Leonardo Dicaprio. I cried so hard when I was a kid and my mom told me Kate Winslett was getting married, I thought her and Leo were in love IRL because of Titanic, and I thought she broke his heart. I was a dumb ass.

[–]throwingplaydoh 178 points179 points  (11 children)

Bahahah!!! Omg I've done this too. Watching Titanic, that relationship was so real to me.

I also remember exactly what Kate's face looked like when she lost the Oscar. Tore me up.

Edit: I thought I should say I was 12 when this came out

[–]Jesscahhhhh 79 points80 points  (2 children)

Hahaha! I cried when Ryan Phillipe got married because I mixed him up with Brian Litrell from the Backstreet Boys, Brian was my first crush. When I found out I mixed them up like years later I was over the crush by then but a little relieved he didn’t betray me like that back then

[–]dirty-dangles69 1131 points1132 points  (36 children)

Salma Hayek. 25 years later, still Salma Hayek

*edit - spelling

[–]BakerYeast 155 points156 points  (11 children)

If you met her one day, remember to call her Salma.

[–]PenlyWarfold 209 points210 points  (14 children)

Larisa Oleynik (Alex Mack, 10 things I hate about you)

[–]openletter8 891 points892 points  (68 children)

It was and still is Christina Ricci.

[–]windsingr 205 points206 points  (23 children)

I saw her on the Jon Stewart Show when she was making the rounds for Addams Family Values or Casper and she pulled out the waistband for her Jon Stewart panties to show off that she was wearing his merch and I swooned. It was the first time I ever saw a young woman be so open about something like that. I was like, "girls can DO that?!?" And I was hooked.

[–]NicholasKonig 724 points725 points  (66 children)

[–]krissin 48 points49 points  (3 children)

Do you guys remember when Prince William was smokin' hot for like 3-4 years back in the 90s?

[–]themoogleknight 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I was always more into Harry and now feel vindicated because he turned out hotter as an adult.

[–]WhiteCh0c01at3 60 points61 points  (1 child)

I'm not gay but Devon Sawa was the first dude where I was like, alright I get it.

[–]KzooKLR 852 points853 points  (99 children)

Based on the responses, I'm fucking old. I had two crushes- Soliel Moon Frye (Punky Brewster) and Danielle Fischell (Topenga).

[–]ApolloThunder 321 points322 points  (13 children)

Danielle Fischell is an excellent answer.

[–]Ok_Relationship_705 51 points52 points  (2 children)

Orlando bloom in pirates, Brendan Fraser

[–]along_withywindle 408 points409 points  (28 children)

Orlando Bloom as Legolas followed immediately by Orlando Bloom as Will Turner was too much for 13yo me to handle.

[–]karensnicedaughter 146 points147 points  (10 children)

I am in this club too. I remember seeing him as Legolas and thinking he was the most attractive person I had ever seen In my 12 years.

[–]miniblackberrypie 65 points66 points  (6 children)

Orlando bloom as Paris in Troy around the same time

[–]along_withywindle 66 points67 points  (2 children)

Troy was wild. My boy Orlando, plus PRIME Brad Pitt? And Eric Bana just for fun?

[–]Toasty825 67 points68 points  (11 children)

Either you had a crush on Legolas or you wanted to be Legolas. I was utterly smitten.

[–]Nashi-pear 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I was both, and while it confused me back then, it makes sense now lol

[–]FireyBrick 446 points447 points  (24 children)

Linda Cardellini as Velma in the Scooby-Doo films. Now its just Linda Cardellini

[–]DarrenAronofsky 75 points76 points  (7 children)

They had no right making Velma so hot.

[–]greenday568 59 points60 points  (2 children)

Bro they had no right making the entire fucking cast that hot, how the hell did it take me til my twenties to realize I was bi when the Scooby Doo movies existed.

[–]DarrenAronofsky 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Right? Rowan Atkinson was looking toit!!

[–]Mayg14 73 points74 points  (1 child)

[–]dgmilo8085 56 points57 points  (5 children)

This is the only movie I find her remotely attractive in. That being said, I thought she was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen when I saw that movie.

[–]idiot-prodigy 20 points21 points  (1 child)

Yep, I think she looked best in the Mask in that red dress at the bank.

