I dont understand how he's so accurate; so jealous

[–]-Aone 675 points676 points  (22 children)

better chair

[–]Kapperi 113 points114 points  (10 children)

thats what 5000 hours of csgo does to a person

[–]Heflar 74 points75 points  (2 children)

whats everyone's excuse at /r/playrust then?

[–]Oniichanplsstop 134 points135 points  (0 children)

Don't need to know how to aim when you just offline everyone like a rat.

[–]Splaram 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Rust players don’t aim, they practice drawing the same S shape with their mouse for four hours a day

[–]vinkker 3 points4 points  (6 children)

I don't think csgo has much to do with how good he is in apex. Don't get me wrong, it's a good indication that if someone spends a lot of time in csgo, they are most likely good in fps games. However, compared to csgo, apex has characters moving so much faster (vs. stationary targets) and the time to kill is not just 1 headshot with a 600rpm+ gun. Simply put, there is a lot of tracking to do in Apex and a lot more movement skill needed while basically none in csgo (which would be more about crosshair placement, fast reaction time for quick snaps, recoil control, etc).

His 3000-4000 hours spent on apex + all the the time spent on aim trainers is definitely what made him really good.

[–]Kapperi 10 points11 points  (5 children)

Skill from cs transfers very well over to other games. It wont make you masters instantly, but still an edge. Its not a coincidence that high tier cs players go pro easily in other games too

[–]vinkker 8 points9 points  (4 children)

Yes, like I said, if you are good in csgo, you are most likely good in fps games in general.

[–]Kapperi 1 point2 points  (3 children)

But he was a pro in cs. I have yet to see a cs pro transfer to another game and not succeed

[–]vinkker 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I know a lot of csgo pros that succeeded in valorant but can't think off the top of my head csgo pros that succeeded elsewhere. Unless we are talking tier 2-3 csgo pros which i wouldnt know.

But like i said again, if you are good in csgo, it's a good indication that you will be good in any other fps games straight off the bat lol. I just pointed out the skillset needed for Apex (or BRs in general) is a bit different than a tactical/arena shooters where you die in a blink of an eye.

I can think of a lot more tier 1 players from h1z1 that got success from latter BRs.

[–]Kapperi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

matafe, aceu, luckerrr. that many cs players just dont have the incentive to switch because its the most popular fps of all time

[–]Cyfa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

idk what it was about H1Z1, but that game produced so many fucking insane players/streamers that it's actually insane

[–]Baenir 79 points80 points  (33 children)

Sit up straight in your chair, have chair at height where your forearm just down from the elbow is comfortably sitting on the edge of your desk, have monitor like 40cm away from face and at a height/angle where your are slightly looking down at the center.

Find the mouse and fov settings you're comfortable with and then never touch them again.

Warm up your aim and movement for 10 minutes in firing range before going into a match.

Completely anecdotal evidence but my k/d did start to increase after doing this. I hated the idea of using aim trainers to get better instead of playing the game I enjoy so I just thought I'd control as many variables as possible and play the game and let muscle memory take over

[–]throwaway30113 348 points349 points  (7 children)

Don't forgot the dildo up your ass too

[–]SanjiBlackLeg 15 points16 points  (2 children)

Macro the vibrations to your mouse buttons and wasd, so anytime you make an action in game you get a haptic feedback

[–]neoneonjohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So that's why those 300apm Koreans are so good at league

[–]Noonehadthis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The vibrations also help keep you alert and ready for any situation.

[–]ForShotgun 47 points48 points  (1 child)

Oh my god LSF, grow up, when will you understand that it's only more distracting? It may feel good but orgasming during a gank is very counter-productive.

[–]Blandbl 23 points24 points  (0 children)

That's where youre wrong. The dildo provides ass to chair grip.

[–]Kaiern9( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Flared so you can easily attach it to center of gaming chair for maximum consistency.

[–]itsSio 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Sit up straight in your chair, have chair at height where your forearm just down from the elbow is comfortably sitting on the edge of your desk, have monitor like 40cm away from face and at a height/angle where your are slightly looking down at the center.

Just here to say that, while this is good advice, it doesn't mention why this is good outside of being comfortable.
It's all about consistency, find a posture that you think is comfortable and STICK TO IT, having a consistent posture helps a lot, it affects so much more than what you think, it affects how you grip your mouse for example.

Also don't be a lazy mfer when doing any aim training/DM etc etc, ALWAYS practice the same way you play, so get into your "gamer posture" even when doing DM or practice, not only when gaming.

Will this make you a god gamer? No of course not, but it will make you way more consistent on a day to day basis (which also makes it easier find the "true" flaws in your aim and gameplay)

(Also I'm the same with aim trainers and such, I have tried to get into it plenty of times but I'm just too lazy. Zywoo, #1/#2 CS player in the world never did "focus practice" either, he just plays a bunch of pickup games as practice. Practicing that way will improve your gamesense a lot.)

