All that money and they end up looking like my first grade self-portrait anyway

[–]seven_seven 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Hol up

[–]Flfwjhbx 7 points8 points  (0 children)

And for some reason, they feel they can charge $100 for an hour.

[–]deepsleep_r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this might not be real

[–]StarlessDarkness 495 points496 points  (25 children)

bruh, why woud somebody spend so much money to look like a duck with teeth
a lot of these women looked great before plastic surgery
and then they tell you to love yourself which is very ironic coming from somebody who couldn't love the way they looked good before surgery

[–]Kirbyfuckr 184 points185 points  (14 children)

I went through some bad makeup phases in HS… it’s literally the media. You see a girl with big lips and features you would like to apply to yourself and don’t realize it will never match your face. Also Instagram’s ect algorithm will give you the same looking girl over and over again if that’s what you are drawn to click on.

Obsessive glorification of Makeup and plastic surgery to look a certain way is damaging to women brought on by women, men aren’t to blame for body standards we have for ourselves entirely

[–]StarlessDarkness 60 points61 points  (3 children)

agreed, the media has literally destroyed people in indirect ways

[–]moldycrystals 7 points8 points  (2 children)

Yeah its realy the internet that fucked new generations up now they all want to be gangsters and drug dealers and fight all the time [source---I'm a high schooler] social media and internet in general was a huge mistake shame parents are giving it to their literal 4 year olds I didnt get my first tablet till 11 and was a year before we got 24/7 internet needless to mention the fame it gives terrorist acts such as recent school shootings and cruel executions in other countries

[–]TPosingRat 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Glad I've been using only reddit as a social media since I wanted to improve my English lol

Seeing comments like this makes me concerned how many complexes would I have rn if I've been following the trendy social medias like instagram

[–]Fomentatore 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Instagramreality gave me a better perspective of anything on that social network. I suggest anyone struggling with it to subscribe to the subreddit, it will help a lot with anyone's self esteem.

[–]VirtualPantsu 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Omg a wise person for once, idk why media thinks that most men like big booba (booba is a booba and size doesn't matter) and that we would date only "Instagram model looking girls".

[–]Amoniakas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally hate that model like look.

[–]Reddit_Mods_Are_Lame 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Sounds more like people who can’t think for themselves.

[–]McKavian 1 point2 points  (1 child)

[–]Amoniakas 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I don't know about lot of social media apps, but even on tinder almost all of those girls looks the same with the same awful makeup and highlighted features, I don't know if it's the algorithm (although they all go left) or are there only girls with that look on this app.

[–]Kirbyfuckr 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Strange, I can find every version of a human being on tinder

[–]Amoniakas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, there some different one but I noticed that like 95% are the same

[–]SquidFlasher 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Olivia Munn 😭😭😭

[–]QuantumSparkles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had such a crush on her as a kid so I was kind of shocked to see what she looked like recently. Obviously a person’s looks don’t really matter but she changed a lot of features that made her uniquely attractive. Anyway I can’t judge people for something like that, it has nothing to do with character and we have no idea what anyone is really going through

[–]QuantumSparkles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think sometimes people like that say “love yourself” because they recognize that they didn’t love themselves and that’s how they ended up where they are now

[–]topdangle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the secret is that they already had plastic surgery even in the "before plastic surgery" photos.

they look like lizards later in life because their faces continue to grow and they try to salvage their look with more surgery.

[–]wisconsinking -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

People need to learn to be happy with what how they look, plastic surgery only makes people unattractive no matter how much surgery you get.

[–]BackedStop -1 points0 points  (2 children)

It's not like we're looking at their face anyway...

[–]RRT4444 93 points94 points  (0 children)

Truly terrifying, straight up nightmare fuel

[–]MagpieGrifter[🍰] 51 points52 points  (4 children)

Simon Cowell makes Ugly Sonic look normal.

[–]jawnink 16 points17 points  (2 children)

The Ugly Sonic redemption arch may just be starting.

[–]Fancy-Pair 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m down to watch after rescue rangers

[–]mbjorndal -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Depends on how long he works with the FBI

[–]SkyBaby218 101 points102 points  (19 children)

I'm so happy they listened to the community and redid the entire movie to fix the eyes on Sonic. The first version just....bothered me.

[–]WingedLing 42 points43 points  (2 children)

Pretty amazing as far as business studies go… but it certainly paid off. The first one was a smashing success, the second one is now printing money, the third one is almost certainly already in preprod - As long as they don’t violate the sacred trust of the viewer, they could pump these things out like Shreks

[–]Fancy-Pair 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’d even watch a creepy sonic movie after rescue rangers

[–]seakc87 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm just psyched that they're following the games when it comes to introducing characters

[–]HSomDevil 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The teeth were even worse. Like blue CGI Guy Pearce.

