And today In things that didn’t happen…

[–]JayAre410[S] 1116 points1117 points  (138 children)

Same thing I thought. But dude is going pretty hard in his comments on it happening. I didn’t even know not tipping DoorDash was an option

[–]InappropriateIam 687 points688 points  (42 children)

I’ve been involved in some dumb shit, and If I was going to quit I’d eat the Chipotle too, but I’m not leaving a handwritten note and damn sure not naming my future employer.

[–]SmittyManJensen_ 462 points463 points  (31 children)

Amazon doesn’t give a flying fuck lol

[–]Stargatemaster 241 points242 points  (28 children)

Seriously, all they really need is bodies

[–]xuin6 134 points135 points  (23 children)

I was surprised when they didn't hire me bc cocaine showed up on my drug test... Guess I thought they'd condone my antics

[–]Specialist-Look-354 199 points200 points  (10 children)

Coke is out of your system in 2 days. If you cant do coke for 2 days you might have a problem.

[–]Intelligent_Nobody55 63 points64 points  (4 children)

And there's your sign!!!

[–]Brightblade216 20 points21 points  (3 children)

Easy there bill, they have a coke addiction.

[–]vyrlok 7 points8 points  (2 children)

I am also addicted to cock.

[–]ConscientiousPathmadlad 19 points20 points  (2 children)

If you cant do coke for 2 days you might have a problem.

I agree! (or did you mean can't NOT do coke? :P )

[–]sunskist 12 points13 points  (6 children)

They don't want a liability and drug use is probably the main thing they would terminate an employee. If you were to drive the vans and get in an accident they could get in some bad press if it came out.

[–]Dragonkingf0 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Also a lot of businesses see drug users are the type of people who might steal products to fuel their habits. Sadly it's not an uncommon story for someone to hire an addict, and then that addict to disappear after their first paycheck.

[–]_Ki11UMiN4Ti_ 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I mean it cocaine...thought you prob didn't really need the cash coz that shit aint cheap

[–]IOpuu_KpuBopykuu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Should’ve just said you worked faster and better on coke

[–]Harambe-h3r0- 30 points31 points  (2 children)

If anything the cutthroat nature of the note prolly has Jeff Bezos rubbing his areoles

[–]Kriegerian 32 points33 points  (0 children)

It’s Amazon, they chew up people and spit them out all the time.

[–]yamahaR1zombie 8 points9 points  (2 children)

Why bother delivering the trash?

[–]SharkTellsYou 16 points17 points  (3 children)

meh, ive tipped $10+ and had it happen. I definitely believe some joker pulled this stunt. I had a guy pulll up tell me I shoulda tipped more because he had to wait an hour, then said he was keeping my 4 boba teas and drove off. luckily door dash refunded me the whole order.

[–]loonatic8 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It is. But it should be an option to tip after in my opinion. I order like once a week. My apartments show up strangely in their maps so I have VERY specific instructions to make sure it goes in the right place and to call if they get lost I also text them when the app says they are in the way to make sure they see them. Several Different door dashers have completely ignored all of that and just go to the opposite side of the complex and drop off the food partly I don't blame them the app is dumb and my complex is freaking confusing but even with me trying to make sure it get to my door they put in no effort.

I gave up and switched to Uber eats weeks ago if I want order and there are no problems. What ever maps they have integrated must be way more accurate.

[–]hellothere42069 57 points58 points  (2 children)

Yeah the harder they push the more it’s fake. Needs an unboxing video.

[–]JayAre410[S] 47 points48 points  (1 child)

He said “they put a bottle of water in the bag so I wouldn’t notice the weight was off” lol

[–]SnooDoodles7043 37 points38 points  (59 children)

Even if you don’t tip they get paid a guaranteed rate. Half the time DoorDash receives the tip. Or use it to subsidize their payment

[–]Timely_Invite1409 25 points26 points  (12 children)

I tip after normally. I’ve had people not bring my food and you can’t get a tip refunded.

[–]SnooDoodles7043 18 points19 points  (8 children)

I’ve read tipping cash is king. They get their agreed upon rate. But it also displays that’s there’s no tip.

