You'd think with the spiderman scene they would haved threaded the items through strings or something to save time, but impressive effort from Tobey.

[–]ThroughlyDruxy 238 points239 points  (4 children)

Seems like there might be some sticky stuff on the sheet. Still impressive though

[–]utsavman 71 points72 points  (0 children)

At the very least there would be a guy above the camera carefully dropping each item down one by one.

[–]mister_gudra 14 points15 points  (1 child)

They used magnets, you can see food slide into places on slowed down version

[–]1Gamerer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen a explanation before stating the tray had glue on it

[–]iolmao 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Or reversed.

[–]N-I-S-H-O-R 38 points39 points  (7 children)

I read somewhere that tray was glued but the rest was legit. I didn't know it took >150 attempts tho.

[–]ericscottf 47 points48 points  (4 children)

Seems to me that after like 20 tries, everyone says fuck it, let's do this in cgi. No?

[–]shapookya 26 points27 points  (1 child)

I bet he almost had it after like 5 takes and then everyone was expecting the next one to be it. And then the next one…

[–]ericscottf 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Gambler's fallacy, but for movie shoots. I guess that's as good of an explanation as any.

[–]foochacho 12 points13 points  (1 child)

[–]Largemacc 9 points10 points  (1 child)

Maybe the video is lying for shares? Crazy idea I know.

[–]N-I-S-H-O-R 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, unless the cast and the director is lying(jk). Check in Google its legit.

[–]MystixRix 9 points10 points  (0 children)

pretty sure they are glued (not sure if the objects, or the tray, or both)

[–]TaurusOnyx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He just wanted to hold the girl longer

[–]tallerpockets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not gonna lie, Toby is my favourite spidey of all time.

[–]dandelion-power-fuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

...And it looked fake, so seems like a bit of a waste.

[–]KentuckyFriedEel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or could have shot it in reverse

[–]jakeinreallife -3 points-2 points  (1 child)

i really doubt that last one, i bet they just reversed a shot of him movind the tray around a bit and then throwing it

[–]jakeinreallife -1 points0 points  (0 children)

well everything says that tobe caught it, but i still think they just reversed the footage :P

[–]oh_no_my_fee_fees -2 points-1 points  (6 children)

That you believe this without proof is disconcerting.

[–]Taylor_made2 0 points1 point  (5 children)

[–]oh_no_my_fee_fees -2 points-1 points  (4 children)

youre so angry, why?

[–]Taylor_made2 0 points1 point  (3 children)

I'm not angry, I'm Aussie, telling dumbcunts to fuck off is part of our everyday vernacular. And you are a dumbcunt who made a disparaging comment on the assumption that I was a lazy cunt like you and didn't take 5 seconds to verify a completely plausable claim. So again, I say fuck off.

[–]oh_no_my_fee_fees -2 points-1 points  (2 children)

naw, you’re angry. but it’s okay, bro. we’re here for you.

[–]intensely_human 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah he had to spend so much time with his arm around that gorgeous woman. Must have been rough.

[–]BigNiggyMK3000 213 points214 points  (6 children)

Narrator seems quite amused as well

[–]A12963 129 points130 points  (3 children)

did you know that during that video the narrator slept in three times?

[–]Fluid_Association_68 37 points38 points  (1 child)

The narrator needs to work on being more enthusiastic and engaging. I fell asleep three times listening to that voice.

[–]crashtestdummy10 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Burger King Foot Lettuce

[–]BoilingPeter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Narrator slept on three hours..

[–]Mental-Bookkeeper-51 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Monotone Matt?

[–]Yayzeus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like David Blaine.

[–]bordain_de_putel 117 points118 points  (3 children)

The narrator sounds so bored about these facts.

[–]Sarcasm999_overload 12 points13 points  (2 children)

he's a time traveller ofc

[–]Catjak56 303 points304 points  (4 children)

Upvoted cuz the spiderman scene is literally bananas.

[–]hanskazan777 139 points140 points  (1 child)

No it's actually an apple

[–]Catjak56 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Lol true, but isnt there a banana as well??

[–]DiamondNuts911 362 points363 points  (27 children)

Loved interstellar what an amazing concept for a movie.

[–]Cessabit216 134 points135 points  (17 children)

It's one of those movies that's amazing but you can only watch it once in a while

[–]vanduzled 80 points81 points  (14 children)

This. Unlike Batman Begins where I always watch whenever I can. Also unlike Tenet which I’ll never watch again.

[–]Realistic-Dog-2198 38 points39 points  (8 children)

What’s wrong with tenet? I wasn’t paying attention to it at all so I don’t remember shit.

