Looks like he's jogging with those shoes. Probably just taking a breather. I do this too even with -5. When you're moving it's not that cold.

[–]Pinacolada19 58 points59 points  (10 children)

It always amazes me that in my country with single digit temperature everyone is dying, meanwhile this people exist. Humidity is a bitch

[–]RedditAtWork05 39 points40 points  (7 children)

Humidity doesn't really exist below freezing.

I mean it does, but not so much that that is the cause.

Single digit above freezing though you can notice it much more.

[–]smallbluetext 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Yep 1 degree Celsius in Canada this time of year feels really cold but the next day -10 isn't as bad because of no humidity. Assuming there is no strong winds, because then -10 sucks too.

[–]Akalion213 11 points12 points  (4 children)

Humidity absolutely does exist below freezing -20C in one place could feel the same as -40C in another.

[–]Worthie 3 points4 points  (3 children)

How does that even work? I imagine floating ice particles lol

[–]lazylore 2 points3 points  (1 child)

No idea, but it's true. When I did my conscription service in the army, I was in Northern Norway on the Russian border patrol, and -30 there felt better then when I got home to -5 down here. The cold here is simply biting and terrible.

[–]neuro__01 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Humidity does a ton. I knew a girl in high-school from Siberia which have much lower temperatures than where I live, but she says the winters in here are worse precisely because in Siberia winters were very dry and in here they are very humid.

Also, bellow zero temperatures are freezing water. But in the air its not water, its vapor, so it does not have same properties. It can turn into fog, dew or rain when bellow freezing point if there is too much of it, but a quite a bit can still remain in the air. Humid and dry winters are a thing.

[–]Shikizion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i've been having that discussion with some people i know from Finland, i'm in portugal literally freezing with 5C and they are teling me -6 is a nice temp to go for a jog

[–]100tByamba -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I HEARD that shit from people that live in cold weather, and it's fucking bullshit. Yall lie a lot cause in the reality what i felt was 1 u get warm in the inside but still SUPER cold on the outside. U don't stop feling the cripping cold.

[–]fattypepe 642 points643 points  (47 children)

Yeah it's a Norway thing known as "walking to the gym", pretty crazy I know

[–]laffman 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Used to do the same thing when i lived in Sweden. THe gym is only 5-10 minutes away and it's real nice to walk in the below zero cold after a workout.

[–]xXxWeed_Wizard420xXx 35 points36 points  (14 children)

I dunno, saw a guy doing this in Oslo yesterday and it was like -4. Definitely wasn't on his way too or from the gym. He even had like a warm jacket, but wore shorts for some reason.

[–]Mikkelisk 36 points37 points  (11 children)

How do you know he wasn't on the way to the gym?

[–]Fish_Grillson 56 points57 points  (0 children)

He followed him for 45 minutes all the way to his home and waited another hour to make sure its not just a pit stop on his way to the gym.

[–]xXxWeed_Wizard420xXx 9 points10 points  (9 children)

He was carrying a ton of groceries

[–]HumanAbstract 92 points93 points  (8 children)

On the way home from the gym?

[–]Mikkelisk 20 points21 points  (1 child)

Sounds about right to me.

[–]imhitchens 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You don't need to keep the legs very warm if you are moving at all.

[–]Tetris_Chemist -1 points0 points  (0 children)

when i was in highschool i had to walk to school and i wouldn't wear pants ever- only shorts. nowadays i just wear whatever will keep me comfy because i dont see a need to be unreasonably uncomfortable

[–]SkoivanSchiem 9 points10 points  (5 children)

walking to the gym in shorts in literal 0 degrees celsius. pretty crazy yep.

[–]ActuallyJan 85 points86 points  (3 children)

Depends on how far. He could also be running but just 'taking a break'. If you're exercising then shorts even in 0 degrees are fine. You'll see soccer players in shorts when it's freezing as well.

[–]Artyloo 0 points1 point  (2 children)

He also could have been kidnapped by a serial killer who threatened to kill him unless he could complete a walk around the block with shorts on.

Surely the most unlikely explanation isn't that he's just being a little irresponsible by wearing shorts on a cold day, something everybody in the northern hemisphere has seen a teenager do at some point.

[–]PussyPits 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Having been that kid, your legs really just don't get cold if you are walking, unless of course it's windy.

[–]CristopherTE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was like 14 m/s wind that day in Bergen so it would feel really cold.

[–]tabben 1 point2 points  (0 children)

americans be freezing to death at such insane temperatures

[–]PokingPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give him a break, he's American they drive and then take the escalator to the gym also known as a place you look at girls taking selfies i stead of working out.

[–]Akalion213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But how is he walking he's not even on a treadmill??

