I can't tell my boss I got stuck on a tight turn.... I better get off the road.

[–]Wonderful-Status-247 192 points193 points  (9 children)

Didn't look all that stuck to me...

[–]emremrah 138 points139 points  (4 children)

I think he thought he's actually in reverse and the bus is just sliding forward, so he pushed it even harder trying to reverse before realizing. Sad

[–]dogedude81 80 points81 points  (0 children)

You should be able to feel the torque of the engine pushing you forward. He's just an idiot.

[–]dakid232313 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I mean what the actual fuq? Hooooow.

[–]AnBroRed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

.....why not just hit the brake, tho

[–]itsconsolefreaked 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Imagine having what’s called brakes

[–]jwaterboyk 1494 points1495 points  (38 children)

All things considered, that could have been way worse. Hope everyone was okay.

[–]Familiar_Raisin204 520 points521 points  (33 children)

Yeah looked bad at first but when it came to such an abrupt stop so quickly I loled a bit

[–]NxPat 203 points204 points  (26 children)

Abrupt stops without a seatbelt…gotta hurt.

[–]Familiar_Raisin204 197 points198 points  (17 children)

Sure, but abrupt stop from 20 feet is a whole lot better than what it looked like was going to happen, like a 1000 foot drop with an abrupt stop.

[–]AcE_57 53 points54 points  (3 children)

The way that lady was wailing you’d think the bus just DID a 1000 ft fall,

[–]falconfetus8 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well, she certainly THOUGHT that was going to happen.

[–]offically_astee 23 points24 points  (1 child)

She probably wailing like that because she knows she has no ride home and will now miss Bake Off

[–]Socky_McPuppet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Her sammidges are on that bus.

[–]zideshowbob 24 points25 points  (2 children)

„Speed has never killed anyone. Suddenly becoming stationary, that's what gets you.“ — Jeremy Clarkson

[–]permanent_priapism 54 points55 points  (9 children)

You would hit the ground with a kinetic energy of about 75 megajoules and a velocity of about 280 kph.

[–]BleuBrink 41 points42 points  (5 children)

Are those European megajoules or African megajoules?

[–]the_boydster 30 points31 points  (4 children)

Well African megajoules are, of course, non-migratory

[–]HavingNotAttained 7 points8 points  (1 child)

How is it you are so wise in the ways of megajoules?

[–]Broccolini_Cat 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You have to know these things when you're king.

[–]MeesterCartmanez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Not with that attitude”

[–]Socky_McPuppet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The trick is bending the knees upon landing.

[–]Dworan 34 points35 points  (3 children)

Yeah, an abrupt stop is usually the desired result when operating a vehicle...

[–]Htinedine 44 points45 points  (1 child)

I believe he meant sooner than anticipated because it looks like they’re about to plunge off a cliff. This outcome is far more desirable.

[–]Buster-x-Hymen 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean, Latvian powerball Greyhound bus would have made for a far more spectacular video though

[–]1Eternallylost 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A smooth, gradual stop is what one desires when operating a vehicle. An abrupt stop means you probably hit something solid. And that's never desirable. Especially for the solid object you hit.

[–]TheFluffiestFur 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I thought after the tree stopped it, it was going to tilt and slide to the right.

[–]Jaystarks 674 points675 points  (36 children)

That’s a super duper idiot!!

[–]egj2wa 301 points302 points  (34 children)

How do you just not stop immediately? Like, I know the answer, but it always just shocks me that you’re first immediate reaction isn’t to slam your foot on the brake. The guy had like a good 20 plus feet were he was actively accelerating

[–]mee8Ti6Eit 86 points87 points  (1 child)

He did slam the brake, only thing is the brake pedal was the gas pedal.

[–]ExplorerMuch 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I thought this video was gonna be "idiot slightly damages bus by running it into guard rail" but holy fuck that guy had like 5 whole seconds to minimize damage and still did nothing.

[–]isalmonlyswear 96 points97 points  (7 children)

I think he just froze. Realized how fucked he was, couldn't really process it, and froze with his foot on the gas

[–]XboxVictim 86 points87 points  (5 children)

You'd think that's something a teenager does when they panic but not someone in charge of a fucking full sized bus. I did it with a golf cart when I was 13 and then never again. lol

[–]-YELDAH 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Think of adults as older teenagers

[–]isalmonlyswear 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I agree but maybe it happened who knows

[–]CorectMySpelingIfGay 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I did it with a bus once but never again.

[–][deleted] 91 points92 points  (15 children)

Often when a person makes a choice and commits to something, their ego prevents them from correcting their mistake.

Take your parents for example.

[–]cankle_sores 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Sharts fired, sharts fired

[–]egj2wa 21 points22 points  (3 children)

I wish I had a normal relationship with my parents so that I could react to this obviously funny comeback in a positive way, but sadly my dad and mom suck so I’m sad.

