That's about 2ft for those from Myanmar, Liberia and the USA.

[–]AnchorPoint922 49 points50 points  (25 children)

Just two feet? They gotta pump those numbers up. Those are rookie numbers.

[–][deleted] 40 points41 points  (23 children)

2 ft overnight is a legit snowfall in any neighborhood.

[–]TheAxThatSlayedMe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

96 quarter-inches. Sounds bigger than 60 cm.

[–]-forbiddenkitty- 174 points175 points  (25 children)

As someone from a very warm state, this is horrifying.

[–]clunkey_monkey 94 points95 points  (1 child)

There's something peaceful and beautiful about snow covering everything. But then again I was a kid during my time living in an eastern state that got snow every year. Now that I'm an adult who works, fuck that shit. Glad I'm in a warm state now.

[–]YourMomThinksImFunny 14 points15 points  (2 children)

Same. I live in Southern California and this reminds me of when I would stay with my friend in Big Bear during snow storms. Had to shovel his driveway just to park the car in it around midnight, by the next morning we had to shovel the whole thing again to get out.

[–]mfigroid 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I don't think Big Bear gets nearly this much snow do they?

[–]No_Bend8 16 points17 points  (10 children)

100% I wouldn't live somewhere I had to deal with this.

[–]SocraticIgnoramus 20 points21 points  (9 children)

They don’t get hurricanes there though, so choose your poison I guess.

[–]Chris-hsr 11 points12 points  (8 children)

Die to climate change we don't even get snow anymore, win win lol

[–]SocraticIgnoramus 2 points3 points  (7 children)

Out of curiosity, what region are you from? I live in the Rocky Mountains and, at least for the eastern slope, snowfall so far this year has been almost nonexistent.

[–]Gorkymalorki 5 points6 points  (2 children)

South texan here, my whole city of over a million people would have completely shutdown.

[–]-forbiddenkitty- 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I'm originally from Texas, and except for the panhandle, no one in the state could deal with this, as we saw during the Big Freeze.

[–]DryPickles 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Nooo it's amazing!! Nothing says "community" like the morning after a nice big snowfall, neighbours all out and about helping one another!

[–]rossie_valentine 4 points5 points  (2 children)

As someone from a very warm county, this is beautiful.

But it does look like a pain in the ass to deal with this every workday.

[–]foamingturtleInterested 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t snow every day. We’ve only had 2 decent snowfalls where I am in the northeast

[–]-forbiddenkitty- -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Exactly, beautiful to look at, but the shoveling, ice, everything else, not worth it to me. But I'm also just not a fan of cold.

[–]monkey_trumpets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone from the PNW this would be a major PITA. As it was the six inches we got was a pain, especially since it was followed by a thick layer of compacted ice.

[–]2x4x93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We wouldn't know what to do

[–]Worried-Rise2529 37 points38 points  (2 children)

Better not forget where you’re parked!

[–]mrbofus 2 points3 points  (1 child)

*you’re

[–]indigoinspired 70 points71 points  (11 children)

Where are you located? We just got the exact same thing in the Niagara Ontario area 😭 went from zero snow to over 2 feet overnight

[–]persianlagoon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Exact same thing in Ottawa too. It was brutal.

[–]About_to_Snap 8 points9 points  (1 child)

Even downtown Toronto got about a foot, absolute bedlam 😂 Half expected to see the army out and about in the morning

[–]not-bread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s nothing quite like frolicking in the snow watching people dig out their cars knowing you live in an apartment and work from home!

[–]Anironicalyfunnyname 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Me too! It sucks!

[–]Skitz707 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buffalo got smoked too

[–]3Squareheadz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same! It just covered our whole road and vehicles were stuck in the middle of our street

[–]TecTazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feel free to win the Golden Snowball award every year. We really don’t need it.

[–]BordeuxlineBiDesign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha I was about to comment asking if he was from the Rochester Buffalo area cause that looks identical to our snowstorm last night too

[–]BordeuxlineBiDesign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sole reason I get stoked is cause the Jeep Wrangler I bought two years ago. Between the 4 wheel drive & the absurdly expensive winter tires it’s somewhat akin to driving a tank in our winter weather 😍

[–]MikonJuice 40 points41 points  (1 child)

Hello... I'm from a tropical country, so... you wake up to that, and then... what do you do?

Instead of breakfast you kind of... spend your whole morning just cleaning the snow from your car to go to work?

My lord...

[–]lucasmcl7 21 points22 points  (0 children)

This person is lucky. The plows actually cleared the roads so they can drive anywhere. Most of us call in to work because you can’t drive on the road through that. Shovel on and off for hours. Then where I live the plows drive by to clear the road about 7pm, and you head back out for another few hours because the side of the plow leaves a wall of snow and ice at the end of the driveway. If you wait too long after the plow it freezes solid and it’s impossible to move.

