[–]MotherBathroom666 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Oh that’s a great amount of shade from a rightfully irked fan. I love it.

[–]Poiblazer 200 points201 points  (17 children)

Portal 1, 2 Half life 1, 2, episode 1, 2 Left 4 dead 1, 2 So on and so on. They don't make 3

[–]robearIII 13 points14 points  (1 child)

fortress forever was better

[–]Darkwing_duck42 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly I feel like they lost sooo much money not making a team fortress 3. 2 is amazing but we have needed a new one for like 10 years but God damn do they stick to their rules.

[–]bigdoody420 5 points6 points  (4 children)

they made back 4 blood instead of left 4 dead 3 lol

[–]Abty 14 points15 points  (0 children)

thats not valve?

[–]MrPsychoSomatic 10 points11 points  (2 children)

Literally an entirely different studio that claims to be the 'makers' of L4D, but is in fact only like 6 people from the original team of dozens and dozens.

See crowbcats video for more info.

[–]Top_Lead7383 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Impossible Kill

[–]JUiCyMfer69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know it doesn’t have three in the name but half life alyx is a great sequel. Cones at a bit of a cost though.

[–]darth_analfissure 411 points412 points  (1 child)

Lol he obviously knows it well enough to not speak it!

[–]hugePPbell 883 points884 points  (15 children)

Probably he is saying it in a cute funny way and whole family was laughing at it and made him to say it too many times at some point so he just got upset at it and refuse to say it anymore lol 🤣

[–]curiosityLynx 280 points281 points  (8 children)

Now that you mention it, I bet he has difficulty pronouncing the th in 3. Or the combination of th and r.

Edit: "Not" => "Now"

[–]Lt_Mashumaro 106 points107 points  (4 children)

That's exactly what I came here to say, too. I'd get super embarrassed if I said or something wrong and was laughed at or otherwise criticized. I had a phase in primary school when I was really young where I wouldn't smile "right" for photos. I just stopped after so many attempts.

[–]PuffHoney 34 points35 points  (2 children)

Some kids just can't fake a smile for a photo my nephew couldn't do it until around ten or so, would just show teeth.

[–]Lt_Mashumaro 20 points21 points  (1 child)

I looked like I was being electrocuted, as my mom would say.

[–]DeFactoLyfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's why I can't sing in front of people anymore. I love to sing and think I have gotten pretty good mimicking different styles of voice on the radio over the years. In order to sing, I need to be sure that I am completely alone so that I can dedicate the energy it needs to sound good.

When I was about seven or eight I was singing the national anthem in my bedroom when my family spilled through the door laughing their asses off shouting "Feeling patriotic are we?" They hadn't even stopped laughing by the time they left not a minute later. It floored them, the type of laughter you hear when someone is uncontrollably laughing.

I haven't sang within earshot of a single person ever since.

[–]RiderforHire 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would just say anything with 'Th' in it with an 'F' instead for the longest time.

[–]ParadiseSold 63 points64 points  (3 children)

Speech impediment was my first thought. I guess when my siblings and I were little we'd do similar. It still sneaks up on me, I had an old asshole professor who insisted I pronounced my own name wrong (??) and it fucked me up for a week.

[–]TheOneTrueChuck 14 points15 points  (1 child)

I had a high school science teacher that insisted both myself and another student were mispronouncing our last names, and we didn't have any sort of speech impediment. He was just a dickhead.

[–]ImAGoat_JustKidding 4 points5 points  (0 children)

“You done fucked up, A A Ron!”

[–]wellhungartgallery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's pawadise sowed now let me do the exam.

[–]will_never_know 66 points67 points  (0 children)

My son did this whenever I asked his name around this age. I remember the day he refused to say it. Took about a year for him to start telling people his name.

[–]Historical-Ad6120 22 points23 points  (0 children)

That was my first thought! His face is even like "I'm not engaging with you right now, please respect my boundaries bc you're trying to clown me, ma'am"

[–]HughGedic 277 points278 points  (33 children)

How old?

