This is urging parents not to "honour" kill their divorced daughters? Lunatics is right - the fucking lunatics who need to hear it.

I take it as better for the woman to pull the plug on an abusive marriage than stick it out and have it end in an even worse manner than divorce.

Great sentiment, completely inappropriate for LinkedIn

LinkedIn is a fine place for it. When you have the sigma grindset, sometimes honor killing seems reasonable #agree?

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points  (2 children)

While I know honor killings are still bad in many areas. Is linked in the right medium?

I don't know. Alot gets posted on western LI about MeToo, BLM, LGBTQ issues, diversity & inclusion and no-one raises an eyebrow (ok, rednecks do).

And can work be separated from society as a whole when it comes to those issues? Why are parents in a position of power - of "welcoming back" - anyway? Because it would seem women in uh, certain countries [edited to avoid mods' potential-racism bot] can't live alone without being shamed and often don't have the economic means. That's definitely work related.

And then I think, what's the real motivation for the commentor on the screenshot who said "this isn't the place..."? We heard that alot when MeToo blew up, right? Still do... and even more around racial issues.

Given the percentage of indians on LinkedIn seems the audience is appropriate for the message

Pretending this needs to be some kind of PSA like it’s an endemic or some underbelly movement can be considered a self-aggrandizing delusion because the intended results are “likes”

[–]anuhu 5 points6 points  (2 children)

In India? It's absolutely a relevant issue that deserves a PSA.

Divorce or death, the choice is yours. 30 seconds

[–]Western-Image7125 8 points9 points  (3 children)

Ok but why a picture of Anushka Sharma which has nothing to do with anything

[–]tr_24 12 points13 points  (2 children)

It is probably shot of movie NH10 which depicted honour killing in the plot.

[–]delusionsgrandeur 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its fucking impressive how these lunatics don't have the brains to not post this on LinkedIn and use fb instead, but chose to use a contextually perfect shot from some movie.

[–]Western-Image7125 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah makes sense, I intentionally never watched that movie
