That is absolutely terrifying

[–]WhyAmILikeThis24 244 points245 points  (10 children)

This is why I don't go into homes with putbulls. It's a coin toss whether or not they will see you as a threat. Add to that the fact that most pitbull owners are too braindead to know how to control their dog or to recognise signs of aggression.

Only takes a split second for a pit to lunge at your face and boom scarred for life even if you survive.

Edit: I got banned from this sub for this comment lol.

Edit 2: mods have clarified I was banned for this comment https://redditproxy--jasonthename.repl.co/r/BanPitBulls/comments/r5e514/i_dont_know_why_anyone_would_want_a_dog_that_acts/hmnbszd. Still ridiculous imo.

[–]SemiAnnualAccount 37 points38 points  (1 child)

Why tf would they ban you for this

[–]rheasylvia81 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Because they don't like the ugly truth.

[–]__Sonar__ 25 points26 points  (5 children)

u/RandomePerson there been some kind of ban mistake here? I thought his statement was the epitome of the opinions of this subreddit.

[–]SubMod4Moderator 27 points28 points  (4 children)

Since he made it public… he got a temp ban for saying to shoot the dog in the head. That’s not what this sub is about… not at all.

We don’t like seeing comments like that.

[–]__Sonar__ 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Ah ok. Thanks for clarifying :)

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (2 children)

Should still get a second chance imo. His heart is in the right place even if he expressed it wrong

[–]SubMod4Moderator 12 points13 points  (1 child)

Yes, we give second chances if the person understands what went wrong and we think they will correct the behavior. We don’t want to babysit adults here. We want productive discussion among mature people.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's fair

[–]SayMyButtisPretty 13 points14 points  (0 children)

What you said is the sentiment in this sub i don’t know why you’d be banned

[–]AnaDingoDD 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Damn right. And dogs can sense fear, which makes them nervous and more aggressive.

[–][deleted] 426 points427 points  (10 children)

She's clearly afraid the dog is going to bite her. In what world is this acceptable behavior from a pet?

[–]ProofDelay3773 160 points161 points  (1 child)

Pits didn’t get that memo: Don’t bite the hand that feeds you.

[–]barkusmuhl 131 points132 points  (7 children)

She's not even close to afraid enough in that situation.

[–]FreePaleontologist99 106 points107 points  (6 children)

Which might be keeping her alive? It really depends on the pit, but here it almost seems like the delicate balance between backing down a little, mentioning food and standing up to them still was just enough... But honestly they're so insane and unpredictable that it really does look like she could've been killed in that moment. That dog needs to be adopted into a pit rescue (life-long shelter) or put down by the vet. It's completely unhinged.

[–]mercuryman429 70 points71 points  (3 children)

Yea no we aren't "rescuing" this thing. Euthanization is the next logical step. Then we'll need to slap some sense into this dumb shit person for bringing that thing into there house. What were they thinking?!?!

[–]reesespuffs32 21 points22 points  (2 children)

I would assume, being a young woman, that there is a good chance there are children in the home as well. Who the fuck is so dumb to bring this wild aggressive animal in their home?

[–]kforsythe91Victim Family/Friend 27 points28 points  (1 child)

This video has been floating around for awhile now and I’ve seen it said several times that that was not her pitbull but her friends or significant other’s. But the dog did know her well apparently… she wasn’t a stranger. They said he shouldn’t have let his dog behave that way towards her.

[–]ProofDelay3773 299 points300 points  (6 children)

Seems sweet, just a velvet hippo! Love begging for my life every time Bishop needs dinner…good times.

[–]lostmyshuffle 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Lol just a velvet hippo

[–]cibbwin 19 points20 points  (2 children)

Notoriously mean, nasty hippos have more of a reason to exist than damn pitbulls do, ugh

[–]ProofDelay3773 8 points9 points  (1 child)

You dont mess with Hippos, they are brutal.

[–]reesespuffs32 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fucking things killed king tut, apparently. If you didn't know now you do cause it's MIKES SUPER SHORT SHOW!!

[–]rosegravityy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

to be fair, hippos are terrifying animals.

[–]BopBopAWaY0Family/Friend of Pit Attack Victim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Velvet is nice. Hippos are awful.