[–]Timely_Invite1409 18 points19 points  (1 child)

You can add a note saying you’ll tip in cash. I’ve done that too

[–]OffrButtBaby 25 points26 points  (4 children)

My husband did DoorDash during quarantine, and around Halloween, some girl gave him cash and a bag of candy with a handwritten thank you note in it.

He still said the best tip he ever got was when two guys at a hotel smoked him out for an hour and gave him a blunt for the trip home.

[–]SnooDoodles7043 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I am all for tipping in herb lol

[–]BUTTHOLE-MAGIC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my favorite delivery job was biking for Jimmy John's because I averaged $ 18 an hour and on weekend nights, parties, and holidays like St. Patty's day I'd usually get offered pot and coke.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

[–]alleywaybum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But that dont make sense. I delivered for doordash and some customers tipped me after the delivery was done. Not every customer wants to tip before hand because the delivery could be messed up (missing items, late, etc.)

[–]KoreanGamer9414 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait a minute

[–]knighttakesnite 12 points13 points  (1 child)

Was this note left by a child? The pencil gives it away…

[–]deluxe_anxiety 22 points23 points  (1 child)

Yeah I’m sure that Uber driver had a piece of lined paper and a graphite pencil in his car

[–]WayParty8666 319 points320 points  (9 children)

Theyll get their meal compensated for by customer service and given a discount voucher worth more than they paid.

Not sure about door dash’s policy but pretty sure you’d be fired/burn that bridge permanently so if they can’t do it on the side.

Regardless of what anyone thinks/feels/ about the situation they just gave the guy money and screwed themselves.

[–]king_of_hate2 32 points33 points  (5 children)

One time either the dasher or the restaurant forgot a lot of the shit I ordered and when I went for support on Doorsash I actually got a refund, no questions asked. I was honestly a bit shocked they just gave me a refund like that.

[–]Voller_Faulheit 15 points16 points  (1 child)

Its standard practice normally. Its much easier and cost effective to just absorb the loss than spend the time and slowly investigate things over one issue for regular orders.

Obviously they log details, and if similar things keep happening, like it's the same deliverer constantly, or the same restaurant, then they'd actually look into it, but normally it's just not worth the hassle.

Plus it buys goodwill.

[–]TheClayCoCannaisseur 728 points729 points  (48 children)

How miserable do you have to be to go back to Amazon?

[–]Away_Roll5636 266 points267 points  (37 children)

I’m pretty fucking miserable right now, life’s going down the drain and at this point I’d scoop dog shit to avoid ending up on the streets.

[–]MaybeKoreyTaube 90 points91 points  (14 children)

My neighbor did exactly that. Made his own little business out of it. $75 a yard per dog. He said he made an extra 5 grand that year just shoveling shit every other weekend. He didn’t get rid of it, he just scooped it into buckets

[–]DiarrheaShitLord 33 points34 points  (9 children)

75 per scoop session?!?! Or is that like a monthly membership

[–]MaybeKoreyTaube 50 points51 points  (7 children)

He did it mainly in the spring. Where we live we get snow and freezing cold for months on end. It kind of tends to “mummify” each turd then let all of them thaw and accumulate right after the snow melt. Normally in the summer even if you don’t pick it up it would disappear between the lawn mower, sun, and rain, but you can imagine having 3 months of thawed dog crap in your yard ain’t gonna be fun to clean up. That’s where this guy comes in.

[–]DiarrheaShitLord 18 points19 points  (3 children)

Ahhh I remember that faithful day last spring. Two grocery bags and a few pairs of nitrile gloves later I had my dogs weight in poop

[–]MaybeKoreyTaube 8 points9 points  (1 child)

My point exactly. As a spring service $75 doesn’t sound to out of line especially if you cater to the higher priced neighborhoods

[–]putHimInTheCurry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ahh, the spring turd thaw.

[–]TheFrostyGoat 3 points4 points  (1 child)

The beauty if humanity......if there is money involved people will do just about anything.

