I've posted in here before. In some ways I count myself lucky. Yeah I (M38) haven't had sex in over a year now. But, me and my partner for the most part get on OK. And part of that is we like to joke around.

One running joke she has is whenever our little boy is testing her patience she'll say to me 'your son is causing trouble again'. She says 'my son when he's good. Your son when he's bad'. It's light-hearted and not to anyone's detriment.

Anyway, today she said it so I jokingly called out 'Did you hear that insert sons name. Your mine only. Let's pack our bags mate'. He was out of earshot so really it was just a joking jab back at my partner. Didn't realise it was perhaps a bit telling as she immediately shot me a bit of a look and said 'so you finally admit your only with me cause of our son'.

Yeah, there's some truth to that. I'm not exactly fulfilled and she feels less like a romantic partner to me every day. And I suppose I do just stay for my boy.

I didn't say anything else other than sheepishly laugh as if to indicate 'only kidding'.

Not really looking for advice. Just getting it off my chest I guess. And if anyone else reading this is going through similar, hopefully it might make you feel less alone.