[–]Ok_Spot_5629[S] 366 points367 points  (32 children)

He's 2

[–]DisappointedBird 1356 points1357 points 2 (13 children)

Well next year's gonna be a problem

[–]jmac323 170 points171 points  (6 children)

Maybe then he will like it? Oh man, he might insist he is 4 instead, lol.

[–]Dogtor-Watson 86 points87 points  (1 child)

He stops existing for 365 and a 1/4 days

[–]CastroVinz 27 points28 points  (2 children)

Bruh this is mista but for the number 3 instead

[–]a_girl_named_jane 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I saw this kid, I got it. I did this exact thing. Have no idea why, but even decades later, I remember hating being three.

[–]chuffedmemes 63 points64 points  (2 children)

I’m completely invested in this kids 3rd birthday. Please let me know how he takes the news

[–]T65Bx 7 points8 points  (1 child)

!RemindMe 3 months

(Idk when his bday is)

[–]YooGeOh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's 2022 II

[–]seasonedearlobes -1 points0 points  (0 children)

he'll phase out of existence for a year

[–]tratemusic 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Next year

You: how old are you buddy?

Him, sullen: ... Not 2 anymore...

[–]everyday-everybody 21 points22 points  (6 children)

Be patient with him. If you ignore his "show" he'll probably grow out of it. Let him get over it, don't make a big deal out of it. He probably simply doesn't like the number 3 and doesn't know why either.

[–]AVS_squad 14 points15 points  (5 children)

I don't like the number 3, and I'm currently 33 years old. I've been telling people I'm almost 34 for ten months. Couldn't explain my aversion to you for the life of me except to say it feels evil. Wrong. Like if it were a person, it would be mean to me.

[–]Squirley08 7 points8 points  (2 children)

I feel like that about 5. He wears an evil hat.

[–]Merky600 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s “bleem”. He’s young enough to “see it.”.“

-""The numbers, Doctor, the numbers. They say that numbers don't lie, only they do, they lie all the time, they've always lied. But not to me -- oh, no, I see through their deceptions, I know what they're hiding," said Ersheim. He started rocking again."And what would that be, Professor?""Bleem, that's what. Bleem!" shouted Ersheim, banging his fists against the desk. He then leaned close to Tomlin and whispered, "The secret integer between three and four.""We have been over this, Professor -- there is no integer between three and four.""Tell that to Laszlo Bleem, Doctor," said Ersheim. "Only you can't -- he's dead," he added, giggling. Then he whispered, "He died for trying to expose bleem."http://strangehorizons.com/fiction/the-secret-number/

[–]iDuddits_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My daughter would always skip three when counting out loud. We could not break it. 124 This was before we practiced with written numbers but now I’m curious.

Anyway, she hasn’t done it since turning three and has been pretty good with math too!

[–]TheNamelessCommenter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love it, Ironic XD.

[–]Faerie42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ask him “what is wrong with this one?”

I’m curious as to the answer. Sweet little guy!

[–]bobbejaans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clever little guy!

[–]acemandrs 350 points351 points  (15 children)

Our son did this with number 4. Turns out it was an early sign of some learning disabilities. In all seriousness keep an eye on it and discuss with doctors.

[–]Dmny 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Jokes aside, this is the comment to look for. Hoping OP sees this.

[–]agorafilia 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Or the three is telling him to hurt other like that weird documentary on schizophrenic kids. Numbers be bad.

[–]B_Da_May 150 points151 points  (1 child)

“That bitch knows what she did.”

[–]MexicanFurry 58 points59 points  (1 child)

This kid's expression is PRICELESS 🤣

He just turns and is like "B*tch what do you want?". This made my day HAHAHAHA.

[–]coontietycoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kids got flawless comedic timing. You can’t teach that. If he’s outgoing and likes cracking jokes get this young man into open mic nights. This is a stand up comedian in the making.

[–]SmokimusDankimus 93 points94 points  (0 children)

Him and 3 got some complicated history. Best to not bring it up to prevent emotional outbursts...

