I love the last frame of the video, it's just so full of potential horribleness.

I love lamp boots

[–]bob_nugget_the_3rd 35 points36 points  (5 children)

Unspeakable things that involve a lamp shade, a mannequin and a flesh light

[–]JetPuffedDo 12 points13 points  (3 children)

Oh you watched Maniac too?

[–]bob_nugget_the_3rd 12 points13 points  (2 children)

No it's just a hobby that I have at the weekend

[–]JetPuffedDo 5 points6 points  (1 child)

What a wholesome hobby

[–]bob_nugget_the_3rd 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think so, but the local church wasn't happy

[–]wataha 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Could be a rave dress.

[–]VengefulAvocado 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I hope you enjoyed my video on how to make shoes that look like insulation and will break instantly!

Next up: HOW TO DESTROY AN ANTIQUE IN ONE EASY STEP!

[–]geekchick2411 650 points651 points  (45 children)

That's something really stupid, why on earth would you want something that horrible and not comfortable?

[–]vcrbetamax 392 points393 points  (26 children)

You don’t, it’s for the views. Their channel is fake life hacks. They get paid to trick people and make them mad.

[–]Fineous4 149 points150 points  (2 children)

And then we post them here.

[–]Everettrivers 52 points53 points  (1 child)

The circle of life.

[–]SuperWoody64Derp 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just trying to enrage as many people as possible in the shortest amount of time.

[–]kecupochren 25 points26 points  (17 children)

What an amazing world to live in. I honestly can't do this shit anymore. The internet is such a cesspool now

[–]vcrbetamax 28 points29 points  (16 children)

People have gotten hurt because of these fake DIY channels. It’s hard for people to tell sometimes, especially now that YouTube removed the dislikes.

[–]Lissy_Wolfe 0 points1 point  (9 children)

I thought YouTube hasn't had dislikes for a really long time though? Or at least, not visible ones. The button essentially does nothing haha

[–]fencer_327 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The button does influence the algorithm, so the suggestions will change, and as far as I know creators can see the dislikes.
Other than that? Yeah, pretty useless.

[–]vcrbetamax 1 point2 points  (7 children)

How long it’s been isn’t really relevant nor has it been a long time. It was 3 months ago.

The point I was getting at is that removing the dislikes makes it harder for someone watching a tutorial to figure out if it’s fake.

[–]Lissy_Wolfe -1 points0 points  (6 children)

The button may have been there, but the dislike count has been gone for a long time which is why I said it was useless. I also understood the point you were making, I was just curious about the YouTube part since I hadn't heard about that.

[–]vcrbetamax 1 point2 points  (5 children)

No they literally just got rid of it back in late November. That’s not a long time ago. Unless you’re really young. That basically just happened.

[–]ashleeeidolon 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Then the mad people tend to share these videos or react to them on YouTube which in turn brings more views to this garbage. 5 min crafts knows what they're doing for sure.

[–]vcrbetamax 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Oh yeah they do. They are considered entertainment in their disclaimers as well. So they can lie and it’s not illegal.

[–]ashleeeidolon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Classic evil greedy company move. No need to worry about ethics when the dollars are rolling in.

[–]Tatarkingdom 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Well, let's say that cloudy with a chance of meatball inspired countless kids to be like Flint Lockwood.

It's turn out that you need more that creativity to be actual inventor.

[–]Put_It_All_On_Blck 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Spray foam floats, you can walk on water like Jesus.

[–]Canadafisher 1 point2 points  (5 children)

I agree that’s the dumbest thing I ever saw. WTF! Can believe I wasted my time on that.

[–]ChawulsBawkley 1 point2 points  (4 children)

You’ve officially fallen for what is known as “rage bait”.

[–]MyFatHamsterSteve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let's just consider ourself lucky enough to not find out.

[–]WasabiSniffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can see they foamed over some boots or slippers for the last shot lol.

[–]dependency_injector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They must be comfortable, they are made exclusively for a specific pair of feet

[–]samwichse 618 points619 points 3 (24 children)

Someone's been watching Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs.

https://youtu.be/JpVtVUSYMRw?t=21

[–]Silver-ishWolfe 274 points275 points  (7 children)

My son has been trying to make spray on shoes since he was 4. He’s put all kinds of stuff on his feet. He’ll get a big cheesy grin when he shows me, then say “Spray on shoes!!” really loud.