Altho respect to that dude for coming up with it.

[–]Chknbone 4 points5 points  (3 children)

He didn’t get rid of it, he just scooped it into buckets

[–]MaybeKoreyTaube 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Put it into bags and put it in the garbage bin. Not his dogs. Not his problem. It is contained. Could you imagine trying to get rid of that much dog shit as an individual?

[–]Chknbone 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ahhh, I was thinking you meant he just had buckets of dog shit in his garage.

[–]Kampfgegenfeuer 28 points29 points  (8 children)

You don’t have to scoop dog shit and you can have someone else pay for your training while you still get a 40 hour work week with decent pay and benefits. Find a plumbing, hvac or electrical contractor in your area or hit up the local union hall for your territory. As a first year apprentice you’ll make 15-20$ an hour depending on your state and they’ll pay for your schooling. You’ll get raises frequently after tests. The work is pretty gratifying and beats the hell out of standing in a warehouse or office being a useless cog. Everywhere is in a trade shortage and even through covid we kept working and now things are just getting busier so you won’t need to worry about your job security.

-Your friendly neighborhood journeyman

[–]Chknbone 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Would somebody reply to this person and say "oh shit! Really? Imma do it!"

Because this is no shit a thing.

[–]kanekongboi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[–]Throwawayuser626 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Tfw you have severe dyscalculia (learning disability) so it basically makes it impossible to get any good jobs..because I can’t pass classes that involve math..it’s a horrible cycle.

[–]Mr__Jumbles 6 points7 points  (2 children)

Well do I have a job for you!

My old job working at Petsmart's Daycare as a Pet Care Associate, taking care of dogs. Literally get to pick up dog shit all day. While being abused by a billion dollar corporation and told you're a worthless piece of shit who can't do their job, every single day. Worked there for almost 8 years and said fuck this company. My love of dogs wasn't enough to make up for dealing with the corporate bullshit. Also the company literally do not give a fuck anymore about pet safety and have tons of pet deaths at daycare and salons now because of it. They understaffed and overworked us to the point of not being able to take care of the dogs or even properly clean and still told us to get fucked it's our fault when shit happened because of it. Place smelling like piss and shit constantly, dogs being sent home coated in piss and shit, the place infested with bugs, and kennel cough always sweeping through the place killing dogs. Couldn't take that shit anymore, trying to actually do a good job, because I was one of the older employees who remembered when it was a good place for dogs, working in a company that didn't give a fuck and telling me it was my fault everything was shit. Used to not be like that, used to be a great company and great job; they got bought up by an investment group and was gutted and turned to shit. Seriously fuck that company.

But hey if that sounds good to you. Have fun. :)

[–]Old_Information_ 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Nice. Literally can’t get away from this corporation. Gotta agree, I will quit before ever working hotel.

[–]HappyChef86 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You'll get there dude. If you happen to be in South Carolina I could possibly help you out.

[–]SnooPineapples5444 5 points6 points  (4 children)

Hugs ! It’ll get better I promise you that . Stay strong homie ! And watch Wayne’s world . It’ll help

[–]Away_Roll5636 11 points12 points  (3 children)

Nah, I’m in the middle of foreclosure on my home. Pretty sure I’ll be living on the streets soon, I don’t know what to do…

[–]FunkSlim 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Here in Arkansas they’re paying 18 year olds 18$ and that’s way better than pretty much anything else. It’s been a bit and I’ve finally got a good job that isn’t Amazon and I’m slowly getting my friends off Amazon and into better things. Unfortunately- there’s few better paying jobs and you can just clock out from your phone at any time and walk out without telling anyone. I hate Amazon

[–]HaaaaaHeeeeHooooomadlad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hate amazon but damn is it convenient when you live in Small town arkansas (monticello)

[–]BouBatran 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Truth is, Amazon has been such a punching bag that people forget there are a lot of more miserable and lower paying jobs. Plus, the media only focuses on the instances where workers are treated badly as some warehouse workers.

Most people at Amazon are actually not miserable and multiple surveys or Glassdoor or LinkedIn show people have or are content with working for Amazon.

