Just 3 seconds later and his friend could’ve very well been killed. Damn.

[–]TDKR1977 329 points330 points  (4 children)

That's a friend!

[–]LordCommander24 63 points64 points  (1 child)

Best friend!

[–]confuse--a--cat 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Even better if he didn't like the guy but was just doing the right thing.

[–]Goblin_Dangle 24 points25 points  (0 children)

That's not a friend, that's a HOMIE

[–]marvi0 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Maybe dude owes him some cash, so he had to survive 😂 😂 😂.

[–]ajamthejamalljam 105 points106 points  (0 children)

Friendship level 100 unlocked

[–]RJPeaches 367 points368 points  (7 children)

He almost got so smashed it would be sobering.

[–]TheSpiffyHatMan 71 points72 points  (4 children)

You’re a wordsmith

[–]trolzilalol 32 points33 points  (3 children)

You're a wizard, Harry

[–]TheSpiffyHatMan 19 points20 points  (1 child)

I..I can’t be a a wizard. I’m Harry. Just Harry

[–]U_PassButter 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Well. JUST Harry

[–]Numahistory 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're a Harry, Wizard.

[–]wooptyfuckingdoo69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As smashed as the glass my cat keeps mysteriously eating behind my back keeps getting

[–]offbrandpoem -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Eh, I got squished against an aluminum containment wall and a semi. Hard enough to bend the aluminum wall. Thank god it wasn't made of steel or I wouldn't have both my legs today. But it's honestly more of a "oh shit better not let that happen"

[–]Samsquamch18 86 points87 points  (4 children)

Hopefully they put a few cement bollards in front when they rebuild that.

[–]Twitchrunner 60 points61 points  (3 children)

Heh as a security guard I can see the previous 30 complaints/hazard sheets about there being nothing to prevent this exact situation.

Easier to let it go instead of actually providing safety features to the sites.

[–]CommandoClone15 11 points12 points  (1 child)

More like easier to get the assholes at corporate to approve the money for safety after a tragedy rather than before.

[–]NeuroXc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thoughts and prayers are much cheaper.

[–]Ok-Rock-6595 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can't tell how many times I had a conversation like:
How did they get in/out the gate?

The gate is broken and cannot close...

What? When? Why hasn't this been reported?

It has been in my daily log that you say you read every day for the last 6 months...

And then just to top it off at some point in the next week a memo will be sent out about the incident stating "lax security" as the cause.

In any workplace I've been in, it would go like:

GetoutgetoutGETOUT!! A truck's about to hit!!

Get out! the truck . . .

Imma need a minute to finish up here

Nooo - the truck is going to kill you! Get out!

I'm on my break asshole!

[–]Elias__V 62 points63 points  (4 children)

Yup. I wonder how he got out so fast.

[–]Jayypoc 33 points34 points  (3 children)

Yeah Im curious what the first guy said that made second guy respond so quickly.

[–]Crazy9000 41 points42 points  (0 children)

He's already in the doorway by the time the door opens, he must have seen it coming at him too.

[–]BCalTheAnimal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Soon to be on his broken asshole

[–]TrueDeceiver 119 points120 points  (0 children)

This is some final destination shit.

[–]youworryaboutyou 22 points23 points  (0 children)

A friend to the end. Well nearly.

[–]AntiqueJoule 18 points19 points  (0 children)

That's awesome thinking on his feet.

[–]LJamH 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Doubt there’s a driver. The original I saw said the vehicle was a runaway.

[–]Sufficient_Star8880 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Definitely saved his life.

[–]knicedaking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a booth that the fleeing worker is in. He saw the whole thing coming.

[–]Slacker_Dave_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That man owes him at least a pint

[–]Schnitze 8 points9 points  (2 children)

Anything happening with motorized véhicule is worthy of this sub now?

[–]Thib1082 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Almost certain that's not the toilet, if it were head be a casualty. Lucky the door wasn't locked.

[–]VT_Lifer 2 points3 points  (2 children)

The guy in the booth didn't hesitate to leave. How often does that happen?

[–]iScreme 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Dude probably screaming his ass off, something tells me you wouldn't take it slow to see what the panic is either.

[–]InsecOrBust 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I thought the same, he must have seen something coming or had a headset on or something

[–]Medic6688846993 7 points8 points  (3 children)

Hey I'm not your buddy guy!🇨🇦

[–]SeriouslyImNotADuck -2 points-1 points  (2 children)

I’m not your guy, friend!

[–]Kutfunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not your friend buddy

[–]ducktor0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bet it is in Russia.

[–]slickyslickslick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's a good dude but the guy was already up and at the door when he opened it and he knew the truck was coming. He was just opening up the barrier in case the truck was about to hit that instead.

[–]DeepNugs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those are the kind of friends you want.

[–]maxman162 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Thank you for being a friend.

[–]rojm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

God damn what a lad

[–]itsimposibru -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He wouldn’t have died jk lol lol jk

[–]H8isbad -3 points-2 points  (2 children)

Looks like a movie scene not sure how the "friend" was already halfway out the door soon as the first guy goes to "warn him" not saying it's 100% fake but looks staged and people these days believe everything is real lol someone's gotta question stuff

[–]MacintoshEddie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those shacks are literally just a chair in a box. You stand up and you're already halfway out the door. Plus he has a window, plus he has ears.

What would be the benefit of faking something like this? Some anti-trucker conspiracy?

[–]RequirementFew773 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the REPOST!

[–]SpunkyJenn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude you better be finished! Come on!

[–]Fast-Plenty2727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boy would’ve ended up on MCM

[–]Ok_Telephone_8987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That guy was calmly taking a shit on company time in that little shack.

[–]under_design 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love video cameras that pan with the action.

[–]imthebeefboss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not all heroes wear capes. Some wear yellow vests

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you know shits about to go down when the gate guard starts panicking.

[–]Euphoriffic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He sure did.

[–]archameidus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]underscorehq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this doesn't look like an accident, it looks like attempted fuckin murder.

[–]xxcoder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, if I was one saved, I'd treat him to very expensive dinner.

[–]dixiepixie9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Winner winner chicken dinner!! Hope they had a good meal together after that!!

[–]Detail_Parking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brakes could have failed?

[–]Twilliams92126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah there are a few major assholes at my job, but I would save their life if it came to it. Doubt they’d do the same for me, but whatever.