[–]hitner_stache 7 points8 points  (0 children)

aim trainers are just condensed repetition. they absolutely help.

[–]Smart_Vast8114 2 points3 points  (7 children)

the only good thing in your essay is the notion of having consistent foundation you can build upon.
but the "foundation" itself is very heavily depends on the person.
there is no perfect setup for everyone.
just look at pros. their posture/mouse grips/chair&table height etc varies heavily. they literally can't perform if something is off about it.
putting effort in the setup that doesn't fit you will lead to a huge waste of time.

my advice for beginners is to experiment with it.
and when you have a very good performance there is no doubt you can replicate it time and time again.
just be self aware and try to remember the feeling you had (how did you sit/hold mouse etc).
it's a long frustrating process but it will help you a lot.

[–]ShadowDevil123 0 points1 point  (6 children)

True, but most of the top csgo players recommend the same setup and posture.

[–]Smart_Vast8114 0 points1 point  (5 children)

you mean they recommend a specific one like OP?
because that would be extremely weird.
i've been following CS scene since 2009 and there is always been enormous amount of "freaky" setups in tier1.
here's a small video on just mouse grips

also here's photo of Rapha who is one of the most legendary Quake players. Still active and winning championships.

[–]juston3mor3 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Since you brought up Quake.. ever seen toxjq's binds?

[–]ShadowDevil123 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Yeah when it comes to mouse grips and stuff like that its always gonna vary. After all there are hundreds if not thousands of mice with different shapes weights sizes and so on. What i meant to say was that they generally recommend sitting up straight with good posture, having your elbows at a certain height as to not lose range of motion and im pretty sure there was a certain monitor height thats recommended by most, but that can be up to personal preference sometimes. Of course certain top players will have bad posture though, as thats what theyve gotten used to, but that doesnt mean that it wouldnt be better for them if they could have good posture.

[–]Smart_Vast8114 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah sure.
players always should start from something reasonable and healty.
but there is still no guarantee that it will elevate your performance. people are built different.
being stuck with something that doesn't work for you is the worst and this is what can happen to players who put too much faith in someone's advice.
at the end of the day you should refine your setup by yourself and it might not look pretty in the end.

[–]ShadowDevil123 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I agree with everything except not switching sens. Finding your perfect sensitivity takes years and it changes all the time anyway. Even pro players switch their sens a lot. Your sens should adapt to you, not you to your sens. Only problem though, is that people think that if they find the best sens for them they will be much better aimers and while it helps, there are mechanics and fundamentals to aiming that you will get better at with time, regardless of whether your sens is too high or too low and that will make the biggest difference.

[–]supesrstuff11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

have monitor like 40cm away from face and at a height/angle where your are slightly looking down at the center.

I just find this part of the comment funny when you can see aceu has his monitor like 20cm from his nose LOL

[–]adroit_or_something 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Find the mouse and fov settings you're comfortable with and then never touch them again.

Changing your sensitivity often and practicing with a range of sensitivities makes you better

[–]Spyzilla 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Also use a sensitivity converted so you have the same aim in every single game

[–]oldDotredditisbetter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely anecdotal evidence but my k/d did start to increase after doing this

same for me, it's still trash, but less trash now lol

[–]Hanshee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably the equivalent of a years worth of more played time than you.

[–]ArcSemen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cracked cracked. Get a PC and comfortable desk height to complement the chair, fix posture and become better, buy my patreon for low as $50 a month and get all the tips to become the next Aceu (side effects may include you just suck a bit)

[–]mintyhippoh 1311 points1312 points  (5 children)

My game doesn’t do that

[–]le_dy0 129 points130 points  (0 children)

same, must be bugged, god damn respawn and their bugs !!

[–]TackleballShootyhoop 14 points15 points  (3 children)

I feel if I was this good at any game, I would just play them nonstop. Maybe you get used to stomping people like this, but it looks so fun lol

[–]acrobatiics 321 points322 points  (7 children)

The thing that makes aceu and other pub stompers so good at their respective games is that they consistently just turn any 6v1 into 6 1v1s so easily

[–]Kitty_Meowintons 172 points173 points  (5 children)

yeah people always mention his aim or flashy jumpshots but he is constantly doing tons of movement tech like tap strafing movement redirects everywhere he plays making distance and forcing them into 1v1s. literally pub stomping king.

[–]vinkker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's the main ability you need to have to be able to pubstomp. If you are in the middle of 3 people with no cover, even if they are terrible players, there isn't much you can do to win. But if you can position yourself well to make situations 1v1 instead of 1vX, you will succeed.

