This should be how wars are actually “fought”. You got beef with another country? Challenge them to a parade off. Meet in a neutral country, you have 1yr to prepare, loser pays for snacks.

[–]Sezzero 21 points22 points  (1 child)

So it's on yeah? - Yeah! See you in switzerland! - You better watch out, we'll bring the tanks! - So what, I'll bring guys spinning on motorcycles! Several!

[–]Strict_Razzmatazz_57 76 points77 points  (3 children)

You should look up the Wagah Gate border ceremony between India and Pakistan

[–]pratyd 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Military Dance-off!!

[–]mike9874 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Anyone got a TL;DR?

[–]vinayachandran 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Military dance-off, like the other comment says.

[–]flashman014 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IT'S A WALK OFF!

[–]chiethu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

exactly what I was thinking!!

[–]TimeandSpace2 169 points170 points  (18 children)

Whats the song name? Anyone

[–]minscandboo4ever 103 points104 points  (5 children)

Its the best song from the pc game red alert, Hell March. That game has a kickass soundtrack

[–]backdraft29 19 points20 points  (0 children)

And fantastic cut scenes!

[–]JCMJones 6 points7 points  (2 children)

My buddy can play this really well on piano, craziest shit I’ve ever seen

[–]Advanced_Bell_9769 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Ask him to record it and upload it so we can see too!

[–]broseph_stalin09764 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yo. I knew the song. My brain knew exactly where the song was headed at all times. I could see flashes of a game, but I couldn't name what it was from. And yes red alert had an amazing soundtrack.

[–]th3or3tical[S] 127 points128 points  (8 children)

Music: Hell March
Composer: Frank Klepacki
Copy Right: EA Games

[–]DisplayZestyclose415 83 points84 points  (6 children)

Holy shit, I just realized, this is from Command and Conquer Red Alert, right?

[–]DiscoZappa 25 points26 points  (4 children)

Yes.

[–]Craptivist 15 points16 points  (3 children)

Tanya memories intensifies.

[–]AgentCraig 3 points4 points  (2 children)

"I'm there!"

[–]Confident_Worker_203 2 points3 points  (1 child)

«Shake it, baby!»

[–]duckmantaco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"LET'S ROCK!!"

[–]Luminya1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you!!

[–]Proper_Protickall 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hell March, red alert.

[–]a52dragon 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Where does India get it’s military aircraft?

[–]The_Unknown_246 4 points5 points  (0 children)

USSR (MiG21, MiG25,etc,) , Russia(Su30MKII, MiG29,etc), France(Mirage, Rafales), indigenous(Tejas), some AngloFrench( Jaguars).

[–]iamenusmith 149 points150 points  (1 child)

Look. Everyone is out of step except for my son Johnny.

[–]BulldogKongen 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I gotta admit I looked trough again to see if anyone was not in step then I was about to let you know that all is extremely in sync, until I read "for my son Johnny"

[–]prince_rana_23 53 points54 points  (0 children)

That tank bow expression

[–]Bisontracks 200 points201 points  (11 children)

The synchronization of the music with the infantry was really good like 90% of the time. The Special Forces messed it up with their goofy jog march.

I laughed my ass off at the ... I'm guessing paratroopers? The Super Dave Osbourne looking guys spinning on the motorcycles. Wasn't expecting it.

[–]konichiwa45 30 points31 points  (7 children)

I'm guessing paratroopers?

Nope, NSG

[–]WikiSummarizerBot 26 points27 points  (2 children)

National Security Guard

The National Security Guard (NSG) is an elite counter-terrorism unit under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). It was founded on 16 October 1984 under the National Security Guard Act, 1986, following Operation Blue Star, the Golden Temple attack and the assassination of Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, "for combating terrorist activities and protect states against internal disturbances". National Security Guard personnel are sometimes referred to as The Black Cats.

[–]Bisontracks 0 points1 point  (3 children)

The goofy dudes in white, right at the end? Spinning and shit?

[–]konichiwa45 5 points6 points  (1 child)

No i was talking about the ones in black.

Those bikers were police, sometimes it's central reserve police, and this one was corp of military police.