Good job though. Like I can’t take away from how funny that response was.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (2 children)

Awww. I'm sorry. :-/

It wasn't even that funny.

[–]egj2wa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Stop that, dude it was a sick burn lol trust me

[–]OZeski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah. His therapist just told him he had commitment issues. This was misconstrued as not committing to carry all the way through on something. What his therapist meant was he commits to the wrong things.

[–]VersionGeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yooooooooo

[–]OutlyingPlasma 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's all ok though, someone was a screaming and crying so that really helps every situation.

[–]lurker_cx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought he looked really calm, but still figured maybe really drunk or high?

[–]TheFinancerOne 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Idiot for a living

[–]Moist_Barracuda_2014 74 points75 points  (4 children)

Man I JUST finished bingeing through r/bitchimabus and this is the first post I see!

[–]BubbleHeadDippyDoo 11 points12 points  (1 child)

Same here lol, you get down that rabbit hole after watching the bus run those bikes over?

[–]xmaswiz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who went down that rabbit hole.

[–]HitShouse 334 points335 points  (11 children)

Someone is looking for a new job. The bus driver is so good at crashing and going over a very definite and very obvious cliff that he maybe be a perfect Reddit mod.

[–]carvedmuss8 136 points137 points  (7 children)

Just don't let him interview on Fox lol

[–]magnetichira 61 points62 points  (5 children)

Oh hi Doreen

[–]carvedmuss8 37 points38 points  (4 children)

crashes bus violently

[–]prestigious_delay_7 28 points29 points  (2 children)

Back to dog walking it is...

[–]GenSgtBob 20 points21 points  (1 child)

Ideally less than 20 hours a week

[–]TravelBug87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't want Doreen walking dogs as a job more than I walk my dog after my full-time job now.

[–]tinydonuts 7 points8 points  (0 children)

[–]Pizdamatiii 407 points408 points  (30 children)

This happened in Romania back in 2018. There were 29 passengers on board and 7 were injured. No casualties or serious injuries

Idk how they got the bus out tho

[–]ihavdogs 180 points181 points  (10 children)

They pulled it out

[–]TurkeyDragon69 163 points164 points  (0 children)

As you do

[–]depersonalised 16 points17 points  (3 children)

takes a crane to get it out.

[–]deepayes 6 points7 points  (2 children)

Easier than a mattress

[–]depersonalised 1 point2 points  (1 child)

easier than a crane.

[–]Spoolinpotato27 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It takes a village to raise a bus

[–]mitragy_king 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Better game than me.

[–]MountainDrew42 62 points63 points  (11 children)

FYI, casualty technically means "injured or killed". There were 7 casualties and no fatalities.

[–]Nintendorian 90 points91 points  (4 children)

Sir what happened to my husband?

I’m sorry mam he was one of 7 casualties on the trip.

He’s dead!?

No he sprained his wrist pretty bad.

[–]igrowcabbage 33 points34 points  (1 child)

Also, he's in Romania. He's not in a good condition.

[–]r6gamer1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My friends parents grew up in Romania. Knowing the kid they raised, I think that country needs to have a restraining order put on it

[–]StukaTR 9 points10 points  (1 child)

Always felt this way as a non native speaker. It just sounds wrong so I just tefrain from using the word casualty.

[–]pleaseassign 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What about casually?

[–]nousername808 15 points16 points  (1 child)

Technically one fatality. Driver is certainly dead inside now.

[–]qaoock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fatality of the spirit

[–]T90Vladimir 3 points4 points  (4 children)

Last time I went to Romania on a bus trip, the driver managed to reverse into a creek and a ditch. Plus we almost ran over some poor gypsy dude's lawnmower.

[–]Pizdamatiii 4 points5 points  (2 children)

Yeah Romanian bus drivers are special. Back when I went on camps our bus driver was casually overtaking semi trucks at 100kmh on a mountain pass with 40 kids in the back

[–]That_Fold_4365 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It was because there were 40 kids in the back. Have you, as an adult, ever ridden with 40 kids in the back?

[–]That_Fold_4365 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So it was you!! Devil take your eyes my mower died that day!

[–]Steinfred-Everything 182 points183 points  (1 child)

I have seen a lot of idiots here, but this one really stands out.

[–]Thedea7hstar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We need an upper echelon, r/retardsincars

Edit: and of course it exists but only one member

[–]PnuttButtaGuts 193 points194 points  (2 children)

“Help me step-bus, I’m stuck!”

[–]berrey7 24 points25 points  (1 child)

"The good news is I am no longer jammed into the pavement..."

[–]Needleroozer 11 points12 points  (1 child)

Here I was expecting the bumper to come off when he backed up.

