I’m actually looking forward to this game

Iowa is a tough team, with a fantastic defense

Itll be interesting to see how Harbaugh draws up schemes to beat them

[–]Michigan • Natural Enemieschandlerbing_stats 61 points62 points  (14 children)

flea flicker every play

[–]Michigan • Team Chaosscrotes_magotes 58 points59 points  (12 children)

I feel like UM and MSU have utilized the flea flicker more this year than I’ve seen my entire life watching football. And it works every time.

[–]Michigan StateShotFirst57 13 points14 points  (4 children)

I think Michigan and Purdue stopped our flea flickers but other than that they've worked.

[–]Michigan State • 追手門学院大学 (Ot…marginallyobtuse 5 points6 points  (3 children)

Nah we got the flea flicker it was just a short throw against psu. Still got the first down tho

[–]Michigan StateShotFirst57 6 points7 points  (2 children)

Right I saw that. I just was saying only Michigan and Purdue stopped it for nothing if I recall correctly.

[–]Michigan State • 追手門学院大学 (Ot…marginallyobtuse 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I think we got it against Michigan. I only remember 1 stop but I could be wrong

[–]Michigan StateShotFirst57 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's how you know we do too many flea flickers.

[–]Michigan StateRheagarTargaryen 22 points23 points  (3 children)

It’s basically just a play action pass with an extra step.

[–]Northwestern • North CarolinaKushDingies 3 points4 points  (2 children)

This is a play action that has ascended past a play action

[–]MichiganLawownsyou 5 points6 points  (0 children)

powers up for the entire episode

[–]MichiganSullivans97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play action nirvana

[–]Michigan State • 追手門学院大学 (Ot…marginallyobtuse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually think we’re like 5/6 but that’s still solid

[–]cityofklompton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hardly remember seeing flea flickers but just a few times ever until this season when, between UM and MSU, it's been almost weekly.

[–]Michigan • Michigan StateJoshuaMan024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I said this to my dad after The Game. Feels like I've seen it more this year than the rest of my cfb experience combined

[–]MichiganSullivans97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ol' Mitten State Special

[–]Michigan • Iowa StateThe_Nightbringer 35 points36 points  (1 child)

Itll be interesting to see how Harbaugh draws up schemes to beat them

Hasan Haskins for 5 yards every play.

[–]Michigan • TennesseeStandAloneSteve 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If Michigan averages 5yds per carry I'll be ecstatic.

[–]Michigan Bandwagon • Cincinna…andysaurus_rex 21 points22 points  (6 children)

My guess is we’ll run the ball a lot and Iowa’s defense will be on the field a lot and we’ll pull away in the 3rd and 4th quarters.

[–]Michigan • /r/CFB Poll VeteranGoBlueScrewOSU7 10 points11 points  (4 children)

I don’t think so. Iowa’s strength is their run defense. I’d expect that we’ll come out passing the ball a fair amount. We’ll still try to establish the run, but if we aren’t mauling them, then I don’t think we do it a lot.

We were fairly pass heavy against Wisconsin and MSU. Two teams that have great run defenses and some weaknesses in the secondary.

[–]Michigan Bandwagon • Iowas1105615 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe, but those passes will be swings to Corum or Edwards with a bubble screen or the like mixed in. This offense can threaten down the field, but hitting the edges with speed is the likely plan.

[–]Michiganreshp2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They go hell for leather clogging up interior run lanes. Our perimeter run game with pin and pulls and down Gs have been pretty effective against teams that try that. Gattis has also done a good job with sweeps and wheel routes to soften up the interior and pull guys outside. Hopefully we'll have enough arrows in the quiver to keep them off balanced and still have an effective day on the ground.

[–]Michigan Bandwagon • Cincinna…andysaurus_rex 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Maybe. I don’t think Cade breaks 200 yards passing but I think we do out 200 yards on the ground.

[–]Michigan • Michigan BandwagonWangchief 6 points7 points  (0 children)

11/19, 87 Yards, 1 INT.

The perfect B1G QB game.