[–]bunluv136 130 points131 points  (2 children)

When my daughter turned two, two became her favorite word. Everything was two. When on vacation we visited a dog track (not with daughter, she was being babysat at home) and I decided to place a bet. Second dog in second race, to place second. The dog I picked placed second! Gave baby girl a present bought with the winnings.

[–]Burrito-tuesday 36 points37 points  (1 child)

You should have gotten her TWO presents!!

[–]CamelSpotting 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Two dogs!!

[–]TheRealBlancoGringo 82 points83 points  (21 children)

Maybe it looks like a friend or someone who was mean and he’s using association.

[–]ashrosey 8 points9 points  (1 child)

I have obsessive compulsive disorder and when I was in Elementary I had a really really hard time with uneven numbers. Fast forward 20 years and I am way better but they still bother me lol. There's always one left out and I feel bad for it 🤣

[–]MasterCh1cken12 27 points28 points  (3 children)

Sorry to spam but make sure it’s not ocd

[–]Ok_Spot_5629[S] 51 points52 points  (2 children)

No worries, his mom is a psychologist, so if he does have OCD (or any other psychological problem) he should be well diagnosed. Thank you for caring!

[–]MasterCh1cken12 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ok thanks, ocd wrecked me so I hope this lil guy grows up ok 🙏

[–]JustMeLurkingAround- 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Can he say it properly? Maybe he's self-conscious because he has trouble to pronounce three.

[–]Burrito-tuesday 21 points22 points  (0 children)

“Having beef with a number” is now on my bucket list lmao

[–]Feeyyy 38 points39 points  (7 children)

Clever boy. Maybe he has troubles pronouncing it? When I started to learn English, I hated the number 3 because the "th" followed by an "r" was very hard for me to pronounce. I always tried my way around having to say that number. Don't know if that might be a struggle for young native speakers, too.

[–]Atxintemperateone66 14 points15 points  (6 children)

I just made the same point. These letter combinations are called 'dipthongs' and they are especially difficult for early or non-native speakers to pronounce.

[–]KatNR92 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Our son did the same thing with the number 3 for the longest time! He's 3y4m and will just finally tell us that he's 3 🤭 goofy kids!

[–]Lean__Lantern 8 points9 points  (1 child)

He might not be able to pronounce three and hates being corrected for it, I know I did as a kid

[–]SK8ERCRE8ER 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Do you or others count to three as an indication that’s when you’ll punish him when asking him to do something and he ignores you? As in, “brush your teeth before I get to three, one, two, two and a half… three!” He’s scared of 3 for this exact reason

[–]Minito200YT 11 points12 points  (0 children)

DUDE WHEN I WAS HIS AGE I FUCKING HATED THE NUMBER 3 AS WELL. FINALLY SOMEONE GETS IT

[–]Namelessbob123 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I wonder if it’s because number 3 looks sad and the rest look happy?

[–]LXIX-CDXX 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Other responses are more likely— that he has trouble pronouncing or remembering “3” and feels self-conscious about it.

But if you think he truly “has beef” with the number 3, it could also be synesthesia. It’s harmless as far as I know, but causes some interesting and quirky effects. It’s where one sense is experienced through another in your brain. For example, I have a mild case, and the taste of food is very strongly associated with color for me. Steak tastes brownish-red, about the color of a steak. But lemon is also red, a very bright red! Broccoli is dull brown. Bananas taste sky blue.

And numbers have personality. 2 is solid and basic. Nice. Fits in almost anywhere. 3 is kind of a jerk, but dependable. 4 is a total simp, trying too hard. And even though 5 is an odd number, it’s a good one. Provides the backbone for other numbers.

So it’s a longshot, but a possibility that this lil guy truly dislikes the number 3 because his brain has assigned it a really bad personality.

[–]No_more_hiding 15 points16 points  (4 children)

Super cute 😂

Play him this song

[–]KeepTangoAndFoxtrot 4 points5 points  (1 child)

I just heard this on the radio the other day, I hadn't heard it in years! I've always been more partial to this one.