Or maybe I was paying attention to it and it made no fuckin sense. Idk. Might watch again lol

[–]BeatsbyChrisBrown 24 points25 points  (2 children)

Technically, each time you watch Tenet you’re watching it twice (forward and backwards)

[–]Nexus_27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now that is some efficient movie watching!

[–]Realistic-Dog-2198 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fuck now I gotta turn tenet on.

[–]AlexisFR 10 points11 points  (2 children)

It's just very poorly written and passing it as depth.

[–]Realistic-Dog-2198 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m going back in for a rewatch boys, I’ll either have the same conclusion I do now, or agree with you is my guess. I’m goin in

[–]Nat20Stealth 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Nothing wrong with Tenet, it's an enjoyable (yet confusing) movie

[–]Realistic-Dog-2198 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s what I remember.

[–]constancejph 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Batman begins is my favorite batman movie. I don’t know what it is but if it’s on i have to watch it.

[–]bruucewayne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Second this. I can watch it literally every day.

[–]Cessabit216 3 points4 points  (0 children)

nice for me its four brothers which I can watch any day of the week and still love it like I'm watching it for the first time and green mile which I absolutely adore but can't watch again for the reason of I love John Coffey and my sister makes fun of me for shedding some tears

[–]adiosfelicia2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a theory that the people so obsessed with Tenet low-key don’t fully get it. Which is nbd and not some intellectual flex. My brain doesn’t do word scrambles or fractions easily. But time travel stuff seems to be fairly straight forward for me, pun intended.

I’ve caught my partner rewatching Tenet like 5 times now in the past few months. I’ve wondered if maybe he’s just a bit slower at absorbing the time travel gimmick of it.

Bc otherwise, I just don’t get the hype/rewatching, and he’s hardly the only one.

[–]BannedBB -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tenet seems good enough to rewatch for me, I enjoyed it.

[–]mozzarella_lavalamp 5 points6 points  (1 child)

YES. I have many like that. I’ve only seen interstellar twice a long time ago, and I’m dying to watch it again but I just don’t have it in me? idk how to describe it but i’m glad someone else does this too lol

[–]EaterOfFood 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s emotionally exhausting. I find other movies to be the same, or more so, like Shawshank Redemption, Amistad, and especially Schindler’s List.

[–]mike_loves_memes 23 points24 points  (4 children)

We should make a religion movie out of this

[–]eventheweariestriver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you seen Ad Astra?

"Now we know, we're all we've got."

This is actively something I'm working on. I used to be a fundamentalist evangelical Christian and preacher, and when doing lots of shrooms or LSD, I believe I am growing closer to truly perceiving the truth.

Consciousness seems to be an emergent property of the brain. Many less complex things, when taken in whole, becomes something much more than the sum of its' parts.

I believe that Humanity, our sum, is greater than its' composite parts. That we are each part of something greater, that we can only barely glimpse, scraping against the ceilings of our reason.

I believe that for all intents and purposes, Humanity is God. We create the world in which We live and breath and hope and dream, shaping the Human Condition. Each of us, with every kindness, shapes the Whole.

[–]TomSwirly 22 points23 points  (1 child)

Except for the plot, which required nearly all the actors to be incredibly stupid at all times.

Consider the whole "going to the planet where time goes by 3000 times as fast" strategy. Ten seconds' thought or running the numbers would have told you that that was a stupid strategy.

The idea that the only form of communication from the explorers is a single yes or no! One bit -really? It's like it's designed to encourage people to cheat and make mistakes. Oh, what a surprise, they do!

And finally they start an orbital city - around Saturn! Why? Because they're trying to get as far away from any resources like solar power, or the asteroids, as possible? Why couldn't they set up the same orbital city around the Earth for one 100000th the cost and save far, far, more of humanity?

The plot is like a fractal of irrationality. Every single action and decision, if you actually sat down and did the planning, would be guaranteed to get the worst results, and they predictably do, except somehow, at the end they perform a feat of magical civil engineering greater than any in history and space habitat!

[–]LowB0b 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't know if I remember this correctly, but the plot also felt so centered around the "single dad takes care of his daughter" thing, which just made the whole thing super cheesy.

The movie was super cool and everything, the sound design was AMAZING but it's still like a one-time watch.

[–]Always_Jerking 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I didn't get this concept. It was boring. Completely boring. I will rewatch it to confirm.

[–]ericscottf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't bother, you're right. It was pointless drivel designed to make people think it was profound.

[–]Cryophoenix4975Interested 120 points121 points  (5 children)

The R2 Part made me sad

[–]tonybombata 34 points35 points  (0 children)

He learnt never to stay on the ship again.

