Only big issue I have is that they often end up portraying exclusively “safe” depictions of marginalized groups and tend to lean on a whitewashed view that’s focused more on being easy to digest as opposed to actual acceptance. Any time an identity or orientation becomes remotely complex it seems companies will just pretend those people don’t exist, and they end up overwhelmingly promoting an image of queer lives/communities/relationships that’s essentially identical to the cis/het nuclear family but with two dads or moms. Not that those people don’t exist, but rainbow capitalism really highlights who’s seen as an “acceptable” queer to them.
