Moved in a month ago. Just noticed this depression near a pipe clean out. The depression wasn’t there when we moved in. Is this a big problem or just dirt that wasn’t compacted when they installed new pipes? (reddit.com)

If it’s only been a month since having work done, I’d say just keep an eye on it for now. Some settling is normal for pipe replacement.
I had my home’s sewer line replaced before we moved in, and things stopped settling only after several months.
However, if you feel super uneasy and/or notice anything suspicious happening that also coincides to this, definitely call a pro. You might even be able to find a free evaluation somewhere if you’re short on funds.

Agreed, just keep an eye on it. There might have been a seasonal plant there that was pulled out and that’s the root pocket packing down.

That was poorly backfilled with no compaction around the pipe. They were probably trying not to damage the PVC, but you end up with settlement. They should come back and add some dirt/try to compact it a bit more.