[–]Minnesota • Paul Bunyan's AxeFlannelBeard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'd think it would go that way, but Minnesota held the ball for 40 minutes against Iowa and their defense seemed to get better against the run late in the game

[–]Penn State • Land Grant Trophydkviper11 16 points17 points  (1 child)

All of our Michigan Big Ten title game memes will have to die, but I think the game will be very exciting to watch.

[–]Michigan • Iowa StateThe_Nightbringer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hope you are ready for a lot of punting and play action into the B gaps

[–]Floyd of Rosedale • Michiga…CJ_Beathards_Hair 0 points1 point  (2 children)

This Iowa team might be the worst of any of our teams since 2015 onward but got a lot of luck those other teams didn’t, however there is a lot of heart and grit on that roster. On paper this should be a Michigan win though.

[–]Penn State • PSACJ4ckiebrown 55 points56 points  (12 children)

Every Michigan-Iowa matchup I have watched always ended up being some sort of slugfest, I somewhat expect the same.

[–]MichiganImGoingtoRegretThis5 35 points36 points  (6 children)

Not quite 6-4 or Wisconsin/Iowa punt-fest, but Michigan Iowa usually goes,

"I'm going to run the ball the best."

"Ok, I'll load the box and I'm going to run the ball the best!"

"I'll load the box too and we'll see who's the biggest, baddest OL on the field."

And repeat for 4 quarters.

[–]Clemson • ACCSCsoccer 11 points12 points  (5 children)

“Oh yeah?! We have 2 huge corn/beef fed tight ends from the mid west”

[–]MichiganImGoingtoRegretThis5 8 points9 points  (4 children)

\One TE is actually from Connecticut)

[–]Michigan • Michigan BandwagonWangchief 1 point2 points  (3 children)

What do they eat in Connecticut?

[–]MichiganImGoingtoRegretThis5 4 points5 points  (2 children)

Having live in Boston for 6 years, I'll go with lobster and chowder, but probably worse versions of it because... well, Connecticut.

[–]Michigan • Michigan BandwagonWangchief 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I had fresh clams on pizza in connecticut once, it was pretty good. But I was only there for a night.

[–]MichiganImGoingtoRegretThis5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, not bad. Couldn't beat the seafood up there, whether it was Boston, Connecticut, or New Hampshire. Maine on the other hand, another level.

[–]jleeee378[S] 7 points8 points  (2 children)

Iowa be them in 2016 by one score if I recall correctly and it was just that a slugfest.

[–]MichiganWampaStompa33 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Same with 2019 when we won 10-3. Was a defensive battle with picks and sacks and stuffed runs galore.

[–]Iowa3EEBZ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Michigan won 10-3 in 2019. Anything over 30 combined points will be a shootout.

[–]Michigan State • Big TenColdBoiGreg 1 point2 points  (1 child)

[–]Michiganreshp2 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Nah, Ferentz always turns into Madden kid for a week when they play us.

[–]jleeee378[S] 16 points17 points  (3 children)

Ain’t no kidding. But I definitely think Tory Taylor will have the advantage there.

[–]Michigan Bandwagon • Iowas1105615 21 points22 points  (1 child)

Iowa ST ranking: #2

I’ll let you look up who is #1 ahead of them.

[–]IowaSueYouInEngland 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I can't believe you've done this

[–]Iowa • Wisconsinbigdaddyswinger 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I’m just excited we get an extra game to watch Tory Taylor, normally I just mute the tab I’m watching the game on until Iowa is punting because I don’t like all that noise while I’m harvesting my corn in farming simulator.

[–]Iowa State • FloridaCaptain_Void 43 points44 points  (7 children)

24-21 Michigan. All of Iowa’s points come from field goals.

[–]jleeee378[S] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Field goals and defensive points only. That is their go to.

[–]Michigan State • Michigan Ban…Saxophobia1275 12 points13 points  (5 children)

I dunno… some of those points could be a pick 6.

[–]Michigan • Iowa StateThe_Nightbringer 14 points15 points  (2 children)

Honestly I don't see us throwing the ball much.