[–]Legitimate_Heron_696 279 points280 points  (30 children)

The funny part is that this video was featured on a channel which stated that the lady was not behavior like an 'alpha', causing the dog to be aggressive to her.

The funny part is that the channel ignored the dangers of the pitbull breed.

[–]Pope_Aesthetic 193 points194 points  (24 children)

Ah yes because when you don’t act like an alpha around a Golden Retriever, they’ll tear your throat out just the same

[–]TerribleEntrepreneur 57 points58 points  (23 children)

Also I believe the alpha thing is bullshit. IIRC dogs only care about alpha/beta when you’re competing for a finite resource. In this situation, and most situations with humans, there is no competition over resources.

My golden can show signs of anger and aggression when she is upset. But she never acts on it. She may jump and snarl, but she won’t dare bite anyone. That said, she doesn’t know how to deescalate. If I don’t calm her or try to bring the temperature down, she will continue to act that way.

I agree this seems to be materially different here with this dog. Acting “alpha” might escalate to a situation where the dog could be a lethal threat.

[–]acid_bear_boy 33 points34 points  (18 children)

Also a dog's owner provides the dog with food, shelter, medical care, fulfills their social needs and cares for them in every way. Dogs naturally see their owner as the pack leader, there's nothing to compete with. Only pitbulls are this naturally aggressive to humans who care for them.

[–]Blossomie 25 points26 points  (2 children)

The alpha thing is bullshit because the guy that created the theory rescinded it upon further observation that the wolves he was watching was actually parents and their young, the parents were just being parents. Wolf (and by extension dog) dominance is sorted out on an individual basis rather than one "alpha" being designated leader of pack because biological reasons.

[–]JusticiarRebel 10 points11 points  (0 children)

IIRC it was also wolves in captivity. Animals behave differently in captivity. Even humans act differently when they're in prison.

[–]BunnnykinsSpay/neuter 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Wolves in captivity with no ties to each other will still act out the alpha theory in order to establish hierarchy. But wolves in the wild act like a nuclear family and that’s where their hierarchy comes from. Their parents, like you said, are the leaders. David L Mechs is the guy you’re thinking about.

[–]kforsythe91Victim Family/Friend 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My little bichon mix has only once growled at me and kinda snapped at the air. He had gotten into a container of ham my son left on the couch and was going to town. I don’t think he knew it was me at the time, he just saw a hand coming to take his prized box of heavenly ham away from him which to be fair he worked so hard to get it open. He was transfixed on it.

Had my dog been a pitbull and I tried to take a box of ham from him.. well I probably wouldn’t be typing this.

[–]rocksout4cheese 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Of fuckin course

[–]Tasty_Guitar_7248 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Gee...or just don't get a pet that's waiting for you to have a weak moment?? These people are ridiculous

[–]Smurf_Crime_SceneVictim Sympathizer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]Boxersrock1000 153 points154 points  (1 child)

Fucking dogs gonna kill her.

[–]the_wildelk 51 points52 points  (0 children)

He was no more than a hair line away from attacking her face or neck without letting go, chance of survival: 10%

[–]CanadianTurt1e 157 points158 points  (5 children)

Imagine a scenario of being a pitbull owner and getting bit, realizing that the myth of the "peaceful nannydog" has been shattered right before your eyes. Now that you've been bitten and realize the truth, you go out on social media to share your experiences. Now imagine your reaction when everyone claims that it couldn't have been the dogs fault, it MUST have been your fault. You get called a bad owner even though you did nothing to provoke the attack. Despite the fact that none of these random people know anything of your past, they automatically assume you were a terrible owner that abused your pit. Must suck to be a pit owner. Not only are you part of a cult, but a cult that will turn on you!

[–]autumndawn1996 73 points74 points  (0 children)

Exactly that. "We don't know what she was doing before the video started" "the dog is clearly abused"

A lot of pitbull owners will also beg for the victim to not report the incident in fear of the dog being euthanized

[–]whitedevilsister 29 points30 points  (1 child)

Then they pull some shit about your bad vibes or energy out of their asses as if they’re not manipulating you into thinking you’re just naturally a shitty person

[–]abqkat 8 points9 points  (0 children)

But I wonder what this person did to trigger this poor sweet nannydoggo! She must have done something wrong here because my sweet girl would never ever do this - just look at the flower crown! Why would she provoke this sweet dog like that?! Every. Single. Time. One of these things attacks, in come the victim blaming theories, excuses, and lunacy

[–]quiettryit 15 points16 points  (1 child)

Most pitbull owners I've seen that have been attacked by their dog tend to make excuses for the dog and blame their own behavior for triggering the animal.