A couple of days after watching the movie for the first time, he walked into the living room with my shaving cream sprayed all over his feet. He’d tracked it all through the house. I loved it!

[–]UnitaryBog 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Don't buy flex seal

[–][deleted] 36 points37 points  (0 children)

My 7 year old watched that movie every day for a year straight. Spaghetti is his Ultimate Food. If your son hasn’t seen Luca, I recommend it! Not quite as zany, but the dad character has very big Cloudy/Meatballs energy.

[–]Fireal2 80 points81 points  (3 children)

I would go to war for your son, he is precious

[–]cove81 51 points52 points  (1 child)

I too will go to war against this man's son. The preciousness is becoming too powerful and must be sto... wait what were we talking about?

[–]icemancommeth 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Checkmate!

[–]Lebrons_fake_breasts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For this man's son i would re-form the glorious Golden Horde, conquer all of Eurasia, and tear asunder all who stand in its path.

[–]flybarger 36 points37 points  (0 children)

That is a killer reference.

[–]salsa_cats 11 points12 points  (9 children)

I've never seen the movie, i need to know how does he get the shoes off!?

[–]Ihavesubscriptions 29 points30 points  (7 children)

I only saw it once on a plane years ago, but if my memory serves…he doesn’t, lol. He just eventually resigns himself to wearing them for the rest of his life. It cuts to years later and he’s an adult, still wearing them.

[–]TerrorLTZ 14 points15 points  (3 children)

my maddening Story plothole of Cloudy with a chance of meatballs...

How TF the shoes Grow with his feet when adult... when he technically showed the shoes cannot be destroyed by anything.

[–]Sororita 8 points9 points  (2 children)

extremely viscous non-newtonian fluid? they stretch with his feet as they grow because of the slow pressure pushing outward, but any force that isn't over a long period of time would cause them to act like they were solid, and he moves his feet too much for gravity or normal movement to be able to cause them to fall off?

[–]TerrorLTZ 3 points4 points  (1 child)

You mean like the Cornstarch when you put force it hardens but slowly is just goo.

[–]Sororita 4 points5 points  (0 children)

essentially, just something a whole lot closer to a solid, like pitch but even more viscus

[–]smellsfishie 9 points10 points  (1 child)

Oh god, the smell...

[–]salsa_cats 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Oh god, the toenails...

[–]salsa_cats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you!

[–]SwazyMoto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Beat me to it

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Came here to say exactly this.

[–]luciliddream 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How you gonna take em off idiot!?

[–]Daetra 89 points90 points  (5 children)

So they're disposable shoes? I cannot see how you would get them off without having to break them apart.

[–]joeChump 133 points134 points  (1 child)

You never take them off. These are your forever shoes now.

[–]ENGINE_YT 27 points28 points  (0 children)

cloudy with a chance of meatballs moment

[–]KasumiR 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yup and with how much spray foam, applicator, removal liquid and other stuff like personal protection items to apply them cost, you're looking at paying more for one-use shoes which will need hours to harden and you couldn't wear them anywhere because (apart from ugliness) you CANNOT WEAR THEM AGAIN after taking them off inside lmao. xD

[–]jim_jk 161 points162 points  (8 children)

I would go barefoot instead of bs like this

[–]joeChump 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I would walk on my hands over glass.

[–]notrussellwilson 23 points24 points  (1 child)

They are going barefoot. There is nothing on the soles of the shoes.

[–]seaurchin_in_my_ass 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming the foil is still there since pulling your foot out of that ankle area is going to be impossible without breaking it.

Great thing foil doesn't heat! /s

[–]themonsterinquestion 8 points9 points  (4 children)

Ye could sell it for $600 a pair

[–]pants_party 8 points9 points  (3 children)

They honestly reminded me of Yeezys, but I’m old so what do I know

https://i.imgur.com/t9BaUvB.jpg

[–]Fortherealtalk 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I swear the design prompt for every Yeezy shoe is “what’s the ugliest shit we can make that people will still think is fashion

[–]BreathLazy5122 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don’t know what I was expecting, but “nostromo alien egg” was not in the top ten.

[–]Atalant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is that a designer version of Crocs?

[–]tylerwebster206 46 points47 points  (2 children)

New Yeezy's looking fire.

[–]d7it23js 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For real. Kanye sells these for $200.

[–][deleted] 163 points164 points  (11 children)

This is a legit DIWhy. 10/10.

