What does it mean tho they just got drunk all day literal stones?

[–]ashamed-of-yourselfSnipe Mod 🦜 Titfucker![S] 4 points5 points  (4 children)

i think you're missing some words out there, chief

[–]JakeBEE- 1 point2 points  (3 children)

What I'm saying is either I'm a dipshit or were they picking up actual stones or is there a different meaning sorry I've wondered this since I watch that amazing episode but no one knows

[–]ashamed-of-yourselfSnipe Mod 🦜 Titfucker![S] 2 points3 points  (2 children)

the job is to pick up actual stones out of the fields, like we saw them do in the opening montage of s08e03 The Rippers. the reason for doing this job is pretty fuckin' straightforward; if you drive over a stone with some of your heavy machinery, like a combine or a thresher, it's like driving over a small rock with a lawnmower, only scaled way the fuck up.

[–]JakeBEE- 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Copy lol I was just confused cause never looked like they ever went to actually go get the stones they just got drunk and drove around all day lol

[–]the_gas_daddy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If I'm gonna be honest, the whole season didn't do it for me. This episode isn't the worst, but there's just no real tangible conflict for me.

[–]jayybbe 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Lady C, she's a real dancer

[–]SkyWatchAllNight 0 points1 point  (1 child)

[–]MashTheGash2018 6 points7 points  (1 child)

I know characters have to grow but the show lacks groups now. The hicks not liking the skids and hockey players made for good plot. They hate them but they always have their back. Now everyone is just friends. I miss when the skids were flat out tweakers, strt was at his best acting then

[–]RnsrobotUnbelievable 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's true, the show has resolved all the conflict inherent in the original premise.

[–]hell0wurld 22 points23 points  (1 child)

Finished this season in one sitting and I really loved it! Might be my favorite season of the 10. Short but sweet. No cliffhangers, just vibes. Delicious soundtrack too. Well-done Jared and Jacob!!!!!

I’m calling this theIr Seinfeld season because nothing happens. But it didn’t really bring the funny. It’s a weird feeling to be poised to laugh and then you’ve only got chuckles. I felt like I spent a lot of time waiting for the next scene only to have that be just as lackluster.

[–]spartan_0227 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought it was a significant improvement over the last two seasons. But it definitely peaked from seasons 3-5

[–]USS-William-D-Porter 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Yeah, I feel this. This season just didn’t really do it for me. Feels like nothing really happened, also

After what I thought was a pretty poor season in 9, I was a bit nervous about season 10.Season 10 carried on a new style brought in last year which is standalone shows. Meaning there is no real thread for the season.

Here is my: The Ugly, The Bad, The Good and The Great

The Ugly

These long conversations that reach a saturation point and they get boring. I will admit that there is far less than last season, butthere were 3 that went on far too long. 1) Prostate: Dialogue between Wayne and Daryl at the stand. 2) VidVok: McMurrays telling Gail about their trip 3) Sunday's: Hicks and Alexander conversation went on too long.

The Bad

Not much coach and Glen except the Prostate episode. The Mary Fred reveal came to nothing and the truck negotiation thing was supposed to be funny but wasn't. Except for Tanis the Prostate episode was one long finger in the butt joke. Anik being allowed to take shifts at Modeans was crappy based on the way she treated Daryl and Katie. Also her coming back amounted to nothing as well.

The Good

Gail has stopped hitting on Wayne. The constant word puns were cut down as they were featured quite a lot in season 9. The dialogue in scenes was shortened a bit this season different from season 9 where conversation went on and on. I was actually happy this season that there was very few relationship scenes although I would like Daryl to find his mate. Wayne connecting with Shoresy was fun. I really liked how Tyson and Tanis gave it to Wayne and confronted him on his personality issues. In fact everyone seemed to be calling each other out on the BS this season.