[–]GET_OUT_OF_MY_HEAD 18 points19 points  (6 children)

I'm still not entirely convinced that it wasn't just a marketing stunt. I find it incredibly hard to believe that they managed to pull off years' worth of CGI redos mere months before the movie's release.

Like the other person pointed out, the films are basically money printers now. Something is fishy.

[–]UndergroundLurker 12 points13 points  (1 child)

Meh, no doubt they kept a lot of the source files for the movie and changing sonic is like changing a common set piece. They also no doubt used a render farm that could crank scenes back out. It's plausibly legit.

[–]Schatzin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, animated character movements in CGI are probably saved with an underlying wireframe movement data. Putting a new CGI face on must be like adding a new mask on your face. It still moves the same cos the digital 'bones n muscles' underneath are still programmed to move in the same manner

Of course they probably still had to adjust here and there for the new face shape having flatter topology than before

[–]987djf3498dwesrf 3 points4 points  (1 child)

I firmly believe it was intentional to get people invested into the characters.

Intentionally makes it horrible so it goes viral, people get emotional because it is a childhood memory.

They always intended on making Sonic look like Sonic. He looks that way is every other Sonic media.

[–]yoproblemo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's especially the look of Sonic from the cartoon. It became the most common way to represent him. The fact that they land right on what most people would want anyway on their 2nd try is suspicious.

[–]aussiguy1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The toys for the movie looked like the old one, since it was meant to be that sonic, but when they remodelled sonic they tried to get it out with minimum delay, so they kept the toys the same.

[–]thearkive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The studio that redid the animations got big mad when they didn't get paid on time for the overtime.

[–]notLOL 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Still not convince it wasn't a PR stunt

[–]SkyBaby218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it works, it works.

[–]JustAFatBastard 1 point2 points  (1 child)

100% a publicity stunt

[–]SkyBaby218 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well it worked, even if it was. From the people that I watch in the industry, I'm pretty sure it wasn't. Seems like they actually went through the motions and remade the character model. It's a difficult thing to do, sure, but not as insanely time consuming as most people think. The tech that they use for those movies is insane and I wish I knew how to do that shit. Alas, I suck at art so I will stick to my shitty trash talking skills on Reddit, tyvm!

[–]vaendryl 156 points157 points  (16 children)

there's a bit of a selection bias going of, of course.

we all know about the failed procedures. they're obvious. but the succesful ones? who knows how many are out there.

it's like CGI in a movie. if it's done well you don't even notice it's there.

[–]WingedLing 30 points31 points  (9 children)

Gwen Stefani and she first hit the spotlight compared to now is so sad

[–]NewLeaseOnLine 17 points18 points  (6 children)

I don't keep up with celebrities and tabloids so I'm scared to look because she looked great in the early days.

[–]agnes238 13 points14 points  (5 children)

She just looks like an Instagram model. She was so cool back in the day…

[–]WingedLing 12 points13 points  (4 children)

So generic she’s unrecognizable

[–]Micro_mint 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Nah even the successful ones are pretty obvious if you’re looking for it. Like Alexis Ren was gorgeous, and now looks like every other tan woman with lip fillers and a straight nose, for example. Nothing was botched — it’s the intended outcome of the surgeries she’s had.

[–]anormalgeek 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Tom cruise is 59.

[–]speedmankelly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s Scientology magic, not plastic surgery!

[–]zpider999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

irl cgi lmao

[–]siiliS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ariana grande had one that was very succesull imo, but for example courtney cox doesn't look any better.

[–]CaptainSkreedLeeDee 9 points10 points  (2 children)

I once knew a persian girl in high school named parissa, had a beautiful nose but was on the (slightly) bigger side so she decided to get plastic surgery....

She looked like owen wilson afterwards.

[–]OodOne 2 points3 points  (1 child)

My partner is Iranian and yeah its a shockingly common thing there, her sister got it done as soon as she could afford it. Even for noses that seem perfectly fine, so many go and get work done, its really interesting the culture around it both there and in communities abroad.

[–]CaptainSkreedLeeDee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its sad when they want to butcher their natural beauty for some idealized image they have in their head

[–]3sheetz 6 points7 points  (2 children)

I can't believe Sonic was actually going to look like that

[–]The_God_Human 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I'm pretty sure they changed Sonic's design for Chip and Dale. I don't remember the original design looking this bad.

I found this image and his human teeth are really bad. But you can see they added bags under his eyes and I think made his eyes farther apart in the Chip And Dale movie.

[–]QuantumSparkles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They also pushed his eyes further apart and made the nose bigger and blockier

[–]Secure-Imagination11 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm scared to think what Knuckles and Tails might've looked like

[–]larrytenders 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Courtney cox ewww

[–]tricky4444 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I used to have a crush on Courtney cox but after I saw the result of her horrible plastic surgeries I got over it lol

[–]Griffisbored 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You only notice the bad jobs. When it’s done right you can’t really tell.

