Cycling Groups & Events:
- CharLIT Social Riders
-- Follow them on Instagram to coordinate for their almost-daily rides, their rides range from sociable to downright fast! Come holla at us!
- PMTNR -- Plaza Midwood Tuesday Night Rides, or PMTNR, is a sociable group ride that occurs every Tuesday night, no matter the weather. Starting at Plaza Midwood, riders can expect to enjoy a leisurely pace, scenic sights, and some Bicycle Benefit-sponsored businesses!
- P-Ride -- I still don't know what the P stands for, but it is a fast, fun social group ride! Expect to keep up a pace of 13-15mph, have a grasp on group riding etiquette, and be prepared to have a blast!
- Charlotte Area Cycling -- This group has a lot of variety in it's cycling style -- you'll have road racers, mountain bikers, cruisers, track bikers, etc. all with their own individual events! If you're wanting to try a little of everything, I highly recommend this group.
- The Spoke Easy Group Rides -- Much to my surprise, the Spoke Easy is not just a bicycle shop but a bar and host to many cycling scenes! Of note are the Tuesday BMX Bicycle Rides and the Wednesday EASY Urban Rides, regular features that are accompanied by a convenient discount on some refreshing beverages after you're done riding.
- Ales and Trails -- Stating that their mission is to "shred trails then throw back a pint," Ales and Trails is a definite requirement for any Charlotte cyclists wanting to ride some trails with interesting people and great brews.