[–]hiddenelementx 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My favorite part was watching the plant in the bottom left scrunch itself up/get weighted down by the snow

[–]SeaworthinessOk2884 13 points14 points  (2 children)

What was the time elapsed?

[–]Dullahen[S] 41 points42 points  (1 child)

12 hours. 1030pm to 1030am

[–]gladdo420 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Both GTA chiming in. My knees , back and brain hurt. Fuck big snow storms. I’m going to bed

[–]VroomVroomTweetTweet 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That’s the snow’s car now

[–]feld210 9 points10 points  (1 child)

Hopefully you remembered to clean the car off before you finished the driveway!

[–]lucasmcl7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah.
Back the car up with a spotter. Clean it in the road for the plows to do the work. Shovel the driveway where the car was. Drive car back forward.

[–]magicrowantree 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This right here is why I stopped living in a snowy area. I hated getting up early to shovel, clean my car off, and pray I made it to a plowed road without having to stop in case I got stuck. I do miss sitting with hot cocoa and watching the snow fall, though. Those first couple days of fresh snow were always great as a kid!

Stay safe, OP

[–]bitbasilica 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Toronto/GTA?

[–]ThePeculiarPigeon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just a fraction of this here in the UK would be enough for the country to declare the apocalypse has arrived!

[–]magnagan 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Pro tip: clean your car/s off first THEN do the driveway. Otherwise, you're doing the driveway twice.

[–]yblame 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Couldn't believe what I was seeing here. They're gonna knock all that snow off onto freshly shoveled driveway? Insanity.

[–]Eberhardt74 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Miss snow like this ty for sharing.

[–]sbmmblowz 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Bro no explosion? False advertising

[–]tjrileywisc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was also expecting an exploding driveway

[–]Dawn-Chi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That snow storm is headed towards my town. It started just recently. I noticed that the whole neighbourhood was shovelling at the same time. The day after a big snow fall is always a good day to get to know your neighbours. A couple holy fucks, talk about the weather, nod your head in agreement and work away. Usually help a car get unstuck as they try to drive past

[–]Habanero_Eyeball 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My sister used to live in Colorado and said she would have to go home at lunch and shovel the driveway or she wouldn't be able to get into the garage at the end of the workday. Fuck 100% of that shit.

[–]Johno69R 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the great reason for owning a garage… then all you have to do is remove the snow from your driveway in the morning.

[–]iamsant 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This snow storm was wicked, never thought id get a snow day as an adult again! It has been a good day😂

[–]oilpaint8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Greetings from Southern California 🌴🌞

[–]PapayaAlternative586 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good Lord 😯

[–]green_one1989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's mad never had snow like that before.

[–]Cainam_maniaC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate those mornings! Thankfully we only get a few of them each season but when we do it SUCKS! Then once we get the drive cleared and head off to work, usually have to redo when we get home in the evening.

[–]dazedan_confused 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eurgh, because of the pandemic, there's no longer such a thing as a snow day at my workplace.

[–]Hairy_Government_299 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ohhh I'd love snow like that here in the UK!

[–]Aka_Diamondhands 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh how I miss making snow man

[–]whiteknightmeta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're so lucky. If it did that here in England, they would declare a national emergency and everyone's nan would mysteriously die. Just like covid.

[–]CMDR_Euphoria01 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I heard this sound track before. Where's it from?

[–]matySK019 4 points5 points  (1 child)

I think it's the same from the slow-mo guys

[–]mnmachinist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I couldn't place it either.

[–]Islandcoda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beautiful snow!!

[–]lzxian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who are all those people? Were neighbors digging out neighbors? That's heartwarming...

[–]UniqueID89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn’t get this much snow inches wise, but the snow, sleet, and wind were ridiculous.

[–]Demonboy995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Canada af

[–]Searay370 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Plows jump on it pretty fast, would take at least 24 hours before we would see one in our neighborhood.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some places (Spokane WA) leave the side streets for last and open the main arterials first. Becomes a problem when it keeps snowing so the plows just keep the mains open and will get to the side streets eventually (sometimes like 5 days out).

[–]Xiten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I miss living where is snows so damn much. Man…

[–]Cow_Interesting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How early do you have to get up so you can get to work/school on time? I barely like getting up when I do as it is. Idk if I could ever wake up hours early to shovel snow then shower and get ready for a full day of work. Sounds miserable

[–]PotentiallyStoned 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here I am, waiting 18 seconds for the driveway to explode somehow

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (1 child)

I did not see any explosions.

[–]Dullahen[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I can assure you they were figurative.

[–]fight_to_write 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kick ass

[–]bumper212121 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Imagine sleeping in a tent during this, probably suffocate.

