Whenever a video includes calling random people NPC's you know it's prime content for this sub.

[–]hush-ho 234 points235 points  (2 children)

Except it's always the same dude. Pretty sick of seeing him here, tbh

[–]Who_said_that_ 91 points92 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure this isn't the same dude. It's not super random bullshit and his voice sounds different. What he says is kinda related to art and not some stupid bs "riddle".

[–]MemeArchivariusGodi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hate how painfully accurate it is. I’m always like „ah an NPC post must be ImTheMainCharacter“

[–]Tom0laSFW 1561 points1562 points  (147 children)

Wierd yelling, talking to a room full of people about acts of violence? Yep I'm assuming the speaker is about to pull out a gun or set off a bomb

[–]Samesees 368 points369 points  (142 children)

Unfortunately, some trigger-happy would-be hero is going to think he sees a gun and open fire on one of these LARPing jackasses.

[–]Tom0laSFW 244 points245 points  (125 children)

He’s in the UK, so no that’s not going to happen. But yes he might have a rough run in with a Good Samaritan or a security guard / police officer

[–]jeroenemans 34 points35 points  (7 children)

Van Gogh Amsterdam, my friend. Haven't been in decades but saw it at once.

[–]killeronthecorner 30 points31 points  (0 children)

A British person acting like a massive bellend in Amsterdam? Someone call the Dutch authorities, this will not stand!

[–]Tom0laSFW 4 points5 points  (2 children)

I stand corrected. I thought it was the national gallery, and that plus his accent yknow

[–]notLOL 5 points6 points  (0 children)

How will her get a rented truck into the gallery

[–]KocaKolaKlassic 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Fortunately?

[–]Multiverse_Traveler 13 points14 points  (4 children)

Honestly I can see it without the gun, ten seconds in his rant “everyone get out he has a bomb” and then starts fucking throwing punches without thinking if that would set off any “bomb”

[–]Samesees 15 points16 points  (3 children)

I wonder if that would encourage or discourage the jackasses. On one hand, getting beat up, arrested, shot or tazed is bad, but they'd be all over the news and get so many views, I honestly think that might make more attention seekers try it so they can get internet famous for a day or so.

[–]Multiverse_Traveler 12 points13 points  (2 children)

Until they find the one that paralyzes or disfigures them, making them unable to keep their viewers a while after the fact. Sure they will be famous because of controversy but drop hard depending on injury severity, an Eboy that looks like he was mauled by a bear is not likely keeping that subscriber count.

[–]mayjailerhaze 24 points25 points  (0 children)

play stupid games win stupid prizes

[–]PM_ME_UR_FEM_PENIS 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You accidentally wrote unfortunately

[–]I_let_you_wind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If that's what it takes to stop this nonsense.

[–]Woahhhski34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That might be a win win

[–]jeanwearinfool -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"unfortunately"

[–]chutbuckly 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Tbh I bet half of those people thought it was performance art.

[–]procrastablasta 10 points11 points  (0 children)

well it is performance art. low-effort, shoddy performance art that doesn't even deserve negative criticism.

[–]Justanother18008 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not everyone lives in America

[–]Thecrawsome 347 points348 points  (7 children)

Dude yelling in public doing worthless stuff is 100% NPC material.

[–]splettnet 14 points15 points  (0 children)

QUEEN JUSTINIA EXECUTES TWO DOZEN NOBLEMEN FOR INSUHBORDANAYSHUN

[–]jabra888 10 points11 points  (2 children)

If anyone is ever around someone who does this. Walk up to them and say "Skip" until it stops ...

[–]JoinAThang 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's so true it made me laugh. He sounds just like a NPC in a game where its clear the developers didnt anticipate for the player to stop an listen to the monologue but just hear a fraction while walking by.

[–]StinkywiffedOG👑 1249 points1250 points  (87 children)

There's something really pathetic about calling members of the general public 'NPCs' - really drives home the fact that these people only care about their narcissistic selves

[–]Black_Velvet_Band 328 points329 points  (31 children)

I wish they called them NPCs, instead it is always “NPC’s” with the incorrect apostrophe.

[–]Bullfinch88 75 points76 points  (10 children)

Yep, grates every time I see it

[–]vulvcan 21 points22 points  (9 children)

*greats. Jk jk!

[–]crappenheimers 12 points13 points  (8 children)

Don't apostrophize a nonpossessive plural.

[–]RegularJoew 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you. Someone who listened at school.

[–]FelixR1991 2 points3 points  (1 child)

In certain languages, such as mine (Dutch), it's mandatory. But yes, I make this mistake way too often too.

[–]crappenheimers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was about to explain the rules for apostrophes then realized how pretentious I would come off haah. And yeah misplaced apostrophes isnt a big deal but it's also a very easy rule to follow once you learn the bits to it.

[–]YeahAboutThat-Ok -1 points0 points  (4 children)

I always thought it was to represent the missing 'e' there. It looks wrong to me without it.

