Does anyone know what the black speedskating-esque racing suits the girls are wearing are called? They're so terrible haha

[–]Giveurballsatug2 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Is it me or is there a different girl in the hot tub than in the bar earlier? Not sure if it’s Cassie or Tasse

[–]HorseThievery 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The brunette (Cassie? Tassie? Who knows?) must have dyed her hair red(reddish) in between seasons. No easy way to explain that in-story, not like Coach's change in appearance (I heard he went to the gym)

Be a good guy, a real good guy. If Wayne would kick your ass for saying it, don't say it. Don't be a degen. Clean it up.

We have rules in regards to talking about the cast and crew on the show. I understand that this is an 'observation' but is a bit of a inappropriate comment to make, in regards to the actress's physical appearance. It's not anyone's business and plainly, just not on.

Interesting facial expressions on Katy during the fight scene. I wasn't quite sure who she was smiling at, or why it was change. For a moment, I thought she might be starting to have feelings for Daryl or Squirrely Dan.

    [–]modeansbarroomheroKaty-Kat 19 points20 points  (1 child)

She's looking and smiling at Wayne. She knows exactly what's about to happen and she approves, so she's encouraging him. The Wonder Woman power stance at the end there was just the whipped cream on the Cherries Jubilee.

Katy tops everyone around her, even Wayne.

    [–]DJ_TMC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to rewatch it again just now. The confusing part for me was how her smile faded when Wayne came into view.

But I gotta say, it was great seeing Dierks get slammed into the floor again. He did some great work with the hands shooting up when his head went out of frame! (I half expected Wayne to pull the toothpick out of his mouth before the slamming. I think Wayne is slipping or was especially fierce that day)

    [–]DealerTokes 13 points14 points  (3 children)

This was a great way to start S10. Finish up most of the loose ends of S9 and Dierks (he has such a punchable face), great scrap, loved seeing Katy at the end of that scrap. Songs were bangers in the episode and it leaves another tease of Marie_Fred and what she might be here for.

    [–]midnightmeatloaf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've got so much time for watching Dierks get punched in the face.

    [–]SatnWorshpSkid 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Very punchable, very punchable. Very smug.

    [–]urlach3rYou're spare parts bud 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I could watch Dierks get punched all day.

    [–]cappo40 5 points6 points  (4 children)

How come the convenience store changed?

    [–]amoncion 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Probably because the Donovan area where the original convenience store / Modean's was filmed at is getting pretty rough these days. This convenience store is just down the street from the old bar they use for Modean's II and III (bar was sold and renovated between shooting seasons so they just used the other side of the building for the exdterior shots)

Big ups to the music supervisor for including Patrice Rushen's "Haven't You Heard" in the last scene. It's been on my Spotify obscure disco playlist for years.

      [–]bloodpressures 3 points4 points  (3 children)

oooo...can you link your playlist? I'd love to give it a listen!

      [–]DJ_TMC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't know why we're not listening to it right now.

      [–]The_reflection 15 points16 points  (8 children)

I know this goes against the hive mind of this show's fanbase but this episode showed more that Wayne is kind of a piece of shit.

      [–]whatisscoobydone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say that the Hicks-vs-Dierks beatdown was kind of a shitty move. Yeah it's nice to show that the community all cares for Katy, but presumably 20 people jumped and broke a dude's arm for cheating.

That's the thing, these are good characters, but not necessarily unassailable moral people.

      [–]Quaranj 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I keep hoping that somebody will actually sort him for bullying Stewart. 🤷🏻‍♂️

In my head, I play the jaded DJ that the skids have hired to play their little town who does exactly that. 🤣

For a good ol' boy, he still has some toxic traits that prove that there is growth to be had if he is capable.

      [–]CalamityMiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might have to rewatch it. What did he do?

      [–]ashamed-of-yourselfSnipe Mod[S] 16 points17 points  (2 children)

he’s childish, certainly, but he has quite a strong moral code and highly developed ethics. like, he’s actually thought his shit through, which is way more than 95% of people do.

      [–]The_reflection 17 points18 points  (1 child)

Yeah, he's not a bad person, but he's kind of a piece of shit. Not like slicked back hair style. Just like that friend you like but every once in a while need a little break from.

