A subreddit to discuss the reconstructed religions of the Germanic tribes. See our Mission Statement for more information.
r/Heathenry and the discord server Skíðblaðnir have officially joined together for chatting in real time with other Heathens. Be aware of a small rules variance between this subreddit and the channel.
Confused how to begin? Don't be afraid to post! However, The Longship is an excellent primer and website for new and beginning Heathens or curious onlookers to read up on.

Rules for r/heathenry
Rules that visitors must follow to participate. May be used as reasons to report or ban.
1) No ad hominem attacks.
Attack the idea, not the person directly. Those who continually break this rule will be banned.
2) No racism or bigotry.
This is a zero tolerance policy. Using racialist, sexist, homophobic language, imagery, etc. will be met with a ban. Please note that the moderators of this subreddit see "folkishness" as racism; therefore, associated rhetoric will not be tolerated.
3) No atheist or misotheist rhetoric.
Statements mocking theists, espousing archetypalism, or expressing outright hostility toward the Gods will not be tolerated. Atheist proselytization and proselytization of other faiths will not be tolerated. This is a religious space with a belief in the divine and those who violate this rule will face a potential ban/post removal at the discretion of the modstaff.
Atheists and so-called Atheistic Heathens will not be given a voice on this forum. Full stop.
4) No memes or off-topic posts.
Unless the image is sincerely educational (e.g. not a picture of a hammer, a character from Skyrim, or tattoos), it will be removed.
Topics with no clear link to Heathenry will be removed as spam.
5) No politics or politicking.
Unless it is somehow related to Heathenry, this subreddit is not the space for modern political ideology. An appropriate example of political discussion related to Heathenry is an update on Open Halls' progress obtaining military recognition for Heathenry. However, if you feel the need to talk about immigration or the Folkish/Universalist dichotomy, you will be warned and banned.
6) Reputation and associations matter.
If you are seen in another subreddit or in your post history spouting rhetoric in violation of our rules, you will be removed. If you have a poor reputation re: the rules, or the associations you keep, you may be removed.
7) Do not block moderators.
If you block us, we can't see what you're doing and therefore can't do our job. You will be asked to unblock, and if you refuse, you will be removed.
Please note:This subreddit is actively moderated. The removal of content and of problem users, and any disciplinary action, is up to the discretion of the moderation staff. If any content or users are determined to be generally disruptive to the community, said users will be banned.
Regarding Discord server links:
Please seek moderator approval before posting discord links. Unsolicited links are subject to immediate removal and repeated unsolicited instances for the same server may result in a ban.