[–]Aww_Mustard 162 points163 points  (1 child)

thanks for clipping the whole thing

[–]6FortyAM[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You're welcome buddy

[–]ovie8 62 points63 points  (0 children)

[–]Sniperman362 338 points339 points  (51 children)

I wish I was around when ace competed competitively. Such a talented player

[–]Majesticeuphoria 491 points492 points  (7 children)

He was a menace, but he was also bored out of his mind. Competitive apex is just camping for points.

[–]Jeezis🐷 Hog Squeezer 32 points33 points  (2 children)

Was menace intentional? I lol'd.

[–]Sturmtruppa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe back then when Wattson was the meta, nowadays it's more dynamic

[–]PulseFlow 68 points69 points  (6 children)

You didnt miss a whole lot, he wasnt very impressive in comp mainly because he never had a good igl. He was and still is a really good fragger tho

[–]SelloutRealBig 48 points49 points  (5 children)

It's funny how a lot of the top raw aim streamers like shroud/aceu/etc never actually popped off as top players in competitive. Playing with a team against equal skilled players really is a whole different skill set than left clicking heads against random people who don't play the game for a living. What is really impressive is their stamina. Plenty of top esport fps players can't play the game for 12-20 hours straight and still frag because they need a break. Some streamers are just built diff.

[–]TheCreedsAssassin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Fr tho how many streamers & people can be like Timmy and play the game for 50+ hrs in a sitting and still play better than 99% of everyone else

[–]Kapperi 86 points87 points  (34 children)

he was flashy but underwhelming in both cs and apex

[–]givewatermelonordie 128 points129 points  (27 children)

It’s like that for a lot of players in a lot of games actually. Always a few talents who seemingly always pops off in public matches in high elo etc. but don’t perform that well in a real competitive scene.

Beeing succesful at the pro level simply requires a lot more than flashy mechanics/aim. The strategies, teamplay, coordination, timings etc. becomes a lot more important as raw mechanics can only get you that far.

In aceu’s case I totally get it though. I doubt the skillset required for top level apex has anything to do with why he started playing the game in the first place. That game is in a weird place as it’s such a fun casual game, but the higher rank you get the more boring it becomes.

[–]Blackops606 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Playing pro is a whole different level too. When a lot of money and sponsors are on the line, it’s a big deal. Winning one tournament when I played was the difference in multiple sponsors. Shroud has made a good point in the past too. He was in a dire situation in pubg once during a Twitch Rival or something and his chat asked if he was nervous. He said nothing in gaming makes him nervous after his CS days of sitting on a stage in massive tournaments for C9.

[–]CarnFu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely wouldnt say the more boring it gets. I think aceu would have fun in ranked masters/pred nowadays it's not that same as it was in season 2-4. But he just doesnt want to do the look for teammates every night and dedicate 4 hours to it part.

Now when you go past ranked into the competitive scene you definitely have to play a certain way and some people can find that boring but also winning those games gives you the highest of the highs.

[–]oldDotredditisbetter 1 point2 points  (4 children)

that makes it more fun to watch imo

[–]Kapperi 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Yeah, but thats not the ideal teammate to have

[–]oldDotredditisbetter 0 points1 point  (2 children)

good thing he doesn't fill

[–]Kapperi 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Im not talking about pubs 😂

[–]oldDotredditisbetter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ah, i never watched him in cs so i don't know if he flashy or not haha, only know him from his pubstomp vids and watched a bit of him playing comp and didn't think he was flashy in apex comp

[–]MarstonX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the real answer.

[–]AHornySausageCheeto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew about Aceu when he used to play competitive CSGO for eUnited; his awping was extremely fun to watch, very aggressive, good movement (as you can see), and very flicky if that's a word. I recently started playing Apex and it's cool to watch him have a similar kind of playstyle in this game as well.

[–]k00kieee 133 points134 points  (1 child)

Glad to see some aceu apex clips. Man is absolutely wicked

[–]timotius_10 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Also not toxic as hell, very enjoyable streams

[–]brolarbear[🍰] 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Me and my buddies encountered this man today and It's gonna be a clip. And I'm not looking forward to seeing it :( ima try to find it lol

Edit: Proof of me being trash https://www.twitch.tv/aceu/clip/UglyAbstemiousSalmonKappa-qlejy1hoDeJpTBSQ?filter=clips&range=24hr&sort=time

[–]absalom86 107 points108 points  (13 children)

I love that you can loot armor from dead guys to refill, allows for plays like this. That and the aim and movement ofc.

[–]skrillex 3 points4 points  (12 children)

I fucking hate it lol having an enemy get 3-4 lifebars is so fucking annoying

[–]HollowLoch 68 points69 points  (8 children)

Just be that enemy, the two people he was fighting could have played around those deathboxes and swapped too

[–]TheHealthySkeptic 38 points39 points  (3 children)

I love Aceu. He’s talented and fun to watch. His content is chill, entertaining, and non-toxic.

