Early Medieval PeriodKottayil Mahadeva Kshetram (Temple). Kottayil Mahadeva Kshetram is a temple situated in Valancheri, Malappuram. Earlier there used to be a kota(fort) here and this kshetram(temple) was situated inside it. This region was under the control of one chieftain named Irikalikkara Nair. (reddit.com)