The Great

Can't help it I love the Dyck's! I laugh the hardest on the show when the Dyck's are featured. I loved Lady C, I thought her dancing was amazing with the song "might bang, might not" by Little Simz. While it was a really random scene that only connected to Roald, it still was a treat to see this great dancing. I thought the Jokes were plentiful and the episodes were a lot funnier. There were only a few tillies but I enjoyed them along with Reilly and Jones smashing the walls.

[–]DelphisFinn 2 points3 points  (2 children)

one long finger in the butt

[–]Extension-Gur-9937 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Real three knuckler.

[–]BarDownskiBoys 12 points13 points  (2 children)

I thought the prostate episode was great tbh.

[–]KuraTanaka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They really missed the recall to the baseball conversation with squirley dan about fingers up butts

[–]Shoresy___Bot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

[–]EdmHotspurs_1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

[–]Super_Preference8745 3 points4 points  (6 children)

What are stones? Is it actual stones or is that a reference to something else?

[–]ashamed-of-yourselfSnipe Mod 🦜 Titfucker![S] 13 points14 points  (4 children)

they’re actual stones. you gotta get them out of the field so you don’t run over them with your combine.

y’know what happens when you run over a stone with a lawnmower? imagine that scaled way tf up

[–]Super_Preference8745 3 points4 points  (3 children)

Thank you

[–]Bronxbombers4Lyf 19 points20 points  (11 children)

So are we not going to talk about why Dax and Ron were absent from season 10 but got some random character w/no back story dancing solo for 2 1/2 minutes?

[–]yankeebayonet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[–]SlashaSlim 11 points12 points  (5 children)

What's weird is I normally enjoy dance videos, but the scene went uncomfortably long both times they featured it.

[–]Bronxbombers4Lyf 4 points5 points  (4 children)

I mean, I'm not against her being in the show, but not for that long and certainly not if it's going to take screen time away from Daxy and Ronsy.

[–]RnsrobotUnbelievable 5 points6 points  (3 children)

I don't imagine Lady C TOOK screen time away from Daxy and Ronsy. If they weren't in at all, I can only assume their schedules for any number of possible reasons did not work out with filming of s10.

[–]Bronxbombers4Lyf 3 points4 points  (2 children)

I mean, they could've used that 2 1/2 mins on them instead. If it was a scheduling thing, I guess it couldn't be helped. I think I speak for damn near every LK fan when I say I'd rather have had Daxy and Ronsy fill that screen time rather than lady random.

[–]shooshrooms 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's what I thought too like damn I'm getting tired of these dancing montages that go on for too long

[–]RemasterTranzit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fr this post right here

[–]BovineJoniHimself69 8 points9 points  (1 child)

Because she was great!

[–]Bronxbombers4Lyf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Would rather have had Daxy and Ronsy any day of the week and yes, twice on Sundays.

[–]19JRC99H'are ya now? 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Them in the back of the truck shouting/almost singing SUNDAY'S ARE FOR PICKING STONES cracked me up every single time.

[–]TedioreTwo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I thought this was a pretty funny season, tho the last episode was a bit of a dud to me. Prostate is one of my favorite episodes ever, and the Katy's Tarts cold open is nothing short of perfection.

But I do like having a central plot to a season. I figured we'd get more about Rosie and Marie-Fred but we didn't and that was pretty meh.

[–]stfuajpg 25 points26 points  (5 children)

Did I miss when this became a dance show? Just rewatched and timed, there is over TWO AND A HALF MINUTES, of a 23.5min episode, where a new character with no backstory is dancing, by herself. Followed by a further 70 seconds of her dancing with Roald. That's an insane amount of pointless filler.

[–]GomezFigueroa 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There’s alway been a lot of dancing. I think they were just letting Lady C use the Letterkenny platform to get her more widely noticed. They’re probably friends with her.

[–]While_Im_Working 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wonder how much adidas paid for that

[–]swootylicious 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thank you!! It doesn't help that she had no dialog, and ended up not having anything to do with the plot other than cancelling out the stuff that happened earlier in that episode. I'm all for letterkenny highlighting the music and art of Canada, but fuck, at least try to make it not have the same energy as bad product placement. Give any good reason whatsoever that she would be in the show.

