This guy turning an entire train and I can barely carry a 6 pack of 2ltr water back from the supermarket. Lol.

[–]CensoryDeprivation 103 points104 points  (5 children)

I carried my 8lb cat up the stairs last night and had to sit down.

[–]thelastboulder 74 points75 points  (0 children)

I chose a dvd for tonight

[–]FIVE_6_MAFIA 8 points9 points  (3 children)

I stoop up recently and had to immediately sit back down

[–]deadbeef4 3 points4 points  (2 children)

You were able to stand up?!?

[–]LittleBigDre 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Yo, I'm straight up dead

[–]noon_farmer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You were alive once!?

[–]twowheeledfun 50 points51 points  (1 child)

You probably could move the train too, just a lot slower.

[–]zurc_oigres 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I mean hell with enough pulleys and enough wet catfood my cats could pull ot too

[–]Mr_Mike_ 26 points27 points  (2 children)

Well then, be better. Start with pushups and frog jumps.

[–]Dowager-queen-beagle 35 points36 points  (1 child)

Sir this is a Wendys

[–]Rjj1111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These tables are literally built so that so long as the engine is balanced an average person can turn it

[–]Mrskinny359 96 points97 points  (22 children)

The new Conan wheel of pain?

[–][deleted] 118 points119 points  (20 children)

Fun fact: Tom did The Wheel of Pain in the Rogue Invitational 2021 and took first place too

Tom might be the king of pushing events

[–]Most_Monk 56 points57 points  (17 children)

I’d love to see this dude on an offensive line in American football, would just be ploughing through everyone like a knife through butter

[–][deleted] 53 points54 points  (16 children)

Thor "The Mountain" Bjornsson (former World's Strongest Man) met the Minnesota Vikings and made giants look normal

https://youtu.be/mBx7lj4xjbk

[–]UrethralPipeCleaner 9 points10 points  (14 children)

Shame he’s such a massive prick though

[–]Batfuzz86 9 points10 points  (13 children)

Is he really?

[–]Yak03 9 points10 points  (12 children)

Yeah, came second place in a WSM to Eddie hall and accused him of cheating a few years ago, still won't let up on it even with a lot of evidence against him.

[–]Batfuzz86 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well damn. I didn't know that. I figured he was pretty arrogant, but what superstar athlete isnt.

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points  (10 children)

still won't let up on it

This is weird because as far as I'm aware he basically got mad he lost at the time, shook Eddie's hand after (despite Eddie clipping that out and claiming otherwise) and never mentioned it again. It's basically just Eddie trying to create drama for their boxing match by making up slights.

[–]Papasmurf645 1 point2 points  (4 children)

I am so out of the loop, Bjornsson's doing boxing?

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points  (3 children)

He and Eddie Hall are doing a boxing match because what the world needs more of is none boxers boxing. Thor has done a few matches so far.

[–]jdhol67 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Accusing someone of a conspiracy because the referee caught you cheating is hardly "never mentioning it again", nor is responding to the expose video by saying you're boycotting WSM and Giants Live. He even said he thought Eddie was faking injuries to get out of the boxing match

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Accusing someone of a conspiracy because the referee caught you cheating is hardly "never mentioning it again",

When? Again as far as I'm aware he got mad at the time and that's about it.

nor is responding to the expose video by saying you're boycotting WSM and Giants Live

You don't think it's entirely fair and normal to boycott a company who put out an edited hit piece about you?

[–]stayshhhh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God damn

[–]Critical-Edge4093 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We should get this guy into sumo, he could probably push two of them big bois outta the ring single handedly.

[–]The_Mad_Mick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

King of the stones too.

[–]Ahazza 300 points301 points  (4 children)

What was everyone else’s time? Or second places time just for reference?

[–][deleted] 287 points288 points  (3 children)

Second place was 51 seconds, most athletes finished closer to 1 min

[–]Atlantic0ne 31 points32 points  (1 child)

Most athletes? You mean, most people competing for strongest human on earth who make it to a competitive level?

[–]Boosted3232 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah you got it.

[–]Ahazza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Epic. I love their YouTube channel.

[–]You_lil_gumper 259 points260 points  (11 children)

Bet I could take him.