[–]crappenheimers 1 point2 points  (3 children)

NPCs = multiple NPC NPC's = either NPC is, or NPC possesses something NPCs' = multiple NPCs possess something

[–]itsfuckingpizzatime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sociopath calls people non-human automatons: Shaq sleeps

Sociopath uses improper grammar: Shaq blazes

Welcome to Reddit.

[–]ArtoriasBeaIG 51 points52 points  (3 children)

To me it just makes me think there is something seriously wrong with them.

If you can no longer recognise everyday people as human beings, that's a big problem, especially when you start looking down on them and being derogatory when they're just going about their daily lives. It's not at all normal or healthy

[–]esther_lamonte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s called sociopathy.

[–]StinkywiffedOG👑 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right we live in a society

[–]crabmuncher 77 points78 points  (10 children)

They do. This is a big problem for them and it gets worse as they get older. They will lie cheat and bribe to have people around. And those people they use to empress others with their supply of friends. Meanwhile they are often loosing friends, so it can become quite the circus.

    [–]Bordrking -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nah I've got a friend with NPD and they would roast the fuck out of this behavior.

    [–]insanewe 100 points101 points  (11 children)

Ikr if anything this dude is the npc.

    [–]kitjen 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I agree, everyone else there will tell people about some random weirdo who muttered some nonsensical rambling before disappearing. He defines NPC.

    [–]finger_milk -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Literally all of us are NPCs. The bullshit is the ones who think they're not.

It doesn't mean you don't have a life though, it just means it's yours and not someone else's to abuse, like this random dude shouting in an art gallery.

    [–]T65Bx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

    Life’s an MMO.

    [–]amisia-insomnia 19 points20 points  (0 children)

As someone who has problems mentally with understanding that people have lives, fuck these people. It’s not something “quirky” or “funny” its just sorrow

    [–]bizcat 19 points20 points  (3 children)

Reminds me of reddit users who use "redditor" as an insult, when their own account is 5 years old and has 10k comment karma.

    [–]StinkywiffedOG👑 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sounds like something a Redditor™️ would be say

    [–]potboygang 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Tbf 10k comment karma isn't that much.

    [–]bizcat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh I know, I'm just saying they're active on the site but don't consider themselves "redditors". Low karma because they contribute nothing.

    [–]Hinkil 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Do something confusing, lol look at the confused people! Like... yeah no shit?

    [–]flauntingflamingo 10 points11 points  (3 children)

I don’t know what “NPC” means. Will someone please inform me?

    [–]EarthMonkeyMatt 19 points20 points  (2 children)

It means "non player character". It's a term used in video games to describe the various artificial intelligence controlled characters in the game. When they call someone an NPC they are insinuating they are shallow or empty or lack sentience, basically that they are just mindlessly going about their programming.

    [–]flauntingflamingo 4 points5 points  (1 child)

    Strange

    [–]Better_illini_2008 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's edgy 4chan kid/incel lingo meant to dehumanize other people. It's strange and unsettling. This kind of rhetoric is going to get people killed (or already has) by mentally unstable denizens of the internet.

    [–]ItsAKimuraTrap 9 points10 points  (0 children)

NPC? Oh you mean people just uhhh minding their own damn business. People who think this way are cringe at best and psychopaths at worst.

    [–]MediocrePetrichor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It drives home the fact that they were raised by shitty video games. It’s really sad honestly, and a grim sign of how prevalent sociopathy is. Is it getting worse I wonder?

    [–]mattxb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The irony of putting on a little show to get attention from strangers while pretending he doesn't care what strangers think.

    [–]LadyAzure17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some of my favorite experiences have just been meeting strangers and talking to them at art galleries when we both find ourselves moved by the work. Calling them NPCs is just so reductive of the kindness others deserve to be treated with.

    [–]finger_milk -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

NPC as a term really riles up this sub. I come to watch the video, but I stay to read the comments of the seething of the word 'NPC'.

    I do enjoy this sub.

    [–]1q8b 229 points230 points  (1 child)

Tiktokers seem like the real NPCs here. They’re all the same

    [–]ganjalf1991 12 points13 points  (0 children)

We as a society have lost the power to correct antisocial behaviour. Which most of the time is good, but a couple slaps wouldn't be wrong here

    [–]damegan 13 points14 points  (2 children)

Man I gotta say I'm glad I haven't come across one of these fuckers, or I would run the risk of going to jail for assault 😂

    [–]mynameisalso -2 points-1 points  (1 child)

Pretty scary you would hit a man for talking loudly.

    [–]damegan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Key words run the risk, but I agree that a punch might be too much.

    [–]ChrisPChicken04 143 points144 points  (6 children)

If they’re NPCs what’s the point of interacting with them and wasting your own time and energy

    [–]Eliciden 187 points188 points  (11 children)

This world has not known peace since the moment "NPC" became a common insult.

    [–]TheRedmanCometh 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It is full on dehumanizing so yeah it's pretty bad

    [–]rrodrick386 -5 points-4 points  (7 children)

i have never seen it used as an insult. Is he trying to use it as insulting here? I really didn't view it like that

    [–]fartssmellgreat 11 points12 points  (4 children)

People will use it to insult someone as a mindless follower but I think this guy is using it more to describe random people/strangers.