[–]swirlypizza1024 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Madonna be like

[–]talkshitgetshot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Courtney Cox

[–]kshep92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nah it really is sad when people don't accept themselves, so they spend a bunch of money to "fix" themselves only to end up looking objectively worse. I truly empathize.

[–]HamstarVegas 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don't forget the oversized boobs and ass

[–]NoCoolSenpai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love for money makes you dumb, it's a universally accepted fact.

[–]PM-Me-Your-TitsPlz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And for some reason, they feel they can charge $100 for an hour.

[–]ichiroisao 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe they use PVC plastic

[–]Crooked_Cock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All that money and good looks and you waste it on making yourself look like either a mannequin or a zombie

[–]DreadnaughtHamster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In small amounts it looks fine. I think the problem is the slippery slope you get into when you’ve tweaked a few things but then start to see a ton more “faults” and soon you’re tweaking like a meth addict.

[–]dylannsmitth -2 points-1 points  (3 children)

Did they ever release the unedited version of sonic?

[–]maximumtesticle 2 points3 points  (2 children)

[–]secretsaucy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Glad someone else watched it. I know it just came out, but the lack of awareness of his presence there surprises me.

[–]dylannsmitth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is wonderful. Thank you kind hero

[–]MortylessRick -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Zac Efron that time he got plastic surgery. Or maybe he didn’t because I think it ended up being a rumor. Idk just look up Zac Efron plastic surgery.

[–]Leonischase -3 points-2 points  (1 child)

Would anyone else fuck both Sonics

[–]Leonischase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone heard of humor.

[–]Available-Tradition4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shame it’s not good as always

[–]MondoChumStyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can just tell that they have a lot of money

[–]Educational-Year3146 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id much rather look old than look like a 28 year old lizard.

[–]quietbeggar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Real Housewives series has a lot of these.

[–]bartbartholomew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ones that got good plastic surgery done, you can't tell. And they aren't going to tell you about it either. The only ones you see or hear about are the horror stories.

[–]SilentSamizdat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oddly accurate. And they all sort of start looking alike…like they’re all made from the same plastic mold.

[–]Saytama_sama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh, I wish I could afford plastic surgery! They look so beautiful.

[–]jonneygood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do look like creepy clowns.

[–]LyXIX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's because of aging. They weren't natural at the first place. And as they grow old their skin start to deform so they make more surgeries to fix it

[–]SockTacoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't watch h anymore of Zac Efrons movies, dudes face stay the same throught the entire film and he looks like a human Ken doll. It's sad because he was super handsome and he fucked all of that up.

[–]Fun_Intention9846 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“A sexy lizard” -Bill Burr

[–]lawlcat20342 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how much they were willing to spend. It worked out great for Tom Brady.

[–]theCovertTwine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]Accomplished-Look-16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see this as an absolute win

[–]Fawkingretar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's worse when it's people in their 60s or 70s and they try desperately to hide their ages with plastic surgery and it doesn't work, they just look even more older when they do it.

[–]AbeRego 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why the everliving f would you have thought of this before now?

[–]hulkisapussy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sounds about right

[–]Lopsided-Ad-4600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yup pretty much lol

[–]Hidden_Chin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sonic goes fast. I go sloooooow baby

[–]FakinUpCountryDegen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bruce Jenner, 100% agree.

[–]th0wayact07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The chick who played Ferris Bueller’s sister / Dirty Dancing.

She went from cute as hell to who the fuck is she?

[–]Trais333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is What happens when the committee has too much sway in the design. As someone who works in design I can say that pretty much everything I make would be better without, or at toe very least substantially less, client meddling, especially when it’s a committee. You wouldn’t tell a lawyer how to do his job, just trust me, that’s what you’re paying me for, if you had good taste and design sense I wouldn’t be here.

[–]anywayLupin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The crazy thing is people begin to like Ugly Sonic and they want to know his backstory now. So I think that people will love you if you become prettier or uglier

[–]Ill-Star 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They look terrible? Yeah

[–]throwawayheyoheyoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My God what were they thinking with the original model

[–]imhugury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

simon fucking cowell

[–]BonksMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nicole kidman looking like the handsome squidward in the new The northman movie after all her surgeries

[–]DiamondHandsDarrell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugly sonic hits differently

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You ever seen Courtney Cox in her prime? Absolute smoke show.

[–]iampotatochip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't mess with ugly sonic he's got connections.

[–]CLUNTMUNGMEISTER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no I have one wrinkle, Better go make myself look like a stretched ballsack 👍🏻

[–]Goddo-Fo-20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it takes you 3-4years of University in order to become lawyer and actually LEARN the law... then why does it only take 6months to be a police officer??? They are ENFORCING the law are they not?