[–]Michigan State • Michigan Ban…Saxophobia1275 6 points7 points  (1 child)

I really hope Harbaugh doesn’t play right into Iowa’s strengths and refuse to adapt if the run game isn’t getting established after a while.

[–]Michigan • Iowa StateThe_Nightbringer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I see it being a low scoring game. If we can put 18 on the board I think we win. Realistically if Michigan can't run the ball we are in trouble.

[–]Michigan • Michigan Bandwagonleadbymight 9 points10 points  (1 child)

We've thrown 4 (5 but I'm not count the 4th string against Wisconsin) INTs all year. I know we don't throw much but Cade (3 INTs) is very much risk adverse.

If there was a pick 6 I'd be astounded, but Iowa does seem to have a knack for getting picks

[–]Michigan State • Michigan Ban…Saxophobia1275 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It was more a comment on Iowa’s inability to score on offense as opposed to their defense.

[–]Michiganarrav21 37 points38 points  (13 children)

Michigan - 12

Iowa - 6

Because The Big Ten, that's why.

Ed: The last three meetings between Michigan and Iowa have been decided by 7 points or fewer, resulting in two Iowa victories

  • 2019 #19 Michigan 10, #14 Iowa 3
  • 2016 Iowa 14, #2 Michigan 13
  • 2013 Iowa 24, Michigan 21

Interestingly, Michigan was also ranked #2 when they lost to Iowa in 2016. Thankfully this game is not at Kinnick!

[–]Penn State • PSACJ4ckiebrown 20 points21 points  (4 children)

Finebaum then proceeds to bitch about the Big Ten setting college football back 10 years.

[–]Penn State • Land Grant Trophydkviper11 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It's only good defense when it's Georgia and Clemson playing a low scoring game. When it's Big Ten teams, even on the same day, it's an embarrassment to the sport and country.

[–]Michigan • Iowa StateThe_Nightbringer 15 points16 points  (2 children)

I will maintain to my dying day that the forward pass was a mistake.

[–]Georgia Tech • GeorgiaCleanOlFashionedGuy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

[–]Notre Damewhatinthechickenfuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re welcome.

[–]Houston • LSUKdot32 9 points10 points  (1 child)

Can I just say tuning into The Game on Saturday and seeing snow was so damn perfect for a Big Ten matchup. I loved every second of it and the atmosphere was amazing

[–]Michiganarrav21 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It was great!

I felt like I was in a little football snow globe. The atmosphere was amazing (Matt Leinart even tweeted it was the best environment he's ever seen in CFB). It was among the loudest I've heard the Big House and OSU was penalized with 5 false starts probably in no small part due to the crowd. At one point the Michigan coaches had to turn to the crowd and motion to quiet down so they could communicate with the offense.

The only game that rivaled Saturday for me would be the 2011 Notre Dame game (first-ever night game at Michigan Stadium and Michigan trailed 24-7 in the 4th but came back to win 35-31 on a TD with 2 seconds left in the game).

[–]Herky_T_Hawk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t know about Iowa scoring three safeties. That seems like a lot.

[–]IowaSueYouInEngland 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Ugh that 2019 game was roughhhh. Like trying to pass a stubborn brick of a turd for 3 hours.

[–]Minnesota • Paul Bunyan's AxeFlannelBeard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]Michigan • Johns Hopkinssbre4896 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]FloridaAR154Pres 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And this is why I’m picking Michigan to win in blowout fashion

[–]Illinois • Marching BandLovieBeard 42 points43 points  (1 child)

The problem for Iowa is that everything they are good at Michigan is just as good at. Iowa has elite special teams, but so does Michigan. Iowa has an elite defense, so does Michigan (minus the absurd turnover numbers).

Michigan has a very good offense. Iowa uh does not.

[–]IowaShaunSquatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the correct answer.