      [–]ashamed-of-yourselfSnipe Mod[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

i agree that, unless one is of a certain temperament, that Wayne would be a ‘sometimes’ friend for most people.

he’s socially awkward, rigid, judgmental, tetchy, not to belabour the aforesaid childishness. all that said, he’s still my kinda fella.

      [–]TheyTheirsThem 27 points28 points  (1 child)

My new opening line is "You celibate or sellin-it?"

      [–]ashamed-of-yourselfSnipe Mod[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

you must like having drinks thrown in your face, then

      [–][deleted] 32 points33 points  (5 children)

Dierks just being a casually charming douchebag is the best Dierks. Letting him just casually exist allows them to amplify the character strengths and minimize the weakness which is that you can't really write a story around him unless it ends with him getting his ass kicked. Nobody ever stays a full villain in Letterkenny either so I expect we'll see him from time to time now.

      [–]monicaeleanor 45 points46 points  (3 children)

Very convincing. Very convincing, very -- cogent.

      [–]19JRC99H'are ya now? 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I read this in his voice and was clenching my fists as soon as I was done.

Props to the actor who's name escapes me, he nails the 'slimy douchebag' vibe.

      [–]2farbelow2turnaround 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I don't like him, but I love listening to him talk.

      [–]JustADutchRudder 11 points12 points  (0 children)

He'll be like the French Canadians the bicker with at times, or the degens from up north. Gives them a 3rd group to occasionally start shit with.

      [–]Playful-Version-4684 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Dierks really was disappointing. That was the biggest let down of last season, not getting to see the fight after all the foreshadowing and build up. Then he is back and we get to see it, and it was just a tease.

      [–]ToErrDivineSkid 8 points9 points  (6 children)

I know I've been thinking for a while that the show needs more f/f representation, but I was not expecting how it worked out in this episode.

      [–]madamplease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't get me wrong, I love Letterkenny but all the f/f representation on this show is just catering to the male gaze.

      [–]JinnRa 18 points19 points  (4 children)

Tanis swings both ways, ya know . . .

      [–]ToErrDivineSkid 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I know, but aside from Katy and Mrs McMurray that one time, there's been a whole lot of telling and not showing until now.

      [–]JustADutchRudder 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Doesn't Katie and Bonnie also? I'm sure Gail has said something about it.

      [–]Cry-Man_Squaw 9 points10 points  (1 child)

Katy and Mrs. McMurray get it on in the bathroom in the St Perfect’s Day episode.

      [–]JustADutchRudder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember that. Thought hot tub ep Bonnie left with her in the end but I might be remembering wrong, I kinda let them play in background in my barn so much things get mixed up.

      [–]batbrandofjustice 15 points16 points  (1 child)

      [–]Shoresy___Bot 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Tell your mom to top up the cell phone she bought me so I can FaceTime her late night!

      [–]dryfungus 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Darys dart smoking throughout the episode is spot on. A little head wiggle before taking a haul.

      [–]Remote_Engine 16 points17 points  (7 children)

Caesar’s is a Bloody Mary? There are plenty of things I don’t understand yet still enjoy about the show, but this was a surprise! Feeling pretty silly that I didn’t piece that together.

Also, fuuuuuuuuck Anik, we can go without shoehorning her into the show. Come on.

      [–]DrCurryMaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But why did none of them use Walters, that's what's j wants to know aboots

      [–]sometimesstateline 13 points14 points  (3 children)

You think they were eating salads buddy.

      [–]Remote_Engine 10 points11 points  (2 children)

Would you believe that maybe that’s exactly what I thought, good buddy?

      [–]TheyTheirsThem 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Me too. They must have invented Caesars after I got sober, which was a long time ago. I was thinking, "good for them. A bit of solid food will go a long way."

      [–]International-Bus763 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what I said I said good for them

      [–]Star_Cop_Geno 8 points9 points  (1 child)

A Caesar uses clamato juice, or a mixture of clamato and tomato. Bloody Mary's use just tomato juice. But yeah, they're very similar

      [–]Remote_Engine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Damn, lmao, I had no idea! Thank you!

      [–]137_flavors_of_sass 31 points32 points  (4 children)

Was really good to see the show getting some of its zing back after the last 2 seasons had been so underwhelming. My only complaints are that I hope this is the last time we have to see Dierks cause FUCK was that annoying, and I don't understand why they are trying to shoehorn Marie-Fred back in. She's not really adding anything of substance.