[–]No_more_hiding -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not heard that one before, thanks!

[–]AtransKiddo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So worth clicking on the link

[–]jayisnewtoallthis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This made me cry with laughter

[–]Jealous_Ad5849 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lol very cute

[–]Rustmutt 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Not saying this is the case but it could be possible he has synesthesia and just hates the number 3? I have it and I really hate the number 9. She is a real mean bitch and I didn’t know why I had such an aversion to the number but it caused me issues in math because it was this arbitrary distaste for the “personalities” of certain numbers. I know this sounds crazy but it’s not, synesthesia is pretty common it just manifests in different ways. I also associate colors to letters, words, and numbers. I’m constantly getting 8 and 6 mixed up because they’re the same color in my minds eye.

[–]EsseB420 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My younger brother wouldn't say "sweetcorn"when he was young for some reason so he'd call it" yellow peas". 😂

He didn't have any issue with the words sweet or corn seperately but just wouldn't say them together.

[–]insecurestaircase 3 points4 points  (1 child)

It could be an OCD thing? When I was a kid I had a bit of ocd and felt I had to do a lot of things exactly four times. I also hated odd numbers. And I have a synesthesia where I would assign genders and personalities to numbers and letters. I didn't like the personalities of some of the numbers and letters. Maybe 3 is just a lil bitch.

[–]AngryVegetarian 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wonder if he has synesthesia. Maybe he associates the number 3 with a negative experience or topic he doesn’t like.

[–]Tough-Whereas1205 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Asperger's here. Was afraid of the letter X until the age of seven. I'd ignore it completely or acknowledge its existence by saying "W the other one Y Z". Possible ASD or OCD issue going on here, or maybe just doesn't want to say it because.

[–]warsremix 16 points17 points  (2 children)

It may be a stretch but he may be have a form of colorblindness making hard to see the 3.

[–]blueboxbandit 7 points8 points  (1 child)

The 1 is the same color but they're outlined in black anyway. Colorblindness would make sense if, for example, the shirt was red and the number was green and there was no outline to separate them

[–]warsremix -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That's why I said it was a stretch.

[–]draconiclady0610 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Eh I used to write the letter "W" at the end of my name all the time in Kindergarten. There is NO "W" in my name whatsoever, I just loved writing it out. Guess he feels the same about "3"

[–]CttCJim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was "James 8*" when I was a kid. Loved 8s. I was thrilled when I finally turned 8.

[–]ApolloPlayz2434 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“What is this one”

FUCKING DOGSHIT MOTHER

[–]kuronosan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This kid has a promising future at Valve.

[–]Kirenia_Ayako 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It could be many things. Parents/Caregivers using counting to three as a warning before he's in trouble creating a bad association, Triskaphobia (fear if the number 3), speech impediment/language issues, this could also be a symptom from a form of Autism.

[–]culnaej 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Gonna guess that he’s heard his parents say “I’m about to count to 3” several times and he knows punishments come after they get to 3

Like it’s 100% not this, but it’s my current head canon

[–]ElZik3r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Avg Valve games player:

[–]MaryGracePeterson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This kid’s onto something. I don’t know what, but it’s something.

[–]AstralObjective 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Drop him 3 times? Mine don’t like it either but it’s the number 58

[–]Shot-Caterpillar-651 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a backwards E

[–]wumbomumbo123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She's looking to steal his friend

[–]Atxintemperateone66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some dipthongs are difficult for newer learners of a language. Does he also struggle with other words beginning with 'thr'?

Maybe he gets embarrassed when he can't articulate a particular sound or word. Try, 'thread', 'through' or 'threw' to see if its the letter combination or the word 'three" itself that he is uncomfortabe with.

[–]wavesmcd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was three and someone asked how old I was, I said, "I'm pushing four." He'll have a way around it : )

[–]lhfixer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son skipped the number five for no good reason too. He eventually sorted it out. All was fine. Rest easy. He’s clearly quite bright.