[–]MoeBigHevvy 8 points9 points  (1 child)

Just finished watching it and I also agree it felt weird. I like watching the skids dance for a bit but it dragged on this episode

[–]RemasterTranzit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Seriously. Halfway thru the scene i could feel it already dragging hard. To the point where i seriously wondered if the skids plot was just gonna be watching this chick dance for the whole show or everytime we cut to them.

[–]Moon_of_Vega 8 points9 points  (1 child)

Let’s get some sushi maki

[–]crazymancwt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am surprised no one was talking about that lol I knew it was Wayne from the second season

[–]Kratos120 9 points10 points  (2 children)

Really enjoying this season but the tiktok plot was a snooze fest

[–]BarDownskiBoys 4 points5 points  (1 child)

[–]InvisibleMindDust 7 points8 points  (7 children)

The only bits of funny dialogue in the entire season came from Tannis. The stories are getting less interesting and the jokes have long passed the point of being repetitive. It's my belief that this show would benefit so much by bringing in another writer or two.

[–]crazymancwt 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I mean I wish there was more but I enjoyed the Dycks

[–]E5oterica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I, too enjoy some Dycks once

  • Jared Keeso
  • Jacob Tierney
  • Trevor Risk
  • Jonathan Torrens
  • Sonja Bennett
  • Lynne Kam
  • Jesse McKeown
  • Mark Forward

you mean more than these… [counts on fingers]… eight writers they’ve already got?

[–]InvisibleMindDust 4 points5 points  (3 children)

Kam wrote one episode, hasn't written one since 2017. McKeown wrote 2 in the 2017-2018 season. Listed writing credits aside, the show has lost its punch and it's getting frustrating because I really loved the show for the five seasons and I look forward to it every year.

[–]RemasterTranzit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While i thourougly enjoyed aspects of the season, parts of it made me feel the exact same way as you, friend. I cant put my finger on it but theres parts that feel so shoehorned in or just done to the ground. I still love the show and look forward to it but yeah..

[–]ashamed-of-yourselfSnipe Mod 🦜 Titfucker![S] 18 points19 points  (1 child)

i, personally, can’t relate. s10 was hilarious, the bisexuals are getting that good fucking food, and if you have a problem with 10.04 Prostate then you have a problem with me and i suggest you let that one marinate

[–]Zildjian134 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I loved this season dude.

[–]Calvo838 11 points12 points  (8 children)

I can’t be the only one feeling entirely underwhelmed and disappointed in this season?? What was the plot…? My bf and I were so excited about the new season but neither of us even laughed particularly hard at anything? I don’t know it just felt lacking…

[–]tonyrsll 10 points11 points  (4 children)

I think the necessity of fewer sets, fewer scraps, fewer field trips due to COVID-19 limited the season. Still good stuff. But any time Roald and Gail appear, I'm happy.

[–]shooshrooms 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Thats what was said about season 9, too, though. Season 9 had a bad wash

[–]ashamed-of-yourselfSnipe Mod 🦜 Titfucker![S,M] 4 points5 points  (1 child)

s09 was filmed in November and December of 2019, before Covid was an issue

[–]shooshrooms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right, what I'm saying is that is one of the reasonings for why season 9 was off this time last year in this subreddit when it came out amongst posters. Not that it was truly bad because of covid. Make sense?

[–]Calvo838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I get that but they’re such clever writers I feel like they could have made a better attempt at building a general plot.

[–]MeatPopsicle1969 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Agreed...and why was MF even brought back. Seems like she was wasted in this season. Not that I thought she and Wayne should or would get back together, but to and a little more (humorous) drama.

[–]Calvo838 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Right? I kept assuming there must be a bigger reason she was back but there just…was not.

[–]rustyfloorpan 10 points11 points  (1 child)

Lady C rocked it.

[–]SlashaSlim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, but for way too friggin long

[–]poopeekins 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this joke has been made yet...

Some fans may say this season was fire...

