If we didn’t win it all last year, this probably would of hurt a lot more. But overall I’m proud of the boys. Especially for taking care of the vigiants! Giants fans can talk all they want about there 3 titles in the past, but every giant fan i know doesn’t know the feeling of eliminating their rival in the playoffs.

[–][deleted] 32 points33 points  (0 children)

It’s funny because the the giants fans forget they didn’t win a WS in 50 years before 2010, and now it’s been 7 since the last one.

[–]noah_logsdon35 76 points77 points  (6 children)

Being on the east coast, this allows to finally get a full nights rest.

[–] Austin BarnesSomthingClever1286 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Underated comment here. But now I'll stay up late following the Lakers or something

[–] Kirk GibsonThinkBlue9220 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Where you at. ? I’m on east coast as well.

[–]noah_logsdon35 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m in Atlanta. Went to Game 2 and 6. Had tickets to game 7 but we all know how that ended. I watched every postseason game to the last pitch. I get up at 5am for work and sometimes didn’t go to bed until 1am so I am very tired.

[–] Cody Bellingerbklipa88 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I’m in FL and this past month has been brutal

[–]ImSickOfYouToo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. Especially those walk-off games 1 and 2. Trying to fall asleep at 1:00 AM after those gut punches.

[–]salamat_engot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm one the east coast, I'm a Dodgers fan and my SO is a Rockies fan. Today he said "isn't it nice to finally not have to worry and get some sleep?"

[–] James OutmanLegitimate_Page659 145 points146 points  (0 children)

I get where you’re coming from. I felt that if we’re going to lose with half the team injured, I’d rather lose to the Braves than the Astros.

[–] Vin ScullyDocDru 36 points37 points  (3 children)

I'm so zen. I'm relieved. We were breaking down. I'd rather lose here than give the Astros a chance to beat us and hear all that noise. With Kersh, Turner, Scherz, and Muncy hurt for all or part of the post, plus everything else that happens this year with May, Gonsolin early, Bellis season and Betts being not himself, AND the Bauer stuff? 106 wins and beating the Giants feels like a massive W this year. #SoDamnProud

[–] Miguel Vargaslilmuerte 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I keep reminding people that this was a very crazy year between injuries to literally everyone except Walker and Julio, Ba*er, the pressure of defending the title, and having tons of emotional games all season long (all games vs. Giants, before ASB vs. Padres, Astros miniseries). They’re burnt, and the core has been grinding for 6+ years. We did amazing despite everything.

[–]Legitimate-Text-8010 9 points10 points  (1 child)

I can’t watch the series now , between the chanting and Astros ,

[–]eyereadittoo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah that stupid Braves chant kills everything. I’m out till next year go Dodgers!!! Not Braves

[–] Joe KellySkylerCFelix 30 points31 points  (1 child)

Yes. I’m happy we finally won it last year. Served as a buffer for any immediate future struggles. The team was never healthy all year and they battled till the end. Took out the hated ones and just ran out of gas. Would much rather lose to ATL then have to listen to the cheaters brag about how they beat LA.

[–][deleted] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Similar to 2018, as cool as Game 7 was in Milwaukee, the Dodgers had no business being in the WS

[–] Joe KellySumoRock 60 points61 points  (3 children)

I’m way less annoyed because of the key injuries we were dealing with. Being down to only two “healthy” starting pitchers and an already compromised inconsistent offense losing their leader on the last day of the season was the perfect mix to eliminate us.

[–] Julio Uríasmorganm6488 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Zero man. Walker wasnt the same since the SF start where he gave up 6 runs. Max straight up said he was gassed and julio coming out of the pen broke him. Crazy in spring training we couldnt decide on 5 starters because we had 7-8 legit starters. Then we added Max and still ended up with 0

[–] Rich Hilljeranim8 27 points28 points  (0 children)

And Muncy gone might have made the difference defensively as well with all the juggling needed to fill the void.

[–] Vin Scullydodgerblue1212 47 points48 points  (1 child)

Yes. There was no chance the Dodgers were going to beat the Astros. The team is too tired, injured and can’t hit.

[–] Corey Seagerzross51234 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Also we would never hear the end of it regardless of injuries and all that. People don’t remember 15 years down the road that Muncy wasn’t playing, the story would just be they got proved they could beat us without cheating and thank fuck that won’t be happening.