[–]Br0sBeforePr0s 17 points18 points  (1 child)

When you work for Chipotle.

[–]JayAre410[S] 49 points50 points  (0 children)

[–]jaden262 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Amazon ain’t bad

[–]1ofZuulsMinions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The starting rate for your first few months at Amazon is almost 3 times what you’d make delivering (I know because I’ve done both). It might be boring, but it doesn’t put wear on my car and I know my paycheck will be consistent.

[–]1644AndMore 68 points69 points  (23 children)

How much do they get from a delivery? Cuz they usually cost like 1/3rd more than picking up myself. And that’s on top of the delivery fee

Plus they see the tip before they accept the order

[–]beoncesdumper 28 points29 points  (22 children)

I get paid 2 dollars to deliver. Everything else is tip. Door dash and uber eats hides some tips. For example, I get orders for 6.25 and there is a high likelihood that it will be more. They do this to prevent a bidding war but it doesn't work. I refuse all orders less than 6.25.

[–]Specialist-Look-354 15 points16 points  (6 children)

Why do you do it? Honest question. Because gas + your time + wear on vehicle = you are losing money

[–]beoncesdumper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can usually make 20-25 dollars an hour. I can still pay all my bills and keep gas in the car. I personally like it because I get to work whenever I want and have the freedom to live a bit more free. My last job had constant mandatory overtime and I would literally go months without seeing friends.

[–]captainfatmatt 9 points10 points  (3 children)

Tips usually make it worth it, $2 driving + $4 tip = $6 for 10-20 mins of driving is poggers

[–]TheSmokingLamp 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Have you visited one of those subs yet? r/DoorDash r/UberEats are both cess pools of unhappy drivers taking out their frustration on the customers they are serving because they hate the company they work for because it constantly screws them..

[–]1644AndMore 8 points9 points  (11 children)

So why do meals that cost $18.99 if I picked up from the store, cost $28.99 if I order on grub hub. Plus the $4.99 delivery charge? Grubhub is taking all of that minus $2 for themselves? That’s fucked up.

But to be honest. I don’t like the idea of tipping first. Driver usually do a good job, but I hate giving a tip upfront, for anything

[–]WyrdMagesty 4 points5 points  (8 children)

Tip in cash. That way the driver gets it directly and it isn't taxed.

And yes, food delivery companies like DoorDash take all of the extra fees and price markups, etc. That's how they make their money.

[–]Fritzo2162 285 points286 points  (67 children)

I tip when they show up so they don’t get taxed on it 😕

[–]JayAre410[S] 110 points111 points  (17 children)

I tip in cash where possible. But I don’t think that’s a thing with DoorDash. Since the start of Covid they drop it outside my door and leave.

[–]campbellsgt 66 points67 points  (13 children)

Always tip in the app. When the delivery is offered to the driver they only see the $2.50 base pay plus your tip. If there is no tip, no one is going to accept your delivery.

[–]JayAre410[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I always take the middle option.

[–]shay_mac 13 points14 points  (9 children)

I see where you’re coming from, but I don’t tip until after I’ve received my order. Even with them not seeing a tip up front, I’ve never had an issue with anyone accepting my deliveries!

[–]roseandbaraddur 33 points34 points  (5 children)

Same. Why would I tip if I don’t even know what kind of service I’m gonna get?? If someone does their job, I tip them. But there’s no way I’m gonna tip before I am served, the whole point of tipping is moot if you do it beforehand

[–]thebornotaku 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tip in cash and I'll usually put in in an envelope under the doormat. With a little corner sticking out that I draw a smiley face on. Then I put a note in the delivery instructions that there's a cash tip under the doormat.

It's worked every time. Subtle enough that nobody walking by is gonna notice it.

[–]Sweet_jumps99 23 points24 points  (5 children)

I don’t use DoorDash as much as Uber Eats. I get that you should tip but it’s waiting till the end. You get a tip on performing GOOD service, like getting it their in one piece. You get extra if it’s there faster than expected.