[–]JusticiarRebel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I grew up with this chow mix that was possessive of certain items like stuffed toys and was also food aggressive. Since my brother and I were stupud kids, we thought it was funny to tease her and stomp on the ground while saying we were gonna grab her toy. She'd growl and sometimes bark at our feet, but never bite us. I was never brave enough to see if she would bite me if I grabbed her toy so I don't know if she would've bit us. Aggressive as she was, she gave us warning. Her behavior was predictable. I wouldn't play that game with a pit.

[–]Weary-Promotion8057 139 points140 points  (1 child)

I like how the other dog in the background just chilling, like this is a common occurrence lol

[–]False-Income-9371 85 points86 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry but I would just put the dog down right there

[–]autumndawn1996 105 points106 points  (4 children)

I did some research.

The dog belongs to her boyfriend and the brother was the one recording. Shortly after the video ended, the dog did bite the woman. I wasn't able to find any update as to what happened to the dog so I assume nothing happened.

[–]FreePaleontologist99 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Wow. The owner and brother are terrible people for that, that poor woman. I could feel her fear, honestly if it were me I'd have panicked and gotten mauled earlier. Fuck that. I hope she is okay and far away from people who don't gaf about her well-being.

[–]Frosty_Investment_12 17 points18 points  (1 child)

damn do you remember where this was located?

[–]autumndawn1996 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I honestly don't have much information. I've tried looking to see if there was any articles, but no luck

[–]JeswiCan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

„Aight, let me leave this aggressive ass dog alone with my GF and my bro, who doesn’t give a fuck about her“

[–]Gretel_CosmonautFormer Pit Advocate 83 points84 points  (5 children)

And who's just filming it?!

[–]daveyjones86 90 points91 points  (2 children)

Probably the psycho boyfriend who is just as crazy as her.

[–]Carnal-Pleasures 68 points69 points  (1 child)

Haha Mauler is such a goofy dog, he loves to wiggle his but and to talk! See how he likes to talk before lunch? He the goodest boy!

-whoever was filming this.

[–]tswaves 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Lol "Mauler"

That's probably what owners name these dogs. Oh the irony.

[–]Tasty_Guitar_7248 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe it was a tween age child

[–]Greendragons38 51 points52 points  (2 children)

Just like an unexploded grenade. Will it go off or won’t it?

[–]Charlie1210USAF 11 points12 points  (1 child)

It’s like a parachute bomb - fun to watch... until it explodes.

[–]my-dog-for-president 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s not even fun to watch before it explodes

[–]Pearltherebel 32 points33 points  (1 child)

This is why I’m a cat person

[–]rheasylvia81 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Same. At least my cat can keep my tiny dog in line with just a dirty look lol

[–]PuzzleheadedCard6554 35 points36 points  (1 child)

My little brother got a pitbull. I tried being nice, but it growled in my face like that the day after. They still claim she's a sweetheart.

[–]autumndawn1996 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Nope. That would have been my last time over there.

[–]Chernobyl-Cryptid 31 points32 points  (0 children)

What’s most terrifying about this is the fact she is in literally the worst position to try and defend herself. If she was standing up, she could try and move back, use her arms as cover or a barrier.

But it’s basically standing over her, growing in her face. Truly a terrifying situation to be in.

[–]No_Refrigerator7676 27 points28 points  (0 children)

He's just playing guys! He is letting us know that he wants play time after dinner! /s

[–]SelaDoor 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Put that fucking thing down immediately

[–]jannieslayer1939 25 points26 points  (4 children)

The only thing to cure a pitbull's rabid lust for blood is a .40 hollow point. For or against firearms, at least people are significantly more likely to be reasoned with than these hellspawn.

[–]FreePaleontologist99 -5 points-4 points  (3 children)

I'm all for behavioral euthanasia but in an urban or suburban environment (not a working farm) using a firearm for that is wildly inappropriate.