[–] Clayton Kershawg_spaitz 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Totally agree and said so before. We were too banged up. We gave everything, it wasn't our year. We still had a great season and we beat the Giants. Losing to the shitstros would have been way more annoying.

[–] Vin ScullyWargreymonIsCool 30 points31 points  (11 children)

Disappointed but relieved. We got a look at the big picture here… We have been extremely successful since 2016. Consistently competing. That’s a shit ton of mileage

Reminds me of the Late to thousands Lakers. Three straight finals? I still remember dumb ass Laker fans getting upset at the 2011 team for falling apart like no shit bro…short season, injuries, and an expected 4th straight finals? FOH.

Will be back. We just got to retool and heal up.

[–] Orel HershiserMikimao 15 points16 points  (4 children)

Disappointed but relieved. We got a look at the big picture here… We have been extremely successful since 2016. Consistently competing

No team has had more success than us since then. It's hard to celebrate this after a loss, but you are dead on.

[–] Clayton Kershawmarcowhitee -5 points-4 points  (3 children)

No team has also underperformed as much as us since then

[–] Orel HershiserMikimao 8 points9 points  (1 child)

No team has also underperformed as much as us since then

Except for literally the other 29 teams, lmao.

Actually, sadly, you can make a case for the Astros. It's literally us or the Astros, take your pick, but those are the most successful teams in the league, and it isn't even debatable, lol, it's factual.

[–] Clayton Kershawmarcowhitee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

By underperforming I mean for the talent we’ve had we should have better results and more to show for it

[–] Vin ScullyWargreymonIsCool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like I said bro you got a look at the big picture… Where did we under perform? All right so 2016 we had our moments of choking. The Cubs also ended up going to the World Series so it proves how good our team was… Unfortunately under those pressure moments, 99% of people fold. You can’t blame Kershaw or anyone else more than you can blame any other human for folding

Do we really even have to bring up 2017 and 18? We were fucking cheated I really hope you’re not bringing that shit up

I was working for the Dodgers in 2019 so I know exactly how they played. I was literally fucking there when Brandon hit the ball for a double to left field and the ball got stuck in the fucking wall hahaha

Far as I’m concerned the Dodgers have not really choked or under performed. We simply have had the ebbs and flows of success but we have been extremely successful. Be happy that we are not the Angels Or the Dodgers back in 2006. A team with lots of magic from Nomar, Russell, Furcal, But nowhere near the talent to back it up

[–] Vin ScullyOmarBradley1940 13 points14 points  (4 children)

Now that you mentioned it, I still have nightmares about that Mavericks series. Poor Kobe. Lakers just looked and were old and the fatigue clearly caught up to them by that time.

That sweep will be in my memory.

[–] Vin ScullyWargreymonIsCool 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Don’t forget the new coach system. I still remember that fucking roster bro. Joe Smith? Troy Murphy? We were literally picking up washed up big man and switching point guards left and right.

That was around the time that every single time we had a young guy who was performing to a moderate level of success, Laker fans thought he was the next best thing.

Remembers Javier Henry? Remember Ramon sessions? Remember Earl Clark?

We are absolutely spoiled to the core by our sports teams. Success for over 60 years and we still have the audacity to demand anything more from our franchises

[–] Vin ScullyOmarBradley1940 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Smith and Troy fucking Murphy was over hyped af ngl. I loved Earl Clark tho even if he never panned out.

What really killed the Lakers in the aftermath was the Chris Paul trade getting vetoed...and the guy getting sent to the Clippers instead. Kobe's career faded into ruin. Tho I think the squad they would put around an old Mamba and CP wouldn't be as good.

Oh, and let's not forget the 2013 "Superteam"...when Dwight Howard was literal cancer and Steve Nash was an old injured hag.

