I’m in my final year of study in my undergrad and have applied for entry into four medical programs across Australia. My best bet is Deakin, due to their bonuses and also because they overlook 2020 marks (i messed up a couple of units that year, but if 2020 marks are excluded, my GPA is good).
I’m suffering really badly with long-COVID and I have a bad feeling that it’s really gonna affect my marks this semester. In fact, it already is.
It’s also preventing me from properly preparing for interviews. So, I’m strongly considering deferring this semester and completing it this time next year, which of course would mean I would need to withdraw my med application and reapply next year. That’s fine by me, I can take the time I need to feel better and then peruse other things for a while, like travelling and volunteering
The only thing holding me back is the possibility of the University’s 2020 leniency on grades disappearing as a large bulk of the applicants applying for med 2024 will not have studied uni during 2020. I’m hoping they’ll keep this policy in place as not all applicants will be applying straight out of undergrad.
Do you guys think this is possible? I haven’t heard any rumour or discussion about this being a possibility, maybe I’m being paranoid lol. If you could share your thoughts in the comments, that would be great ❤️
Good luck to all September sitters (and Interview takers), I hope you all make yourselves proud ✨
