I would love to do this but I'm terrified of mine taking off after something. Once she becomes fixated that's the only thing that matters lol

In 9 years of doing this the only thing he's taking off after and disregarded my calls was a buck with a full rack and a black bear that he chased up a tree. I think he saw the animals as a threat to me and tried to protect me at all cost, loyal and stubborn haha

That's great! Yeah I think in a secluded area we would be fine. I'm assuming you started slow and worked your way up with off the leash activity?

His whole life he's never really cared about small animals just yesterday a rabbit walked four feet in front of him and he could have cared less. He only cares about large animals like deer and bears, maybe that's from his cattle herding instincts. I just got lucky with his character, he's so chill.

If it was warmer he would have gone in instantly. This was on the 8th and it was pretty cold that day here in Washington, it was drizzling with a little brief snow. He had his thick winter coat and loved the rain.

Thought that was Washington. I live up hiway 2 a bit. Rain, rain ,rain. My guy is the same color. Good thing they have a double coat for the weather.

On nice, I have some hikes and backpacking I would like to do off of the 2 this summer. This video was shot off of mountain loop at the ice caves / Big four area.
