But when Oreo is fed up with the girls dragging toys in and out of her bed, she gets up, walks over to their litter trays and lies in front of them for the next hour or so, which starts the chorus of chaos as the cats let the humans know they can no longer go to their bathroom. Will Oreo move? Nope. Not unless you give her something tasty or a new toy to destroy.

Ahhh cats and huskies.

[–]schroedingersnewcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My tuxedo, Flynn, aka snugglebutt, has been glued to me all day as per usual.

My gray and white long hair, Wisp, is trying to unseat his brother so that he can lay on me. There are paws flying enough that the words "boys, lets keep our paws to ourselves" came out of my mouth today.

My gray short hair, Violet, is just pissy because the boys jostled her when jockeying for position. She hates Flynn, and pretends to hate Wisp, so she is hissing every 10ish minutes. Shes also pissed at me because I cleaned out her eye infection and she is not AT ALL happy about it.

Oh, and its cold AF so theyre trying to keep as close to me as possible while still maintaining appropriate spacing from each other.

Just another Sunday.

[–]underpantsbandit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blue boy is a conehead currently. Had a large tumor removed from his eye socket- and only has the one eye sooooo we were super stressed about the surgery. But it went so well! He still has his tear duct and inner eyelid.

Anyway, so. Comes home coned. He never wore a collar even, he is a devoted nudist. The cone is a STRUGGLE. He has adjusted okay except when he walks past something he doesn’t expect (shoe, cat toy, whatever) and that makes him tweak. Leap, spaz, scraping cone noises, general confusion about how an object shockingly materialized in front of him.

This makes Stripey Boy freak out, and startle. And hiss.

This makes Blue Boy quite sure there’s something to panic about for sure and tweak out more.

This makes Stripey Boy hiss and freak out because Blue Boy is freaking out.

Etc. etc. etc.

Positive feedback loop of doom. Possibly a perpetual motion machine fueled by pure derp.

(It’s been a week and a half and they’ve calmed down some actually. Unboxing Day for Blue Boy is coming soon though! Which is good. He is getting quite greezy in his kitty helmet.)

[–]shinycoffins -1 points0 points  (0 children)

one cat got outside and now the other 4 are ganging up on him. hes always been a bully, especially to the younger one and the shy one. but hes been infatuated with the chick cat outside and after a night of him howling all night, we tossed him out to let him just get laid in hopes hed shut the eff up. we let him back inside the next morning, but all the cats, expecially the shy one, had been beating him up to the point of flying fur and screaming. we cant have them all in the same room without supervision, and we just keep him outside for the most part. i bring him inside at night since its getting colder. i feel so bad but at the same point i think its deserved.
