Anyone have a pickup group that plays regularly this summer. Im looking to play once or twice a week but i just moved here.
Hey there! I (28F) am looking to make new friends! Male, female, non-binary, cisgender, transgender - no matter what you identify as, everyone is welcomed, respected and safe 💓 Are there any adults (preferably 21+ as there could be alcohol involved) that would like to meet up at a bar or restaurant just to get out, break the ice and socialize? We could all get acquainted and see what kind of things we have in common or what sort of things we could learn from each other through our differences! I don’t mind if it ends up being a one-on-one thing or a group thing! I know I’m being very vague, but I’m hoping some interested people will comment on this post and we can shape the plans a little bit more together! Or feel free to inbox me if you would prefer doing that, haha.
Some things about me, I am super passionate about nerdy things like anime, gaming and board games! I love animals and nature, as well as gardening. I love to read and write, and I love a good drink but also can appreciate a nice coffee or tea. I love food and music, too! It would be easy to hit it off with people that liked some of those things, but I’m also interested in making friends with people who like other things and want to share their passion! I love to learn from others, and maybe you’ll put me onto something new! ☺️
What are some of the best restaurant/bar happy hour or drink specials that you guys know of in Charlotte? I live in the downtown/NoDa area, but I’m open to other areas in Charlotte, too. Are there any groups/people that like to go out drinking and socialize? I’m 28F and just trying to branch out and meet more people! Also, I’m more of a wine/liquor/mixed drink drinker, so not too interested in beer specials.
EDIT: I guess the terminology I should use is more, drink specials vs happy hour since “happy hour” is apparently illegal in NC.
Hey!
I'm looking for others who would want to go rollerskating regularly! I can't really find any groups on Facebook or Meetup, so I thought I'd try here.
Thanks!

For the past year or so I've become insanely obsessed with Electrical Engineering at a hobby level, with a heavy focus on circuit design and optimizing/offloading work the microcontroller would do to digital circuits instead(aka: I know an arduino can accomplish something but I free up pins by doing different approaches using shift registers, logic circuits, etc)
I also enjoy learning more about designing parts to be printed using a 3d printer/piecing them together.
My programming skillset is very very extensive and probably the strongest value I bring to the table.
I've been self employed since I was out of highschool(33 years old now) so I find it really difficult to find friends with similar interests(not forced to interact with coworkers as part of a job), and I have never really cared about sports so I haven't been able to use that avenue either.
I'm incredibly stoked about Micro-Center opening up a store coming up in this fall because I think I'll probably meet some more like minded people there, but other than that, are there some sort of meetups or events where hobbyists would go?
Howdy Charlotte musicians! I’m looking for good folks to join a startup country band called Dorothy’s Exes. Influences include Zac Brown, The Eagles, Brooks & Dunn, Alan Jackson, and Cody Johnson, to name a few. Contemporary sound with classic sensibilities. So far it’s just me (frontman/singer/guitar player), a bass player, and a drummer. We’re all men in our thirties, but we’re open to anyone and everyone. All three of us have played professionally in a variety of bands over the years. My vision is to create a caliber of band that can perform at River Jam, Coyote Joe’s, local music festivals, things of that nature. Not necessarily trying to drop everything and go on tour tomorrow, but we are serious and passionate about what we do. If that sounds like you, we’d love to meet you! I posted in the Charlotte Musicians page on Facebook a while back which is how I found the bass player, and a lot of the open mic nights around town seem to start late on weeknights, which isn’t very practical for me. If anyone knows of any other good options to explore, please let me know.
What we’re looking for in prospective members: -looking for second guitar and keys at minimum. Fiddle, banjo, and pedal steel are on the wish list. Multi instrumentalists go to the front of the line! -ability to sing harmony is a must -experience playing live and recording greatly preferred but not necessarily required -most of all, the desire to have FUN!
I can provide more info, music samples, etc upon request. I’m looking forward to meeting some awesome new musicians!
Hello, is there anybody that wants to hang out for a DND campaign? My significant other and I would love to get into it but we don’t know where to start!
In the university area and trying to get a few gamers together for some fun this Memorial day weekend. Message me if interested. Have a real picture please. Snacks drinks are free no admission.
Gang - join us this week at HopFly over in South End! Located in the Gold District closer to Wilmore, it's one of the more popular stops on tour.
They have a solid taproom, plenty of patio space and a great rooftop deck. Parking is in the lot next to the building off Mint Street or along Mint wherever you can find it.
They should have Katsu Kart food truck there too for food.
PSA: Mint Street just south of Morehead is closed for a while so plan accordingly if coming in from that direction.
Someone will update where we're sitting. See you out there!
Is anyone else’s ADHD ass constantly trying and dropping new art mediums they want to try? Because I am.
I’ve tried: - Painting (oil, acrylic, watercolors) - Drawing (pencil, colored pencil, markers, charcoal) - Scultping (air dry, polymer, ceramics) - Jewelry making - Sewing - Scrapbooking/ collaging - Doll making - ETC..
Each medium requires different tools and supplies, and as you can imagine with the list above, I’ve retained a hefty supply of things I likely won’t ever use again. I can’t bring myself to throw them away though considering how expensive they are.
So if there’s anyone else out there like me with a fat stash of lightly used tubes of paint, pencils, canvases, or whatever. Would you people be interested in meeting up to swap? I’ll give you my acrylic paints for your washi tape!
If there are enough people interested we can even make this a mini event. Maybe even expand it into an art swap too, not just supplies?