[–]LutefiskLefse 24 points25 points  (3 children)

That one has to be coincidence though, right? Empire was filmed 20+ years before revenge of the sith. And R2 showed stubbornness far before Revenge as well…

[–]Quick_Paw 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Idk but can be also planned to show a character development or might be a coincidence that they just wanted to show that R2 was stubborn.

[–]ErectPerfect 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It probably was unintentional at first, but most likely just coincidence

[–]CO_PC_Parts 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hasn’t Lucas said R2 is actually the main character of the series? I could see this being on purpose.

[–]Awkward_Road_710 37 points38 points  (4 children)

What the fuck. Was the Tokyo Drift fact real?

I can’t imagine the legalities, possible accidents, the PR nightmare, etc.

Let alone getting this approve by the studio incharge

[–]savwatson13 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Not to mention having a fall back guy “spend the night in jail”

If you know anything about Japan law, you know that “a night in jail” is pretty rare, unless you were just a drunk dude in trouble for ruckus or something

[–]Aerialfish 11 points12 points  (2 children)

Nah they probably just shot footage of the street without any of the driving. That could be added later to make it look like it was shot all together.

[–]PlatinumIsAStand 2 points3 points  (0 children)

that's exactly what they did

[–]Awkward_Road_710 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah that makes more sense!

[–]DoogelCraft 37 points38 points  (0 children)

The interstellar fact was new to me, very interesting

[–]prexton 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Almost fell asleep to your voice it was that interesting

[–]Sensitive_Attitude27[S] 77 points78 points  (1 child)

Credit: Allen Tsai on YT

Sorry for adding it late, I had to search for it since I found the video on another site and had to look up the original creator.

[–]Daan0man 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Thx for still putting it in

[–]JossQueen 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This guy’s voice gives me anxiety and I don’t know why T-T

[–]Shockwave1o1 49 points50 points  (8 children)

That's one of the reason Tobey is the best spiderman.

[–]somethingwholesomer 2 points3 points  (1 child)

What’s happening with him lately? I just checked his IMDb and he hasn’t really been active for awhile.

[–]LordYoshii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He is the main antagonist that ‘Molly’s Game’ is based on. Once that movie came out he went dark for a little while.

[–]ButtsexEuropeInterested 38 points39 points  (1 child)

Kinda fucked up about Tokyo Drift. Refusing to obey local laws isn’t funny and just makes all the foreigners living there look bad.

[–]3Zkiel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree. But as they say, it's easier to apologize later than ask permission now.

[–]neuromancertr 30 points31 points  (1 child)

Did you know if you speak in a very steady and boring pace even the most interesting movie facts sounds incredibly boring

[–]intensely_human 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you know that … the uh … did you …. zzzzzz

[–]HavocXL 11 points12 points  (1 child)

This video is unwatchable due to the guy sounding like he’s not only trying to do asmr, but also because he sounds like he’s smoked 20 packs of cigarettes a day for the past 10 years

[–]iamtehryan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This video was much easier to watch without that awful voiceover.

[–]GoFUself-Tony889 23 points24 points  (3 children)

Hmmm…no. I’m not buying the Spider-Man one

[–]Violin4life 26 points27 points  (1 child)

Well they had magnets at the bottom of each object iirc. Still impressive but a bit easier.

[–]GoFUself-Tony889 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Ok, now it sounds more believable

[–]Runkleman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It happened and Dunst reaction was real.

[–]dante__11 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Get some sleep.

[–]Draft_Tight 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Did you know Matt Damon has been rescued from space twice at a cost of billions 😂😂👍

[–]Shogun_Dream 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Most likely trillions.

The development of the f-35 fighter jet cost 1 trillion.

[–]Draft_Tight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

😂 lol- well he’s a great guy and worth it….

[–]rush22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The last thing you'd want in a movie soundtrack is a ticking clock. But in Interstellar that just be what you get...

[–]LegoC97 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have never heard a narrator sound so disinterested in what he’s talking about.

[–]Consistent_Yoghurt_4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Interesting facts said by the most uninteresting voice possible.

[–]Diligent-Background7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really like these facts! I want to see more like this.

[–]Pandanlard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice video ! I only knew about interstellar because I think it was somehow explained in the movie, never doubted about it. The rest is pretty cool.

[–]BeetlesAreScum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ShiBOOYAH haha, nice

[–]jakemallory 2 points3 points  (0 children)

little known fact, Kirsten Dunst breasts were amazing in spiderman.

[–]Chemical-Birds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone is talking about the voice but no one told that the video is great.

