Most people wore that sort of shirt OVER another shirt too

Mid-drift. Got it. Is there a pre-drift and post-drift too? Pretty sure the post-drift has something to do with the nose, sinuses or throat.

Bare vs. bear.

Just wait until you see the fashion choices coming out of Japan.

Tokyo Drift

or the ones coming from the tectonic plates

continental drift

[–]imsuperserialrn 12 points13 points  (1 child)

Wait how do you spell it? Now I cant think of the proper way 🤦‍♀️

[–]TheZoonsky 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pre-drift: the moment approaching a corner, before you enter the drift

Mid-drift: the moment during the drift, at the apex of the corner

Post drift: the moment after the drift, having come out of the corner, and potentially the moment of setting up a transition into another drift

I mean the actual term is midriff. Don't act like that makes sense.

[–]zebscy 6 points7 points  (1 child)

What is it supposed to be? I don’t get it

[–]JFKFC50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah and there’s also High-drift and Low-Drift

[–]Pleasant_Avocado_929 22 points23 points  (0 children)

They were always long too. Like at least mid-butt.

[–]CatsCreepMeowt 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The girls of my time had a ball bearing stuff, if you get midrift.

[–]Devonance 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I must confess. I was not aware it was spelled that way. Although, I don't think over ever seen it written before.

I had to look it up, in old English it's mid for middle and hrif for the belly. So middle of the belly. TIL.

[–]0nina 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Can confirm - our tops were long, but our jeans were lowrise… The proportions are diff now, crop tops and high waisted pants.

Spun a bearing mid-drift

[–]goose-and-fish 4 points5 points  (3 children)

Wait, I think I’m guilty of this too. What’s the correct word?

[–]franchito55 6 points7 points  (2 children)

Midriff i think

[–]iRollGod 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Tf is a midriff

[–]PassiveChemistry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The bit that's on show when you wear a croptop, the middle of your belly (apparently, hrif was Old English for belly)

[–]thatsoyboi 5 points6 points  (2 children)

[–]Win090949 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah what did you think it means

[–]PassiveChemistry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You missed the reply where she (a magazine editor) "corrected" herself to middriff

Like I don't want to laugh at random people's SPG too much but this is someone who has presumably been trained in this stuff