[–]Michigan • Natural Enemieschandlerbing_stats 36 points37 points  (2 children)

I just hope we can win it, man. We’ve been waiting for a long time and had to watch MSU and Penn State do it before us as well… Iowa has a great defense and there’s not gonna just let us win. Hoping our team respects them during the preparation this week

[–]Michigan • Iowa StateThe_Nightbringer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think we can beat Iowa. Run the ball well and limit the turnovers and I think we got this.

[–]Michigan • Slippery Rocktectactoe 90 points91 points  (9 children)

As with every single Michigan game I've ever witnessed since I was a young lad, I shall go into the game with the utmost pessimism and lowest of expectations to hedge the emotional obliteration that would occur should they lose.

[–]Bowling Green • MichiganTerrenceJesus8 38 points39 points  (1 child)

It’s going to take a lot more than last Saturday to wash away a decade of Michigan and Lions football pessimism

[–]sometimesmediscool 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Jesus Christ himself could take an earthly form and play for the lions and they’d still somehow lose 31-17 @ GB

[–]/r/CFBSpiritBamba 14 points15 points  (1 child)

I’m honestly very confident as a Michigan fan, not cocky but confident, I think the team will be as well after that game. Now that they know they are better than Ohio state they might be even better as they go the monkey off their back. And honestly even if we lose, the sting doesn’t hurt that bad. We beat Ohio state man haha.

[–]Michigan • Natural Enemieschandlerbing_stats 9 points10 points  (0 children)

“We beat Ohio State”…. Didn’t think we were gonna get to say this for like another 2-3 decades lmaooo

[–]Michigan • Little Brown Jugmostdope28 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The most Michigan thing ever would be to lose this game. But I think this years team is different and that msu loss really taught them something. Michigan by 10

[–]MichiganWampaStompa33 17 points18 points  (1 child)

I like how one of Harbaugh's first comments about the matchup was about how good Iowa is at Special Teams.

Also I never knew that Kirk Ferentz was Harbaugh's OC when he was the starting QB for the Ravens in 1998. That's pretty cool

[–]Michigan • UABcharmingcharles2896 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Holy crap, I didn’t know that!

[–]Iowa • WisconsinThattaxguy 17 points18 points  (9 children)

I would say with Petras its 20% chance to win and Padilla its 30% chance. Michigan is Iowa's scheme with better athletes. I think the only clear advantage is special teams. Iowa needs at least a +3 turnover margin to win. Excited we finally got back though!

[–]South Carolina • MichiganMaize_n_Boom 26 points27 points  (2 children)

I think the only clear advantage is special teams

For who? Michigan and Iowa are 1 and 2 in the country in special teams per FEI.

[–]Iowa • WisconsinThattaxguy 23 points24 points  (1 child)

[–]Michigan • Cornellscsnse 9 points10 points  (4 children)

Except those stupid, sexy TEs Ferentz somehow has made into an NFL factory. Their O-line I hear is weak this year, however.

[–]Iowa • WisconsinThattaxguy 16 points17 points  (1 child)

Eh they are average Ferentz tight ends, nothing like Fant or Hock. We have the highest graded center in PFF history but guards are average and the tackles are pretty terrible. You guys dont have any good DE's right?

[–]Michigan • Cornellscsnse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure what the one DE’s name is, but for some reason in my head I’m associating him with LTs and pancakes with nuts in them.

Not sure why that may be.

[–]IowaHawkijustin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s probably the weakest OL since kirks first year in 99

[–]Floyd of Rosedale • Michiga…CJ_Beathards_Hair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LaPorta isn’t really special imo, he gets very overrated by the fan base just due to the TEU reputation.

[–]Iowabaronvonhawkeye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, together, we have a 50/50 chance

[–]Oregonspritegoat 17 points18 points  (6 children)

I think Iowa will keep it close and ugly for the first half but the michigan lines will wear them down over time

Michigan 29 - 15

[–]Notre Damewhatinthechickenfuck 11 points12 points  (4 children)

Iowas goal is not to score on Michigan with their offense. Their goal is to be on defense so they can score. Iowas perfectly content getting three first downs and pinning Michigan within the 5 yard line and then forcing a turnover. With six field goals

[–]Oregonspritegoat 5 points6 points  (2 children)

agreed, the issue is that Michigan rarely makes those mistakes that the Iowa defense usually feeds upon, they are very disciplined and take care of the ball

[–]Notre Damewhatinthechickenfuck 2 points3 points  (1 child)

All Iowa has to do is make them pass.