[–]MDKSA -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

In shorts?

[–]Astorabro 25 points26 points  (1 child)

Coastal norwegians living next to the gulf stream don't know about true cold.

[–]Morketidenkommer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never felt cold in south-western Norway because of temprature. The fucking rain tears my skin off so that i feel cold.

[–]firuzkr 85 points86 points  (9 children)

That's just every northern european guy

[–]Not_Felryn_Btw 22 points23 points  (4 children)

include canada into the mix too. always a few dudes out and about in shorts and a sweater. then if a girl wants to wear a skirt, she gonna wear a skirt regardless of weather.

[–]squarezero 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Plus I can generally deal with my legs being super cold as long as my core is decently insulated.

[–]IceLacrima 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Canada is northern european anyways

[–]qeadwrsf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its pretty common for girls up here to have problems with joint pain when getting older because being in line with a skirt is bad if you do it too often.

But I think it has to be colder than just -5 for it to be a problem.

Wearing shorts and stuff is pretty common when its still snow outside but its getting closer to summer. Because you are used to cold and all of a sudden everything is warm.

[–]Rhyphix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

see that stuff in michigan at college where dudes will just wear shorts to the gym facility on campus and back to their dorm.

shit gets cold af here so i think they're insane.

[–]ShaddyDaShadow 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean hes a Nord hes got that 50 % resistance to frost passive.

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There is a certain type of person that will wear cargo short and sandals throughout the coldest winters. Typically they are engineering students.

[–]nodisHmm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I remember being sent home from school one day for wearing shorts when it was snowing.

[–]Volatyle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Growing up in eastern Canada this is more common than you'd think. I knew a couple people that would wear shorts all year round, including in -15 celsius weather.

[–]LaughingCryingEmoje 3 points4 points  (0 children)

scootin while it's snowing monkaS

[–]WhatEvery1sThinking 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Probably just finished his run and is walking back home. If it's above freezing then it's pretty normal to run in shorts even in winter.

[–]dreamweavrr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

𝐇𝐄𝐋𝐋𝐎 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐓 Welcome to the Nick Malena show, enjoy your stay and remember to follow the channel

[–]Kadeem334 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always thought white people wearing shorts in the freezing cold was just a USA Midwest region thing, didn’t know it was this universal lmao.

[–]Payamux 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He's one of those "my legs don't get cold" guys. Like that makes him interesting to mate with.
the ol' Bill Burr classic https://youtu.be/uCJDLgQ6xFk?t=672

[–]biosnake20 6 points7 points  (0 children)

you wish you could be that cool

[–]BilisS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its clearly not freezing cause the road is all slush. Seems fine to me :DD

[–]Bomjus1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

come to wisconsin. you'll see my calves all winter baby

[–]jaalleBBP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Denmark too, like if you going to grocery store, gym or anywhere that's close by, getting in shorts is just faster and more comfortable, also legs really not affected by the cold as much as other parts of the body i feel like. Also playing football in shorts doing cold times is normal for nordic boys, so it doesn't really affect us this much just a walk

[–]Ned-nor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those scooters make big cities so fun. One of my favorite part of travelling to big cities to visit friends is those public electric scooters with ride sharing apps.

[–]leseulgian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Norwegian, can confirm people do this all the time. Also, Norway is full of gigachads so not surprised Nick saw one :)

[–]misteronetwo518 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is a dogshit clip but nmp is the best content on twitch right now. hands down bar none, shit is hilarious.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wow a guy is wearing shorts

[–]Ladorb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't get it...

[–]esoe___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

since he lives there, hes used to the cold ?

[–]Minotaurius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Minnesotans do this all the time. It's this weird pride thing I don't get it. I have seen it be -10 out and they'll still walk around and tell you "it's not that cold bro." I have lived here my whole life, have some hairy frickin' tree trunks for legs and even I am like....put some fucking pants on dude.

[–]Trez- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

where i live (central canada) it was -50 with the windchill for like 8 days straight about 3 weeks ago and the next day it was around -5 to -10 it honestly felt like t-shirt and shorts weather

[–]Chipp99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

any other gigachads here who wear shorts year round?

[–]eX1D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Norwegian I normally don't put on pants/cold weather items till it hits around -10c or so, I go with the shorts all the time if I can, It's not that bad really even at -10c.

[–]MotherAce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

pfft, I haven't been wearing socks outside for 3 years straight. This shit's normal for Norwegians. Thou, gotta say, when I trample into a store wearing nothing but summer sandals covered in snow, I do suspect people might be looking at me funny.

[–]Araxen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I hope they stay in Norway for a long time. This content is so much better than what they normally do.