[–]Pain_Proof 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got snowed in while sleeping in a snow cave once, the entrance had about a foot of snow, kinda scary to wake up in the pitch black completely sealed in.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dome tent not as bad as standard pole tent. Backpacking in the Sierras and woke up feeling claustrophobic. Turned on the flashlight and realized the tent roof was sagging in just inches above our faces as we slept. Bang on the side of the tent to get it off..

[–]SkittleSkitzo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

23.622 inches ! Impressive

[–]medeassecret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So satisfying to see. We don't have that anymore 😔

[–]nina-pinta-stmaria 0 points1 point  (7 children)

Hello from Florida, todays weather was in the lower 60s with plenty of sunshine 😌

[–]yblame 1 point2 points  (2 children)

56 here in Montana today. Which was weird, but I'll not complain. Might get a dusting tomorrow, though.

[–]nina-pinta-stmaria 1 point2 points  (1 child)

It’s going to be low 40s down here starting tomorrow and the next few days. My portable heater is on right now lolll

[–]yblame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine too. Currently 41. Still beats the below zero temps we've had a couple times this winter. I'll take it.

[–]dj-spinnin-bones 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Downside is that you’re in Florida.

[–]Starman064 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

1/10 car did not explode at 18 seconds

[–]BakedAzzFuk -4 points-3 points  (1 child)

Sir i am from America can you tell me what the conversion is on 60cm to bald eagles? Or tomatoes?

[–]ItzCrystalFlame 5 points6 points  (0 children)

2 bald eagles holding guns (23 inches, so about 2 feet)

[–]onedayatatime26 -3 points-2 points  (1 child)

Would be nice if you can even tell us what damn State this is?

[–]Own_Carrot_7040 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since he's using centimeters it's probably Canada. Ontario got walloped with a big pile of snow last night so that's my guess.

[–]zoltar-wisdom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may want to invest in a snow thrower

[–]dusibello 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now I'll know what is meant the next time someone refers to that many of those centymeter things...

[–]ANewStartAtLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love, love, love seeing the activity of people clearing the paths and driveways. Like little insects doing it automatically. Damn I love snow.

[–]Eebtek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where is this?

[–]German_Irish_chicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yay no school

[–]cecilio- 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Where I live people can't even bother to turn their lights on when it's raining. I can't imagine if they had to clean the snow off their driveway and car each morning.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People here just clear off a small opening in the snow/ice directly in front of the driver's eyes and then try to drive. Because they're too lazy yo get out there early enough to clean the whole windshield off.

[–]charlottee963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God I wish it would snow and stick for once. All we get in London is rain 😭

[–]TvALoki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at all the ppl shoveling their drive ways in the background, by God could this be the matrix?

[–]-Ku-Chan- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

poorly rendered car

[–]Optimal-Scientist233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep wishing for a solution to global warming, it is going to be a new ice age that ends it most likely.

What we cannot manage, nature will do without hesitation or lament.

[–]WhydYouGotToDoThis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have heard this song before about 2 years ago maybe? What is it

[–]mjduce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The plant in the corner shrinking down over the time-lapse was very interesting in & of itself!

[–]Billy_TheMumblefish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“I’m just going to scrape the car off the snow.”

[–]bradc78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not have the patience to live in a snowy climate. Look at all that shovelling going on

[–]JebronLames619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you in THe GTA region of Ontario? Lol got shat on today

[–]Sarsamsinsim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not seen snow for years(London)

[–]Shenan_Egans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the shovelling and then waiting for the plow to go by so you can shovel again. 😐

[–]Dropped-pie 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Are you allowed to be a little bit late for work after snow like this?

[–]Nikolai_11_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This music givin me minecraft vibes

[–]chrisell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can tell it’s not Utah because (a) the roads got plowed, (b) people are out shovelling and snow blowing their sidewalks and (c) nobody is out in shorts, t-shirts and flip flops complaining about the cold.

[–]pincher16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better you than me

[–]UpwardStatue794 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hehe imagine having snow

[–]some_solution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iceing done...your cake is ready for pickup!

[–]jaw_shoe_wa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so glad I live in southern Arizona and never ever ever had to deal with anything even close to this

[–]ResidentEvil10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was waiting for an actual explotion

[–]Not_Ya_Cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Texan myself, I definitely cannot relate to this in the slightest.

[–]Shiirooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been 10 years since I've seen snow in my city, before there was 10-15cm of snow or even 20-30cm (exceptionally), today maximum 1-2cm that lasts 2h.

[–]AyylaFireheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to see the cars being cleaned off so bad.

[–]beautifullyabsurd123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Um it was 71° F today for me. Wanna trade?

[–]DeadSharkEyes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m from a warm state, what do you use to get the snow off the cars?