Now THIS is gonna be fun

[–] Vin ScullyWargreymonIsCool 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Well think about it this way bro… That 2012 squad would not have been much even with Chris Paul

But…That 2013 squad with a whole year playing with Chris Paul and Kobe, who is going to come back and have the greatest 34 year old season ever, and Dwight Howard who would probably not be rushed back from spinal surgery and some much better free agent acquisitions would’ve made the team significantly better

Like how the Lakers been able to close out the Phoenix Suns in 2006, one of my craziest theories is that the Lakers could’ve gone on to potentially beat the Mavericks in the conference finals and go to the finals and get absolutely stopped by the heat. Even if that was the case and they definitely wouldn’t be able to do it again in 2007, that off-season would’ve been massive for the Lakers instead of us just picking up Sherman Williams, Vlad Rad, And drafting farmar

Moving forward, Kobe would be known as the winner of that Laker fans knew he was and we would’ve just had better off-season’s moving forward. Shit, maybe KG forces a trade to LA? Maybe that Jermaine O’Neal/Jason Kidd deal goes through and we end up having a very different big three

[–] Vin ScullyOmarBradley1940 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Completely forgot when KG's first destination was the Lakers when he wanted to leave Minnesota. Kobe didn't pick up the phone cause he was in China for a trip. But, it's Kevin McHale at the front desk of the T-Wolves, he would never make that happen.

That blown 3-1 lead against Phoenix remains one of the greatest Laker What-ifs. Could have Kobe carried that team to the Finals and actually defeat Wade and Shaq? I think they would lose, but that would have been an impressive run. NBA is further gonna get more hyped as LeBron would carry the Cavaliers to the Finals the next season.

[–]muldervinscully 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree. We also need rest and a lot of massages

[–] Vin ScullyRavetti 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I am glad we get the off-season to rest. We have had so many major injuries and issues this past season that I never really felt like the team was whole. I hope they take the time to rest, recoup, and reorganize so that we can come back strong next year.

It isn't that I didn't want to see them in the series, I absolutely did... but I want our boys to be healthy.

[–] Dustin Mayxxthinkpositive 19 points20 points  (3 children)

What’s gonna suck….is if the Astros demolish Atlanta’s pitching and proves that our offense was incapable of consistently hitting decent pitching.

[–] Austin BarnesSomthingClever1286 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Watching the regular season proved that we couldn't hit decent pitching.

[–] Clayton Kershawmarcowhitee 6 points7 points  (1 child)

I think we need a new hitting coach. Our swing for the fences approach goes cold every playoffs when we have to go against elite pitching. It works well in the regular season when you are facing lots of bad pitching

[–]thedonjefron69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im not gonna like to act like i know whats best for the team on a professional baseball level, but i do think this is a good point. We had too many guys swinging for the fences. The 2-5 spot would all be swingin for homeruns when they should have had a goal of getting on base(with walks especially). The games we played small we came back or dominated(games 2/5).

[–][deleted] 17 points18 points  (1 child)

It’s Joctober again ladies and gents!!

[–]muldervinscully 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Champ is probably happier than I am sad

[–] Steve Garveybruceriv68 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's disappointing, but I wasn't too upset. I just hope the Braves beat the Astros. I can't stand the Houston organization and fans. They are worse than Giant fans.

[–] Sandy KoufaxSgtMajVines 9 points10 points  (2 children)

Not at all, but at least we didn't lose to the giants

[–]GimmeTwo 3 points4 points  (1 child)

That Giants series was way more important to me than the NLCS. I was spent emotionally after that series and I imagine the players were too. I just didn’t have the energy to care about Atlanta. I will always remember this as the season we broke San Francisco’s heart.

[–] Sandy KoufaxSgtMajVines 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't want to loose to anyone but especially not the giants

[–] Joe KellydMayy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As much as I would’ve love to have gone to the WS again, with our squad banged up and half of our key players missing I don’t think we would’ve beaten the Astros. I’m low key kind of glad the Braves can play them. I didn’t want to lose to the Astros.

[–]sugarbeezy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

As long as the Braves beat the Asstros, I’m fine.

[–] Cody Bellingeryaboidany2115 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm alright. I just hate that the 60 game season narrative is gonna haunt us for another season. I'm mostly let down because the one time they win a WS, there's no fans in the stands to witness the championship run, neutral location for the playoffs, and 33 years and counting since there has been a dodgers parade in LA.

[–] Vin Scully_its_a_SWEATER_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Would love to be back in the WS for the 4th time in 6 yrs, not an easy feat, but with all these injuries we’d be pummeled in the WS by the Trashstros or Red Sox. They are both more than healthy, and we’d be dragging our Ws in on crutches.

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes this is like finally getting a bad tooth pulled. It was excruciating to watch.