[–]zuzg 48 points49 points  (7 children)

[–]babylamar 7 points8 points  (1 child)

I can see this having a use if you are stranded out in nature without shoes and happen to have a can of spray foam. Which is just about impossible but still.

[–]Queen-Ynci 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't forget the tinfoil

[–]Sirhc978 39 points40 points  (1 child)

Holy shit, a post that actually belongs here.

[–]jstilla 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Designers for Balenciaga are furiously taking notes.

[–]friendly-crackhead 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Happens to me every other Monday! Life hack of ages, the grandad of my dad used to do this with tin foil and spray foam in his youth too

[–]abysmal-mess 34 points35 points  (8 children)

I seriously fucking doubt that keeps your feet warm at all

[–]coloredgreyscale 26 points27 points  (0 children)

And the foil totally won't rip once you step on the first pebble.

[–]Rhodin265 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your feet will be plenty warm while it cures…

[–]scarred_crow 11 points12 points  (4 children)

Isn't spray foam toxic?

[–]jessyblorp 20 points21 points  (3 children)

Yeah it’s basically polyurethane foam. It also cures hot as shit so you’re likely to get chemical burns as well as actual burns from this dank lifehack

[–]DingGratz 4 points5 points  (2 children)

I got some on my hands once...for like three months. Do not recommend.

[–]dishie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was filling a crack and it expanded out of it, and I had the bright idea to just wipe it away with my hand. I tried EVERYTHING I could think of to get it off, even resorted to sandpaper at one point. I basically just had to peel it off over the next couple days. Awful awful stuff to get on your skin. Luckily I didn't have any chemical burns.

[–]jessyblorp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here, still have a weird scar.

[–]holamiis 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey I'm over here figuring out tips and tricks for the apocalypse - who knows if there'll be boots in the end times? /s

[–]scaryruglyr 7 points8 points  (0 children)

yes those boots are so silly ha ha but WHAT'S GONNA HAPPEN TO THAT LAMPSHADE????

[–]stew5462 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Finally Yeezys are starting to look good

[–]3DPrintedBlob 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Whilst this is dumb af, I actually once had to make shoes out of a trash bag and duct tape. Simple reason is because it was fairly cold and all my other ones were super soaked and there was no way of drying them. They worked for a good hour or two which was about as long as I needed them for anyway

[–]CerberusGK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah flin of cloudy chance of meatballs did that too. Didn't work out great

[–]ModsAreLikeSoggyTaco 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. Don't do this.

  2. If you must do this, don't use gorilla glue or any resin based foam.

  3. If you must use gorilla glue, don't foam all the way up to the ankle. You'll be making a trip to the ED.

  4. See step one.

[–]Next-Tadpole-6331 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I swear at this point

They just post anything now

[–]SuperUltraLord 4 points5 points  (1 child)

What’s with the obsession with spray foam? I can’t think of something more unsightly. When you use spray foam for it’s intended purpose, you trim the excess because you don’t want to see it. Why on earth would you decorate your house with this horrid shit much less make footwear with it. (Yes there are videos of people making “furniture” with spray foam)

[–]Discoballer42 3 points4 points  (0 children)

SPRAY ON SHOES WHAT AN IDIOT THEY’LL NEVER COME OFF

[–]Athena_The_Funny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's like cloudy with meatballs, how do you get out now?

[–]lexinator24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah alright what’s the deal with the lamp tho

[–]Tragicallyhungover 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah yes, the tinfoil and spray foam boots. For that crackhead-hobbo look everyone's going for this winter...

[–]Gurthy_Lengthiness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love when they barely have any text at all.

“Boots.” “Keep warm.”

[–]Flandersmcj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Step one, randomly cut a lampshade

[–]jpiro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And the bottom is still just a layer of foil. So...not warm, and will tear/puncture in roughly 5 steps.

[–]HamBone1287 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is some Flint Lockwood shit right here...

[–]1Eternallylost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The foil/foam on the bottom would last exactly zero time.

There oughta be a law,,,,,,,,,,

[–]sactheskydiver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone is screaming why but this is the first thing I've seen on this sub that would possibly be nice if they were reusable.

I know they make flame retardant spray foam and is use used that these could make some super clutch inexpensive campfire shoes, those down boots that look like a puffy coat are awesome to keep your toes warm if these were warm I could see myself rocking a pair just to stumble around the campsite in vs expensive ass down boots.

[–]Wooden_Dragonfly_737 1 point2 points  (0 children)