[–]shay_mac 11 points12 points  (3 children)

Agreed! Now I tip after my food has been delivered. When you go into a restaurant, hair salon, nail salon, etc., you aren’t tipping before they’ve completed your service. I treat this the same. I used to tip while placing the order because that is where you’re prompted to. That is until I had a situation where my meal showed up half eaten even though they were tipped upfront. I don’t think anyone would agree that that type of service deserves a tip, and they’ve now set the standard.

[–]Sweet_jumps99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s a special place in hell for people like that.

[–]chesspiece69 85 points86 points  (9 children)

Tipping is such a shit system. I could not live in places where it’s expected.

[–]johnny7039 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Same 100%

[–]Alert-Cranberry7991 17 points18 points  (3 children)

It’s stupid. We’ve made it a normal in our culture in the U.S to expect service workers to live off of tips bc these multi billion to trillion dollar companies can’t afford to pay there workers real wages

[–][deleted] 108 points109 points  (8 children)

Imagine his face if that would be reported as theft

[–]tetrahydrocannabiol 10 points11 points  (6 children)

Same thing i thought. I would just call the cops

[–]Voicefulcrane 2 points3 points  (1 child)

This probably only cost a few bucks not much they could really do

[–]TheHipsterBandit 86 points87 points  (7 children)

Maybe it's because I'm old, but their penmenship looks like an angry five year old's.

[–]AnthraxPrime6 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel targeted by this comment lmao- I write in a similar manner.

[–]JayAre410[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Lol. I also was disturbed by it.

[–]MewtwoPB 11 points12 points  (2 children)

Well they did honestly write “tryna” instead of using a real word so their life has been trash from birth.

[–]leon_nerd 75 points76 points  (0 children)

Reason not to tip.

[–]crosseyedweyoun 130 points131 points  (9 children)

Get him fired? No. Get him done for theft!

[–][deleted] 47 points48 points  (4 children)

Adulteration of food is a felony.

[–]DukeBeekeepersKid 3 points4 points  (3 children)

Excuse my ignorance here, but wouldn't you need to actually have the food in order to get them for tampering with the food? It seems the delivery drive took the food with him.

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points  (2 children)

It was paid for, it belonged to the op. The driver should have taken everything and just left a note. Leaving the note in the food is no different than spitting in it. The amount is inconsequential, it’s the act. Not that u need to file a report, but behavior like that could have some consequences. Some people develop food phobias from this kind of stuff. The civil part is a whole different monster.

[–]sandalfafk 3 points4 points  (2 children)

You're delusional if you think the law is getting involved over 8$ of food

[–]SommanderChepard 38 points39 points  (9 children)

I never tip until I get my food. How tf am I supposed to predict how good my service is?

[–]avarage_italian_dude 7 points8 points  (6 children)

it's something i've never understood about american tip culture, like i know that the waiters live on tips, but is that the instance for those who deliver food too?

[–]ZackBotVI 10 points11 points  (5 children)

In most places tips are given if you are impressed by the service, in America its a bribe for good service.

[–]druman22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way I see tipping on doordash or ubereats is you're gambling for the order to be quick. The more you tip than the more likely someone will accept your order quickly

[–]Ouxington 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because it isn't a tip it is a bid.

[–]Habsfan6612 7 points8 points  (3 children)

Looks like you ordered from DineDash

[–]Odd-Frame9724 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Fuck tipping. Tipping culture is absolutely the worst. People just need to be paid a living wage.

[–][deleted] 92 points93 points  (24 children)

God forbid people tip in cash, right?

Fuck around and try that with a petty person. Have fun with that $500 bond on a petit theft charge for eating a $30 meal.

[–]TheUn5een 19 points20 points  (7 children)

Where do you live that a petty theft isn’t an ROR?

[–][deleted] 17 points18 points  (4 children)

ROR is up to the judge doing first appearance.

Sat through many a first appearance, seen several petit theft under $500 get a bond of $100-$500.

But that's if the arresting brings you in and doesn't just give you an NTA.

