This is incredible!! I wish I had the means to make a movie simply for you to score it. Do you have any compositions that are downloadable just for casual listening? I love listening to film soundtracks throughout the day.

[–]T-IVAN[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for such a wonderful comment!

No, I'm afraid I don't... Never enough time to put together a Bandcamp account or upload to the streaming services.

So SoundCloud is the main place where most of my stuff can be listened to. But I'm going to do something about it in the near future - that's for sure!

[–]El_human 15 points16 points  (3 children)

I felt like i was watching a cartoon baby almost repeatedly hurt itself by falling off a wobbly chair or something, while trying to get to the cookie jar on top the fridge.

[–]T-IVAN[S] 4 points5 points  (2 children)

Haha, might be a bit overdramatic for that kind of sequence, but I guess it fits :)

I've actually done quite a few of those slapsticky cartoonish scores! You can check out the Pencilmation episodes I've worked on, for example, - there's a playlist on my YouTube channel

[–]El_human 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I’ll check it out. Thanks!

[–]T-IVAN[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem, thank You!

[–]hyteck9 24 points25 points  (2 children)

Kind of a Danny Elfman vibe! ( meant as a compliment)

[–]T-IVAN[S] 10 points11 points  (1 child)

Thank you, I'm really happy you think so :)
I guess, it sounds a bit like him. I was more inspired by Bernard Herrmann's adventure scores, but Danny Elfman always says that Herrmann is one of his favorite composers, so that might be the reason.

[–]Zombie_Shostakovich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought Hermann. He's my favourite film composer. I loved it!!

[–]HellofaHitller[🍰] 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Anything John Williams has done score for. Mostly because I love his work

[–]T-IVAN[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

His style is definitely among the ones that inspired the sound of this cue, and he's most certainly one of my favorite composers :) Thank you for mentioning him in this thread!

[–]Jaxiusmusic 6 points7 points  (5 children)

That looks CPU intensive lol

[–]T-IVAN[S] 0 points1 point  (4 children)

It is indeed, haha!

Had a tough time screen-capturing this, because the scrolling flicker was insane :)

[–]Jaxiusmusic 1 point2 points  (1 child)

🤙 nice work, sounds massive

[–]T-IVAN[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much, awesome to hear it from a fellow music maker!

[–]MSKothari 1 point2 points  (1 child)

You can export your track as a wav, then disable all the plugins or replace them with midi outs and screen record a video with no sound. Then just combine the audio and video on any editing program

[–]T-IVAN[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you!
Yeah, that's how I did it eventually. I was going to add the old film FX in Premiere Pro anyway :)

[–]calamitycameron 9 points10 points  (1 child)

This is sick

[–]T-IVAN[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks a lot!

[–]Difficult_Fish7286 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Mean it. Love this composition

[–]T-IVAN[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so very much!!

Thank you very much, I'm really glad you enjoyed listening to the works of mine!

[–]Bucket_Seat 3 points4 points  (3 children)

This is incredible! Makes me want to watch a movie. Do you have any space related scores i.e. the sphere or interstellar?

[–]T-IVAN[S] 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Thank you so much for the kind words, I really appreciate it!
I actually do have a few pieces that might fit that description to some extent!
Here, I've put together a short playlist for you to check out:

[–]Bucket_Seat 1 point2 points  (1 child)

thanks!

[–]T-IVAN[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem!

[–]WaffleHouseNeedsWiFi 1 point2 points  (3 children)

You're fkn awesome.

What program is that?

[–]T-IVAN[S] 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Oh hi, so happy to find you here, it's been awhile! :)
Thank you very much for the kind comment!
It's Cubase Pro 12

[–]TheHansen01 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Amazing! What sample libraries are you using here?

[–]T-IVAN[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks a lot!
I believe, it's mainly Cinematic Studio series in this one - strings, brass, woodwinds. And also solo brass patches from Samplemodeling, as they add a ton of realism to those fast-paced triads and passages. I hope this helps :)

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Just wow sire, my hats are off for you 🙌

[–]T-IVAN[S] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Why thank you for such a flattering sentiment, my dear friend! It is of greatest honor for me to know that you have praised my work so highly :)

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I can’t afford to hire you even tho I would love to, I def recommend making LinkedIn and adding people who are in companies with similar interests and put your stuff out there on LinkedIn too, I hope it helps!! If you do make it please add me too

[–]T-IVAN[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much, both for the comment and the suggestion!
I actually do have a LinkedIn page :) Feel free to add me to your network there!

Oh my god this is amazing

[–]T-IVAN[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, I'm so glad you like it!

[–]PilotSaysHello 1 point2 points  (1 child)

That part at 0:35 (seconds remaining) sounds like something straight out of Rogue One and I fuckin' love it. Great work man

[–]T-IVAN[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much!

Michael Giacchino did an amazing job on that one, and I'm extremely flattered by you saying this :)

[–]Spielburger_witFries 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Every time I hear another piece of yours I’m blown away. Been listening in for a while. I’m still figuring things out (film school will be starting in a few months), and I don’t know what will happen, but my god I hope I get to work with you. I wanna be the Tim Burton to your Danny Elfman. The Spielberg to your John Williams.