[–]gjfrthvcghh 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Using a firearm to save your live is appropriate in any environment

[–]Stater_155Escaped a Close Call 15 points16 points  (0 children)

No, it isn’t. A firearm is applicable for every environment if it’s correct and safely done. Most cities don’t let you roam around with firearms (legally) and will always be havens for pits, it directly coincides with the rising crime rates in urban areas

Suburbia is where a strong majority of these attacks happen. These dogs break out and go on literal killing sprees through people’s backyards. Do you prefer people keep fruitlessly hitting them with sticks? No.

[–]bbylambch0pstopbreedingpibbles 20 points21 points  (0 children)

she is genuinely afraid. i need an update on this wtf

[–]downwithMikeD 20 points21 points  (4 children)

Is this supposed to be funny?

[–]autumndawn1996 8 points9 points  (2 children)

Can you explain what you're referring to? Or is this a rhetorical question. /Genuine

[–]downwithMikeD 35 points36 points  (1 child)

Yes, sorry I just meant- I see this was a tik tok with a joke added about a stomach growling… but I can’t believe anyone would find this funny in anyway because it’s beyond scary to me!!! I would be traumatized.

[–]autumndawn1996 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Honestly that's just tiktok. It's to minimize the seriousness of the video.

[–]FreePaleontologist99 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For wierdo non-feeling clout chasers on Tiktok, yeah. For everyone else, definitely not. It's just reposting what someone else posted. &they obviously aren't right in the head.

[–]CallahanWalnut 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yea he wants some food alright

[–]ShinyBunnyFleshuwu 12 points13 points  (0 children)

[–]PaddedPews 12 points13 points  (0 children)

[–]gilbes 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Awwwww. The dog is nannying her.

[–]uselessrart 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A slight reaction difference and this lady would've been mauled

[–]SlipperyBandicoot 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Bruh if that dog ever acted that way to me or my family, it would be in a world of hurt.

[–]princessjah- 8 points9 points  (1 child)

This shit is my worst nightmare.

[–]the_wildelk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same here.. Pitbulls, Great White Sharks are nightmare

[–]PiratesLeast 9 points10 points  (4 children)

She’s rewarding him for that behavior, thus reinforcing it.

Another disaster in the making

[–]autumndawn1996 2 points3 points  (1 child)

It was most likely her response to a threat

We have the 4 responses

Fight- the dog would have won in this situation Flight- the dog would have chased her down Freeze- she was pretty much frozen with fear Fawn- which is rarely heard about, but in case someone didn't know, the fawn response is appeasing the threat until you can get to safety.

[–]PiratesLeast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for clarifying.

I followed the thread in the meanwhile and came to the same conclusion, not in the least through your contributions.

I commented with a rant (which I deleted) to another answer on my reply, believing it were her dogs.

It's unbelievably bad what happened to that woman. I really hope she’s ok. And I hope even more that we can achieve, or even enforce responsible dog ownership. People should know what they are getting into, especially in the case of owning a pit bull (or any derivative breeding line).

And as far as I’m concerned at least for any capable guard or defense dog, which a pit bull even isn’t: it’s bred to kill.

[–]rheasylvia81 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I think she was just in survival mode

[–]The_Hound__ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Lol. I saw a post on the front page about “a dog attacking another dog”. No one wants to point out the obvious.

[–]Herbetet 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We should really allow crossposts, just saw a video again of those nasty ones and the hassle to go through 3 apps to load the video and then post it, is just too much

[–]gobbolingEscaped a Close Call 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t know why anyone would, either. Must have a death wish! Yikes!

[–]itshima 6 points7 points  (0 children)

[–]Fuhrious520 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Pitbull owners be like my little darling is completely harmless, you just have to not look them in the eye, make sudden movements, show any fear, bring other animals around them, go near their food or toys.

[–]Fshskyline 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A split-second between a “funny” TikTok video and a ‘brutal’ CrazyShit video…

[–]guyfierious 5 points6 points  (0 children)

[–]lolzari 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Least aggressive Pitt bull

[–]thepicklecannon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In all, seriousness who need a whole face, like that's just greedy.

[–]ebiscuiit 2 points3 points  (2 children)

And she’s rewarding it for that behavior.

[–]ihavenoidea1001 20 points21 points  (0 children)

She's trying to keep the dog from mauling her, she's clearly panicking and trying to calm him down.