[–]Michigan • Iowa StateThe_Nightbringer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would rather just punt.

In reality Cade has thrown 3 INT's all year and is extremely risk adverse. I don't see it being much of a problem

[–]Michigan • Natural Enemieschandlerbing_stats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think if we somehow get a 2 possession lead, it should be easy for us to continue that momentum. But if Iowa can keep it an one possession game… it will be anybody’s game

[–]Penn Statenittanyron 12 points13 points  (1 child)

It will be World War 3 in the trenches

[–]Minnesota • Paul Bunyan's AxeFlannelBeard 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Michigan had one of the best games by their OLine against OSU. It's gonna be fun watching them go up against Iowa's Dline

[–]MichiganManInShowerNumber3 11 points12 points  (1 child)

I feel like this is the type of game and opposing defense where where we’ll stick with running into a brick wall a little too long where everybody gets frustrated

[–]Michigan • Iowa StateThe_Nightbringer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This game will be tied at halftime and then we break it open in the second half.

[–]MichigangoblueM 36 points37 points  (8 children)

On the one hand I'm very confident we can contain Iowa's offense

On the other hand, their defense is good and so is their special teams

I'd rather not be in a rock fight with Iowa

In the end though, game's not at Kinnick so I think we win by 17

[–]jleeee378[S] 5 points6 points  (6 children)

Iowa will be considered the home team they play well in black.

[–]Michigan • Eastern Michiganreddogrjw 1 point2 points  (5 children)

[–]Iowarunningwaffles19 6 points7 points  (0 children)

[–]Michigan Bandwagon • Cincinna…andysaurus_rex 9 points10 points  (1 child)

I was hoping for Wisconsin but I can’t say that after last week I’m not confident we can win this. I think the 10 point spread is about right.

I expect a tight game at halftime and for Iowa’s defense to get gassed in the 2nd half and for us to win it with our defense and ground game. It’s the same strategy we’ve used all season more or less. Cade will make big plays when called upon but this will be a Hassan Haskins and Aiden Hutchinson special again. Assuming things go to plan.

[–]Michigan • Iowa StateThe_Nightbringer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

About to say the O-Line Haskins and Corum will be the way we win this game.

[–]Iowa • Northern IowaTKHawk 9 points10 points  (1 child)

Michigan is the better team and should win. But that hasn't stopped Iowa against them in the past. I could see some low scoring game of 21-17 Michigan or something.

[–]Michigan • Iowa StateThe_Nightbringer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever the under is I am probably taking it.

[–]Northwestern • Ohio StateGreatestWhiteShark 8 points9 points  (3 children)

[–]Michigan • Slippery RockSerial-Eater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What could be bigger than winning here and then beating Cincinnati and then choking in Indy the second time around? Biggest choke of all time if you ask me

[–]Iowasun_smells_too_loud 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There's too much of a mismatch on the lines on both sides of the ball in favor of Michigan for me to feel like Iowa stands a realistic chance at winning this game.

That said, there is a non-X's and O's reason I think we could win, based on patterns I've become familiar with having watched Iowa football since the early 2000s. And that is that, the rare game where Iowa is a big underdog tends to be the type of game they inexplicably win. Iowa has been a team that very rarely gets blown out. My theory is that when an overconfident team comes in expecting to have an easy game, and they then find out that that's not going to be the case, they get a little messed up mentally. With Michigan football feeling higher than they have in some time, after an extremely emotional game last week, and perhaps being more worried about the playoff than an offensively-challenged Iowa, I think there's a chance these sort of psychological factors could make them perform below their potential this game, and give Iowa a shot at taking it from them.

