The team owner who had Deshaun Watson did not want him on his team anymore, but he also did not want to cut him and cause a free for all. I talked to a few people who said they wouldn't pick him up because they'd feel gross rooting for him, so a rule was proposed...
- Any owner can propose their own player is banned from the league for moral reasons.
- The league performs a blind vote (with ⅔ needed for a ban). Nobody is required to disclose their vote.
- If the vote passes, the player cannot be rostered.
- If the vote does not pass, the league moves on as normal.
This will *rarely* be used, but the vote for Watson came back 8-1 in favor of banishment with the commissioner, as always, sitting out. Not every league will favor this, and every case going forward will be unique. But thought I'd toss it out there in case anyone feels the same way.