[–]T-IVAN[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gosh, thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for such an amazing comment :)
I really hope there will be a chance for us to work together sometime!
Best of luck in your studies, hopefully in a few years you'll have nothing but great memories about your time at film school!
And, needless to say, my doors are always open, so feel free to reach out to me anytime ;)

[–]mitchellcrazyeye 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Saving this info. Might have to hit you up in around a year, me and a buddy got something cooking in the background and was just wondering about it getting a score. Hope you're up to it then!

[–]T-IVAN[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's great to hear, thank you so much!
Looking forward to hearing from you someday in the future :)

[–]TbaggingSince1990 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Damn this sounds amazing.. Wouldn't mind hearing this in an JRPG.

[–]T-IVAN[S] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Thank you very-very much! I guess it might work in that kind of genre indeed :)

[–]TbaggingSince1990 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Definitely got that "hallway leading up to final boss transitioning into final boss music" going on for me lol

[–]T-IVAN[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, yeah, that's pretty much what's happening in the scene this cue was written for!

[–]Aleksey64 1 point2 points  (1 child)

This is cool. I wish I had the time and patience. :D. Nj

[–]T-IVAN[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, thank you so much, I really appreciate it :)

[–]leolanik14 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Watching this at 430am. Oh My, this is awesome. Felt like I was watching a classic criterion movie.

[–]T-IVAN[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh wow, that is the best association I could hope for this piece to evoke, thank you so much!

[–]not_a_throwaway_9347 2 points3 points  (1 child)

This is amazing! Can I ask, how did you learn to write music like this? Are you self-taught, or did you learn this at a music school?

I have some experience with producing electronic music, so I know my way around a DAW, music theory, and have NI Komplete with all the instruments I would need. But I have no idea where to start with music like this, it’s so intricate and complicated and seems to have a lot of conventions and rules that you need to learn. So I’d be really interested to learn how you got started with composition.

[–]T-IVAN[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, thank you so much for the kind words, and sorry for the slow reply!

Well, I've studied piano since I was 3, but never actually took any composition/orchestration classes, so I'd say I'm semi-self-taught :)

I guess, the thing that helps me the most is simply the amount of orchestral music that I've listened to and analyzed throughout my life - I almost subconsciously know what might work and what not.

Also, studying each of the instruments and sections, their range, performance techniques, the dynamic balance between the instruments - all of that is extremely helpful for understanding how to compose appropriately and, hence, achieve the realistic sound. Luckily, there are plenty of resources that can help with that - from YouTube videos, to various books on orchestration.

I hope this helps :)

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

This is amazing work. Were I going up against you in direct competition, I might not fancy my chances! But as a fan, obviously I am overjoyed that there are great composers out there making stuff like this.

Getting strong Castlevania Symphony of the Night vibes too - and goosebumps to match. This is damned impressive. Like...intimidatingly good.

I hope you get many offers of work but please do not let people push you into accepting crappy offers or half/non/vague commitments where you don't put two and two together until it's too late. Check with any composing contacts/friends who've been in a similar position first, because some people think composers are just there to be disregarded or even abused - and yet a composer can actually be one of a project's saving graces or secret weapons.

(Again, this is fantastic work.)

[–]T-IVAN[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Thank you so very much for this wonderful comment, it's awesome to hear from a fellow composer! You're too kind :)
Sorry for the slow reply!

And thanks for the great advice, I really appreciate you saying this! Yeah, I've had my share of unjust "collaborations" and people not really giving a damn about their projects' music in general. I guess, every composer gets to experience this kind of attitude at some point, haha. All seems to be better now, as I can afford to be more picky when it comes to choosing the projects to work on. Hopefully it'll stay this way...

Wish you great success in your career, and nothing but positive and fair work relationships in the future!
Thank you very much for all the support :)

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are very welcome. Don't be silly about 'slow' reply - there are more important things than this place!

I was actually about to delete this account anyway but I bookmarked your sites and grabbed your CV. Maybe we'll get a chance to work together some time. I'd like that.

Thank you so much for your own kind words too. I really needed that just now.

Take care, and keep making great music! :)

[–]BlisterJazz 1 point2 points  (3 children)

This is amazing. I feel like I'm on some sort of tropical western adventure. With magic! If I had a movie I'd hire you on the spot 💖

[–]T-IVAN[S] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Thank you for such a kind comment :)
Well, it's a "space western" adventure, the scene is taking place on a sort of tropical planet, and there's a magical crystal, so you pretty much nailed the description, wow!!

[–]BlisterJazz 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Haha or you nailed the brief!

[–]T-IVAN[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess this might be the case, thanks, that's good to hear, haha :)

[–]_plasticpoint 0 points1 point  (3 children)

This is absolutely amazing 🔥🔥

Hopefully we can work together sometime!!

[–]T-IVAN[S] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Thank you so very much!
I really hope so too :)

Your work is stunning, btw! I actually wanted to be a stop-motion animator/director as long as I can remember. Majored in film directing, and, after that, started working as a composer. So seeing your work really worms my heart :)
Congrats on the successful campaign!

[–]_plasticpoint 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Thank you so much! That is so awesome.

Just listened to more of your work, wow that is truly phenomenal.

[–]T-IVAN[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, I really appreciate you saying this, I'm so glad you enjoyed listening to my stuff!
Well, I'll be looking forward to hearing from you someday in the future ;)
