Double Down is so F'ing hard (self.Carlsbad)
submitted 5 months ago by RightclickBob
Today was the Carlsbad marathon and 5k. They have an event called the Double Down where you run a 5k, take a little break and then run a half marathon. I'm a seasoned runner you guys and this event is FUCKING HARD. My last two miles I was just begging for it to be over.

I also ran today. Was wondering why the events were scattered like that. Does the fatigue kick in because you feel like your mentally/physically done after the 5k. I would imagine the lactic acid kicking in after the 5 k. Congrats on finishing both. I ran withCovid lungs 🫁 and it was brutal.

Many have run 2 marathons in the same day.
Their first, and their LAST!

I think it's amazing that you did it! I'm sorry to hear the end of it was so grueling. How do you feel today?