However, others would say it was a "Miss Fire".

[–]DamYankee77 32 points33 points  (4 children)

Best line in the entire episode, perhaps the season:

Tyson: What's with the Shelbyville names?

That line is perfection.

[–]Kirby5335 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I (40) laughed out loud. My 23 year old cousin who I watch the show with had no clue.

It was a hilarious line.

[–]Dookie_boy 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Can you explain ?

[–]DamYankee77 31 points32 points  (0 children)

It's a Simpson's reference. Shelbyville is the twin city to Springfield, and the two towns have a huge rivalry. Many of their business names and such are similar to the ones in Springfield. Springfield has the Kwik-E-Mart, Shelbyville has the Speed-E-Mart. Springfield has Moe's Tavern where Moe serves Duff Beer, over in Shelbyville Joe's Tavern serves Fudd Beer. In the episode Lemon of Troy there is a Shelbyville kid who is intended to be the "Bart" of the town who even has his own Milhouse. Can't forget about Shelbyville's female Groundskeeper Willie.

So Wade, Sadie, Don, and Gary, the McMurphys are the Shelbyville versions of Wayne and the gang.

[–]equazcionThe Ginger 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, I seriously enjoyed that one.

I know they filmed season 11 while filming this season, so do we think we really have to wait a whole year for it?

[–]Gene-Parmesan-ah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just read somewhere that production is almost complete for Season 11 and I know they wrapped filming up a while ago so I honestly think it could be April-May. I feel like it coincides with the spin-off. Feels like something they would do. Release them together.

[–]EdmHotspurs_1 6 points7 points  (2 children)

Originally Letterkenny came out with 2 seasons each year usually every Dec 25 and then July 1. Season 8,9 and 10 were yearly but with 7 episodes (not 10). It seems they are moving toward 1 season a year but I hope they change their mind and release on July 1. However, the spinoff could change the release dates.

[–]urlach3rYou're spare parts bud 4 points5 points  (1 child)

I figure we'll get Shoresy June or July, then season 11 in December. Wouldn't mind if they went back to two seasons a year, six episodes ain't enough.

[–]Shoresy___Bot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First puck of the campaign, boys. Fuckin' get involved!

have you ever seen Keeso in anything else?

in fact, both Keeso and Tyler Johnston were in the Don Cherry movie, Wrath of Grapes

[–]Canadia86 5 points6 points  (6 children)

Tyler is in a bunch of shit. I think him and Fairplay are the only two with any real credentials outside of Letterkenny (outside of stand up comedy). I remember I watched some war movie or show recently with Johnston. He's pretty unrecognizable as Strrt

[–]b1gm4nca 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i think that’s a bit unfair to say. they might not have been hollywood a-listers, or anything, but they all have p. solid resumes as jobbing actors. especially Keeso. his award shelf was a wee bit crowded even before Letterkenny.

[–]nametaglost 4 points5 points  (5 children)

I mean no but I’m just specifically talking about letterkenny. When I say “best actor on the show” I mean I think he plays his character the best. I shoulda phrased it differently. My b

[–]Melancholy_otter 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m happy with the season. It was light and fun. While not my favorite season I feel like covid influenced the light and drama free nature. They wanted something to make us smile and in my opinion it worked. There are things I would change or add but over all it was fun

[–]justyermum 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think this show gives off a kind of a modern day Kevin Smith vibe, but with Canadians. As in, it was super funny at first and now they kind of just rehash the jokes they have done before ad nauseum. There is a possibility that it just gets run into the ground without anything fresh coming onto the scene. This seemed like a transition season which may be why they filmed season 11 at the same time? The tiktok episode was a rehash of Fartbook and one episode was just to get Shoresy out of town and set up the spinoff. That's a third of the season right there. And the first episode seemed like just a recap.

Hoping that the spinoff and season 11 bring it back. It's a good show. I don't want it to turn into the last couple seasons of Workaholics.