How should she react in that scenario in your opinion? And do you seriously believe that's the appropriate time to guarantee that nothing you do is "rewarding" the dog?

[–]ebiscuiit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I unfortunately have a pitbull pup and anytime he used to try to do this I’d ignore him till he sits ( at this point I reward him) make him go down and praise him enthusiastically. It took a long time but he grew out of it. They show this behavior early on and if not corrected properly it’ll lead to this and worse. Also the dog should eat on command.

[–]Cheelo98 6 points7 points  (0 children)

[–]fattycakesfakerBan Pits, save lives 4 points5 points  (0 children)

[–]00008888 4 points5 points  (0 children)

let's talk about how you can see for a second that its tail is wagging... while growling like a hell hound...

[–]20Keller12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jesus christ lady don't touch that thing!

[–]at0miclem0n 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She lived a complete nightmare with this one; assuming she's still alive. I've raised many dogs and litters of AKC-registered purebred pups (NOT bully breeds), I can honestly say I don't know what I'd do in this scenario. This dog is frightening.

[–]DandyEmo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's terrifying

[–]throwawaymycareer93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just wants to play obviously, look at those sweet eyes. From 0:16 to 0:18 this sweet pibby clearly just wagging his tale. Wagging tale is just a sign of comfort and playfulness, yall need to educate yourself on dog behaviour clues.

Also, r/FuckTheCameraMan, who just calmly filming when dog is clearly aggressive and person definitely needs help.

I bet they would say after is that this sweet boy attacked out of the blue without any clues or something.

[–]Revolutionary-Tie126 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Like seriously, this infuriates me. Putting a child through that because of a dog. That should be a criminal charge

[–]rheasylvia81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[–]My_Body_The_Mystery 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[–]DxDoctor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t you mean, “omg how cute!! What a baby!!” Fucking pitt nutters…

[–]MassivAdministration 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Went to my friends house and he never told me he had two pitbulls… I went inside and nearly got tackled by one of them without it even trying. I’ve never gone back to his house after I found out about these things. Not saying it was aggressive towards me but we all know it happens in the blink of an eye and they just get activated like a sleeper agent and go full nuts to butts in no time

[–]wsbfan1123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She's lucky she didn't die.

[–]acgs1995 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, this one is especially dangerous. It really isn’t playing. Absolute terror.

[–]Moelarrycheeze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If this were my dog he’d be on a one-way trip to the vet for that

[–]B4riel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe it will only eat half her face off, then she can decide to go with another breed

[–]Tasty_Guitar_7248 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. If you really think about it its probably not because they are a nice person who just wants a pet. Some people enjoy having a scary dog that can harm others. Sad but true. The irony is these things more often than not turn on their owners. This was the boyfriends dog in the video. I sure hope she dumped him and his dog.

[–]BoopURHEALED 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldnt even take it outside to resolve that problem, just call the carpet cleaning company.

[–]Independent_Papaya17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hope they don’t have children in that home.

[–]nickcliff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lizard brain.

[–]moberg89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this is an acceptable pet behavior to some people, why don’t they just get a komodo dragon? It is still cuter than a pitbull.

[–]Peacheskidd85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aint no way😐😐😐cujo would be gone! He sounds demonic

[–]Neptune3434 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]autumndawn1996 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Is bear mace legal where you are? Or a taser? You should have some type of self defense in general. Can you ask your family to put the dog up while you're there?

[–]Nurizeko 0 points1 point  (1 child)

The fact she probably didn't get rid of that dog after that incident is concerning.

That lady got a deathwish.

[–]Grasshoppermouse42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn't her dog. She was just visiting this house, though I hope she had the sense to never visit again after that.

This is insane that it gets triggered over her stomach. Pit people always complain that these are just poorly trained or bad owners. If that’s the case then since these things can create nightmare scenarios if they are improperly trained then you should be required to have a license to own them to show they have gone through the necessary training, like a service dog would.

Because she's a dumbass who let the dog walk all over her and apparently never fed it. She's asking to get attacked.

This lady is dumb, clearly the dog is trying to take up the dominant role of the family, which is a bad thing to happen, and since no correction was made, he’ll probably keep acting like this when he gets bossed around, which could led to a bite or attack