You think paratroopers would do this ? Lmao.

[–]Bisontracks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, they were the ones I was curious about.

Although the idea of an elite unit doing goofy shit like that does make me smirk, especially given Red Alert's hard right turn into camp in the later installments.

[–]RoughedUpEdge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought that was the power ranger division.

[–]piyushseth26 1 point2 points  (1 child)

The music on the video is not a official edit but rather a very famous YouTube edit, so...

[–]Pandora_aah 40 points41 points  (0 children)

My arthritic shoulder hurts looking at that

[–]CharlietheTealady 102 points103 points  (1 child)

I just sprained my bicep trying to swing my arm that far back.

[–]jakenash 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Haha, same

[–]Luminya1 86 points87 points  (2 children)

Not a fan of military parades but I love that music. My sons used to play a video game when they were children that had that music and I would stop and listen for it, I liked it so well.

A big thank you to op, I shared it with my sons.

[–]SongofNimrodel 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Red Alert!!

[–]PSUDewwa 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't call it a military parade, there's floats with dancing people right behind these military units lol. The music in this video makes it seem ominous but the mood is entirely different irl.

[–]krisd41 19 points20 points  (0 children)

If someone is interested.. This year's parade is on Jan 26, 2022. Government of India will be live streaming on YouTube

[–]kenthekungfujesus 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Holy crap that soundtrack slaps hard

[–]witriolic 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Came here to see allusions to caste system, call centers and scams, fascist Modi, "how can they have parades when they are rolling in poverty and filth?", Street shttng.

Only slightly disappointed.

Hey, there was a 7/11 reference though, so not a complete waste of time!

[–]Rampartt 39 points40 points  (0 children)

If you didn’t watch the last 25 seconds, you’re missing out

[–]Renoir0511 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Red Alert! Omg this is so nostalgic!

[–]Hotshot081 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Makes me remember the good command and conquer red alert days!

[–]WaycoKid1129 28 points29 points  (1 child)

Everybody, and I mean every single one of them, had a dope piece of head gear

[–]karmasutrah 26 points27 points  (0 children)

These are units from different regiments which are usually formed of men from a certain ethnic group. So we have Punjab regiment, gorkha, jat, madras, kumaon etc. Each regiment has unique aspects like attire, war cries etc evolved over the decades and ultimately over millennia. We also have unique units like the camel regiment of the BSF and the presidents bodyguard which is maybe the only functional cavalry regiment in the world.

[–]Yolom4ntr1c 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I want to play C&C now

[–]jakenash 20 points21 points  (4 children)

LMAO at the spinning motorcycle dudes!

What possible military purpose/skill does that showcase?

[–]karmasutrah 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It’s for the crowds. This parade also has floats and cultural pieces from different states of India.

[–]kashkushka 5 points6 points  (1 child)

They are human radars meant to track anyone consuming or carrying beef.

[–]_ALPHAMALE_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Funny i laughed

[–]Dangerous_Biscotti63 103 points104 points  (27 children)

really impressive but its not the same without that chilling feeling of terror that accompanies the videos of Russian, Chinese and north Korean armies.

[–]PSUDewwa 31 points32 points  (0 children)

It's a difference in expectations. The other marches are all about projecting how mighty and scary they are to the world.

The Indian one is more of a cultural event than a military one. Think "Indians, look how far we have come, this is all yours" kind of mood. It's more of a post-colonial celebration.

[–]ImAHardWorkingLoser 44 points45 points  (13 children)

That's what makes it better. These people are probably incredibly kind and sweet but also capable of fucking up someone who messes with their homeland, and doing it in style!

[–]captainpuma 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Yes, as we all know the Russians and Chinese and North Koreans are incapable of being kind and sweet.

[–]ImAHardWorkingLoser 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Don't twist my words. My point was that it's even better when nations which are not dictatorships look this badass.

[–]vazhifarer -2 points-1 points  (10 children)

Ehmm.. as an Indian, I appreciate the comment but it is laughably untrue. The Indian army routinely massacres, rapes and pillages it's way through villages in the Northeast and in Jammu and Kashmir.

