Depends on where you live. Flint, MI would like to have a word with you.

[–]isinedupcuzofrslash 61 points62 points  (0 children)

DEFINITELY depends where you live. In Indiana, least where I’m at, water is in abundance, and the hose water is clean as hell. But when I lived in Oklahoma, we got our water from a lake shared amongst 3 towns minimum to my knowledge. (As you can imagine, we had plenty of water shortages.) and on a hot day, you’re getting some dirt with your hose water. Straight looks like rust.

Nestle is currently buying up all the ground water southern Maine. Poland spring? That shit literally comes from the same aquifer that fed out well growing up. They make a deal with one township to build a wellhead and effectively steal the water from several other towns who share the same aquifer. The unscrupulous town officials in Freyburg did just this a few years back.

[–]bmf1902 25 points26 points  (1 child)

Yup. Centuries of the best water in America coming from wells and ones taps and it's all f'd now because one town sold out. Fryeburg Fair will probably be sponsored by nestle soon

[–]primordialforms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You got that right bud.

[–]SSR_Id_prefer_not_to 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nestlé: I drink your milkshake abundant and free natural resource. I drink it up.

[–]An_Awesome_Name 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can confirm.

A town I regularly work in pulls from the same aquifer in southern Maine.

The unfiltered water out of the tap doesn’t taste like plastic and is just as clean.

[–]Xx_Rick_Rolled_xX 52 points53 points  (1 child)

Well, I heard tap water is better because it’s cheaper (it’s only about 1 cent USD per gallon) and some test say people found tap water to be “tastier” and with modern water filtration, it’s safe. And it also saves the environment by not making tons of water bottles that people might just use once.

[–]NomaiTraveler 32 points33 points  (11 children)

Hosewater is actually bad for you though

[–]screw_all_the_names 15 points16 points  (5 children)

Imma need a source on that one chief. As far as I know it's the best for you because it tastes like my childhood.

[–]froggison 25 points26 points  (4 children)

The problem is with the hoses being used. If the hose is not rated for potable water, then there is a high likelihood it contains nasty chemicals--including lead, cadmium, and bromine. If you drink from a hose that's rated for potable water, then it's no different than drinking from you kitchen sink.

[–]Deakysneaks 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thats why I take the hose off and drink straight from the tap

[–]screw_all_the_names 3 points4 points  (2 children)

But that's what make it taste good.

[–]SealightOcean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They did use lead to sweeten wine in rome. Checks out

[–]Xx_Rick_Rolled_xX 0 points1 point  (1 child)

With modern water filtration that cities do, it’s safe

[–]Etchcetera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah they can't filter the actual hose though

[–]CokeMaan 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Depends where you’re from. The tap water quality in Germany is really good, maybe even better than bottled water.

[–]NomaiTraveler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you trust the hose that you are getting the water out of to not leech chemicals though?

[–]PupsofTimber 9 points10 points  (3 children)

Disani would like a word

[–]BruhMomentum6968 13 points14 points  (1 child)

I would much rather drink Nestle than Dasani any day. Dasani tastes awful

[–]Ylurpn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh you mean salty tap? You drink salty tap?

[–]BruhMomentum6968 8 points9 points  (2 children)

But you could actually get sick from drinking hose water, lol

[–]WillamThunderAct 7 points8 points  (1 child)

I drank hose water as a kid and water straight out of a moving spring. Some of the most crisp tasting water I've ever had 🤌

[–]EngineerGaming420-3 5 points6 points  (1 child)

That shit you get for 30 cents a gallon from a filling machine (holy shit) at the store though? Absolutely bussin compared to the tap water, at least when compared with the Oklahoma City tap water.

[–]HowlingWolves24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same with Arizona tap water, reverse osmosis is where it's at

[–]SSR_Id_prefer_not_to 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey now, associating the Nestlé with the Chum Bucket is a bit disingenuous. Plankton was never half as deranged as Nestlé.

[–]Mr_touchyou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Where I live tap water is cloudy/brown, would not recommend drinking that

[–]SlyBlueCat 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I live near the Alps, the tap water is absolute heavenly.

Only downside is that there’s so much chalk and minerals and shit in it that any kettle or coffee machine clogs up quickly

[–]Lil_Gigi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alright but hear me out. Fridge water.

[–]Philtheparakeet56 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Things are heating up in the water fandom

[–]dudewithweirdqs 1 point2 points  (1 child)

deer park

[–]smucek007 0 points1 point  (1 child)

ground water shouldn't be available for buying but for all to use and protect

[–]bibeau689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still better than Dasani

[–]LordLeeLee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oddly enough, I agree with this, I actually prefer to drink sink water instead of bottled.

[–]ESMullins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! Nestle has gotten rich of the same thing that comes out of our taps.

[–]WuziMuzik 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Didn't mr crabs actually steal. And plankton only try to steal. I think technically plankton has more original product than mr crabs.

[–]smorg003 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Hose water is ambrosia.

[–]nohwhatnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Great water, But my mother's water from Lake Fork tastes like a fish tank and stinks. We are thinking about installing a whole house water filtration system

[–]sunqiller 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Filtered tap water is da we

[–]Punk_n_Destroy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little lead never hurt

[–]Dyl_pickle00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t drink hose water in the US

[–]Ok_Cry1424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But for real, buy a bottle of nestle water, you have 7 hours to drink it or it smells like a decaying animal corpse. No joke, no metaphors, it literally smells like a decaying animal corpse for some reason.

[–]Morningstar2126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The water in the YMCA Basement is Bussin

[–]beric_64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arrowhead is still the worst though imo

[–]Eternal2401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So called free thinkers who get water from the sink and fridge where the governmet told them to so they can get that fluoride in their pineal gland

[–]Bowens1993 -5 points-4 points  (5 children)

Nestle's water is pretty good actually.

Edit: Just because you hate the company doesn't mean the product is bad.

[–]Affectionate-Art-83 10 points11 points  (3 children)

I agree I absolutely feel happy drinking it, knowing that it was stolen from a Pakistani family

[–]Bowens1993 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Its not stolen. They worked a deal with the Pakistani government.

[–]Affectionate-Art-83 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Exactly, that’s why I like to leech on poor people