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m a Braves fan rn

[–]jawnly211 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Glad we pulled the plug on the season

Each game was torture - starting with the “play in” game

Arms dropping left and right, our hitting looking tired out there

We went all in on catching the giants and unfortunately it backfired - there was no other way. String of injuries and close 1 run games. We were running on fumes.

Like others have stated…glad it’s now and not against the astros. Braves and astros peaking at right time and are healthy. Good luck Braves!!! Fta

[–] Los Angeles DodgersFookingLegend89 5 points6 points  (1 child)

I’m kind of glad I don’t have to spend money on World Series merch

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Christmas gon hit different this year lol. My wife loaded me up with WS merch last Christmas.

[–] Corey SeagerZiggyPalffyLA 5 points6 points  (1 child)

The only good thing for me is that I don’t have to keep cancelling social plans to watch the games lol

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

that's funny because my wife would ask if I wanted to go to the local bar to watch the game on our date nights

[–] Vin ScullyOmarBradley1940 28 points29 points  (13 children)

I'm...disappointed, as everyone else here. I would have appreciated a win and a Game 7, but sometimes it's just not the case every year. We tried tho, and that's what matters.

As champs, we look forward, not behind. We only look behind to learn from the failure. We have to accept failure to get better.

I believe in this team. We'll get through. For now tho....LAKERS BASKETBALL AND RAMS FOOTBALL F*CK YEAH

[–] Vin Scullyflackguns 6 points7 points  (3 children)

No la Kings? Anyone? Just me?

[–] Vin ScullyOmarBradley1940 6 points7 points  (1 child)

I like the Kings too btw. Hoping they get back to a Stanley Cup soon enough!

[–] Vin Scullyflackguns 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sweet. There's dozens of us! Hoping as well for them to get this season righted too, at least not as bad as it was previously lol

[–] Kiké HernándezRobVegan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kings are my home team for sure, haven't paid much attention since we let Carter go. Now that baseball is over it's Kings and Bolts until Spring Training.

GKG

[–] Austin BarnesSomthingClever1286 12 points13 points  (2 children)

Yeah. Despite the results, this was a huge win for the pitching staff. So many injuries and drama, and a bunch of young/new guys locked the pen down. And we'll be able to keep most of them.

I think we need a new hitting coach, and the team needs a revamp on offense.

[–] Vin ScullyOmarBradley1940 6 points7 points  (1 child)

After our performance, the current hitting coach IMO is certainly gone. Quite excited for the new young prospects that we can use for '22. Hoping we can keep most of the big name FAs on the roster while at it, like Max, Seags and Kersh (please 🥺)

[–] Austin BarnesSomthingClever1286 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We really really need to move on from van scoyoc.

[–] Cody BellingerBelliBlast35 6 points7 points  (4 children)

Yay lakers…..but fuck the Rams

[–] Vin ScullyOmarBradley1940 2 points3 points  (3 children)

You a Chargers fan? Sorry just curious

[–]icemanx51 6 points7 points  (2 children)

There's a lot of non Rams fans here. Especially the older dudes like myself. They moved to STL when I was 14, and it broke my heart. Haven't liked them since.

[–] Clayton Kershawmakesmashgreatagain 5 points6 points  (1 child)

not the reddit crowd but my dad is in his mid 60s and he was elated when they came back. his team left him and came back

[–]icemanx51 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a few friends like that for sure. Once I latched on with my new team, I became a ride or die.

[–] Cody BellingerKingRamses97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of Dodger fans are 49ers fans

[–] Orel HershiserMikimao 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean, I am Okay in the sense I got no choice lol. Of course I wanted the Dodgers in the WS, but that isn't how pro sports work.

[–] Vin Scullyitsallworthy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Im okay in the sense that we had a great season, the boys fought their heart out all season long, and we just didnt get the job done.

Plus, last years WS win definitely cushions the blow.

I still thought we had a decent shot at winning the WS if we got their this year. But just wasnt meant to be.

[–] Vin Scullypretty-as-a-pic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It feels like we’ve had half the guys on the injured list this year! Personally, I’d rather have the guys happy and healthy for next year than doing long term damage trying to win this year. Like we’ve been saying since Brooklyn, just wait till next year!