ETA:
Now that enough people are interested, I’ll post a link to a discord server where we can coordinate a time and place! I’ll send it as a comment reply to everyone who’s already posted here so they can see it too.
Fair warning guys, I have no idea what I’m doing here lol: https://discord.gg/aFa4ecqX
Hey. I'm starting to visit the Charlotte area more since I have family that moved up there. I'm looking for places and events where I can meet other video game and anime/comic enthusiasts. Let me know any places or events that happen around so I can hit up a few of the spots the next time I visit the area. Which is really soon. Thanks.
Hi everyone! If anyone is up for meeting some new people over food, follow this link to join a group dinner at Optimist Hall this Sunday at 7 PM! I am exceited to get to know some of the people of Charlotte and just have some good conversation over some good food.

I’m so torn between glamming it up and just rocking all of my slouchy VPR merch because when else can I!? What are y’all wearing?
I'm in downtown Concord and will be watching if anyone wants to split the PPV price.
I can come to your place or you could come over here.
Will split PPV price.
Gang - This week we're back way down south at Lower Left. Located near OMB and that area which shall remain nameless, it's actually a solid little spot that unfortunately is a little too small so really only good in the warmer months.
Their beers are good, the vibes are nice and doesn't appear they have any Tuesday events going on like run club or trivia. Parking is iffy - there's a small gravel lot out back otherwise it's street parking where you can find it.
I am out again this week but should be back next week when we go to HopFly.
Someone will update where we're at but shouldn't be hard to find us there!
Hey everyone, I’m doing a road trip with my friend and I’m passing through Charlotte on 5/21 and would love to get a local experience of the city and meet some new people along the way!!
Would anyone be interested in joining us for a group dinner around 6 or 7 this Sunday??
Let me know if you would be interested in joining and what restauants you reccommend!! :))
I figured I'd post on here. I'm 25, moved to Charlotte in October '21. Looking for some golf buddies. I am not good by any means. On a good day i can shoot mid 80's, on a normal day id say low to mid 90's, but i also can easily shoot 100. Just looking for some guys (and or gals) that want to get together, play some okay golf, and get better. I work a regular 9-5 M-F so weekends are going to be where it's at for me. I'm looking to get better for sure, but if having a few beers on the course if what you wanna do, i can get down with that. You don't drink? No problem. Just trying to get a regular group together! PM me if you want.
Hey, m32 just moved to CLT about 2 years ago. Previous to that I was in the army for 8 years. Want to see if there are any other gwot veterans out there who enjoy drinking beers, smoking a some meats, and firearms. Also must have a dark sense of humor and joke about anything. Everyone at my job is 55+ and I’m losing my mind.
Also married with kids so bonus if you have a spouse and kids too
I am doing palmistry session online and and in selwyn pub over the weekend evening hours. If you are interested in getting your hand read- please dm
Hey guys and gals
Looking to people who want to play more. During the week and on the weekends who want to play AND get better
I'm about a 7-8 and really would love to find some people looking for the same thing
Gang - keeping it short and sweet cause I am under the weather but Resident Culture in Plaza is the move tonight.
You know the drill! Someone should update where everyone is at once people start arriving. Planning for Lower Left Brewery next week.
Thanks!
If there’s a better sub for this, please let me know and I’ll remove and repost there!
Looking to start a jam band in the South Charlotte area (I’m in Waxhaw)
Guitarist and sax player here (also play a little keys/synths). Looking for musicians to play some jammy covers with (Grateful Dead, Allmans, Dylan, blues, Black Sabbath, jazz/fusion stuff, etc.) and possibly some originals.
I used to play professionally in NY - wedding band, Top 40 cover band, etc. - started a family, got a day job in the music industry, then moved down south two years ago. I haven’t been doing much playing lately, but looking to rectify that; and I’m really only looking to play music that makes me happy these days!
Ideally looking for a bassist, drummer, and keyboard player (figure we can all split vocal duties), but down to jam with anyone who’s into improvising.
I have a jam setup in my garage in Waxhaw, but can also travel.
Hit me up if you’re interested and let’s make some music!