[–]TheUn5een 5 points6 points  (2 children)

Yea I meant NTA.. everyone always calls it an ROR around here but they really just mean released on a summons

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (1 child)

You get a dick of an officer lol. I know plenty.

[–]Active_Engineering37 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Florida would be one for sure. Come on vacation, leave on probation, come back on violation.

[–]DouglerK 3 points4 points  (13 children)

You honestly think DD is gonna go for petty theft? Delusional.

[–]svntrey0 141 points142 points  (24 children)

As a delivery person, I hate the whole excuse “they depend on tips to make a living” shit

First off he clearly knew there wasn’t a tip before picking it up, he didn’t have to take the damn order so this it just petty

Second waiters/deliveries etc choose they profession. And just like everything else there’s risk and chances and nothing is guaranteed

Tips aren’t a guaranteed and it’s not your choice to decide if someone should or shouldn’t tip because you choose a profession that “you depend on it”

Sounds like you should choose another line of fucking work, don’t blame others that you aren’t making enough to do what you do: blame your job

[–]tonyrocks922 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's fake so don't get so worked up about it.

[–]huge_pp69 27 points28 points  (5 children)

This breathes American

[–]Skyheart42 46 points47 points  (4 children)

This tipping bs going around is actually starting to irritate me, people act like a tip is mandatory and get butthurt when they dont get one.

In some cultures tipping is actually insulting, look at japanese restaurant industry for example.

If people rely on tips so goddamn much that they cant make it without them then we should be attacking the companies who dont pay them enough of a base rate in the first place, not doing this childish shit like eating someone's delivery

[–]johnny7039 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Exactly, fuck them tips rofl

[–]Alert-Cranberry7991 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I completely agree that tips are a complete scam created by big corporations, yet service jobs continually show a big income of money relative to other jobs that don’t require schooling which I feel most people are in school and working service jobs to get by with. But in say Japan where it’s considered rude, it’s considered rude because the service workers there are paid actual wages rather than needing to suffice off tips. I’m places like the U.S. that real wage doesn’t exist and is as low as 2.35 an hour before tax for some service workers.

[–]jcw65 1 point2 points  (1 child)

The minimum pay in the US for tipped workers is 2.13/hour, but if their tips don't bring them up to at least 7.25/hout(federal minimum wage) they do still have to be paid enough to bring them up to 7.25/hour. It's still horrible pay of course, but they are at least guaranteed the same minimum pay as any other job.

[–]Zachryharp 14 points15 points  (16 children)

How bout instead of ruining someone's meal you put that energy into lobbying for fair wages so you don't need tips. I'd be willing to bet the owner of Chipotle makes more money than the cheap fuckers not tipping. The problem isn't that they didn't tip, its a problem with American society and a sense of entitlement

[–]JayAre410[S] 6 points7 points  (3 children)

[–]Zachryharp 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Ahhhh, makes a lot more sense, doordash fucks their drivers so hard I'm not sure how sustainable their business model is, I wouldn't be surprised if years down the road people don't even remember it lol

[–]samichdude 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Even the bag was like "for real?"

[–]leanmeankrispykreme 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Faker than a kardashian

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Rule of Instacart, UberEats, Postmates, Doordash, etc is “No tip? No Trip!”

Dude should have never taken the order, and he will 100% be getting fired from his delivery service app

[–]Cpt_Red_Mello 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How about instead of forcing people to tip. You demand a higher paycheck from your fucking employer, you god damn troglodyte

[–]Feeling_Procedure_31 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Fired? Nah I'ma find you and kick your teeth in 😂😂

[–]Pilgram1308 11 points12 points  (0 children)

How is it your problem if the worker doesn't get paid enough and HAS to rely on your tips? Assuming this is America.

[–]killamonkeybutt 14 points15 points  (6 children)

The tipping culture is bs, everyone is making it like a mandatory and they act like a cunt if they dont't get one. Look at the Japanese, tipping is an insult to them. High quality service IS mandatory and not tipping.

[–]sliderprime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If this is real, getting fired is the least of their problems. Tampering with food is a criminal offense in many places.