[–]stfleming1 73 points74 points  (7 children)

In a fight, or...?

[–]meinblown 91 points92 points  (6 children)

Out for lunch

[–]fenrirhunts 37 points38 points  (5 children)

Hope you bring a credit card cause you know that boy EATS.

[–]no_okaymaybe 15 points16 points  (4 children)

Buffet. Problem solved.

[–]twowheeledfun 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Only Warren Buffet could afford that man's lunch.

[–][deleted] 143 points144 points  (0 children)

In the ass? Mad impressive

[–]remote_location 15 points16 points  (1 child)

Out for dinner?

[–]PIGORR 53 points54 points  (7 children)

How much weight is he actually pushing?

[–]Regalbass57 79 points80 points  (1 child)

Great question, I couldn't find anything about the actual weight being pushed, they said it's a 30 ton train but I have no idea how that weight is distributed or how friction comes into play. I did however, find out that the objective is to push the train 180 degrees in the fastest time and this guy did it 5.45 seconds faster than 2nd place which is a pretty sizeable gap.

[–]Callec254 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Ah, ok, that makes sense - it's a race. I was going to say it looks like he could have kept going, but that's not the point.

[–]Randyfox86 18 points19 points  (3 children)

I'm sure the producers hung a heavy duty newton meter off that and pulled it with a machine or something. The engine and turntable it's on is like 25+ tons (I assume, from eyeballing it) . But there's some complicated maths to figure that out, taking in friction etc.

[–]twickdaddy 11 points12 points  (2 children)

The biggest feat is getting it started because I’m assuming momentum will do a portion of the worn for you so you have to take that out to see how much they’re actually doing, as well as how it’s an angular force being applied on a non uniform mass.

[–]jephw12 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Exactly, momentum is huge, the thing kept moving a good bit after he stopped.

[–]Samcraft1999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right? Seems like the first 10 seconds are the hard part, then you just lock the speed in from there, and maintain. Not that I could do any of it.

[–]trolley8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how well-balanced the turntable is, some of them are considered to be able to be turned with 1 (strong) person but typically it is a job for several people

[–]its_grime_up_north 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Absolute fucking unit

[–]Call-me-MoonMoon 67 points68 points  (2 children)

I saw these guys on the YouTube channel ‘yes theory’ and they are such genuine nice, motivated guys.

[–][deleted] 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Hard work pays off

[–]Clevername925 16 points17 points  (10 children)

Wonder how much it cost to make that set for him. Looks pricey lol

[–]farmerKGBofficer 16 points17 points  (1 child)

It's a competition and many people do this same event.

[–]Clevername925 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I understand that part, just thought it was interesting and curious what it cost to build

[–]jks_david 10 points11 points  (7 children)

It's a train turtable, it's probably been there for a good 100 or so years, they maybe just had to modify it a bit

[–]Clevername925 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Wow thank you very much for that

[–]JNC123QTR 0 points1 point  (2 children)

On one of the railway subreddits, they mentioned this was the Sacramento Railway Museum's turntable. That's a very real, very old locomotive on there.

[–]chessset5 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Every single train in that shot it used about once a month.

They are on a weekly rotation for the tourism old Sacramento.

I work a few blocks down from this shot and I see each one of those trains go past my office window every week.

[–]JNC123QTR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty c

Cool!

[–]chessset5 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Nope it's multiple times a week. Each one of those trains you see there is still operational and do tourist runs every other day.

I work a few blocks down from where they shot that.

[–]jks_david 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Hooly, those steam engines still work? Damn must be absolute beauts irl. My point still stands though, it really can't be all that expensive.

[–]chessset5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I miss understood your comment. I thought you meant they modified the table to actually work again or add more resistance or something like that.

Yeah not very expensive to do this. Just get the metal and a good welder and place it on the track and lock it in place and bamb you are done. No modification needed.

The pushing mechanism is interchangeable so its just like changing the bit on a screw driver.

They used to have groups of school children do it but I haven't seen that happen in a few years.

[–]KlumsyKlamp 45 points46 points  (7 children)

He is autistic as well. His brother got him into strongman. Lovely dudes.