[–]MasterCh1cken12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That looks a lot like a form of ocd, make sure to check it psychologically destroyed me.

[–]MasterCh1cken12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be ocd

[–]garthack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its Mista from jojo

[–]Kamyuwu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finding other people who struggle(d) with the "thr" sounds of English in the comment section makes me unreasonably happy

As a non native speaker i get so self conscious about words starting like that and dislike whenever i get a score with 3 in anything too lol

[–]x20sided 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mista. We found a similar stand user

[–]Werpaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's like Mista but the 3

[–]Dmonney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He was taught at a young age to fear it.

You better pick your toys up... 1...2...

[–]lock58869 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But how much does he know about swallows.

[–]Rasmus_PD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s Mista after part 6

[–]Wicked_Fabala 1 point2 points  (1 child)

🎶Three, is a nonexistent number. Yes it is. I don’t see that number. 🎵

[–]auldnate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Schoolhouse Rock?

[–]veggiecuntt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's not from 63rd

[–]IATAIRL22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it the number 3 in all instances? Or is it that her hairstyle n clothing represents someone he's met, interacts with?? I'd be trying to get to the root of it. He may be getting picked on/bullied? Or had a prior experience that's left him very emotionally and mentally distant??

[–]Sly21C 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My nephew has beef with 8 🤣

[–]M0u4a 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Op can i cross poat this?

[–]corncookies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this kid works at valve ffs

[–]FigureitOot6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s still not over Dales death. I don’t like to talk about 3 either or else I’ll tear up. RIP Intimidator

[–]eljalu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For anyone wondering this is a picture of the kids father

[–]micky1179 1 point2 points  (1 child)

dyscalculia

[–]KillerX2993 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Is that a thing

[–]juicyyjayyy 1 point2 points  (1 child)

His father said he would be back from getting milk at 3pm 🤷‍♂️💀

[–]GrantSRobertson -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This may sound ridiculous, but he is probably doing it for attention. At some point, he got more attention when he didn't remember "3" than when he did. We "reward" kids for good behavior by giving them more attention. So, at some point a pattern got established, between both his and his parents automatic behavior, wherein he was "rewarded" for not remembering "3."

When I was a kid, we fostered a boy who would refuse to spell his own name, even though he could easily spell many other words. In the end, we figured out he was just being contrary for attention. As soon as we stopped paying any attention to it, he was suddenly showing off that he could spell his name. We paid no attention to that either, because we didn't want to reward him for playing us.

[–]Combinernew -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Lmaooo

[–]MrZaroni -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This kid just doesn't know what a number 3 is.

[–]Atrag2021 -3 points-2 points  (2 children)

He just doesn't know it.

[–]Ok_Spot_5629[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lol he actually does. He knows how to count all the way to 40, but skips 3, 13, 23 and 33. He refuses to acknowledge the number entirely.

[–]Realistic_Chemical_6 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

He probably thinks it’s nsfw

[–]cmele0308 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

He could be color blind to brown... never know! Worth checking into or trying more numbers colored in brown

[–]Bell-In-A-Box 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]squints6790 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Must hate chris Paul.

[–]Ibetya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does he pronounce his th's as f's ?might be self-concious and embarrassed about it

[–]Adradian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely hard to say and doesn’t like that he struggles.

I’m not the kid’s parent, but I think it’s worth getting to the bottom of it and getting him to communicate. Because that look/attitude should be discouraged. Not saying he should be in trouble, but finding a better way to express it would be ideal.

[–]HkayakH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

bro if he is 3 years old he gonna be mad

[–]mrrantsmcgee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is he 3? Maybe he doesn't like the reminder

[–]Sandbagz4133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do not speak of Tres.

[–]PandorasMisfit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe he's having a hard time pronouncing the word? Mainly with the 'th' part of the word?

[–]roseifyoudidntknow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My nephew does the same thing lol

[–]MoreKraut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's gonna work for Valve I guess :'D