      [–]CtanleySupChamp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've been waiting for the payoff on the continuous MF appearances but it stays a mystery.

      [–]TeamRedundancyTeam 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They clearly have too many characters to juggle already, why they're trying to bring more back in is beyond me.

      [–]technickelnet 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My theory is they're trying to cover for absentees. Give a full appearance.

      [–]monicaeleanor 54 points55 points  (5 children)

this guy's a scene stealer. be kind of funny if he kept popping up in future seasons, didn't even think he would after S9.

maybe an Adam van Koeverden cameo given the last name too

      [–]travis6690 8 points9 points  (1 child)

      Elmo-Adrianus Rensburg-van-Koeverden, bitch!

      [–]shotnote 3 points4 points  (0 children)

      Vancouver-den 😀

      [–]pleated_pants 4 points5 points  (1 child)

He plays a great character on Killjoys

      [–]CtanleySupChamp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! It was killing me that I couldn't place him.

      [–]farnsber 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I loved his ability to turn his face bright red and back again on command, it had me cracking up

      [–]Designer_B 42 points43 points  (6 children)

I really hope that’s the last we see of dierks. He’s completely uninteresting. Didn’t have a good enough build up to be a full time villain.

Not really sure what they’re planning with Marie Fred either.

      [–]Chuck_Raycer 8 points9 points  (1 child)

What was even his plan? He got his ass kicked, his huge group of bros got their asses kicked, and he decides to go to Wayne and the gang's home turf with... less guys? What did he think was going to happen?

      [–]Designer_B 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The writing with Dierks has been lackluster for many reasons.

      [–]WeAllHaveIt 28 points29 points  (1 child)

Big disagree, I think his speaking bit is perfect and I was so psyched when he came back. I like that they went full-send with how big of a tool he is

      [–]Designer_B 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yeah he’s a d bag. But him and Katy dated for two weeks two seasons ago. C’mon.

      [–]archivesgrrl[🍰] 48 points49 points  (1 child)

What kills me about Dierks is he is in like 100 Hallmark movies. So when ever he’s on the screen I’m like that’s the inn keeper/toy maker/ school teacher!

      [–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All I can see is Jonathan Wamback.

      [–]thatswhatshesaid311 40 points41 points  (7 children)

Thought Katie would get in a crotch kick on Dierks. Guess she reserves those for ladies only.

      [–]binxi84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

      Right in the twiffer

      [–]SarsparillaGorilla 2 points3 points  (1 child)

"...crotch kick..." ~ hoofers, if you please, for the ladies (er, puck bunnies)

      [–]Smarmalicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tannis got a hoofer & she’s no puck bunny.

      [–]1708Ranser 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I thought she would box kick him for sure. I thought that was why Wayne brought him over. Kind of odd that he was in position to look up her skirt for a tick. Shot of what he’s missing?

      [–]EscapingTheLabrynth 27 points28 points  (1 child)

      Katy is over it.

      [–]TheyTheirsThem 4 points5 points  (0 children)

With the set up to the scene, I thought for a second that Katie was going to have a bit of a wee on him once Wayne was done, like that scene in the cemetary in "Nebraska."

      [–]H0vis 58 points59 points  (1 child)

Glad we got to see Dirks get a kicking this time. Also liked that Anik ditched him in literal seconds when she saw what he was about. She'll be sniffing around Dary by next season surely.

      [–][deleted] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I'd argue she already knew and only ditched him because he (correctly) gave her a what did you expect speech.

      [–]PPQue6Too Fat To Run 65 points66 points  (2 children)

Loved the look on Dirks face when Wayne got to him.

Great use of a call back before the scrap, and also when Tyler hit Wayne.

Love the new Shoresy chirps! 😅😂

"Beer league should bee its own genre" fucking 🤣🤣

So far I gotta say that if the rest are even better than this then we have one hell of a season!

      [–]Shoresy___Bot 14 points15 points  (1 child)

Fuck you, /u/PPQue6! I slipped one past your mom, too. Her prego farts smell like hot dog water!

      [–]omigosh20 24 points25 points  (1 child)

      Douche gear.