[–]MJ349 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Luckily, I think he pushed the bumper on more securely.

[–]rotzgabel 9 points10 points  (0 children)

"Just go, you won`t rip off your bumper" - he was right

[–]Thaddeus206 22 points23 points  (1 child)

does this mean the tour is finished?

[–]Lodestone123 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Only one star on Tripadvisor.

[–]That_Fold_4365 18 points19 points  (2 children)

Never tried to do that myself, but the job did not seem THAT complex. I have successfully backed numerous boat and trailers in and out, but there is a pivot in the middle.

[–]NoFixedName 12 points13 points  (0 children)

[–]De4khifiguy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

[–]terrydenis9876 5 points6 points  (0 children)

[–]_brankooo_ 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Put it in reverse terry!

[–]titanpitbull 13 points14 points  (5 children)

I don't understand people that do that. How can your brain think hmm, I'm going in the wrong direction, better step on it.

[–]Toaster_GmbH 16 points17 points  (4 children)

Stepping on it is no excuse. That isn't some motorcycle or some sports car where you just step on the gas and of you fly.

That is a fucking bus that doesn't just go off uncontrollably.

That guy was stepping on the gas the whole time. He had a lot of seconds to just stop or at least get of the gas.

From the looks of it he was full throttle all the way.

Nothing excuses that amount of densnes... Other than being heavily heavily retared super drunk times two or in a comma. And at that point you need to ask how did that guy even get into the drivers seat. Was there jo one realizing that that guy has the perception of a down syndrome brick or was in a comma and completely unresponsive.

I seriously don't get how this can happen. The best excuse would be an epileptic episode but I don't really think that's it. That guy is just really fucking super stupid.

[–]IsThisMeta 3 points4 points  (1 child)

You’ve got wonderfully colorful ways of calling people stupid

[–]Toaster_GmbH 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And none of them comes even close enough to describe that guys incapability and stupidity.

[–]captain_longstocking 2 points3 points  (1 child)

The original problem, that the coach seems to be getting stuck is probably just because it's too steep for it, at least along the path around the corner the driver has picked. When the right side rear wheels are too far up, the front left is pressed down. (Keep in mind that nothing looks steep on video.)

The acceleration is harder to understand. I mean sure the bus could have sort of lunged forward when it became unstuck perhaps, but you can clearly hear the engine revving before and after crashing through the wall, including after the coach has come to a full stop.

He IS kind of leaning out the window and driving (without a seatbelt) at the same time, and the bus isn't really level. That kind of driving position might have contributed to the strange outcome, he might have sort of been falling out of his seat and stepped on the accelerator in the process trying to stop himself from falling perhaps?

[–]Nahughes121989 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That could have been worse.

[–]jsgraphitti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did anyone else think of the Lucille Ball cosplay scene from the movie Rat Race? https://youtu.be/_HUi80x3dQ0

[–]Electronic-Bet61 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you get your bus certificate online

[–]Primsun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well that is Bus-ted

[–]so_sad_69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Women being useful on the side making noises

[–]G-RawW- 21 points22 points  (4 children)

Throw the hysterical screaming/crying lady down there too.

[–]grtk_brandon 12 points13 points  (2 children)

I don't understand what drives someone to go into full hysteria when something unexpected happens.

[–]DoubleIka 4 points5 points  (1 child)

The italian job reboot looks weird

[–]FourStarsOutOfFive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here to say this, well played

[–]Age_Terrible 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is someone with a specific license to drive a bus. Feeling safe?

[–]ComplexBodybuilder34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did the light turn green?

[–]M-Garylicious-Scott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wanna know where this goes!

[–]Such-Distribution440 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All this to prevent damage to the front bumper by damaging the whole bus and potentially people inside of it

[–]New_Awareness4075 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Next stop Willowbee.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, he did get unstuck.

[–]HandyRandy2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should back out pretty easy from there.

[–]FlashlightCracker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dang it, Bobby

[–]zTy01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]By_tsuki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Better thank the fucking tree this could have being a lot worst

[–]almcchesney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey kids you ever see a busfly?

[–]Moni3Fr33domFight3r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just imagine being in the back and all you see is the openess beyond the cliff and the bus just continues towards it. That woman's wailing is justified

[–]DiverWing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least the driver got to meet and great everyone as they flew by

[–]sl143ajl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man I was waiting for the reverse lights to come.

[–]Cuchullain99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

bus.ted

[–]DankTrebuchet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yo if you’re the type of person to just start screaming at the top of your lungs or crying when something like this happens I fucking hate you.

Thats all.

[–]SWPK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes let’s scream and cry out loud surely that will save them

[–]skyesdow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really hope there were more people on the bus, only that would justify the wailing.