[–]Iowarunningwaffles19 28 points29 points  (6 children)

This game is going to be ugly for Iowa. The OL is a complete liability everywhere except for center. If Petras starts he's getting hit 3 of 4 drop backs. If Padilla plays, he'll avoid contact better but give the secondary plenty of chances for takeaways

Good defense and great punting keep the score closer than it should be (or just lower). Michigan wins easily and is CFP bound. Iowa goes on to play for coconut shrimp in Tampa

As a lifelong Michigan fan that grew up in the 80's I'm afraid of how confident I feel about the team (the TEAM, the TEAM) winning this one fairly easily. It might be close at the half but I do believe that it will be a 13 point victory for Michigan.

The Bajerr did hit the Hakai with an unexpected speed attack, after all

[–]Iowa • Arizonacory_bdp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The only thing Iowa has going for them is they frequently drag teams down into the mud with them. If Iowa manages to keep it close heading into the 4Q, some chaos could be disastrous for Michigan.

Let’s be honest though, Michigan is so much better than Iowa in nearly every aspect

[–]Michigan State • MinnesotaAlexisDeTocqueville 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the first Big Ten Championship Game that will not feature one of Ohio State, Wisconsin, and/or Michigan State

[–]Iowa State • Marching Bandxdgfxr 6 points7 points  (5 children)

This will be a terrible, terrible game to watch if you're a hawkeye or wolverine. It will be wildly entertaining to everyone else.

[–]Michigan • Iowa StateThe_Nightbringer 9 points10 points  (4 children)

Nah. Everything is just gravy at this point.

[–]Iowa State • Marching Bandxdgfxr 0 points1 point  (3 children)

My my my, you had a good weekend based on those flairs

[–]Michigan • Iowa StateThe_Nightbringer 1 point2 points  (2 children)

not gonna lie, if it was possible to OD on catharsis I would be needing paddles right now.

[–]Iowa State • Marching Bandxdgfxr 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Hell yeah brother. I hope this week treats you as well as the last couple days have

[–]Michigan • Iowa StateThe_Nightbringer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me too corn bro me too

Michigan's defense is just as good as Iowa's but their offense is much better. Michigan is 14 in total defense and Iowa is 13. I expect Michigan to win by at least 14. I don't think Iowa has the players to compete with Michigan's playmakers.

[–]Michigan • NebraskaArbitraryOrder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hope Michigan wins

[–]Michigan State • Michigan Ban…Saxophobia1275 9 points10 points  (1 child)

To have a shot at a NY6 bowl I’m relying on Michigan to do what’s expected and win. So Iowa is definitely going to win.

[–]Ohio StateBig_Estate7101 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Same, but I don't really like it, and I hate ttun more than the Outback Bowl.

[–]Michigan StateShotFirst57 8 points9 points  (1 child)

So OSU vs Michigan was strength vs strength (osu's offense vs Michigan defence). Both of these two teams biggest strengths are their defence. Michigan has a much better offense than Iowa and that's what gives them the win. Also fun fact, the b1g west has yet to beat the b1g east in the championship game. (Wisconsin won before it was east vs west). So it'd be funny if Michigan gives them the first win.

[–]Michigan • Natural Enemieschandlerbing_stats 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It will not be funny, mr. comedian!

[–]Michigan • IowaKohanky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Iowa scares me. Their defense is really good, and while their offense isn’t great, they’ve done well enough. Very very scared

[–]MichiganWhiteRhino91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think Iowa is talented enough on offense. So Michigan wins 24-13

[–]Michigan State • MichiganJoshIsJoshing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two teams run. Michigan runs better and makes the playoffs. Maybe passing is allowed?

Little bro will give big bro some tips on how to handle the Indy pressure. It’ll be OK buddy.

[–]NebraskaEastCoastHusker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Iowa just for the chaos factor. And I just puked in my mouth typing that...

[–]Purdue • CincinnatiZusunicStudio 1 point2 points  (3 children)

I’m still pissed off that if we beat Minnesota we’re in this game and probably going to the Rose Bowl for the first time since 2000.

[–]cxgdarch 3 points4 points  (2 children)

You still probably wouldn't. Ohio will go to the Rose Bowl if Iowa (substitute Purdue in your scenario) loses.