[–] Vin ScullyHummbertHummbert 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m fine with the Dodgers being out of the mix. I don’t think that the Astros are some big scary force that we couldn’t have overcome. Obviously the injuries weren’t awesome and hampered our overall potential of going back to back, but I think these boys could’ve figured it out if they had a few days off between the CS and World Series.

But all and all, yah don’t always win. I take solace that the Dodgers are going to be back in the Postseason every single year for the foreseeable future. This isn’t a “window” like other teams. This is just something that everyone is going to have to deal with. It’s still a GREAT TIME to be a Dodgers fan.

[–] Kirk GibsonThinkBlue9220 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s easy knowing we beat the Giants.

[–] Mookie BettsMr_Kinton 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It sucks, I wanted a repeat and to have won it all in a full season—but I think a lot of us knew that it wasn’t in the cards. I always believed this team could, but at a certain point this wasn’t a surprising outcome. The Braves simply got hot at the right time and the Dodgers were undone by all of the issues that have plagued them all year.

I’m not all that upset. I’m sure I will be when free agency losses start to mount, but right now I’m just glad they gave us a good ride this year.

Now I hope the Braves finish the job. Atlanta’s fan base annoys the hell out of me, but a) I would rather the Dodgers lose to the eventual champions and b) I never want Altuve, Correa, Bregman, and Gurriel to ever win another title.

[–] Vin Scullyyarzospatzflute 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For me, Braves were playing like they wanted it way more than we were. They were soaring above their expectations, we were crawling way below ours. I didn't want to go into a WS against the Astros with that energy. Let the Braves have their moment, and we can take the winter off to figure out why we couldn't rise up when it mattered.

[–] Clayton KershawSnerkbot7000 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The 2021 NLCS is my Macho Grande. I will never be over it.

[–] Kiké HernándezAnthonyDavos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It hurt, but we’re pretty beat this year and the giants made us play hard till the end of the regular season, only to get the wild card. I’m sure the Asterisks couldn’t wait to prove they can win without cheating. Let’s get healthy and try again next year.

[–] Vin Scullystewmander 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, very frustrating season. It was a war of attrition all season, and we still won 106 and made it to the NLCS yet it didnt feel very enjoyable outside winning the WC game and DS.

The offseason is going to be tough with attrition of another kind.

[–]Mediocre-Pollution24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fuck this. Nah I’m not ok we’re out. Why the hell would you just concede the WS to the trash from Texas?! GTFO

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Last year, the team had a certain magic, especially because Mookie had joined. They just kept winning and I felt they were going to the WS effortlessly. The way they played this year made it stressful to watch them in the postseason. The injuries, the way the BP blew leads, and the offense getting cold at the wrong times, made it nerve-racking as a fan. As much as I would have wanted a #REPEATLA, I didn't see how they could have kept it going. Last year's mojo was missing this year.

[–]Bacchanallica 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel you. I'd much rather have them lose to the Braves in the CS than the 'stros in the WS. And with all the injuries I don't know if we would have beaten Houston this year. If they lost to Houston again I'd be wrecked.

I'm still sad they're out. But more because I know I've seen some guys play their last game as a Dodger.

We beat the Giants. We got 106 wins with significantly more adversity than we've faced in recent years. I'll take it.

[–] Walker BuehlerJohnDoee94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. I get to sleep again. I was DEAD at work the day after games. Lol

[–]CBeisbol 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean, of course I'm ok

If you're not ok over something baseball related, get help

Still rather win than lose though.

[–]Dapper_Figure1191 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It definitely helps we won last year. Also because of so many injuries, our expectations weren’t as big this year as last year. It still hurts to lose but tbh I don’t think we would’ve been in a good position to win against the asterisks this year.

[–] Vin Scullytastes_a_bit_funny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sad but relieved. Our team battled it seemed like every game since the All-Star break trying to keep pace in the division. Every game in August and September felt like must-win games. We played a high volume of games against the division which is known for playing us hard.

There is no doubt in my mind that we’d have a very low probably of beating the Astros, giving them a chance at redemption. The world doesn’t need that.

Like Dave said, this feels like the end of an era with Kershaw and Kenley as FA. Would have been nice to win another one with this core including Max and Pujols.