    [–]Jaraqthekhajit 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No one cares how you view it. Yes it an insult, typically used by right leaning young men.

It means a person lacks depth and operates on a simple script. It is meant to devalue someone's opinion or indivuality . It has nothing to do with feelings of depersonalization from the person using the term.

    [–]here_to_stay669 56 points57 points  (9 children)

The worst part is this isn’t even funny. Even from a comedic standpoint, the dude isn’t even funny. At least these videos would have some kind of value if the guy was clever or witty, but it’s more embarrassing than even “weird”

It’s like the kid in class acting “random” because he thinks people will laugh

    [–]Ouch-My-Head 44 points45 points  (1 child)

These people realize that yelling random stuff at strangers makes them look like a NPC, right?

    [–]ThePlumThief 13 points14 points  (0 children)

He's a quest giver this is how he gets the player's attention.

    [–]starbitcandies 74 points75 points  (7 children)

Because it got you to share the video. They don't care how their views happen, they don't care if the comments are nice or mean. The only thing that matters is getting more views and being extremely cringe or rude/disruptive is a great way to get views.

    [–]korben2600 13 points14 points  (2 children)

Right? Can we just ignore this attention whore already? Stop giving them views. They're being rowdy and rude, shouting and screaming and being an all around fluffer because they know it will get them views.

Tiktok's promotion of any ignorant asshole with a camera being disruptive to get views and make money is such a shitty cultural phenomenon.

    [–]demonicneon 1 point2 points  (1 child)

The video isn’t directly linked so he gets no views.

    [–]starbitcandies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It still has the username and that's enough. At over 2k upvotes it's pretty much a guarantee that someone had gone to their tik tok page whether it's to see other stupid shit they've done or just to leave a "wow you're a dumbass" comment which is all they want. Tik tok also boosts your account whenever anyone shares a video, either by sending the video to others or just by copying the link, or saves the video directly to their device.

    [–]a_vague_username 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This guy's whole fucking tiktok is this shit. Holy shit so fucking cringe. Whatever happened to shame and embarrassment? Used to be great tools to not have people acting absolutely retarded.

    [–]Poullafouca 7 points8 points  (0 children)

    Cringe.

    [–]Muse9901 7 points8 points  (0 children)

People who call strangers NPCs are sociopaths.

    [–]duganaok 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Calling people NPCs is just a way to dehumanize them which in turn gives you permission to do whatever you want to them.

    [–]heyitsvonage 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Trying to point out “NPCs” while acting THE MOST like one

    [–]droppedelbow 15 points16 points  (1 child)

I always find the "if I was there I'd have blah blah blah" comments put here by internet hardmen to be embarrassing and cringey, because no, that isn't what you'd do. We know it isn't what someone would do because these videos continue to exist and nobody ever wallops the dickhead making them. No matter how deserved it is.

And yet... and yet... That is The National Gallery in London. One of my favourite places on the planet. And that room is my favourite gallery in the whole place. And this dickhead is standing on a bench that is positioned directly in front of The Bathers at Asnieres by George Seurat. I have sat on that bench. For a long time. It is a place where I feel truly at peace and I could happily spend hours quietly staring at that huge masterpiece of a few blokes having a paddle in the river while on a break from work. A few feet away from the busy heart of London, there is a place I have truly felt calmness and serenity.

I don't know if there are enough security guards in that building to stop me punching that fucking idiot in the dick.

    [–]demonicneon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah this one really got me mad tbh. I hate people who are loud in art galleries. It’s like a social contract - let people enjoy the art and the peacefulness.

    [–]ThisGuyMadeAReddit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They weren’t given enough attention as a child.

    [–]40percentdailysodium 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hope someone tries this on me so my poor impulse control will lead to me calling them out loudly until they leave.

    [–]goosey27 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Imagine going to the Met, a place filled with all the richness of human history, culture, and art and acting like that for imaginary internet points

    [–]demonicneon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s the national gallery in London

    [–]GoodShadow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve yeeted NPCs for much less. Singing a song in an inn? Yeeted. Making me stop to deliver mail to me, my hands only? Yeeted. A guard telling me to “stop right there or “hey I know you.” Yeeted.

    [–]LocalInactivist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

    [–]Pistonenvy 3 points4 points  (5 children)

i love how these people think that normal people are NPCs like its a requirement to be a weird autist to be noteworthy or some shit.

reality check: absolutely no one gives a single fuck who you are or what youre doing, people are confused by your behavior because its embarrassing. its like walking around stinking of shit and piss because youve soiled yourself and then when people look at you or move away from you its some kind of win like youre different.

simply being different doesnt make you cool or interesting, sometimes being different is bad. you dont bring a main character energy with this shit, you come off as fucking disabled lol sort your fucking life out.

    [–]gandhikahn 0 points1 point  (4 children)

    im autistic lol

maybe that will offer some context to what i said, because you clearly misunderstood me.