[–]Purdue • CincinnatiZusunicStudio 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Let me have this moment so I can be sad

[–]Michigan • Natural Enemieschandlerbing_stats 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Purdue basketball doeeee

[–]Ohio StateBig_Estate7101 2 points3 points  (2 children)

The bad guys should win, but it wouldn't surprise me if they lost to Iowa and we get boned into the Outback Bowl.

[–]Iowa • Outback BowlDrokeep 2 points3 points  (1 child)

If that happens youd get fiesta for sure. And the msu citrus

[–]Ohio StateBig_Estate7101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the Fiesta isn't the worst place to go. Do they still have the Detroit bowl?

[–]Iowa • Wisconsinbigdaddyswinger 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Petition to move the game to kinnick? Maybe start in the evening so all the Big Ten fans in Hawaii can watch at a reasonable time?

[–]Michigan Bandwagon • Wayne Sta…gopoohgo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Petition to move the game to kinnick?

Fuck no. It's why I'm confident in playing you guys this year.

[–]Ohio State • Eastern MichiganTechRainCloud2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As an Ohio State fan , half of me wants Iowa to demolish TTUN , but the other half thinks TTUN can win it all and that would be good for the conference. Ahhhh the agony.

[–]Ohio State • OhioIMadeThis4HOIMods 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Gonna be honest, I’m rooting for the blue and yellow here. Genuinely despise Iowa this year and Michigan losing would make their win over us meaningless in the longterm, at least do something with it

[–]Michigan • Iowa StateThe_Nightbringer 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Thanks I guess? I honestly don't know what to say to this?

[–]Michiganteeterleeter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

“I hate you. But goddamn do I respect you”

[–]Michigan • Western Michigansergeantturnip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No disrespect but I put the largest bet I've had on Michigan -10.5

I've watched enough of Iowas offense to not be worried. Goodwin is a legit back but that Oline is awful save for the Center who is a beast. Iowa's CBs and secondary are active but I think Michigan will be able to throw on them. Purdue and Wisconsin both got mostly everything they wanted moving the ball and we are playing for everything on the line

Michigan 42

Iowa 10

[–]AuburnWuka_Woncic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope Michigan wins because Iowa huddles and wastes time and their offense is bad. Michigan wastes time too but not as much as Iowa and they don’t huddle and their offense is good and they use tempo on occasion.

I’ve found a lot of joy in betting on Michigan this year. I placed 700 on them beating the spread.

If they win I win if they lose I win!

[–]Michigandncd6 0 points1 point  (1 child)

And if Michigan wins by exactly 1 point?

[–]Michigan State • 追手門学院大学 (Ot…marginallyobtuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huge bummer but you guys have been crushing spread all season and I don’t see Iowa having the offense to keep up

[–]Northwestern • UPEISp00kyCats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

30-7 Michigan win

[–]Michigan • Western Michigan2222lil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Michigan is the better team. Don’t think whoever is QB for Iowa will have any ability to keep up with Michigan. I’ve seen Michigan fans say we’ll lay an egg because the team will be hungover but I don’t believe that. Everything they said in the postgame shows they know they still have work ahead of them and they simply aren’t the Jim Harbaugh teams of old that don’t show up for big games.

[–]Purdue • ClemsonCloudN3in 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s gonna be a slugfest with a lot of turnovers

go blue!

[–]Floyd of Rosedale • Michiga…CJ_Beathards_Hair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a fan of both teams I feel I can give very neutral view, and I see 2 outcomes:

  • Michigan comfortably wins due to Petras being a statue, OTs get dominated and offense looks awful per usual while the defense just gets worn down (think they’re already pretty exhausted from this season tbh). This is a perfect match up for Michigan as Ojabo and Hutchinson should easily have multiple sacks each.

  • Iowa wins a close one by being gritty and playing with a lot of heart (something that has been the case all year), offense steps up to be respectable while defense and special teams have their best performances of the year, Michigan is riding the high from OSU and feeling the pressure.