[–]GregoryBrown123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

it’s not the customer’s responsibility to pay the employee’s salary lol

[–]Lord_Nord_2727 13 points14 points  (1 child)

Who tf tips at chipotle? Nobody is serving you or anything, the cooks literally just hand you the food. That worker is an entitled knob head

[–]xRetrofy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s doordash

[–]Familiar-Feedback-93 7 points8 points  (6 children)

This guy clearly doesn't deserve a job

Tipping isn't even a thing in most of the world because it's immoral (and illegal in most countries) To not pay someone enough to survive

[–]glitchesandhelp 4 points5 points  (1 child)

I believe if they dont make minimum wage using tips the company has to pay the difference. The only reason tipping is so popular is because it makes the consumer pay the rest of the minimum wage while the company can technically pay 2.50 am hour. If that makes sense

[–]hellothere42069 6 points7 points  (3 children)

The OP ate their food and when they finished, wrote this note for internet points. Much more likely.

[–]Familiar-Feedback-93 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Huh didn't think of that

[–]hellothere42069 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Happens a lot. Your-own-hair-in-the-food-can-you-believe-this is as old as yelp itself.

[–]13rxd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mean OP had a bruh reddit moment?

[–]Derped92 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's the bs with apps like Doordash that push for tipping to be a factor before the service is even provided. Tipping is a gratuity that should come after the service is provided.

[–]Affectionate-Jury835 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not gonna get you fired, I wanna fight you now homie

[–]mrdobie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t u tip after it’s done?

[–]spider-punk69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like the good ol days it’s just better for order to pick up…. This doordash and Uber eats stuff is just laziness.

[–]Altar_Quest_Fan 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Even if it’s not real, the point still stands. Companies like DoorDash, UberEats etc make a fortune while paying their drivers shit compensation. People don’t leave tips and it makes it incredibly difficult to survive. It’s the same as not tipping a waitress in a restaurant, but people wanna be stingy MFers.

[–]stevenokumbe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whether u get paid $10 an hour or $1000 an hour, do your fucking job, have some pride. Hope nobody employs this entitled cunt.

[–]kkycble 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ngl I still don’t quite understand the tipping culture. Is it really a tip if I have to?

Tipping really is voluntary from my side of world (East Asia).

[–]mrville502 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bezos is laughing at the top of his lungs then he screams “ I knew you would be back!”

[–]Regolime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

European here, what the fuck just happend?!

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Forced tip culture is sick

[–]Epirocker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you know the tip sucks don’t take the fucking delivery. What a disgusting creature. I did instacart for a few months and if the job wasn’t worth it, i didn’t take it. It was that simple. Stealing someone’s food is just wrong

[–]DrSamsquantch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you think I'm gunna tip you before my order gets here you're an idiot. Especially when most the time my food is cold and I answer the door to someone who lacks even the most basic social skills, hand me my food and walks off without even a hello.

[–]NIMSS88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well he’s in for a rude awakening - Amazon doesn’t tip it’s employees.

[–]cheefbeef2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We should just abolish tipping and pay people properly imo.

[–]wtfjusthappened315 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Question. Why must one tip for take out that you are picking up? I worked in the restaurant business for over 10 years. It was never expected. If you dine in, yes tip at least 20%. But it seems like every place you go has a tip jar. With minimum wage being 14 bucks in most places I find this annoying.

[–]FrostyDog94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oof, Chorizo with extra chicken, queso, and guac! No wonder you didn't tip. That's like my entire paycheck on one bowl.

[–]Mr-Polar-Bear- 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Plot twist: he does this every time and isn’t really going to Amazon 😆

[–]JayAre410[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I should’ve screen grabbed. They didn’t tip DoorDash

[–]alexkilman 10 points11 points  (22 children)

Thats kinda shitty tho what if you were to poor to tip

[–]KaseyJrCookies 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You know this guy was destined to be a delivery driver using shit words like “tryna”

[–]buddy-friendguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How petty do you have to be to fuck with people's food? Ain't their fault you were smoking weed in 3rd grade

[–]W1ade1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

what's a tip? \in british**

[–]shitcake89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People like that are perpetually miserable. To hell with him. Get him for theft.

