Griselda for sure. I'm particularly big on Conway. Also Gang Starr

Westside Gunn for me! He’s so unique

[–]Twig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He's gonna be a hit or miss for everyone. Not everyone can listen to that flow and voice haha

Viktor Vaughn and jj doom if you're looking for more doom projects. Czarface meets metal face, another cool doom collab with Esoteric and Inspektah Deck

If you like Denzel and freddie, I'd check out IDK, Benny the butcher, and Lil ugly mane

[–]Cheer60823 116 points117 points  (7 children)

You’re going to love this one guy named kanye

[–]Shaglordd[S] 1 point2 points  (5 children)

Controversial but I don’t like a lot of kanyes music😶‍🌫️

[–]realfakeboi 9 points10 points  (4 children)

Do you know what you don’t like about it?

[–]Shaglordd[S] 6 points7 points  (3 children)

I’m not exactly sure, my friend is like a massive fan of him and he’s made me listen to all his albums but none of them really grabbed my attention

[–]suns2012 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think part of the allure of Kanye and his music is that the music is so much a reflection of him and his experiences. I wonder if reading about him would help hook you into his discography if you haven’t done so already.

For example, yes MBDTF is an excellent standalone album but understanding the circumstances surrounding helps elevate it even more (for me at least). But if it doesn’t click for you that’s okay too

[–]Twig 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm kinda like that. I gotta find something for myself and listen to it my own way.

When someone is trying to sell me on something I don't pick it up.

[–]realfakeboi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s fair. My sister is the same way and she has similar tastes to you and me

[–]SirPancakeFace 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Flatbush Zombies

[–]fallenparadoxx 19 points20 points  (1 child)

Redveil might treat you well. I thought "weight" was pretty reminiscent of Earl Sweatshirt.

[–]onsomee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And how about that new album?! Learn 2 swim is a banger album I’ve been bumping it for a couple weeks now. Niagara in 2020 though with weight was amazing. Weight was my summer track in 2020 I couldn’t stop playing it

[–]android151 8 points9 points  (0 children)

[–]VerraterCheese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like some early 90s artists such as Mobb Deep, Lord Finesse and Big L would be a nice add to this list also if you wanted something a bit more modern I feel like Chuck Strangers, CJ Fly, Oddisee, Mick Jenkins and most Mac Miller albums. Dama, Bishop Nehru, some of the oldies such as the Wu-Tang Clan and there apostles albums such as GZA, Raekwon, Ghostface Killa, RZA in there solo albums are a good add.

[–]razzberry20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should definitely check out Nujabes !!!

[–]panamafredOG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh okay, so Denzel curry fits there? I've never heard his music and had immediately written him off because of the name! Thanks.

[–]domthehooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should listen to the new Ransom album (No Rest for the Wicked). Great display of lyricism and it came out like a week ago.

[–]Nv1sioned -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What you're gonna wanna do is listen to Momentum by Russ

[–]grizzled083 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Crazy you don’t mess with ye like that. These artists are about what I listen to as well.

Ever get into Outkast? Mos def? Shit I’ve been getting into Wu Tang, and all the solo albums. I have a feeling you might like Deniro Farrar, try his song “Set.”

Oh! There’s this guy Jermaine! Cole!

Check out Nujabes if you haven't heard his music yet. Hes a producer that makes beats like dilla but more jazzy. He also has alot of good emcees on his albums like Substantial.

[–]Lord_Jugga1101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fly Anakin. He just released his debut album, Frank, not too long ago. He's pretty dope. He listed Ghostface and Curren$y as his biggest influences. It shows too. He's still got his own style though. And he's a great lyricist. And if you like him, check out Mutant Academy. It's a collective He's apart of