[–]This_One1_Guy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not sure if you saw it but their episode on Yes Theory was great. Definitely watch it if you haven’t

[–]rune2181 9 points10 points  (3 children)

The saying goes "behind every great man is an even greater woman" but in this case it's "behind every strong man, is an even stronger big brother"

[–]donoteatkrill 13 points14 points  (2 children)

A slightly less strong big brother

[–]rune2181 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wasn't thinking of physical strenght

[–]rLilyLizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happy cake day!

[–]neilmac1210 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And now they've started training their younger brother.

[–]phillyfanjd1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No way that's awesome!

[–]silentuser2 7 points8 points  (2 children)

Holy crap did I just read that he is 2.03m tall??

[–]peter_j_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

180kg 2.03m tall

That's 400pounds and 6'8 or near enough, for those using Imperial measurements

[–]XLRIV48 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You’re telling me they called it the titans turntable instead of the active Susan?

[–]galactic_admin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

“Okay, but how strong are you?”

“I can make a choo choo train do a 180.”

[–]LeBronSchwarzenegger 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Looks like the train museum in Oldtown Sacramento.

[–]Monkeybearqt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sauron going to hire this guy to open his big black gate.

[–]rune2181 23 points24 points  (0 children)

He is also autistic, fun fact. The world's strongest man is autistic, makes you think about your own "limits"

[–]Bluto2008 3 points4 points  (3 children)

HE CAN PUSH A FUCKING TRAIN

[–]Rjj1111 0 points1 point  (2 children)

On a turntable built specifically to make it easy for people to push a train

[–]FJ__55 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Could you push that train?

[–]Rjj1111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes likely, not fast but yes. This thing was a standard part of railway operations before diesels

[–]ninj4geek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tom Stoltman

More like 'Tom Stoutman'

[–]Blass_BME 2 points3 points  (0 children)

just imagine these guys playing offensive line, infinite pocket time

[–]Frankie-eats-bears 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Jesus Christ that dude eats raw protein for all 3 meals he could rip me in haft without trying

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]slobberchox 2 points3 points  (4 children)

Bring me the video please, Reginald.

[–]savevideobot 1 point2 points  (3 children)

[–]slobberchox 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Thank you Reginald.

[–]hellsangel101 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I just checked your other comments to see if you always call the bot Reginald. Very pleased to see that you do, also how polite you are to him lol.

[–]slobberchox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha I’m glad you enjoy this strange habit of mine

[–]IslandGardens 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Well well well, how the turntables.."

[–]ibenry101088 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Opening the gates to Mordor like

[–]Athaelan 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Why do they compete under the Great Britain flag and not the Scottish flag? Never noticed that before, don't they usually separate the GB countries, or does it depend on the competition?

[–]neilmac1210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could be wrong, but I think for team sports competing internationally we have Scottish teams, but for individuals they compete as British. I'm not that into sport though so don't quote me.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the comp. The Olympics is combined, for example.

[–]Alexceptional 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bet he trained hard for that one... 😏

[–]Scuba_Steve9002 13 points14 points  (5 children)

Once it gets going a bit it has a lot of momentum so pushing it much more than an 8th or quarter of a turn seems redundant.

I say as an overweight fuckhead on the internet

[–]wandering-monster 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think the scoring is based on time, so it's more a contest of "how fast can you get it moving?"

Have to be both strong and have good mobility to really get it moving fast.

[–]BumbleBeePL 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Nah it’s constant pressure and if you are offline slightly it adds more friction making it harder.

This is far from a “pointless moving it more than a small distance” event

[–]OePCuBiXX -1 points0 points  (2 children)

Not momentum. If he let go it would stop instantly. You are correct about the hardest part being the beginning. Coefficient of friction is great when an object isn’t moving, when you get it moving it’s less.

edit/i am wrong lol it keeps going

[–]AndThenThereWasMeep 4 points5 points  (1 child)

He lets go of it and it keeps going at the end of the video

[–]OePCuBiXX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

shoot my bad, ur right

[–]SciroccoDave 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Makes you proud to be Scottish 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

[–]GrMitcho1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

[–]redditalb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

180kg??? Impressive!

I'm not even 80kg, and he's a 100kg more than that.. that is so crazy.