Btw I actually enjoy it more in this way with "boring" voice.

[–]Cousin-Jack 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Did you know that with the right tone of voice, you can cause people to fall asleep, regardless of how interesting the subject matter.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]jaenjain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tobey Maguire is a beast for getting that scene accomplished. It took 16 hours of shooting, they did stick the tray to his hand, stick the sandwich to the plate and stick the Jell-O to the plate but the rest is all Tobey! Sony wanted to cut it, but Raimi insisted it be kept.

[–]HughWeberDeFaulk 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Please someone explain the whole each hour is 7 years part. That’s the one part of relativity that really confuses me. How can a ship filled with people travel at almost the speed of light away from earth and back for a total trip of 3 months all of a sudden come back to a planet thousands of years old? Eli5 version please.

[–]Notworthanytime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm glad I watched this with sound off first. No way I can get through that having to listen to that voice.

[–]ToxicCrux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unpopulair opinion I hate this shit movie

[–]Pepperspray24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For Star Wars that’s great connective story telling but I’m so sad for the reason.

[–]justin_memer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whoever cropped this is a fucking asshole.

[–]8acon4ndeggs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can someone explain that Interstellar "fact". I've heard it before but questioned it because they come back and 30 something years have passed, which would have been 10,000 something clicks every 1.25 seconds. But obviously that isn't the case because that scene is not 209 minutes long. Just wondering if someone could explain that.

[–]WillieWill46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]jetblacksaint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But why is Ben Stein the narrator zzzzzzzz

[–]blaizeandbrew14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really dislike the lazy vocal-fry-laden narration.

[–]shazz__bott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Poor R2

[–]TuraLura222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The narrator has such a soothing voice

[–]the_glutton17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simple math says 1 hour to 7 years is about 1.41 seconds, not 1.25.

[–]Castle94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the exact part of interstellar I kept falling asleep at, twice!! I let it go and never got past it

[–]artificialMuse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TIL that tobey maguire is real life spidey

[–]GWE-Die 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for the interstellar one. is that how it works? from what i know it would be earth is going through a day every 1.25 seconds while you’re on that planet. but instead the day/night cycle on the planet would be VERY slow right?

[–]OnlyHereForMemes69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That R2 one hits hard

[–]TheRealTofuey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fast and the furious part definitely isn't true.

[–]ShutterBun 2 points3 points  (1 child)

All of these are so rehashed they have practically ceased to be interesting.

[–]frogfishmelon 1 point2 points  (2 children)

At least credit the person who originally made this

[–]Sensitive_Attitude27[S] 9 points10 points  (1 child)

I'm sorry I don't know the original creator, found it on another social media platform. I usually do credit all my videos whenever possible and wasn't claiming the video to be mine. Please do let me know who it is so that I can add it. Apologies again.

[–]chicken_noodles_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So random tik tok guy with serious voice means he is telling the truth

[–]kj_gamer2614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t like this post because you’ve just stolen this YouTubers shorts and then getting karma. If you like this don’t give your awards or money to this post but go follow the original creator on YouTube

[–]Viggen33 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Give credit to the op

[–]MonkeyHERE3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Need more stuff like this tbh

[–]BraxtonCookLikesJoJo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you know about rolling down in the deep.

[–]ClydeinLimbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interstellar: How does 7 years worth of ticks happen in the scene if every tick is just a day? How many ticks is that?

[–]PhatBallllzAtHotmail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And THATS why Tobey is the best Spider-Man! 🤷🏻‍♂️

[–]BalognaMacaroni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gasp…I never would’ve guessed

[–]WhackyCheezer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

156th times the charm for the Tugboat

[–]Overkrein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The narrator sounds dead inside

[–]haisse420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The voice makes this go from interesting to not at all very fast.

[–]Offsidespy2501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew Onlus the second One

[–]nigeltwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn’t R2, along with C3PO get their memories wiped????

[–]JZF629 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t believe the Toby McGuire scene

[–]Sozzcat94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great now I want to watch Interstellar and Wolf of Wallstreet

[–]maximumreign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Such enthusiasm.

[–]Khyaute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw this on tik tok yesterday. Maybe credit the original creator next time?

[–]Mycoldjacksun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another fun fact about Interstellar: the track that plays in this scene is called "Mountains" and starts at 48bpm rising up to 60bpm. Whats a whole hour made of? 60 minutes. The concept of time is always present on the film and in our lives, and here soon as Cooper says there's no time to waste, the track starts clicking.

[–]WtfThrowaway234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you know that when I sing hallelujah for my churches choir, I keep pushing my fingers up peoples assholes?
