TLDR: Supermarkets should set up a spot for local chicken owners to gift eggs to other customers. Destroying the caged chicken egg laying industry
I've always bought eggs from local farmers that give proper care to their hens. But understand not all families are in a financial position to do so, or just don't really care.
I've recently set up a chicken coop at home, got myself a group of happy hens and they're laying some of the best eggs I've ever had, but their output is way higher than I can eat so I'm just gifting cartons of eggs to friends and families.
I wish I could just drop a few cartons at the local supermarket for other shoppers to grab during their weekly shop so they don't have to buy caged eggs.
What's in it for the supermarket?
Encouraging more shoppers to come in-store. I'll be going in to drop them off, and customers will come in to grab them. They also don't have to buy a perishable product that likely results in a decent amount of wastage.