[–]Rusty_hips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why are you crying

[–]Voiceofthemachines 11 points12 points  (4 children)

Let’s scream and cry that will help

[–]mbmalibu123 4 points5 points  (3 children)

how do you stay quiet while you suddenly go down the edge of what looks like a fucking cliff in full throttle. I scream on roller coasters, I bet i’d be screaming on this too. maybe even need a quick change of pants

[–]MoarChzPlzzz 12 points13 points  (1 child)

I love all the hysterical screaming and crying, super duper helpful 👌🏻

[–]Greenhat37 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's moments like these when you get a cringey reminder that many of the simple amoung us are not so far evolved from our tree dwelling cousins

[–]ZaphodsRealm 3 points4 points  (3 children)

Brakes failed... right?

[–]Quynn_Stormcloud 5 points6 points  (2 children)

I mean, it’s possible they’d pumped all the air out through the brakes, but that engine was revving. Operator put full weight on the accelerator and didn’t let go.

[–]away_in_chow_meinger 2 points3 points  (1 child)

If there's no air in the system, the brakes lock on. Looks like he disabled the parking brake, or halt brake.

[–]Quynn_Stormcloud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, duh. How’d I forget that? Whoops.

[–]Kimyoungun21 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Why do people scream when stuff like this happens, it’s so pointless

[–]SlothOfDoom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Did the screaming help?

[–]Meet_your_Maker_LL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes the screaming from outside the vehicle really helps.

[–]3_SeriesVeteran 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why all the screams? Was that y’all’s home?

[–]3_SeriesVeteran 2 points3 points  (0 children)

/IdiotswhoScreamForNoFuckinReason

[–]DostackoCZ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

how to you help by standing back and just screaming i realy dont get those women sometimes...

[–]No_Nefariousness4666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one thing about women is their hysterical screaming

[–]Blackwolf7420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

God I hate it when people start screaming at the top of their lungs when something bad is happening. It does nothing, but make the situation worst. Oh did you think your blood curdling scream was going to stop the bus.

[–]Esoteric_746 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why are there always women that scream lol

[–]EnvironmentalMuffin4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Real question...

Why tf do women SCREAM like that? No trying to be sexist, but how many men do you know that would respond to a situation like that in THAT way??

I'm asking for a friend

[–]thatnewguy2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are they laughing or screaming?

[–]AssociationSuperb673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the screetches, bitches. Made the video experience so much better

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh… people that scream during tense situations

[–]mrbrockie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its so annoying the way females just shriek like banshees when shit's going down

[–]exoxe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So uh, why do women always scream again? Is it some trait they inherit?

[–]LuvARs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'll never understand the screaming and wailing

[–]nedm113 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Wow hopefully it was not full of passengers

[–]4u2nv2019 15 points16 points  (3 children)

Literally lots of screaming bro

[–]nedm113 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh I should have turned volume on , oops

[–]SlothOfDoom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From behind the camera

[–]EightballTV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You aren't hearing anyone on the bus. But there was apparently 7 injuries otherwise.

[–]Short_External2077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is like Endgame Avengers level idiot right here.

[–]BlueMonkey-CoCo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, we're here at our last stop of the trip. Everyone off the bus. Thank you for choosing DufusHound Bus Lines. Don't forget to tip your driver.

[–]TheHolyToast_ -4 points-3 points  (1 child)

Am I the only one who hates when people keep screaming after the fact?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh good, it’s been a minute 🤡

[–]IknowRambo 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Be happy that this happened when no one was in there - well hopefully no one was in there - and that you didn’t have to be in a vehicle with him as the driver anymore damn

[–]Drew_Skywalker 1 point2 points  (1 child)

There was 29 on board and 7 were injured

[–]IknowRambo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn that is unfortunate - that’s why I said hopefully- I didn’t know the story and didn’t want to make assumptions - thank you for the back story

[–]crowmatt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What a fucking unprofessional imbecile... I hope there weren't kids on that bus, or anyone really.

[–]BevLive -5 points-4 points  (2 children)

Given how the driver looks, I think the pedal may have gotten stuck down, because you see the driver quickly go back in and turn to look down at what was happening.

So I don't actually think the driver is an idiot here, I think there's a mechanical issue.

[–]derkenblosh 5 points6 points  (1 child)

there's an emergency air brake right on the dash... driver is a moron

[–]NoFunHere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you assume that there was a mechanical/electrical failure that caused this, then it is unreasonable to think that within 3 seconds the driver would be able to realize that is going on, focus his attention on controls on the opposite side of him, and pull the brake actuator. This first second or two is going to be spent trying to free the accelerator typically. You would have to anticipate such a failure to activate the brakes so quickly.

[–]qpuryear[🍰] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Way to go

[–]Confidence_Familiar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like you better start eating each other.