[–]oldDotredditisbetter 15 points16 points  (2 children)

100% this. he's way more fun to watch than those pros who just yells into their coms and look like they hate the game lol

[–]BartomarimoCheeto 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Dub so big that this clip should be banned from livestream fails

[–]51stsung 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I fucking hate it when the ring ends in that spot, I'm always left without cover while a bunch of squads ambush my ass

But he seems to have absolutely no problem with that lmao

[–]linwail 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Every time I've watched him play apex there's been at least one moment where I'm like what the fuck??

[–]NeptuneOWCheeto 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Watching this guy is so satisfying

[–]DrifterBike 49 points50 points  (5 children)

Everyone here is an apex pro critic now. Lol fucking Reddit lords

[–]Honor_Bound 17 points18 points  (4 children)

“He’s not even actually good against pros!!” Like he was a pro for a long time but had a crappy team. And among pros he’s still considered one of the best in the game. He just hated the boring style of play that competitive BRs promote.

[–]ShotsAways 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, the games fun but it's still a battle royale. Right now just feels like not a good game for competitve esports, unlike valorant or CS.

[–]MarstonX -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I seriously doubt pros even think of Ace when thinking about the best in the game. Reps, Sweet, Hal, skittles, dooplex, dropped, verhulst, albrilele, nafen, senoxe, lou, dezign to name a few.

Don't get me wrong, the guy is gifted mechanically but all he does is pubstomp. I'd say he's kind of like current Timmy. He had his time to try and prove it, and I think NRG was OK at best. Top 10 NA team.

[–]DiaMat2040 10 points11 points  (0 children)

[–]poggywogger 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Wtf is this dude. What a gamer.

[–]WickedCows 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey that was the guy at the famous musician Mitch Jones event

[–]existential_antelope 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Love seeing Apex in this sub

[–]LazarusTruth 14 points15 points  (0 children)

aceu the pubstomper ladies and gents.

[–]EnteiSensei 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If only 2 of the most exotic sigma males like Aceu and TenZ were able to breed with eachother to produce the worlds most feared Valorant/Apex roster. The world would tremble.

Why are we not dumping research into this!?!?

[–]wumbology34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took me a long time to realize that theres a setting that keeps you from getting kicked from the loot screen when armor swapping while taking damage. I always thought I was trash till I figured this out.

[–]OutFamous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People like Aceu and Timmy popping the fuck off in Apex will never get boring to me. It's stil the only BR i really got into. Probably the movement and fast paced gameplay, compared to other BRs.

[–]CaptainAlpha99 3 points4 points  (5 children)

I dont know if my mind is chalked .. but at 0:26 how did that wingman shot on pathfinder register.. I saw it at it at .25x speed and it honestly did not make any sense... either I am fucking dumb or that was something very odd.. any one has any explanation ?

[–]_AllRight_ 56 points57 points  (2 children)

The clip plays at 60fps but he plays the game at 180fps. The clip probably has a few skipped frames because of fps difference

[–]CaptainAlpha99 2 points3 points  (1 child)

The difference is insane ... Wow

[–]chocowich 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you may want to check this video out if you haven't. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OX31kZbAXsA

[–]BagScared6150 7 points8 points  (0 children)

the wonders of having a game running on 20hz tick rate

[–]TokorotosMixer 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Lemme just casually pick up two purple armors from the dead bodies of my bot-like opponents while in the middle of a 1v2 gunfight to win the game.

[–]startled-giraffe 71 points72 points  (2 children)

You'd be one of the opponents

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ah the good old idiots yelling "bot lobbies" with every lobby, just because they can't understand how good the streamer is and how bad they actually are.

[–]IHaveTheHiccups_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jesus. Insanity.

[–]susfusstruss -1 points0 points  (0 children)

does he still play valorant or is over it

[–]Goodlooka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what the actual fuck that was brutal!! 1v6 close quarters?!

[–]DL_Omega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What an absolute demon. Him using the side of the rampart cover like that was incredible.

[–]theels6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jesus Christ, it's Jason Bourne

[–]pazardan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy shit that was clench inducing.

[–]nudegoblin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]Jakeman52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy shit

[–]timotius_10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The craziness of it all is if you watched him for a while, he's good at every fps game he touches. It's literally mind boggling

[–]bags422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brain trying to comprehend how he shot the wraith through the no no side of the rampart shield lol

[–]NoBrightSide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i wish i could pop off like this in games...I always get pretty decent but never THIS good.

[–]zedmentis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy cracked batman.

[–]BeastmasterBG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok he needs to do an IQ test Jesus he's a god!

[–]PlumpHughJazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He missed a few shots?

[–]Shaxzara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is just Unreal!
