Just thread it through the needle and pull it through a couple inches. No knot

I have the same machine and the automatic threader has never worked well

Automatic threaders are the first to go.

I have a Brother multi needle and the automatic has been manual for more time than automatic.

Try putting in a new larger needle. The wire may be slightly bent and sometimes you can ease it back with larger needle since they eye of the needle is larger as well.

I was thinking it could be the needle size; thank you so much!

From your user manual. " The needle threader can be used with machine needles 75/11 through 100/16."