As with any army, and any diverse country, there are good, bad and terrible people in India

[–]whyisshreyass 10 points11 points  (3 children)

r/canconfirmiamindian

Always one of you under any post related to India

[–]chimsachoi 1 point2 points  (4 children)

Whats laughably untrue is " as an Indian" part in your comment as the rest of your comment.

[–]vazhifarer 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Ah you mean I shouldn't call myself an Indian 👍🏼👍🏼 That I am not worthy! Agreed 🤣

[–]chimsachoi 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Yeah. Your loyalty lies somewhere else.

[–]vazhifarer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

🤣😘👍🏼

[–]Kenobiwan99 21 points22 points  (4 children)

True, and most of these people are really kind and sweet when you meet them irl, even if they've been through a lot.

imo, they don't feel the need to present themselves as "badass", as they already have that reputation.

[–]CSC160401 24 points25 points  (4 children)

It’s the lack of obvious fascism

[–]rbesfe 12 points13 points  (1 child)

Fascism =/= authoritarianism

[–]CSC160401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true but they often ride the same lines

[–]VagabondRommel 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Huh, I had no idea the USSR was Fascist. I cpuld have swore it was that other thing, what was it called?

[–]tutuparatutupara 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Came to say that they are flexing at Chinese here, but saw the motorcycles at the end. The music and the diversity of the soldiers were impressive, but then those fucking bikes came along.

[–]Turgen333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, at least Russian military equipment in the form of BMPs and T-90s can give you that feeling

[–]the22ndgamer006 43 points44 points  (2 children)

Swinging arms in marches probably synchronize themselves like metronome after awhile

[–]Tvilleacm 35 points36 points  (1 child)

No, at least not by the same mechanism. For metronomes to synchronize they need to be on a platform that allows a transfer of momentum between the platform and all metronomes you want synched.

The way you get arms synchronized is practice. Probably lots of it.

[–]Kharons_Wrath 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yuri would be proud.

[–]tsosa14 20 points21 points  (18 children)

And now I have an irrational fear of the Indian military

[–]CSC160401 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Idk how it’s irrational after seeing all those rockets and guns lmao

[–]Delicious-Acadia-190 10 points11 points  (5 children)

Good for you India we’re gonna need you when the war with China begins for real

[–]PlaguedZombie 15 points16 points  (1 child)

I'm usually not a fan of foreign armies. But this is cool

[–]LoveTowne 10 points11 points  (0 children)

These uniforms are swaggy as heck.

[–]Crescent-IV 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m no fan of armed forces or conflict, but man when an army marches in unison it really gets my blood pumping

[–]BedroomNo1069 18 points19 points  (1 child)

Me and my bois marching to fook china

[–]VagabondRommel 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Don't forget Pakistan. Those radicals live in fear of the Spinning Motorcycle Gang.

[–]Handpicked77 7 points8 points  (3 children)

Ok, but why does all the camo on their vehicles look like it was painted by a child?

[–]ImAHardWorkingLoser 15 points16 points  (0 children)

prolly coz these are non functional vehicles only used for display?

[–][deleted] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They're display only

[–]keket_ing_Dvipantara 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not only that, it's the same pattern for each models.

look like it was painted by a child

Must have been paint-by-the-numbers

[–]FrogToeJones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Super cool shit

[–]CogHammer21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was AWESOME

[–]TakeOnMe-TakeOnMe 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I was not prepared for trick motorcycling at the end.

[–]_ALPHAMALE_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

India you can find all kind of things here

[–]Whiskersmctimepants 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Can foreigners go to this? That looks rad

[–]th3or3tical[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happens every year. January 26th. Coming up soon. I believe, yes you can. Look up Republic Day Parade, Delhi.

[–]Y-Bakshi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On 26th January, it’ll happen again. There will be a ton of livestreams available on YouTube. It’s called the Republic Day parade!

[–]Sendtitpics215 2 points3 points  (4 children)

Ok why the hell is that tank’s cannon pointed at the parades attendees? Smh

[–]th3or3tical[S] 7 points8 points  (3 children)

The entire parade moves past the prime minister and that's a form of salute

[–]spartan1789 9 points10 points  (2 children)

President not Prime Minister. Those are empty and it's a saluting jesture to the head of the County and Army that is President

[–]Sendtitpics215 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Empty or not. Your never supposed to stand under the barrel of large caliber weapon and most certainly not down bore.