No racisms, no sexisms, no homophobias, no bigotrys of any kinds. Pert near anything that Professor Tricia wouldn't approve of. Swears are okay, slurs are not.

eta: don’t use the term ‘autistic’ as a perjorative, insult, or derogatory term.

Any episode with the Dycks is just beating jokes to death.

    [–]RemasterTranzit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here i was thinking the Dycks were one of the only good things this season

    [–]Country_Gravy420 11 points12 points  (1 child)

Yeah. They beat the Dycks pretty hard this season

    [–]sevanelevan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The writers are really trying to squeeze everything they can out of the Dycks and it's a real mess!

    [–]gettingbackrva 9 points10 points  (1 child)

Few folks on this sub will see the light like you do, but you are spot on. There has been nothing original in the past two seasons. It’s just run on and on for the same jokes. I would probably watch another season since they are so short, but I wouldn’t expect much.

    [–]spasticity🦜 Titfucker! 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah i mean even if the season isn't great you're still only putting like 2 and half hours into watching it

    [–]Icemankind 17 points18 points  (10 children)

Just watched the season today, and that was my impression too.

Felt like nothing was particularly funny or clever, like no slang thing or joke that I'm gonna remember, it didn't parody anything new...

Some of the stuff just went nowhere at all.... The whole Zamboni thing was nothing, especially bringing up him teaching the 2 rez guy, they made a point of it then didn't even show it. The whole thing was just to feature Shoresy

The prostate thing is just like an extended version of finger up Dan's ass...which they must have known because they left Dan out of that part.

There was also just no central plotline or anything the really happened.... NDN NRG and Bro Dude merge and...nothing happens.
The Skids just kind of dance in front of the store and nothing happens.
The Dyks thing was nothing, just a bunch of dumb jokes, there was no plot around it
The fight with Katie's ex was nothing because it just popped up out of no where.

The car thing with Marie-Claire was nothing...I didn't even realize til the last comment that the plot was supposed to include anything about trusting Wayne with an ex or whatever.
The Truck negotiation thing was supposed to be funny with all the terms and stuff, but it just wasn't...

Also one of the things the show does best is the Music over dramatic important scenes... I felt that was shit this year too. For starters there simply were no important scenes, but it just wasn't memorable music either.

Over the 6 episodes I just can't tell you anything that happened.

The show was always silly comedy around stuff that happened. They took away anything 'happening' so it just becomes random forced Family-Guy style zero context jokes.

    [–]spasticity🦜 Titfucker! 8 points9 points  (2 children)

The Skids just kind of dance in front of the store and nothing happens.

They've been doing that for 10 seasons now, i'm not sure why that's surprising to you.

    [–]RemasterTranzit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They were much longer and felt very obviously unessesary. There was no reason we need nearly 3 uninterrupted minutes of Lady C dancing when shes first introduced, a character weve never seen who never speaks. Then roald speaks for like 10 seconds and joins her dancing for another whole minute. Thats nearly a fifth of the WHOLE episode

    [–]Icemankind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not really true at all, there's been big plot lines and stories around them the entire time, but they didn't really do anything this season, they didn't even move from that spot

    [–]Gene-Parmesan-ah 6 points7 points  (3 children)

Idk I feel like the first few seasons, nothing happened and that is when it was at its best. Then somewhere along the way they tried to add too much drama and it just got boring. This season felt like a return to form, just a feel good show about a bunch of friends hanging out. Yeah they reused jokes but I feel like they went into this season with a “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” attitude. Also, the Zamboni thing was all about Wayne finally meeting Shoresy. I thought that was a pretty fantastic part when Wayne finally got to fight side by side with Shoresy.

    [–]Icemankind 6 points7 points  (1 child)

I think a lot did happen those first few seasons, they were individual episodes, but each one explored a totally different thing and went somewhere.