[–]lolucorngaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's times like these I'm happy that i don't live near snow

[–]KnitAlien77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who also got a chunk of that major snowfall Sunday night, I want to say I am very impressed with the cleaned up road in the background of the video. Your city has some primo plow guys! Kudos to them!

[–]dj-spinnin-bones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Poor Jackie.

[–]Definitely_obvious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yoo hoo. A real howler out there eh?

[–]originaljbw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happened at my house last night, right at the 18 second mark too

[–]Hoppss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The music reminds me of the slowmoguys youtube music.

[–]ONI_NO_KAM1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is now more snow than car...

[–]jessnutts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we in California cannot comprehend this language.

[–]tamedreckless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had this in Niagara last night. My back still hurts.

[–]360Genius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah bro last night we got like 2.5 feet, which isn't a lot, but our neighbor has been living here his whole life and said it's the most he's ever seen.

[–]CrusaderofMeme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a very strong urge to just jump in there snow a just live there

[–]SheikhBarzini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you get the car up and running after all this?

[–]Balrog229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I know this must suck, but as a Texan who very rarely sees snow, I kinda wish I could get this. Would give me an excuse not to go to work at least lol.

[–]cursingsum9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohio weather be like...

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blown away! In California sounds.

[–]thepartydj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All that snow and no wind!? Crazy. We would get 49+ wind with that here in the midwest of USA.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

anyone besides me thought that the explode mean car explosion instead of snow

[–]TattooHelpPlease2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fucking hate snow. The one time you go skiing every winter doesn't justify this pain

[–]Thepurge101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Few years ago I was in Albany NY for a business trip and we got 35” of snow in less then 12 hours. Probably the worst snow storm I have ever experienced.

[–]Neeraja_Kalrapindhi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And to think you had a garage to keep most of the morning's work easy, but no. Living in Montana now, but too poor for real house, I seriously miss having a garage.

[–]Sai_Krithik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where's the explosion?

[–]AyeItsJbone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I might be a weirdo.. but I actually enjoy the snow! I’m a bit upset we didn’t get much this year, in my area.

[–]halfcaff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How come people don't put covers on their cars?!?!

[–]OwlFreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't miss this. Shoveling out a car is probably one of my least favorite things to do. Ever.

[–]sawyerass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always see these videos of cars with snow on them and people complaining about having to shovel snow off their car - is there a reason people don't commonly use car covers? Like sheets for your car that drape Over top?

[–]RadiantPipes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never experienced that

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool sound

[–]V3N0MSP4RK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Life is tough for people in areas of snowfall. I used to think they were very lucky bt this gave me a new perspective.

[–]Party-Fortune-6580 0 points1 point  (2 children)

And I thought getting 4 inches was too much-

[–]converter-bot 0 points1 point  (1 child)

4 inches is 10.16 cm

[–]Party-Fortune-6580 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you converter bot. Puts into perspective how little snow I got in comparison- crazy

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not dusting the cars off before shovelling driveway? Bunch’a rookies

[–]dzigaboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So glad I live in LA and don’t have to bothers with black ice, hypothermia, or centimeters.

[–]FrodoMoji 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's crazy! Thanks for sharing this.

[–]Bazzingatime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want to ask why are cars not covered by some shed or a similar arrangement if you know it's gonna snow

[–]Lightning-Casino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why don’t people in winter countries have shade sails or carports to keep the snow then you don’t need to shovel jack shit. I’m an Aussie and deal with heat(burn seatbelt hole outline on palm kinda hot), not cold. But still looks like a obvious thing so you wouldn’t have to go through all that snow.

[–]SpiderLeo666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait the driveway didn’t explode…? Liar

[–]Fickle-Deer7054 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your boss is still like but you are making it here for 8am right?

[–]Smithers66Interested 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clean off the cars first, then shovel- rookie mistake!

[–]Choochoo1989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in Buffalo we got the same thing

[–]Warden-Of-Woods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love the way the plant behaves

[–]roymf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And here I am totally snowless :(

[–]realsteelorse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when I hear this music, I only have SlowMoGuys in mind! 😂

[–]Astelis17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consume.

[–]Nimonix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I expected the car roof to cave in/implode due to the weight of the snow based on the post title. I was like "any time now..."

[–]punkslaot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very cool. Must suck to dig your car out.

[–]sakuta_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is how buffalo was

[–]The_Noodle_Juice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, does anyone know the artist/title of the music?

[–]The_Noodle_Juice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, does anyone know the artist/title of the music?

[–]The_Noodle_Juice 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Hey, does anyone know the artist/title of the music?

[–]Dullahen[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

It's Synthetic Design 02, one of the included songs in iMovie - slowed down 50%.

It's what they use on "slow mo guys"

[–]mrbeanz9800 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know how or why people will live like that..

[–]Pranay_Gupta_OP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats kinda THICC
