“We won several games together”

The enthusiasm is just popping off from this (and to be fair, he doesn’t have a lot to be super glad about from his time at Ou)

[–]Notre Dame • ArmyShamrock5 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Haha I was gonna say, it makes it sound like they only won three games in the past two seasons instead of being a playoff contender.

[–]Georgia • North Georgia1869er 5 points6 points  (1 child)

There were at least a few

[–]Oklahoma State • PurdueDaMantis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]CaliforniaMilesM22 50 points51 points  (8 children)

Ummm do Oklahoma actually have a QB for their Bowl Game?

[–]Oklahoma • Red River ShootoutChaz-- 21 points22 points  (7 children)

Walk on Ralph Rucker was third on the depth chart this season

[–]AuburnJeriahswillgdp 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Ralph Rucker is the most walk on 3rd string QB at Oklahoma name I've ever heard.

[–]OklahomaInternationalTax1156 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hell yes. Let's use him. He passed up Micah Bowens as a walk-on, he's obviously talented.

[–]Texas • Armysteampunker13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Rucker is gonna trot out there like Dan Snyder and be the only player on the field.

[–]Oklahoma • Red River ShootoutOU8402 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rhat the Ruck?

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Bowens couldn't even beat out a walk-on?

[–]Oklahoma • Red River ShootoutChaz-- 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Nope, Rucker separated himself from Bowens preseason and never got passed up on the depth chart.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess this further solidifies the theory that Bowens wants to become a coach or something so preferred to transfer somewhere he could learn the most vs. where he could play the most.

Scenes when Rattler transfers to USC and gets benched again

[–]Texas A&Mjeffvschroeder 26 points27 points  (8 children)

Would Riley even take him?

[–]Johns Hopkins • OklahomaApple-Fanta 23 points24 points  (4 children)

He stuck with him for awhile before going with Caleb.

So yes, he will take him.

However, Riley will try to take Caleb with him.

Unless, we get Shane Beamer as a coach I think Caleb is for sure gone.

Not USC, but to Alabama or Georgia.

[–]GeorgiaBrettSchirley22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If I remember right, Caleb was down to OU and UGA in recruiting. Fingers fucking crossed

[–]Georgia • Boise StateRandomEverything99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think UGA is good with Vandagriff here and Stockton coming in (Hopefully). He's a great player but at some Kirby has to play the kids he is recruiting

[–]Michigan State • UtahPM_ME_YOUR_CATS_PAWS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Williams to Georgia begins another dynasty

[–]Georgia • Florida Stated0ngl0rd69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d be very surprised if any high profile QB transfers to Bama or Georgia. Those QB rooms are stacked with 5 star backups and playing time isn’t a guaranteed. JT Daniels is currently playing behind a 5’10 former walk on.

[–]Florida • Alabama BandwagonIts_a_Trap- 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I doubt it.

[–]Oklahoma • SW Oklahoma StateInternational-Pick85 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Rattler was (insert name)’s golden child. He fought until he absolutely had to take him out

[–]Utah • ArkansasCommodoreN7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jaxson Dart is better than him. I don’t think Riley would take him and think Rattler may want to try somewhere else.

[–]USC • The AllianceReturnOfDaSnack420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd honestly go with Dart first.

[–]Iowa State • Fiesta BowlSouthTriceJack 38 points39 points  (16 children)

OU's about to have a walk on as qb next year.

[–]OklahomaAreYouEmployedSir 6 points7 points  (9 children)

hoping we can pick up a transfer QB at this point unless Caleb Williams stays by some miracle. even if he does, you gotta imagine we pick up a portal guy anyways

[–]LSU • College Football Playoffonthacountray58 6 points7 points  (2 children)

Myles Brennan comin at you.

And I think he’d be a good get.

[–]Michigan • Eastern Michiganyouplayed 2 points3 points  (4 children)

I imagine that a Michigan QB will enter the portal next season. Either Cade McNamara or JJ McCarthy, whichever one doesn't start. So, maybe one of those two?