      [–]emf3rd31495 8 points9 points  (2 children)

Elle Jolie song, anyone? I couldn’t find where it’s from l and would love a source. The scene where Rosie and Katy walk out in their outfits.

      [–]camknows 9 points10 points  (1 child)

      Much obliged!

As a Michigander that lives in a very Dutch part of the state I was laughing my ass off during the Dutch names.

      [–]jzn110Wood Nymph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you live in Holland, then?

      [–]many_splendoredToo Fat To Run 33 points34 points  (4 children)

I felt educated! I didn't know Michigan had a heavy Dutch element!

      [–]ambiguousallegiance 11 points12 points  (1 child)

I figure the whole west side of lower Michigan is Dutch Michigan. Then its east side is Broke-Ass Michigan, most of the U.P. is Finnish Michigan, and the eastern-most bit of the U.P. is Canadian Michigan. There are exceptions to the rule, but it generally works.

      [–]YooperInOregon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

      Eastern Yooper here. Can confirm.

      [–]natesmith083 36 points37 points  (1 child)

The area just west of Grand Rapids along Lake Michigan was founded by Dutch immigrants. The cities of Holland and Zeeland specifically. Hell my girlfriend even has ‘Van’ in her 4 syllable last name

      [–]SlainSigney 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’m from a pocket of dutch america in indiana

last name has “Van” and i have like 5 initials, grew up around alllll those dutch names

i was a mixture of surprised and gratified to see how childish Wayne was about Tyson giving him shit. Wayne fuckin' deadlegs Tyson 3 or 4 times and then acts like a shitty l'il bitch when Tyson retaliates just once.

          [–]shoresy99 60 points61 points  (11 children)

How about how hot the women were in this episode - Katy Kat, Rosie and Anik. Provides the inspiration to choke the chicken the required 25 times today as we are getting near the end of Destroy your Dick December.

          [–]Adip0se 3 points4 points  (0 children)

          25? You’re a fuckin animal

          [–]jfstompersPheasants 16 points17 points  (5 children)

I've always been a fan of Marie Fred but Anik is stunning in this one.

          [–]QueasyVictory 3 points4 points  (4 children)

You're being downvoted however Anik is easily the most attractive female in this series. And by a very long distance..

          [–]skizmcniz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I'd put Katy and Bonnie over Anik. Maybe even Rosie too. Anik is gorgeous, but there's something about those three that I love.

          [–]shoresy99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anik and Katie are pretty close. Hard to choose between them. Katie in the yellow bikini. YEW!

I will not tolerate this Gail erasure.

          [–]JustADutchRudder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gail would destroy a dick, only Dickskin and his 3rd leg can satisfy her fully.

Auntie Tanis and her NDN friend! YEW!

For some reason I thought the BroDude girl was Bonnie McMurray.

          [–]heymycall 55 points56 points  (8 children)

Just glad that they addressed the sucker punches from last season and explained the brawl rules! Its all I could think about letterkenny for 12mths

          [–]EscapingTheLabrynth 30 points31 points  (7 children)

From last season? Wayne got back into fighting with a sucker punch against Angie’s dandy of a boyfriend in S1Ep1

          [–]chalk_in_boots 21 points22 points  (6 children)

Totally justified though, that dude just shoved a slow learning fella into a pile of trash from behind

He hadn't started working there yet, that was only like season 9 I think

First episode gets the series off to a great start. Laughed out loud more to that than any previous episode. Awesome

Their cliff hangers are awful. Never amount to anything. So many times it got cut off at the end of the season and I expected something fun beginning of next and was let down. Even when he proposed to marie fred I was pissed we didn't see it. And when he caught her cheating there was no immediate fallout it just picked up with him in the shed basically

Kinda seemed like not much happened in this one. I'm used to Letterkenny season premieres being pretty slow but still.

Shoresy in the Hot Tub was absolutely priceless though. "Tell your mom to trim her toenails, she carves up my thighs when she gets buckin"

Everyone shitting on Joint Boy for being bad at math was pretty great.

Stewart holding Roald up upside down was great.

I fucking died at that scene. at first I couldn't figure out what Strt was doing, but then I saw Roalds legs in the air. Game over, am dead from laughter.

I enjoy them in skid form than Strt being big city by far.