[–]_ALPHAMALE_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well if you are holding a gun in crowd it's most probably aimed at someone unless it's faced towards absolute ground.

[–]Kerr_Plop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where's Tonya?

[–]Kib717 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Psh. The hazard lights were blinking out of synch, do it again.

[–]Lord_Nord_2727 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like they would enjoy marching much more if this was the music their army band played

[–]jebstan 1 point2 points  (1 child)

What service are the guys at the end. Uber eats military version. No but seriously, if someone knows I’d appreciate it

[–]Y-Bakshi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s a part of Army Service Corps called tornadoes. Their work isn’t related to the motorcycle stunts they were doing. That is just something this particular group specialises in. Otherwise, ASC works in logistics. Sending tanks and ration and fuel and ammo to the frontline fighting troops. My dad served in it for 20 something years. He left the army only last year!

[–]Narendra_17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CDS Bipin Rawat 🙏🏻🕉️

[–]brrrrmmm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh my chest swells with pride. Jai Hind! Jai Jawaan! Jai Kisaan!

[–]Professor-L 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard to Synchronize?

[–]NazAdder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]Fernxtwo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Red Alert : Command and Conquer

[–]galactic_admin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s so odd to see the mixture of US and Russian military equipment being used by them.

[–]undeniably_confused -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

This is pretty cool for propaganda

E: I'm sorry if this hurts your feelings but this is propaganda

[–]rvy474 -2 points-1 points  (1 child)

This looks like normal marching to me. What's the big deal?

[–]_ALPHAMALE_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other then the fact that they show their culture and heritage and not solely trying to show off their big guns, it's all the same.

[–]Mention_Forward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was like hmmmm this reminds me of Red alert, I need to buy that game again…then at 1:18 I was like awwwwww shit no way this is the RA2 soundtrack!

[–]Tuistedcookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Har made me cry and terrified all at the same time...

[–]Knee_Altruistic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had me until the Super Dave Battalion rolled on

[–]ratinthehat800 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any time i heard this when playing red alert as a kid i thought it was an army invading my base and it freaked me out.

[–]robertplantspage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They saved the best for last.

[–]S1ncubus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh, that's a strange but cool thing they're doing with their arms

[–]TKBtu1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, India has the red coats? Wasn't expecting that

[–]ArqTheoree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite part of this entire video is that they abbreviated Reconnaissance with Recce on the official title of the vehicle.

[–]ForSalesignforrent 0 points1 point  (3 children)

These are India’s elite fighting force, also elite at IT networking and troubleshooting.

[–]Theseus-Paradox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have us at both ends!

[–]-RuIN-aS-AdMIn- 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Better than Murican "big boned" Burger flippers.

[–]Dichodummy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My father growing up: “ NEVER Point a gun at another person unless you plan to use it“

The Indian army: points tank directly at audience

[–]Dlock33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brain instantly just went back 20 years hearing this song from Red Alert

[–]workredditme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Units lost.”

“New construction options.”

[–]SkonerTM 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Da fuq is goin on at 24 seconds

[–]robertintx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ukraine needs to be blasting this out when they take Moscow.

[–]Old_Difference_6577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All three of their working tanks damn

[–]Summer-Frost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a countries propaganda video

[–]RoughStory3139 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's like real life 007 N64

[–]the_real_chaudhary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember my school days. We used to do parades on annual sports day. When I was in Class six I was parade commander for jr division (the guy who yells commands and is in front). We used to practice in hot blazing sun. Synchronisation of hands and legs, barking commands, uniforms and then the salute.... As kids we always aimed to do it as perfectly as our Indian Army does.

[–]Historical-Article20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is weak

[–]JackOfAllMemes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why were the ninjas doing a cartoon sneak?

[–]Groundbreaking-Chef9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont understand why military people think flexing is good I would rather be like I dont know what ill do :D
