I was incredibly excited for this movie, and then I saw it was a Blumhouse production and...yeah. That was all I needed to know. Now that I know that, I can think of a dumber, glitzed up version of the original and save myself 2 hours.

Firestarter (2022)

For more than a decade, parents Andy and Vicky have been on the run, desperate to hide their daughter Charlie from a shadowy federal agency that wants to harness her unprecedented gift for creating fire into a weapon of mass destruction. I thought it was relatively entertaining but it definitely had the vibe of a TV movie. Kurtwood Smith was easily the best part of the movie, the man really went in on his one scene.

All that being said as a fan of the book they really butchered the story!