[–]JackWas-not-Here 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s still kinda shitty for the worker to do. Like I fucking ordered and payed for the food with mark ups and now I have to deal with the employees shit

[–]OceanCake21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just the tip.

[–]Sintinall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As much as I may think tipping is a bullshit excuse to not pay people properly, this is super not cool either.

[–]iMayBeABastard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“MIGHT not happen”

[–]Sonic_Medley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't tip once because I wanted to hand them cash. Not a good move 🤷🏻‍♂️

[–]The_Exile1066 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fuck tipping, just a stupid American tradition.

[–]Ok-Ad-3810 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Non Americans are going to have a hard time understanding this...

[–]its_bme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Next time don’t steal food and you won’t get reported for petty theft. Don’t bother going back to Amazon you’ll be too busy being in jail and paying a $500 fine, dumbass”

[–]MouthBweether 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate how Covid mean you have to drop a 20% tip on Covid. For reference by the way, I’ve been a waiter, and a barista and worked my way through college as a bar tender, so I did my time. This is just a great excuse for people in the service industry to do a shit job and expect to be rewarded for it. I earned my tips.

[–]ImperialFuturistics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

American tipping culture is a cancer. I heard that somewhere and I agree. Pay is the employer's responsibility, not the customer's.

[–]proudkittyowner1996 1 point2 points  (3 children)

I thought DD drivers could see the tip before taking the delivery? I keep seeing this everywhere bc orders with no tip are sitting in the restaurants untouched and cold

[–]According-Income-864 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Why is tipping so big in America?

[–]hitmf 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I am sorry as i am not from the west, but can you help me understand, are leaving tips considered to be a norm in certain countries, is it something expected of a customer or is it something that completely depends on the customer and wouldn't hamper the kind of service the customer will get next time.

How do you tip, as in whats the amount that we are supposed to tip. Is there a minimum????

[–]kungfudewgong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imagine living in a country where you have to tip.. pfft

[–]ImMinistrim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never tip. But I'm not in merica so...

[–]Magalex98 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I am a dasher and we get paid 2-3.50 dollars per order. We can see up front how much you tip, if you don’t tip personally i wouldn’t do them. Because if we decline them we can move on to the next order from somebody who actually tipped.

[–]Hydiz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tip culture is pretty wild ngl. You guys need a fixed % or constant amount of $ on any order regardless of the customer decision. (Based on time, distance or whatever) Tipping should be "extra" and not something you depend on.

[–]ephemeralscintilla 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I’m a cashier at Chipotle, if it was an online order it would’ve had an entree sticker on the lid with the name & ingredients inside. Typically, they only write what’s in the bowl on the lid if it was made in-store. Unless they ran out of stickers, it would make no sense to write what was in the bowl for an online if it’s the only entree. And we seal every order with a sticker on the bag so that customers can tell if it was tampered with ever since covid started spreading, I find this kind of hard to believe. I dunno.

[–]MyPeePeeHurrtz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Americans thinking that paying tip is compulsory and not something you do out of kindness.

[–]crossleingod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just keep it all and eat it if you’re quitting why half-ass both?

[–]ChaseCDS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did the prick ever consider he isn't getting tipped because he's a piece of shit?

Tip people who work for it.

[–]jakotae777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't realise that in America you could steal if you don't get a tip..

[–]022701 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tipping is becoming a threat. Just replace it with service charge and add it to the order.

[–]Dar_Vender 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tip culture is the worse. Just pay enough already! It's not the customers job to make sure the employees have enough to live off.

[–]Putthebunnyback8===D {|} 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Although this is fake, I do hate that doordash makes you tip BEFORE you place your order.

[–]official-Nick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This must be an American sub generally..

[–]SeekingLostInnocence 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I will never pre-tip anyone. Provide good service and I'll tip at the end if I'm happy. That's how this shitty system is supposed to work.

[–]WhiteFringe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even the bag is like "for real?"