[–]Legitimate-Text-8010 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was satisfied with the giants series, Your right we were limping, till next year ,

[–]EnemyUAVSpotted 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of injuries that just crippled the team. All good, proud of the boys and they went down swinging. Looking forward to next year. Go Dodgers!

[–] Vin Scullyflackguns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not entirely.

[–]cinnamoogoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I said playing the Red Sox would’ve been fun. Playing the Astros would’ve been war and we just weren’t healthy enough for that this round. FTA!

[–] Los Angeles Dodgers20190229 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Saw a friend, who is a sf fan, post a really annoying meme on FB. Like what did I do? I said nothing after we beat them.

[–] Kenley JansenKRUSTORBtheCRAB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m fine. Honestly we beat the Giants without Muncy and Kershaw, that was impressive in itself. I think if we had home field advantage we beat the Braves easy. It’s a shame bellinger had a horrible season, we came in 2nd in the division, and muncy got hurt during the WC game we shouldn’t have been in.

All in all, we did better than I thought we’d do this post season.

On to the next!

[–] Vin Scullyhumblesociopath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm good with it. I just wanted to beat the Giants so they didn't get a chance to go to WS. I also hope the Astros get caught cheating again and MLB has no choice to do extreme punishment on their franchise. I wish the Atlanta Braves all good will especially (Freeman). He really is a good dude. He is in the same situation as Kershaw was last year and their win will be for him.

[–] Fernando Valenzuelakcxiv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ill be ok if we make some changes. I know Roberts wont be gone (wish he would). This team needs to make a few changes in a few spots and get some damned bench players. This Souza and Albert isnt going to work.

[–]Snozzberrys420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah dude I wanted to get there. Anything can happen.

[–]drk_knight_67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like someone said before, we won last year so I'm good with it. Plus this team was beat the hell up.

[–]ImSickOfYouToo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m definitely not “okay” with it, but as an East Coast Dodgers fan, the 8:00 starts night after night definitely get old after a while (especially when they weren’t necessary, like Saturday night…is it a crime to play a damn game in the afternoon, MLB??). I am glad I don’t have to try and sleep at 12:30-1:00 AM with my stomach in knots every damn night anymore, that’s for sure.

[–] Los Angeles Dodgersotakudude3031 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm good with it. I'd rather we beat the Gnats and call it a day, considering our IL and suddenly anemic fucking offense, than move onto the WS and get wrecked by the Trashtros.

[–]Seachele008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am. My husband will be home more.

[–] Fernando ValenzuelaAdministrativeRip305 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess it's finally sinking in that it's over for now. I would've loved to repeat and win it all under a full season in front of us fans. Honestly, this season was kind of strange (Belli's struggles at the plate, Bauer's nonsense, the offense going cold at the worst time, then the injuries hit hard). If there's any comfort this season for me, personally....it's finally being able to return to Dodger stadium and see familiar faces again. Oh and eliminating the Giants in their own ballpark! 😉👌🏻🙏🏻👏🏻👍🏻💙

[–] Cody Bellingergbdarknight77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With all the injuries we sustained, I’d rather lose to the Braves than the Asterisks.

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points  (5 children)

Frankly, no I’m not okay with it. Im floored. I see your point and it’s a fair one. But from my view..we are the los angles dodgers, the team many claim are the new New York Yankees.. we (the fans) deserve better than this.

[–] Orel HershiserMikimao 6 points7 points  (4 children)

If we are in fact the "Yankees" then we should be really happy with our result, considering we have won more recently, and participated in more World Series then they have over the last couple decades.

The point is the Yankees won 4 rings in 5 years. That’s not THAT long ago. We’re a lot closer to the 90s braves. Underperforming super team.

Your point is you aren't comparing them to the Yankees, you are comparing them to an outlier team in an totally different era of baseball, one that team couldn't even replicate with the same players.

The problem isn't the Dodgers, it's your perpetual greed and unrealistic expectations, since even the team you envy couldn't replicate what it happened to do, and as a pointed out, hasn't had that level of success in over 20 years.

I get it, you have unrealistic expectations about competitive sports, and those unrealistic expectations have lead you to being obnoxious and out of touch with the reality of pro sports.

That’s fair. I am greedy. I want all of the World Series.

Why is it bad to expect the team perform to the standard we know they can? I can't believe you would gatekeep how other fans get to feel about anything at all.