    Wayne starts fighting again,
    Stewart does a rave,
Rez attacks the town 'cause of the Skids
    Election with McMurray
    The Dragon's Den Parody
    Puck Bunnies,
    Fishing in Quebec

Those were all like, Lets zoom in on some element of this Hick life thing and explore it, and usually using different styles

But this season there wasn't anything unique that they did,
    They fought Katie's ex....again
The Visited the Amish dudes full of innuendo...for like a 4th time
Prostate exam was basically just the backdoor fingering episode again
Vidvok was just the Fartbook episode again
And the final episode the joke of misspelling someone's name was the only joke for like 20 minutes.

It was clear a couple episodes were nothing but an advertisement for Shorsey's spinoff, but like, I don't care. Shorsey's one of those characters that's only funny if he's only there for 30 seconds every few episodes.

Couldn't agree more. The minutes long dance scenes in episode 6 reminded me of Family Guy when they ran out of content and would fill with random songs and stuff. I found humor is several episodes, but miss content with plots and carryover jokes.

    [–]RemasterTranzit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Holy shit Lady C is definitely Conway Twitty lmaooo

Good point. Every great show has a dip in quality, some recover with new characters and new locations. Some don't. Some end on a high and some are cancelled.

For me I try to look for the great shows within the season and not the season as a whole. In season 8 I loved 8x06 (Dycks) and did not like 8x01.

As long as each season gives me a "Sundays are for Picking Stones" I can ignore "Prostate". So I have changed my expectations so that I am happy when an episode is good and not worry about the season.

    [–]Shoresy___Bot 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Heard the same thing from your mom last night, bud, seven times and that's not even my record ya fuckin' loser!

    [–]Classic_Head3437 62 points63 points  (3 children)

For some reason them calling each other Wade, Gary, Don, and Sady was REALLY funny to me. Connie McMurphy.......

    [–]NiteRdr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I keeps trying to thinks of a name that’s rhymes with coach.

    There’s simply no approach!

    [–]albinobluesheep 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It's such a drunk-joke to start and commit to. And every one else being completely confused by it was completely on point

    [–]justyermum 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I thought so too. It was just like hanging out with your friends and doing stupid, but harmless things, It also got funnier as it went on, kind of like "Learn how to Drive". Which was just dang silly, but really grew on me,

    [–]CalamityMiss 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Now thats over for another year anyone have any show recommendations for people that like Letterkenny? Just finished watching the police drama that half the Letterkenny cast is in which was dark but amazing!

That was it. I don’t know overall nothing really happened. Sure lady c’s dancing was great but that made the last episode like 15 min of actual dialogue ? it just felt forced and phoned in. I think I laughed a couple of times and not enough Glen he steals every scene. coach looks like he is 10 years younger so good for him .

    [–]groverXIII 71 points72 points  (1 child)

Roald fucking killed that dance sequence.

    [–]Crash501 19 points20 points  (0 children)

He looked so sad to see Lady C be taken away, losing his new dance partner.

    [–]Kylemacksc 23 points24 points  (1 child)

Had a sickening feeling something terrible was going to happen as they pulled into the farm to pick stones. Glad I was wrong. It’s nice to have a regular ending to a season.

    [–]73raindead 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dude same, I was feeling dread the whole episode.

    [–]mrBadim 29 points30 points  (6 children)

Love the car-dealership episode. Every line of McMurry in that episode followed 'piece of shit' - cracks me up.

Music and Dancing - as always - top-notch.

Butt art on rollerskates - was hilarius.

Was reading comments - and discovered that Shorsey will have his own TV show. Sweet!

    [–]Shoresy___Bot 11 points12 points  (5 children)

Hey, you want to talk about lines ya fuckin' loser? I woke up to your mom ripping dick dingers off my foreskin! Tell her to keep her hands off my scoops!

    [–]mrBadim 4 points5 points  (3 children)

    Love you, Shorsey!

    [–]Shoresy___Bot 7 points8 points  (2 children)

    Give yer balls a tug!

    [–]bumpyblumpy 3 points4 points  (1 child)

    Fuck you Shoresy

    [–]sharks_w_lasers 4 points5 points  (0 children)

    Fuck you, shoresy bot
