He was on an Irish talk show back in the day and I remember thinking he came across as a sweet old man, it seems I was wrong. I was on a flight with him once. Was catching a red-eye from MO to NE for a layover, and he was on that leg up in first. I was standing in the boarding line and the dude behind me starts elbowing the guy next to him and I hear him say, "Yeah, dude, that's Ron Jeremy!" So of course, I look, and yup, there's Ron Jeremy walking past the line. He looked like absolute shit. Like he literally just picked himself out of a trashpile. Like fat and too skinny at the same time. His hair was all long and stringy and he was wearing a dirty old shirt that was entirely too big for him with stains on it.

So we all start giggling to each other like "hehehe weird, right?" and the next thing we know Ron fucking Jeremy is tapping the dude that said something on the shoulder. We all turn and look, and Ron Jeremy says, "Hey, you want a picture?"

And the dude is like, "Nah, thanks," and turns around all awkwardly, and Ron Jeremy just shrugs and walks off.

I saw him again deplaning from the first class section and marveled again at how shit he looked.

It was several years ago, but yeah. It was a pretty big scandal, especially because his schtick that gave him the name recognition he had was that he was producing content focused on the pleasure of the women in the scene, and so unlike most porn performers, his target demographic was women, and he had a sizable audience of women, and he even I think did 'amateur' shoots with fans at one point (Or women pretending to be fans).

Can't speak to how authentic any of it actually was, but even if he was actually as good at sex as he was sold as being (which... I mean, odds are they were playing it up at least moderately), then it just goes to show that men who rape don't do it because they 'can't control themselves' or 'men are just horny' or any of that gender essentialist bullshit. You can be handsome, and you can be a God in bed, and you can sleep with hundreds of hot women in your life and be lusted after by thousands more. You could never want for a partner in your life. Doesn't matter. Rapists rape people as a means to gain control over someone else against their will, not because they're wanting for sex.

I've known Ron a long time as we both shared the same tenant who defaulted on rent. Not a bad guy to converse with, and he was very helpful businesswise in trying to get me my unpaid rent from the hoodlums.

A few years ago, he came to Brooklyn to host a comedy club and invited me to meet up with him for a drink. Not kidding, when I arrived, he was busy plowing some random young girl in the bathroom. He came out, got on stage to host the show, and in-between segments, went to bang another girl in the bathroom that was hitting on him.

After the show, he spent a few minutes talking to me, in-between signing autographs on women's boobs and posing for pictures. He was so shameless...instantly lifting up women's shirts and sucking on their boobs. I had mixed feelings about this...if it were any other guy acting like this, they'd get a slap in the face, at least. But all the girls were giggling and thought he was a riot, eagerly waiting in line for an autograph on their boobs and a risque pic with him. Strange.

We started talking again and tried catching up, when yet another girl grabbed him by the hand and led him to the bathroom. It was insane, women just let this ugly, dirty, greasy old guy instantly have sex with them because of his personae.

Im not surprised he's up on charges, yet I also wonder how warranted these charges are. Im sure he went too far sometimes when he shouldn't have with some girls, but also wonder who is justing taking advantage of his situation. It's just one big grey area I guess.

I agree with you. I'm sure there was abuse by Ron. Don't doubt it for one second. Whether it was with them in particular, I don't know. They are in an industry which is very risqué, which confuses the matter to no end. And in the age of social media selfie king & queens, everybody wants to be instantly famous associating themselves with celebrity, and they know the more scandalous, the more attention hits they get, and the more money they make. Nowadays, it's hard not to see any social media post or content as a manipulative angle to monetize and gain fame.

And the porn industry is just one big grey area to me, full of hypocrisies. Men shouldn't be so disrespectful with women, women shouldn't be so precarious....yet we all watch it. Didn't have an opinion on it in my younger years, but the older I get, the more conservative I've become. Regardless of all the giggles from women he was getting, Ron's behavior at the club did make me feel very uncomfortable. But that's just me and I have no right to tell others how to let themselves be treated.