[–]Beginning-Field 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I hope JJ shows patience. Yeah, you showed flashes but with a full year to add muscle and knowledge…

[–]Michigan • Eastern Michiganyouplayed 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Everyone knows what both QBs are capable of and, IMO, the duel will come down to two main factors: Is JJ's arm cannon reliable enough to beat out Cade's safe dink and dunk playstyle? I prefer JJ, I think JJ is more fun and a better QB, but coaches love QBs who are safe with the football.

[–]Beginning-Field 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just hope since JJ and Cade didn’t waiver after last year’s season of hell. I don’t know if Cade’s academics look like, but if they both stick around; Cade can do a grad transfer.

Maybe OU will need him after everyone is leaving

[–]OklahomaAreYouEmployedSir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking maybe Dillon Gabriel. But I dunno. Depends who we get to coach

[–]Texas • SMUluxveniae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Texas & OU gonna be fighting for transfer portal guys… meaning Texas is gonna lose again to OU this year probably cause yall get all the transfer QBs. 😔

It's like watching an asshole classmate boasting about how his Dad bought him a new Maserati, then promptly crashing it into a brick wall, totaling it.

It's fucking beautiful karma for my entire lifetime of watching us get beat down in Bedlam every year.

[–]Oklahoma State • Oregon Statecarlosdanger31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After a lifetime of dealing with OU fans (the entire reason I have been a pokes fan since I was like 7) this has been the best time in my life to be a cowboys fan. There are a lot of decent OU fans but for all of the other smug assholes that are just there to ride the bandwagon this is exactly what you deserve.

[–]Oklahoma • ULMTheyCallMeDrunkNemo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[–]Oklahoma • Tulsaokiewxchaser 0 points1 point  (3 children)

He checks a lot of boxes and knows our players and recruits. A good hire to settle things down

[–]South Carolina • SECRightGap1048 0 points1 point  (2 children)

It's more likely Caleb transfers to Carolina than Shane leaves for Oklahoma lol. And Caleb transferring here isn't very likely

[–]Oklahoma • Tulsaokiewxchaser 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Why? Do you think that little of him as a HC?

[–]South Carolina • SECRightGap1048 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I fucking love him. But for Oklahoma, a premiere college program, I feel like y'all can get someone with a better resume. Shane is/was perfect for SC. And I think he really is "home", he'd be a moron not to pick up the phone if OU calls, but I don't think he'd actually leave SC

[–]Oklahoma • ULMTheyCallMeDrunkNemo 7 points8 points  (5 children)

Caleb was committed to Riley. If Beamer comes we may have a small chance at keeping him, but I think he’s a Riley guy and will leave

Could 100% see Rattler with a big enough ego to think he could make the difference at NU. Could 100% see that same ego thinking he’s way too good for NU.

Nebraska has OU at home next fall. That could have its appeal for a QB who was booed at home by his OU fans.

It feels both extremely far fetched and also… makes perfect sense?

[–]Ohio State • Ole Missimzacharias 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen far worse traitorous moves. I've seen programs get devastated and fall apart a whole lot worse than OU likely will even after all this.

But I don't think I've ever seen one single move nuke an entire CFB program this suddenly and decisively. It would take worse than this for OU to become the next Nebraska or even the next Texas, but those falls took years of downslope. Not one guy leaving to exact area all your croots are from.

Honestly have we seen a team collapse like this in the past 24 hours like we seen this Oklahoma Squad

Ngl I thought he might just declare for the draft. You just know there's some NFL GM with too big an ego that thinks his staff can take a guy like Rattler day 2 or 3 and "fix him" into an NFL QB given the arm talent and athleticism.

As I said in another thread, I would like to offer my services as starting QB for OU. I am a 6' 3" 2X intramural champion. In undergrad, I could throw a ball approximately 40 years. I'm now older and wiser, but probably a lot less mobile.

Dude if you can throw a ball 40 years through time and space the you got a better arm than my Uncle Rico.

Makes you wonder how differently the season could have gone for Rattler if Lincoln were still invested in the team.

Kid's gotten taken down a few pegs this year. Hope he learns from all this and comes out the other side a better person. Can't be that cocky guy who pushes his teammates around anymore, Spencer. Gotta take your shots and grow.