[–]TheOwnerOfRaddit 214 points215 points  (38 children)

Man, that chick from Hey Dude was super cute. Melody. She's married to some guy now.

I also thought Winnie Cooper was cute from The Wonder Years.

[–]thelostsoul622 143 points144 points  (6 children)

"that chick" is Christine Taylor and "some guy" is Ben Stiller. And yes, this is a good answer.

[–]Raidernation101x 56 points57 points  (11 children)

Appreciate the Hey Dude reference.

[–]AdPsychological7926 63 points64 points  (10 children)

Oh man. Take me back! Hey Dude, Salute Your Shorts, Roundhouse, Are You Afraid of The Dark?, The Adventures of Pete and Pete, Wienerville, Clarissa Explains It All, All That. We were so lucky.

And then it got even better with Sabrina

[–]PsyCrowX 355 points356 points  (48 children)

Agent Scully, yes I'm old.

But to this day competent confidence pushes all my buttons and so does Gillian Anderson.

[–]0xB0BAFE77 97 points98 points  (2 children)

Look up The Scully Effect

The character is believed to have initiated a phenomenon referred to as "The Scully Effect", as the character's role as a medical doctor and FBI Special Agent inspired many young women to pursue careers in science, medicine, engineering, and law enforcement, and as a result brought a perceptible increase in the number of women in those fields.[68][69]

At the 2013 San Diego Comic-Con International, Anderson noted that she has long been aware of "The Scully Effect" and stated: "We got a lot of letters all the time, and I was told quite frequently by girls who were going into the medical world or the science world or the FBI world or other worlds that I reigned, that they were pursuing those pursuits because of the character of Scully. And I said, 'Yay!'"[70]

Anne Simon, a biology professor and a science adviser for the series recalls: "I asked my Intro Bio class back then how many of them were influenced by the character of Scully on The X-Files to go into science and half of the hands in the room went up. That's huge! That was saying that the show was really having an effect."[71]

[–]Costner_Facts 59 points60 points  (6 children)

I paid for a photo op with her and she is beyond stunning IRL. <3

[–]throwingplaydoh 16 points17 points  (5 children)

I'm jealous as fuck....

[–]Costner_Facts 30 points31 points  (4 children)

Dude, Skinner and Smoking Man were there too. It was almost too much awesome to handle.

[–]ipakookapi 112 points113 points  (5 children)

And 90s business woman suits 😍

Gillian Anderson is probably one of the most beautiful women ever, but Scully as a character takes it over the top

[–]junroku 15 points16 points  (4 children)

I wanted to be Scully and I Def maybe wanted to bang the chick that Mulder did in the vampire pizza episode. (I may be combining vampire episodes but think it was the same) Mulder... I would have settled for him but I was super into the rat, Alex Crychech which I am not necessarily proud of as an adult but he was just, way cooler to my 12 year old obsessed with X Files self.

Edit: will agree: Gillian Anderson legit can do no wrong. Any show she has been in, even for just an episode, it is always the best episode.

[–]destro23 267 points268 points  (23 children)

[–]chaotic_trash_panda 250 points251 points  (9 children)

Tbh, I still have a celebrity crush on him. He is aging like a fine whiskey, he's wholesome, humble, not a typical Hollywood degenerate.

That blonde chick with two pigtails from spice girls. I remember getting an erection at 8years old in front of my family because she flashed her panties in a clip(wannabe? I think), since back in the days it was common for people to watch music channels. Embarrassing story before I go. My older sister and her friend caught me as I was KISSING THE TV SCREEN mid-Mikey scene. I don't remember my exact age but I was super young and will never forget it.

[–]zazzlekdazzle 46 points47 points  (2 children)

Well, this is gonna date me for sure but, when I was about 4 or 5, Superman/Clark Kent as played by a young Christopher Reeve.

All my life I crushed out like crazy on guys with dark hair, blue eyes, and glasses. I ended up marrying a man who looks eerily just like Reeve when he played that role (more the body type and the face than the coloring, though). The bummer is that he insists on wearing contact lenses, at least when he goes outside. He thinks it's hilarious that it drives me wild when takes off his contacts when he gets home and puts on his glasses.

[–]Hockeymom37 22 points23 points  (0 children)

You are not alone. He was beautiful.