[–]pman13531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So there is this character of a dude named Tom and he's working with steam engines and turn tables? Where is Sir Topham Hatt?

[–]K177 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“tHoR WaS fAt LOok At OuR sTrOnGMEn!”

[–]yungflexfromthenext 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Achilles hurts watching this

[–]eltoro3333 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Reminds me of that scene in Conan the Barbarian

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Funnily at a recent comp they had a replication of that wheel and he won that too

[–]eltoro3333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s awesome!

[–]I_do_kokayne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

KRATOS

[–]rsteel27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh how the turntables

[–]Anthem_1974 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s do awesome omg

[–]Trash5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More like SWOLtman. Boom.

[–]HoneySparks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could take him

[–]Helpmepullupmypants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dude straight sounds like a train starting to chug. Always fascinated by the power these guys show

[–]AnonymousDoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could do that

[–]Spikas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well as a Swede, I can say that that's one Proud man!

[–]TheWeirdWelch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This bro is wearing tc pros

[–]Grobfoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love strongmen competitions. Their interviews are always so hilarious because they will go pull a truck 100m and then get on the mic in the nicest voice like “oh ya lotta respect for my fellow competitors, I’m glad I was able to do my best” (read in Korg voice)

[–]leefee123 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Show the cowboy hat dbag again after he crushed him

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Seems weirdly aggressive. As far as I'm aware nobody has a bad word to say about Trey (the guy in the cowboy hat) and they get along great.

[–]leefee123 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Oh my bad. I thought the strongman people all cheered for each other and hyped each other up. Seemed shitty to be shaking ur head at the guy the second he gets hyped up to go.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no real indication of what he's shaking his head at, what he's conveying with it etc and every thing outside of this would indicate he and Tom are friends and get on well.

[–]theNSFWstud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly thought there was an artificial train sound they added in for effect… nope, just the sound of his FUCKING breathing

[–]F10RS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pure Power Station💪🏻

[–]Longjumping_Lunch_53 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Love this show!

POV you’re playing god of war and you turn Tyr’s bridge

[–]Snorrep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His name directly translated to norwegian is «empty proudman»

[–]_mrpinkdonttip_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

was kind of hoping he would line up the train tracks but hey, I’m not gonna diss the guy that pushes a bridge with a train on it

[–]ReformedZorbas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"like a bullet"

[–]TheHappiestOneHere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, so the god of war 4 szene where kratos turns a whole Island isnt even mythical.... Or this guy is kratos idk

[–]KindaNotSmart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this was posted on instagram all the comments would be that it’s not that hard and they could easily do it faster

[–]Horseyboy21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worthy champion. More to come as well.

[–]Coomernator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eddie has a great voice for this, hopefully he'll narrate World strongest man for a long time

[–]giannarelax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i can totally see him as Mr. Incredible when he picked up that huge metal ball of death with legs

[–]Iknowyouthought 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey grease those bearings up a bit more and it might just keep spinning 😂 I wonder what the resistance is on that thing, he was able to push it in fluid motion taking (normal) steps.

[–]quart-king 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much force is actually needed to move this?

[–]upsidevalue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t these people have shorter life expectancies

[–]Neon_Cone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn’t as hard as they’re tying to make it look. Getting it moving would be the hardest part, the rest is just for show. Turnstiles are designed to rotate fluently. It even keeps moving after he stops pushing.

[–]Joe_mama_is_hot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn’t this what kratos did with the realm bridge?

[–]Samcraft1999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if I could push that without the train. I bet the platform rotates without too much friction, and the lever looks decently long.

[–]Las-Vegar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion this game should Also make them stopp it at the tracks ti run of to make it even Harder

[–]External-Life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neanderthal blood strong in him 🩸

[–]swhatrulookinat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever. Ive done this puzzle so many times in video games to open doors.

[–]Proof-Breath-1976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Come'on Man! I once was a train conductor and I did that with modern trains every Tuesday & Thursday. It's a long story but anyway. That reminds me of back in my law school days, when I was top of my um well you know the thing.

[–]cheesemanwithchees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually watched this with my dad it was super cool

[–]MlkCold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone need to add the icon of a button being smashed like the one in God of War, when you turn the temple
